25-0523A_THE STATURE OF A PERFECT MAN PT-9 (PARTAKERS OF CHRIST'S DIVINE NATURE)
2Pe 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2Pe 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2Pe 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
2Pe 1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
2Pe 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
2Pe 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Pe 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
2Pe 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
*… IT WAS GOD MADE THE PROMISE. AND GOD'S
ABLE TO KEEP EVERYTHING HE PROMISED.
THE.STATURE.OF.A.PERFECT.MAN_ JEFF.IN V-2 N-18 SUNDAY_ 62-1014M
43-1 All right. All right, add this
to your faith, always putting Him before you,
remembering, it was He that promised. Wasn't me promised; wasn't the
pastor promised (our Brother Neville); it wasn't some other minister promised;
it wasn't some priest or pope, wasn't no man of the earth; it was God made the promise. And God's able to keep
everything He promised.
All right. If you've got that kind of faith to know that
God promised it... Say, "Brother Branham, I'm sick. I need healing awful
bad." Accept it. It's a gift given to you. Yes, sir. If thou canst believe,
"Well," you say, "I do believe." Then forget it. That's
all. It's all over. See? Have patience.
If you've got patience... If you're not, you're crumbling off this building here. See? It'll knock all the rest of it down, that one thing. You've got to have that. Don't add it, because it'll wreck your building. If you haven't got patience, if you haven't got virtue to add to your faith that you say you've got, and if you haven't got any faith, and try to put virtue on it, it'll break your faith down. So you say, "Well now, wait a minute. Maybe this is all a mistake anyhow. Maybe God isn't God. Maybe there is no God." See, it'll break the thing right in two. See?
*STAY RIGHT THERE
UNTIL HE DOES ACCEPT YOU.
GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY_ WEST.PALM.BEACH.FL TUESDAY_ 53-1201
E-19
And then, just by accepting it won't
only do, God's got to vindicate back that He has accepted you. That's the
thing. You can accept Him, but then if He accepts you. Stay
right there until He does accept you. And then when He does, He seals
you into His Kingdom by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Then you have, you're
secure until the day of redemption. That's right.
"Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you're sealed (until the next revival, no, huh-uh,) until the day of redemption." Is that right? There's no ups-and-downs, ins-and-outs; you really get into God. If you're really in Him, not just impersonating something, but you're really in Christ, you're one alternative, your whole heart's sold out; every bridge is burnt behind you; and you got your affections set on things which are above; and you run the race with patience that's set before you. Amen.
*FAITH
WAITS WITH PATIENCE FOR THE PROMISED WORD TO BE FULFILLED.
I.HAVE.HEARD.BUT.NOW.I.SEE_ SHREVEPORT.LA V-7 N-3 SATURDAY_ 65-1127E
44 Job, let's take a little of his
life. Job was a prophet. He was a man that lived back before the Bible was
written. It's been thought that Job was one of the oldest Books of the Bible,
because It was written before Genesis was written. Job, this great warrior and
prophet, was a--a mighty man in his day. No doubt that he had been brought up and had
served the Lord all of his life. And had lived such a gallant life to the
people, all had respects for him.
45 But he'd come to a place to
where he calls it here, being tempted of the Lord. But I'd like to use the
word, being "tested" by the Lord. And truly, "Every son that
cometh to God must first be tested, tried, child-trained." And then if the
testing gets hard, and we think it's too hard and won't listen (take heed),
then He said we "become a illegitimate child, and not a child of
God." Because, there's nothing can move a real, borned-again
child of God away from his Parent, see, he's part of Him.
You can no more deny it, you deny yourself. See, you've had the
experience, you've been trained and tested.
48 And, now, we find out his life
and trials, and his great faith. Even Jesus, when He came on the earth, He referred
to the patience of Job. He said, "Have you not read of
the patience of Job?" Faith waits with patience for the promised Word to be
fulfilled.
49 Now, we notice here that Job,
after he went through his trials, all of his afflictions... He had a lovely
family, they were taken from him. He had good health, it was taken from him. Everything that he owned
in this life was taken. And he set on a ashheap, with a piece
of crock, scraping his boils. And even to his own wife, spoke against him, she
said, "Why not curse God, and die?"
50 He said, "Thou speakest like a foolish woman." He said, "The Lord gave, and the Lord taken away, blessed be the Name of the Lord!"
*THE YOKE THAT YOU'RE YOKED WITH WITH CHRIST DOESN'T CHAFF
YOUR NECKS ANY MORE. IT ISN'T A BURDEN TO BEAR...IT'S LIGHT.
WHY.SOME.PEOPLE.CAN'T.KEEP.THE.VICTORY_OAKLAND.CA SUNDAY_ 57-0324

Then you know what? The yoke that
you're yoked with with Christ doesn't chaff your necks any more. It isn't a
burden to bear. Then you just go on... It's all got feathers on it then. It's
light. The burdens are few. And you know what
you do with it. When somebody turns over, say, "Hey, wasn't you
down to that holy-roller meeting? I thought I seen you go up there."
"Well,
m-m-m-m, I'll tell you..." See? It--it kind of chafes you a little bit
because the mainspring's not working. That's right. But
when the mainspring goes to working... When that person says, "I
heared, Liddy, you become a holy-roller. So you're not going to join our little
cigarette party any more."
Now, if you haven't got the Mainspring, you say, "John, I'll tell you. I throwed away them old cigarettes. I knew it. I heard on the radio, that..."
*NO MATTER WHAT TAKES PLACE, LOOK AT
GOD'S PROMISE, NOT HOW YOU FEEL, BUT WHAT GOD SAID.
GOD'S.COVENANT.WITH.ABRAHAM_ CHARLOTTE.NC SATURDAY_ 56-0428
E-27 …..So, you see, you must look at
God's promise. See? No matter what takes place, look at God's promise, not
how you feel, but what God said. Now, that's Abraham's faith.
When he was here, almost now, he
was seventy-five
years old and Sarah, sixty-five,
and He said they was going to have a baby. And Abraham was strong in faith,
giving praise to God, for he knew that God was able to keep His promise. Amen.
How He child trained him for twenty-five years. You know, God trains every child that comes to Him. And the Bible said, "Every son that cometh to God must be chastened of God." And if we cannot stand chastisement, then we're not children of God; we become illegitimate children. A real child of God doesn't mind the whipping rod, the chastisement, doesn't mind the disappointments; he wades right on just the same. God said so. It's in his heart and nothing can move it, he's just there to stay. And Abraham, that's the way he acted upon God's promise, and that's the way every child of Abraham acts tonight. You believe it down here in this pit tonight?
*NO MATTER WHAT TAKES PLACE, BELIEVE IT ANYHOW.
GOD'S.COVENANT.WITH.ABRAHAM_ CHARLOTTE.NC
SATURDAY_ 56-0428
E-28
Believe it. No matter what takes place, believe it anyhow. You
see, Christians don't look at what they see; Christians look at things they
don't see. And the things you don't see are more
real than the things that you see. You see that microphone. It'll perish. I see faith that'll
never perish. See? I see love--love, joy, peace,
long-suffering, goodness, meekness, gentleness, patience. Every shield of the
believer is supernatural. Everything that belongs in the realm of Christianity is
worked by supernatural.
