Mar 10:28  Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. 

Mar 10:29  And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 

Mar 10:30  But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

*IF GOD PROMISED TO GIVE ME THE DESIRE OF MY HEART, AND THE DESIRE OF MY HEART IS THE RIGHT THING...

  E-44    If Divine healing is promised in the Bible, and I’m sick, I’ll stay there till God gives it to me, ’cause it’s a promise. God promised I’d forsake the world, He give me the Holy Ghost, I’ll stay right there till He gives It to me, because He promised it. If God promised to give me the desire of my heart, and the desire of my heart is the right thing, I’ll stay there till God gives it, because it’s a promise. And I’ve forsaken all the world. I want to walk after Him, and He will pay. I know that to be truth. It’s exactly right.

*GOD REQUIRES YOU TO FORSAKE ALL TO FOLLOW HIM; FORSAKE EVERYTHING THAT'S CONTRARY TO HIM AND FOLLOW HIM.

  E-46    Could you imagine them agreeing... an old man, here, seventy-five years old with a sixty-five-year-old wife saying, "You know what? I met God out here, and He told me I was going to have a baby now by Sarah." Why, the--his doctor friend would've said, "The old man's off at his head." But he'd already bought up the pins, and birdeye, and everything else getting ready for it, because he knew he was going to have it. That's right. Nothing to it. Why? God promised it. Right. And if that bunch of people wanted to laugh at him, and think he'd gone off at his head...

They do every believer that way. All of Abraham's seed has the same thing. That's right. Sometimes your church will even turn you out, your clubs, your--your places you belong to, your fellowships in the neighborhood, your associates. Sometimes your boyfriend or your girlfriend will turn you down. But God requires you to forsake all to follow Him; forsake everything that's contrary to Him and follow Him.

*EVERYTHING THAT'S GOT UNBELIEF IN IT, YOU HAVE TO SEPARATE YOURSELF.

  E-47    Now, Abraham forsaking his people, what did he get in back of it? What come besides that? He become the father of many nations. God made him the father of many nations. What little he gave up, then look what he become. Jesus said, "He who will forsake... Me will have fathers, mothers," and so forth. Look what Abraham got by forsaking all and following Him. Yes, sir, the father of many nations...

  E-48    But first he had to separate himself from all unbelief, and even from his cold, lukewarm, church member brother, Lot. He had to forsake himself for that. Everything that's got unbelief in it, you have to separate yourself. Anything, if it's a creed... If you're in a church, and all you're depending on is a creed, and don't believe the Word, and if the Word's contrary to--the creed's contrary to the Word, you'll have to forsake that. You'll have to forsake everything.

*...FOR THEY FORSOOK THE BOASTING PHYSICIANS TO BE WITH THE GREAT PHYSICIAN.

  E-54    They left them boasting physicians of Egypt, saying, "We are the smartest men in the world today." They left the boasting physicians to be with the Great Physician. Amen. I'd like to see some physician today carry on like that Great Physician did. Them people was in the wilderness for forty years, and they come out without a feeble one among them. There wasn't a feeble person among them, forty years. There was over two million of the people that come out at that time.

How many babies is borned every night? How many sick? And they did... I'd like to go to Dr. Moses, and look in his satchel, and see what kind of prescription he give them. Wouldn't you like to see that? I imagine there's a lot of doctors would like to look in upon that prescription. Well, I can tell you. I've read it. You want me to tell you what it is? "I'm the Lord that heals all thy diseases." That's all he had. That's all he needed, for they forsook the boasting physicians to be with the Great Physician. Yes, sir.

*...THEY FORSOOK THEIR FISH NETS TO WALK WITH HIM...

  E-57    ...The disciples, what did they forsake? They had nets, fish nets. They forsook their fish nets to walk with Him, and see His signs and miracles, and His power of being the Messiah. Anybody that wouldn't give up a day's fishing to follow that, there's something wrong. They left their nets full of fish. They started to pull, and had the biggest catch they ever had. And they forsook every bit of it to follow Him, because they believed in their heart that He was Messiah, and they wanted to follow Him to see if the signs would follow Him as Messiah. And they got to see it.

*I'D FORSAKE ANYTHING IN THE WORLD; I DON'T CARE WHAT IT IS, TO SEE JESUS CHRIST MANIFEST HIMSELF; ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S MANIFESTED IN MY LIFE

  E-58    I'd forsake anything in the world; I don't care what it is, to see Jesus Christ manifest Himself; especially when it's manifested in my life, that I know that I've passed from death unto Life, and I know that He is the Messiah. I know by taking Him at His Word that He has saved me from a life of sin, and I know that the Holy Spirit dwells within me. I see His signs everywhere pointing, that I know that He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. Forsaking all, I'm willing to forsake anything.

*IT MEANS THAT YOU'VE GOT TO TAKE EVERYTHING BETWEEN YOU AND GOD, AND WALK WITH HIM ALONE.

HEBREWS.CHAPTER.SEVEN.1_  JEFF.IN  HEB  SUNDAY_  57-0915E

  38      And God called Abraham to separate himself from all of his kindreds, and to walk with Him. Brother, sometimes it means leaving a church. It meant that to Paul. He had to leave his church. Meant that to many. Sometimes it means to leave home. Sometimes it means to leave father and mother, and forsake all. I don't mean to say it does every time, but sometimes it does. It means that you've got to take everything between you and God, and walk with Him alone. Oh, that blessed, sweet communion, that fellowship that you have when you separate your thing, selves, from the things of the world and the carnal believers who is making fun of you, and walk alone with Christ!

  39      How many times that I've thanked God! He said, "I'll give you fathers and mothers in this present world. I'll give you friends and associates. And I'll never leave you, neither will I forsake you. Though the whole world turns its back on you, I'll go with you, to the end of the way."

40    What a blessed privilege, that man has that challenge to follow the Lord Jesus, to separate himself from all his carnal associates, to follow the Lord. And if any person seems not to behave themself rightly, and to present themselves as Christians, but love the carnal things, it's best for you to hunt another partner right away. That's right. And if no one will walk with you, there is One who promised to walk with you. That's, the blessed Lord Jesus, He will walk with you.

  E-61    I tell you, brethren, sometimes we have to speak against sin; it's not to hurt the person; it's to bring them to recognize, bring them to a spot to recognize. Like our Lord, we don't mean to hurt or be bad; God knows that. That wouldn't--that--never that being my soul, but it's to try to get people to recognize what's going on, what's happening. See? And I do this so that we'll forsake all unbelief, and the things of the world, and come back, and be a real sweet, humble Christian and live for Him.

  E-12    .....And then when I become a minister, I believed that that Word was the Truth. Then I was an outcast in my Baptist church. They said, "You'll be a holy-roller some of these days." So then when I come to find out there was somebody that believed it all like I did, it was just like putting on a glove on a hand. It just fit exactly. So then He said, "If you'll forsake all and follow Me, I will give you mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and so forth, and Life Eternal." So to come among you this way... I love you.

  E-13    Sometimes I preach pretty rough because I--I see that somebody getting out of line. You see, you're supposed to do that. A real daddy will. Why, he'd shake you and say, "Here, get back here in line," if he's a real true father. So sometimes your pastor has to wade down on something. Just love him that much more, because he's a real father to you (You see?), trying to keep you lined up; because he's watching over your soul, which the Holy Ghost has made him the overseer of the church. And you must always watch that.

* AND GOD NEVER DID BLESS ABRAHAM UNTIL HE TOTALLY OBEYED HIM.

  E-49    And God never did bless Abraham until he totally obeyed Him. Abraham wanted to take his daddy along. And the old man was a fly in the ointment all the time. Finally he died. Then Lot, there was strife and everything. And then, as soon as Abraham fully obeyed God and separated himself, and let Lot go on down there in the good lands, wherever he wanted to go, down in Sodom, then God appeared to Abraham, and said, "Lift up your eyes. I give the whole thing to you."

Abraham was the one who separated. He was the one who separated all to follow--to follow God. And he is the father of faith. He is the one that we believe to be the faithful one. The promise was made to Abraham and his seed. We being dead in Christ are Abraham's seed, heirs with Him according to the promise.

82 “But,” you say, “what do I get then, forsaking all? Forsaking all, what do I get?”

83 You can expect the world to make fun of you. You can expect the world to call you all kinds of unhonorable names. They’ll call you anything that they can call you. You’ll be despised and rejected.

84 Jesus, because of Him being Emmanuel, God dwelling in Him, it made Him so odd to His own church till His own church excommunicated Him as soon as He come in. They was the one who hung Him on the cross. They was the one who condemned Him. He loved people. His whole heart was for people. But He had to forsake everything, in order to follow God.

85 And so do we have to forsake everything, in order to follow God.

If God promised to give me the desire of my heart, and the desire of my heart is the right thing, I’ll stay there till God gives it, because it’s a promise. And I’ve forsaken all the world. 8    For instance, you Catholic people here tonight, you remember a few years ago, Joan of Arc, in France, the little lady that was really... She led the revolutionary in France, but she was really a--a servant of Christ. What did your church do to her? Burnt her at the stake, as a witch, because she seen visions and was spiritual. The Catholic Church burnt her, as a witch, at the stake, because she was spiritual and seen visions. A few years afterwards, they found out that that woman was a saint. So of course you done great penance, you dug up those priests' body that condemned her and burnt her, and throwed them into the river. Of course, that, you done great penance for that, for digging up these priests' body.

9      Now, in the days of the prophets, what happened? They did the same thing. They didn't recognize them till they had done come, ministry had finished, took out of that the Elected, and then after they were gone they recognized that there had been a prophet among them.

10    Jesus, He came to the earth. Endowed within Him was the Father, God. "I and My Father are one. My Father dwelleth in Me. It's not Me that doeth the works, but My Father. And if I do not the works of My Father, believe Me not." Now, if you notice when He came, about one--one ninetieth of the world knew that He was even on earth at that time, and yet the Saviour of the world. And then they never recognized Who He was, even the church or no one else, hardly, until they had crucified Him, buried, and rose on the third day, before they ever knowed Who He was.

  11      It comes in and goes out, and people does not recognize it until it's passed, and, they, because that it never fits their theology, it never fits the time of the day. See, what it is, they're always living in a glare of another age, always.

12    The reason they didn't accept Jesus, because they were living in the glare of the Law. And when Jesus came, was not contrary to the Law, but come to fulfill the Law, well, they couldn't accept Him because His Message wasn't exactly the way they had it all creeded out, and it was called then traditions. And He didn't come according to their traditions. He didn't keep their traditions. And really He upset it, and tore it up, and--and done things that was contrary to it, insomuch that they thought He was breaking up the churches. And they couldn't receive Him because of His Message. And we all know today that He come exactly in the line of God's prophecy, but they didn't know it then.

 

*WHY DIDN'T THEY, WHY DIDN'T THEY DO IT? BECAUSE THEY HAD IT FIGURED OUT SOME OTHER WAY.

  14      Now, Jesus being there so Scripturally identified by the Scriptures, and the Scribes and Pharisees of that day could not recognize Him. Why didn't they, why didn't they do it? Because they had it figured out some other way. That's where Jesus told them, "Search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have Eternal Life, and they are they that testify of Me." See? Now He come exactly with the Scriptures. But they had it figured out maybe that if He would come, the Messiah would probably do what Moses did, or what Noah did, build them an ark or something, else. But, reason He come the way He did, they hadn't figured out; in the Scriptures with their traditions, did not teach them; so the people were so confused they didn't know what was going on.

*AND THAT COULD BE THE RAPTURE.

39    Now look. You know, the--the Coming of the Lord is going to be a secret coming. He said, "There will be two in the bed, and I'll take one and leave one," that's where the--the night is. "Two in the field, I'll take one and leave one."

40    You know, there is so many people disappear every day, off the face of the earth, that nobody can account for. One of these days it might be that people might say, "Well, you mean the tribulation, the thing is on us now? I thought the Church was to go before the tribulation." They don't realize and understand that the Rapture could take place and they would know nothing about it; it's the secret going of the Church.

  41      And, think, people will go right on preaching, saying they believe they're getting saved, and adding in the church, and building churches, and going on just like they did in the days of Noah, and so forth, and not know it; and the Rapture done past, "it's already happened and you didn't know it." There is hundreds of people disappear from the earth and people know nothing about where they went to, they can't account for it; somebody was going somewhere, they never hear from them no more. And that could be the Rapture.

  42      I tell you, friends, just because that we are members of the church, or something like that, that doesn't mean too much to us. You better buckle up that armor. You better take that whole Word of God and hold onto It, and quit this Hollywood acting around here. It's got right into the church, and it's a shame. But Hollywood glows, just makes a bright light, and the church today is trying to compare with Hollywood. Christ is not in Hollywood. Christ is in the individual. Hollywood glow or... Hollywood glares, while the Gospel glows with humility. God ain't in these great fine fancy places and all this stuff that we see. He comes in in humility, in form of meekness and gentleness, pass right through.

43    And if you're acquainted with the Word, you'll see It. He that has an eye, to hear, "let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches," see now, now today, which was identified.

*...THE CHURCH IS GETTING SO WORLDLY AND SO INDIFFERENT, AND SO THEIR MINDS SO MUDDLED UP WITH TELEVISION,...AND STAYING HOME. THAT SHOWS WHERE THE PEOPLE'S HEARTS ARE.

  52      Look at the day we're living in, what's promised for this day. Where are we? We've moved on up. The Pillar of Fire moves, and the children of Israel moved with the Pillar of Fire or they went back to Egypt. We have got to move with the Word.

53    And today we're getting so slothful, the church is getting so worldly and so indifferent, and so their minds so muddled up with television, and We Love Sucy and some of these old things, and staying home. That shows where the people's hearts are. And you can tell them these things are wrong, and they think you're crazy. What is it? "Lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God." See?

 

*I THINK THAT OUGHT TO BE THE THRILL OF THE CHURCH, IS THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT; SEEING THE GOD THAT MADE THE PROMISE STANDING AMONG US, FEEL HIS PRESENCE AND SEE HIS WORD...

54    Oh, the greatest pleasure I know of, is to be to pray until I can realize that I'm in the Presence of God, and recognize it. I think that ought to be the thrill of the Church, is the Presence of the Holy Spirit; seeing the God that made the promise standing among us, feel His Presence and see His Word, and see It vindicated. It ought to give faith, to make cripples walk, blind see, deaf hear, dumb speak.

  60      That's the way the church is getting! God has shook every promise in the Bible, before them. Still we just sit and stare, looking. "What? Show me a sign, will you?" And it's going on all the time, right around us. Bringing the Presence of God, it ought to illuminate us. When God made a promise, He stands by that promise. Yes, sir.

73 But that’s exactly what God requires: forsake all and follow Him. That’s God’s requirement. We’ve got to do it too. Sometime we’ve got to forsake our very thoughts. If our thoughts about anything is contrary to God’s Word, we’ve got to forsake our own thinking and follow Him. And the only way we can follow Him is follow His Word, obey It. And God’s request and God’s requirement is that we forsake all and follow Him.
76 Jesus said, or the Scripture says, “He that loves the world, or the things of the world, the love of God is not even in him.” Right. It takes, forsaking all.

77 There, when you are willing to forsake all and follow Him, then, “If ye abide in Me, and My Word in you, you can ask what you will and it will be done for you.” But, you cannot, knowing that those things are wrong. You know they’re wrong.

78 The Bible is against them: card-playing, cigarette-smoking, drinking, wearing immoral clothes. And, then, claiming to be a Christian. If that spirit in you does not condemn that, then there is something wrong with the spirit that’s in you. Because, the God Who wrote the Word is the Word. And the Word is in you, and It condemns you. It’s got to. And if it doesn’t, you’re being deceived. How can the Holy Spirit write something, and you turn around and do contrary to It, and say the Holy Spirit is leading you? You can’t do it. So, smoking cigarettes, drinking whiskey, playing cards, cutting hair, wearing shorts, all these other things, are wrong, sinful wrong, and you’ll never get anywhere until you quit it.

79 .....No wonder we can’t have a worldwide revival. No wonder we can’t have a pentecostal revival. Something has happened. That’s right. We’ve let down the bars, and things are taking place that should not take place. Therefore you must forsake all, to follow Christ.

80 You must forsake your own, your own ideas. You must cope with His Word. And never will the Holy Ghost ever deny any Word It ever spoke. And the Bible is wrote by the Holy Spirit. The Bible said so. And if…The Bible Words is God. “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.”

81 Now the Word is made Spirit, dwelling in us, “For I will be with you, even in you, to the end of the world, the consummation.” Now, if that same God that wrote the Bible is in you, you’re not your own, you’re dead to the things of the world, you’re dead to your own thoughts, and “the mind that—the mind that was in Christ be in you.” There, then you’re forsaking all, to follow Him. Not your own thoughts; what He says. “Not My will; Thine, Lord.” Then you begin to line up with God’s Word.

 *SO JUST REMEMBER, AS LONG AS HE’S BLASTING AT YOU, YOU’RE A FEW JUMPS AHEAD OF HIM YET, AND JUST KEEP ON GOING.

86 We, sometimes, I think we ministers make it a little too much flowers for the—the convert. “Oh, come to Christ, everything is lovely.” But, you see, it isn’t like that, in the way, that saying that everything is a flowery bed of ease. Because, no Christian…

87 The Bible said, “All that live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecutions.” So if—if you’re not suffering persecutions for Christ’s sake, then there is something wrong.
88 If the devil ain’t after you, he’s got you. That’s all, because as long as he’s after you, that’s a sign he hasn’t got you yet. But if he isn’t after you, it’s a sign he has got you. Yeah. So just remember, as long as he’s blasting at you, you’re a few jumps ahead of him yet, and just keep on going.

92 But I want to say this, too. (Hurry up, as quick as we can.) God will not, in no wise, be in debt to any man. God won’t be debted to any man. If you have did that for God, forsaken all, God will repay you a thousand fold. Right. God will pay it back. You forsake the things of the world, and the world, and the things of the world, and God will repay you so many times.

94 Let’s take, first, the father of faith, Abraham. Abraham forsook his own land, the property he owned, and everything else. He was called out of Chaldea, the city of Ur. And he forsook his land, his home, his people, and all, and followed God. He had to forsake everything, leave it behind. He forsook his—his land, his property down in Chaldea, in Ur. He forsaken his property, and God gave him the whole promised land. God pays back with a lot of interest. He gave him, up there that day, when He met him, He said, “Rise up, Abraham. Look east, north, west, south, I give it all to you, it’s all yours.”

95 That’s the matter with Christians tonight. God gives it to us, but we’re afraid to investigate it. When you become a Christian, you’re an heir to every promise in the Bible. That’s right. Everything that God promised, is yours. It’s just like a great big arcade, and by one Spirit we’re all baptized into this arcade, which is Christ. Well, if I…If somebody give me something, I’m going to look around and find out what I own.
