55      Notice now His attribute. Then the attribute was, first, God; the thought, the attribute itself, all in One, without being expressed. Then when He expressed, secondarily, He became then the Word. "And then the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us."

56    Saint John the 1st chapter and the 1st verse, notice, this is, "In the beginning." But, before, the Eternal! Notice, "In the beginning was the Word." When the time begin, it was Word. But before it was Word, it was attribute, a thought. Then it was expressed, "In the beginning was," the expression, "the Word."

Now we're getting where Melchisedec is. That's this mysterious Person. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." "And then the Word became flesh and dwelled among us." Hold that there now, notice.

57    His--His first being was Spirit, God, supernatural, all right, the great Eternal. Second, He begin to form Himself towards flesh, in a theophany, it's called "the Word; a body." This then is the state He was in when He met Abraham, was called Melchisedec. He was in the form of theophany. Now we'll get to that and prove it in a few minutes, the Lord willing. He was the Word.

64      Now, God, in this stage of... It's this stage of His creation, later formed into flesh, Jesus. From what? From the great beginning, Spirit, then came down to be the Word, bringing Itself out. The Word doesn't yet make Itself, it's just spoke out, en morphe, later He becomes flesh, Jesus, mortal, to taste death for all of us sinners.

64   Now, if I come with the message of Pentecost, I would be in the Laodicean Church Age, and it wouldn't be right.

65   That's the reason that Wesley could not take Luther's message. Luther was in one age, church age, and Wesley was in another church age. If Jesus would have come in the... with the message of Moses, it would not have worked. If Moses would have come with the message of Noah, it would not have worked.

66    But God has lotted to His--His--His people, of every age, a Scripture. And before the age can come into existence, into time, then the churches has got it so mixed up that they--they don't know where they're at.

67   That's the reason they fail to recognize Jesus being the Son of God. They, their traditions had blinded their eyes, but He was exactly with the Scripture.

68   The prophets was the same. Jesus said, "Which of you, of your fathers, didn't stone those prophets that were sent to you?" Then God sends His prophet, to... and the prophet is the living Word of God, made manifest.

274    In Revelations 11, call, their ministry will be the ministry of Moses and Elias calling to Israel, out of the Jewish traditions; just as the seventh angel's Message called the Bride out of the Pentecostal tradition. Remember, Moses and Elijah is to call Israel out of the old atonement of the lamb, and sheep, and blood, and goats, and sacrifice, to the real living Sacrifice, to the Word.

224    But when Christ takes you over, He'll express that Word right through you, because it's Him. He is the Word! See? And then you can see the expression of Christ. Not some illusion of some sort, but a real genuine Christ expressing Himself right through you. How beautiful!

72   How does He make His Word known to the people? First, God knowing that there would be unbelievers... Now watch the wisdom of God; knowing there would be unbelievers, and how the majority would be unbelievers. He, by foreknowledge, predestinated a seed for every age, that would believe It. Now if you'll notice in there, for, each age goes right on with His Word, everything right on time, nothing hinders God. He goes right on, and every click is moving just exactly right. We think, sometimes, it's not going to work right. But don't you worry, His clock is timed just exactly to the split instant, and everything's working just exactly right.

69    Just as your natural life and traits is handed down from the natural breeding of your father, so is the Spirit of God, that was predestinated before the foundation of the world.

And when the entire Word of God, in complete, was headed up in a human body called Jesus Christ, in there God made me pay for my sins, in Him there. Then He rose me, raised me up with Him, in the resurrection. And now we are seated with Him, with power and authority over every devil. Oh, if you could only believe what God has given! But if you're not seated there, you don't have it. And if you're seated there, and don't believe it, and afraid to move, you'll never use it. But if you are seated there, you will use it, for you're ordained to do what you do.

And when a man loves a woman and marries her because she's just pretty, there'll be an end to that. But when a man finds a woman that he loves, he don't know why, but he loves her... Because they are from eternity, and they stepped out into space of time, and will return back to eternity. Eternity has dropped down in a body called time, then it goes right back up into eternity again. It cannot perish.

He chose you and sent Jesus that He might be the propitiation of your sins, to call you to reconciliation, to Himself, to love. Oh, wish we had just a few more minutes' time.

99    Let me, before we go any farther, go back, Genesis 1:26. I'll pick it up Wednesday. When God made man... Before He made man, He called Himself "El," E-l, El; E-l-h, "Elah," "Elohim." The word means, in the Hebrew, "the self-existence," all by Himself. Nothing existed before Him. He was all the existence there ever was, self-existent One: "El, Elah, Elohim," means the "all-sufficient, all-powerful, Almighty, self-existent One." Oh.

69   And all of our bodies, that we live in now, was put on the earth when God created it, because you're out of the dust of the earth. It was all laid out here. When God Himself create it, you were in His thinking. And in Him, the Great Eternal, was the thought, which is His attribute.

70   And now sin caused all this to happen. And God, through this age, is gathering up His material.

71   Satan is still here. That's the reason all these things happen. He is still here, and all of his evil forces are still here. Notice, that's why the earth now is so filthy. That's why the scum and ridiculous things that goes on; bloodshed, war, politics, sin, adultery, all kinds of filthiness goes on, is because that Satan is the ruler of this earth and this atmosphere.

72   Both the heavens and earth now is contaminated with devils that can accuse us before God. Jesus is There to intercede for us. See? While the accusers keep pointing a finger, "they did this, they did this, they did this," but the Blood still covers. He came to redeem that Elected that He foresaw. That's why it's so filthy today.

87   Now, the first step is "repentance towards God." And then follows after that, is water baptism, "water baptism," "Repent, and be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ." See, water baptism follows, showing that repentance was genuine. Or, to "remit" our past sins, that has nothing to do with future sin. It only remits. "Repent, and be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ." What for? "Remission." Taking away of past sin has nothing to do with the future. Just, your sin has been chopped off, what you did.

88   You can't repent for what Adam done. You never done it; Adam did. You just get forgiveness for what you done. The old nature is still there.

89   Let me take this board just a minute. [Brother Branham draws illustrations on the blackboard--Ed.] Now, here is a human heart. Now, I'm not... I'm a long ways from being an artist. Here is a human heart; and here is a human heart. Now, this one over here has a snake in it, that's sin, here he has his life. This one over here has a dove in it, which is the Holy Spirit, here he has a Life. Well, this one here, he has malice, hatred, envy; that's what's causing it, is this fellow here. Well, this one over here has love, and joy, and long-suffering; and That's what does it, down here.

95   Now notice, sanctification, the third stage... second stage of it, cleanses the mind; sets the heart, the mind of the heart, in order of holiness.

96   A man can repent of sins and he is still thinking of... Well, maybe he's a--a immoral man, every immoral looking woman he finds, is still there. Maybe he's a drunkard; every time he smells the drink, it's still there. See?

97   But then when he gets sanctified, that cleanses that desire out of him. See? It takes the want of it away. He can still be tempted, but He takes the want of it away. Still, he's not right yet.

98   Then, he is baptized with the Holy Ghost and Fire. Cleansed, burnt out, cleaned up; and then put into the service of God.

Sanctification only sets them aside for service.

99   And notice just exactly how that come, the messages coming. Martin Luther, justification; John Wesley, sanctification; the pentecostal, the baptism of the Holy Ghost. The messages, that's where there can't be no more ages of it, see. We're at the end time. Three stages. Baptism cleanses the heart with the Holy Ghost.

Gen 1:26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

E-23    Now, faith is a conqueror; faith is an overcomer. It just isn't a--a peace maker, it overcomes. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. What does it do? What is faith? What is the conqueror? Conquer and victory is the same. To conquer, it means to beat down, to override, to handcuff, to throw into prisons. It means that the sin, that once ruled you, you rule it now. It means that you have overcome it, you are--you've whipped it. You're greater than it is. Oh, I feel religious, right now.

And I want to take my subject, this morning, of this: How Can I Overcome? Now, I chose this because that I think that it's a time that we should never let the Spirit of revival die. We've got to keep in revival, constantly revived, every day. Paul said he had to "die daily, that Christ could live." And we must never let that revival die, within us.

Now, Revelations, the 3rd chapter, and beginning with the 21st verse, we read this.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I... overcome, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

34    Did you notice the--the 'rangements of that? See? "Set with Me in My throne," not "on My throne." "In My throne," that's in His domain. See? And now, as--as Christ is the Ruler, throne Ruler at this time, of the complete domain of God, so will the Church be with Him, the Bride be with Him, in His throne, in the entire domain. See? Not "on My throne," but "in My throne," see, where His domain reaches. A throne is over a domain, and--and a domain reaches just as far as its boundaries does. And this is from Eternity to Eternity. Just think of it!

Not Jezebels of the street, and Rickies of the organization; but Christian gentlemen, sons and daughters of God, borned of the Spirit of God, manifesting the Light in our days and scattering It. That's exactly right.

112      "I got the baptism, the Holy Spirit." That still has nothing to do with it. That's just only a temporal gift for you.

The real gift is your soul down in there, see, that was born of God, and that controls the whole thing to the Word of God and the will of God. And there you grow up, see, then you're a son and daughter of God. You're a child of God. And these things, as you come up... Like the mother, now you're in the bowels of the earth, trying to come forth. You're a son of God, coming forth, and you see the Word says, "I should do this. I should be born-again."

"Well, I belong to church." That don't mean one thing. See?

113    "Well, my, I'm Pentecostal. I belong." That, if you don't line with that Word, there is something wrong. See? Then, you see, your real father ain't God. See? Because, that real start in your soul, before there even was a spirit, it was your soul. That soul didn't come from God, then it wasn't a germ of God, to begin. You're deceived. You're in a patch of weeds and bearing the world's record of the weeds coming forth. Acting like the world, loving the world, is because the love of God is not in you.

You have to be reunited, again, with another Nature.

214      Your name of your first nature, was born, and put in a book of life. All your deeds was wrote in it, too. Everything you done under that nature was put in a book, called the book of life.

215    You notice, in Daniel, when he come to "the Ancient of Days, Whose hair was as white as wool. Ten thousand times ten thousands came with Him, to minister to Him; the--the Bride. And then the books were opened." "And another Book was opened, which was the Book of Life." See? There is saints already there, the Church, the Bride. "Another Book was opened, which was the Book of Life."

216      Now, you, but when you were separated from that union, by spiritual death. Your natural desire is to cut your hair. Your natural desire is to wear shorts, paint your face. Your natural desire is to be intellectual, smart man, know something better than the other. That's what Eve wanted. That's the very thing she wanted.

217    "Well, say! You little two bit, two-by-four preacher, stand up there and tell me? I've got a Ph.D., LL." That just makes you farther away from God, every time you add one thing. See? See? That's right. It's true. See?

44    Like in the Book here, and the spot there we was talking about the--the two Books being One, the Book of Life. The first Book of life coming up, was when you were born, that was your natural birth. See? But then one time, way back down in there, there was a little grain of Life as I was explaining to some of the young sisters at the house this afternoon. See, there's a little grain of Life laying there, that you wonder, "Where did It come from? What--what these strange things?"

See, "the Father," the part of the Body of Christ that's in the world, predestinated, put into the heart.

121    You are here because your name was placed on the Lamb's Book of Life before there was even a foundation of the world. That's exactly right. You're a gene, a spiritual gene out of your Heavenly Father, a part of God's Word. That be so, as I've said, then you was with Jesus when He was here because He was the Word: you suffered with Him, died with Him, buried with Him, and rose with Him, and now setting in Heavenly places in Him!

162      The choice of your conduct. You could... You can't mix it now. You're either for God or against God, and the outward expressions shows exactly what's on the inside. See? The cocklebur... Many of you think, "I got the baptism of the Holy Ghost, I'm going to Heaven." That don't mean one thing that you're going to Heaven. No, sir. You can have the baptism of the Holy Ghost every hour in your life, and still be lost and go to hell. The Bible says so. Uh-huh, that's exactly right.

163      Look here, you are a outside person. You have five senses that contacts that outside body. God gave you five senses; not to contact Him, your earthly home: see, taste, feel, smell, and hear.

164    Then you have a spirit on the inside of that, and it has five outlets: conscience, and love, and so forth. Five outlets that you contact the spirit world with that, but with your spirit.

165    Your physical contacts the physical. Your spiritual contacts the spiritual. But inside of that you've got a soul, and that soul is that gene that come from God.

70      Then I've got to tell God the same way. And tell both her and God, with the sincerity, that I'll never do it again, by the grace of God. See? Don't just really... Now, I might be able to put it over her, and she (see?) won't see. Maybe my speech to her would--would convince her, but my speech won't convince God. He looks in my heart and He knows. And after all, just a few more years with her, if God permits, and we'll be taken out of this world. But with God, it's Eternity, so I must be deeply sincere with God. And then if I am sincere, He'll hear me. But if I'm not sincere, there's no need of me wasting God's time listening to me.

71    And that's where it's come to today, amongst people, there doesn't seem to be the depths of sincerity that--that they ought to have.

72    And I believe that a man or woman corning to be prayed for, should first confess everything that they have did, and make everything right. Because, you see, you notice lots of times on the platform, you notice, watch how far away that THUS SAITH THE LORD is. See? See? The people, the vision will materialize, of course, with their faith, God promised that by a gift. But the healing is something different, see; God recognizes it then, see.

107      Our confessions today has begin to come just like a--a I-don't- know-what, some riddle or something. We go down and pray a prayer about two minutes long, and get back up; do something wrong, say, "O Lord, You know I didn't mean to do that, but, hallelujah, I'm alright," go along. No, that's not it, brother.

108    You've got to be godly sorry. You've got to confess that thing. You've got to make it right. You cannot do it... Jesus said, "When you go to the altar, remember the brother has ought against you, go to him first before you offer your gift here, be reconciled with the brother." See? It's becoming us, to us, that we fulfill all righteousness.

86      Now, the Holy Spirit is here on earth, looking out those individuals that God has ordained to Life in this age. Now, that quickening power that come upon Jesus quickened Him to manifest every promise of the Word of that day. It'll manifest the promise of this hour.

100      Notice, we find today that people... There's many people just can't believe It, even Spirit-filled people. I'm going to give you one that'll choke you. The baptism of the Holy Ghost don't mean you're going in, not at all, not on that, don't have anything to do with your soul. That's the baptism, see. Here's the inside soul, in here, that has to come from God. But then on the outside you have five senses, and five out... inlets to your... contact your earthly home. The inside, you have a spirit, and in there you have five outlets: your conscience, and love, and so forth, five outlets to that spirit. Remember, in that spirit you can be baptized with the genuine Spirit of God and still be lost. It's the soul that lives, that was ordained of God.

Well, now that's a hard one. But the first thing you are, a triune being, just like Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Father, Son, and Holy Ghost is three titles going to one Person, which is Jesus Christ. And you're soul, body, and spirit. But it takes those three to make you. With just one of them, you're not you. It takes the three to make you.

Like I said the other day, "This is my hand; this is my finger; this is my nose; this is my eyes; but who's me?" Who is me that this belongs to? It's what's on the inside of me; that's the--the intelligence.

If this eyes, if this hands, if this body stood here just as it is today, yet I--I could... My body could be here, but me could be gone, what I am. What--whoever I am inside of me has gone on. 50    And that's the way it is with every born-again believer. You can hear all the theology you want to, and all the man-made discrepancy; but when that Word flashes out there, then there is something takes a hold, you come to It. "You who were once dead in sin (that life) has He quickened." There has to be a Life there to quicken to, first. God, by His foreknowledge, knowed all things. 51      Look at Paul, when Paul was a great theologian. But when he come face to face with that Word, Jesus, it quickened. He come to Life right quick, because he was ordained to be that. The... He was part of the Word; and when the Word saw the Word, it was his nature. All the clucking of the hens, in the orthodox churches, didn't have no effect upon him; he had saw the Word. 110    Church members want a denomination filter so that they can have their own desire and still be classed "religious" people. You hear them say, "Oh, he's very religious."

139    It is the Word Itself in your heart, predestinated there, that's drawing. And it spits out that world; it don't want it. But when it gets over here in the Word, it begins to draw. And when it draws through the Word, it can be nothing else but the Holy Ghost to quicken that Word.

181    The Word, if you are predestinated, you see It. There's no way to hide It from you. You look there and say, "Why, It's just so plain before my face! I'd look at It; there It is. And when you breathe through That, what can come through That, God's Filter? Nothing but the Spirit; no world, at all; no unbelief, at all. It's God's Filter. And when you breathe through That, nothing can get through That but the Holy Ghost.

190      What a rebuke to Christianity! We're supposed to represent God and Eternal Life. There's only one form of Eternal Life, and that's God. He alone has Eternal Life.   79    The Deity of Him, Who is He? Some of them thinks Him a little baby back there. He's the One that stood on the invisible (oh, my) platform, reached out His hands, and spoke, and said, "Let there be light," and there was light. That was Jesus Christ. "For He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world recognized Him not." He was, and He's the Deity of God. Look what He did back there. Talk about the miraculous back there, you talk about shouting? When He performed the miraculous things, to make things which are now, out of things which was not, He spoke and it was so.

  80    And that same power, that same Christ... Hallelujah. Let the fundamentalists, let them people who deny the power of God say it's wrong; but that same power that spoke the world into existence is in those people that's got the Holy Ghost. That's right. Men and women, it's time that we found out who you are. The devil's trying to hide you back, tell you that you're some little trod-down something. You're not. You're sons and daughters of God. The Deity is not in heaven; it's in you. Hallelujah.

I know you think I'm crazy, but let me tell you something, brother. When you realize that Almighty God lives in you, Immortal Life. "My Life, I give Zoe," the Life of God is in the human being.

 

1Co 3:18  Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 

1Co 3:19  For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 

1Co 3:20  And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. 

1Co 3:21  Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; 

1Co 3:22  Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; 

1Co 3:23  And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.
