26-0508A_DESPERATIONS

26-0508A_DESPERATIONS

Jer 29:10  For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.
Jer 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Jer 29:12  Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

Luk 16:16  The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

*...IT TAKES A STATE OF EMERGENCY, TO THROW US INTO DESPERATION... WHEN, WE OUGHT TO DO IT WITHOUT THE EMERGENCY.

DESPERATIONS_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-1  SUNDAY_  63-0901E

45      Now we're going to talk on--on Desperations for a few minutes now. Usually, it takes a state of emergency, to throw us into desperation. See? It's too bad it has to do that, but human beings are so slothful in their mind, that it takes an emergency. Something arises, and when they do, then it--it throws them into that desperation. And really, in doing that in desperation, it brings out that real thing that you are. It shows what you're made out of, in the time of desperation. It usually pulls out all the good things that's in you.

DESPERATIONS_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-1  SUNDAY_  63-0901E

46      In time of death, I've heard people when they knowed they were dying, the things that they kept secret all their life, they, in desperation, they were trying to confess it. See? And trying, "Take this and make it right; go, please; go, do," see, in desperation. They ought to have done that beforehand, see, not wait till the time of emergency. "Will you do so-and-so for me?" The emergency causes desperation. When, we ought to do it without the emergency.

*AND WHILE THEY WERE UNDER THE SIGN OF THE TOKEN, THEY'VE TAKEN THE COMMUNION IN--IN DESPERATION...

DESPERATIONS_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-1  SUNDAY_  63-0901E

47      Now we notice, tonight, that we're taking the symbols of the Passover. And the Passover was taken in emergency, in times of desperation. You notice in--in Exodus the 12th chapter, and the 11th verse of the 12th chapter, I believe it is, it says, "Eat this Passover with the shoes on your feet, with your loins girded up, and with the staff in your hand," see, you're eating it in desperation.

DESPERATIONS_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-1  SUNDAY_  63-0901E

48      They had seen the great hand of God. They had saw all of His miracles, and then they had come under the sign of the Token. And while they were under the sign of the Token, they've taken the communion in--in desperation, for they knew at that time God was fixing to strike with judgment.

49    And it was a shaking time. It was a time where every man was examining himself, because the Word of the prophet had not failed one time. It had been proven to be true. Whatever he said, it happened just exactly the way he said it. The Pillar of Fire was still there. And, then, the prophet had announced that God would only pass over when He saw the token at the door. And it was a desperation.

DESPERATIONS_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-1  SUNDAY_  63-0901E

50      I would imagine the children were... when they saw those big, black wings drop down from the sky like a smoke settling over the city, the screams coming from every house, the children might have went to their daddy and said, "Daddy, are you sure that we're under that token?"

And he could go to the door, look upon the post, the lintel, said, "Son, that's according to His Word."

"Remember, I'm your oldest child. Daddy, are you positive?"

51    "I am positive! That's according to what the prophet told us, and he has the Word of the Lord. Said, 'When I see the blood, I'll pass over you. Take a lamb for the house.' I've brought all you children in. You're my oldest, but my firstborn. That's the one that's dying all out in there; but there is the blood. That's what THUS SAITH THE LORD was. So rest, my son, rest at ease, because God made the promise. See?"

"Well, Daddy, why you got your shoes on? Why you got the staff in your hand? Why have you got a piece of bread in one hand and a lamb in the other hand? Why is them bitter herbs and things? What are you eating it? What's the sweat running off your face about?"

"Son, death is fixing to strike." See, it was in a time of desperation.

*THE DAYS THAT WE'RE LIVING IN SHOULD CAUSE THE CHURCH TO GO COMPLETELY INTO DESPERATION.

DESPERATIONS_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-1  SUNDAY_  63-0901E

52      Now, I believe that we're living in the days that we're... Or, otherwise, the days that we're living in should cause the Church to go completely into desperation. I believe, since the message this morning from God, not me, I believe it ought to throw this entire congregation into desperation, that we have played long enough. We've went to church long enough. We got to do something.

53    How is it that we can see other great signs and wonders done on others, and what about us? It should cause an estate of desperation, that we are determined, before God. The signs of His Coming should bring this entire congregation, when we've read it from the Word... And the Holy Spirit has told us, "Go at a certain place, such-and-such a thing will happen," not tell us what it was, but it would happen. We go there, it happens that way. The newspapers pack it, the magazines pack it, show the picture of it. Come back here and see those great mysteries, hidden in the Bible, opened up to us, on a new field that we never knowed before, and perfectly blends in to the Coming of the Lord Jesus.

* IT SHOULD THROW US INTO DESPERATION, THAT, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, WE'LL NOT BE LEFT BACK BEHIND.

DESPERATIONS_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-1  SUNDAY_  63-0901E

55      Those people had seen the hand of God. And that night of the communion, they took it with... in desperation, because they knowed that something was fixing to happen. And we know something is fixing to happen. And remember, the Coming of the Lord will be a sudden, secret going away. He'll come and take Her like a thief in the night. And to think that if somebody, all of a sudden, there is members of our family gone, and you're left behind! It should throw us into desperation, that, by the grace of God, we'll not be left back behind. "If there's anything I don't want... Don't, don't leave me, Lord."

*SIGNS OF HIS COMING SHOULD THROW EVERY MEMBER OF CHRIST INTO DESPERATION NOW, ABOUT OUR SOULS

DESPERATIONS_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-1  SUNDAY_  63-0901E

61      Desperation. Signs of His Coming should throw every member of Christ into desperation now, about our souls, about our--our--our welfare for hereafter. Well, what are we going to amount to if we gain the whole world? What are we, what are we living for? What do you work for? What are you eating for? What are you struggling for? To live. What are you living for? To die. And you're not fit to live until you're fit to die. It's true.

Psa 143:1  A Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
Psa 143:2  And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
Psa 143:3  For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
Psa 143:4  Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.
Psa 143:5  I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.
Psa 143:6  I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.
Psa 143:7  Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
Psa 143:8  Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

Psa 84:1  To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!
Psa 84:2  My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
Psa 84:3  Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.
Psa 84:4  Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.
Psa 84:5  Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
Psa 84:6  Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
Psa 84:7  They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
Psa 84:8  O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
Psa 84:9  Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
Psa 84:10  For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Psa 84:11  For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
Psa 84:12  O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Psa 119:131  I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments.
Psa 119:132  Look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy name.
Psa 119:133  Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
Psa 119:134  Deliver me from the oppression of man: so will I keep thy precepts.
Psa 119:135  Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; and teach me thy statutes.
Psa 119:136  Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.
Psa 119:137  TZADDI. Righteous art thou, O LORD, and upright are thy judgments.

Psa 42:1  To the chief Musician, Maschil, for the sons of Korah. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
Psa 42:2  My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?

26-0504P_HIS UNFAILING WORDS OF PROMISE PT-5

26-0504P_HIS UNFAILING WORDS OF PROMISE PT-5

Mat 24:32  Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

Heb 13:8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Heb 13:9  Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

Ecc 3:1  To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecc 3:2  A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
Ecc 3:3  A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
Ecc 3:4  A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
Ecc 3:5  A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
Ecc 3:6  A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
Ecc 3:7  A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
Ecc 3:8  A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Ecc 3:9  What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
Ecc 3:10  I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
Ecc 3:11  He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
Ecc 3:12  I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
Ecc 3:13  And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
Ecc 3:14  I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
Ecc 3:15  That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
Ecc 3:16  And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
Ecc 3:17  I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

Luk 21:32  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
Luk 21:33  Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Mat 24:35  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

THE.INFALLIBILITY.OF.GOD'S.SPOKEN.WORD_CHICAGO.IL WEDNESDAY_  56-0404

E-4    You know, I--I was telling the boys awhile ago coming over, I said about how we must be happy all the time. God don't want you to be sad. You know what ill temper does? And that old temper, that's one of the awfullest old things. And it--it's about sixty percent of the cause of all sickness is temper. Yes, sir, them tam--tantrums you fly loose, remember, you just developing a cancer, ulcer, or something like, when you do it. When you get all stewed up about somebody, "I won't go back there any more. Wait till I give them a piece of my mind." All right. Remember, you're the one's going to pay for it. Just keep happy.

The little story, said there was a little robin one morning, setting up on a limb, whistling over to his little mate. The little mate flew down by him and said, "You know, I'm so--I'm so worried this morning about one thing."

Said, "What?" Said, "We robins never worry."

*WE'RE THE ONE WHO UPSETS THE WORLD. GOD MADE IT WONDERFUL AND BEAUTIFUL FOR US.

THE.INFALLIBILITY.OF.GOD'S.SPOKEN.WORD_CHICAGO.IL  WEDNESDAY_  56-0404

E-5    "But I just wonder if those poor creatures, the human beings, that frown on their faces, they walk, I wonder, maybe they haven't got a heavenly Father that watches over them like we have, us robins."

That's about it. You never heard of one of them having high blood pressure, did you? No. No, you don't hear no ambulance ringing for them, or so forth (You see?), they--they live in God's true provided way. It's always us that makes things wrong. We're the one who knows science, you know; we're the smart folks. And so they... we... The birds don't change. You know the birds still build their nests just like they did in the garden of Eden; they never change. See? We're the ones who change. The Jewish brother... Now, if there's a Jew here I don't mean this; I'm a Jew too. So you know, he said, "Well," he said, "the trouble is the people." See? He said, "The bird fly down in the road to get a bug. The car runs over him." Said--said, "It's the people." So that's right too. "The bird had a right to the bug, but--but the people invented a automobile and run over him." You see, he said, "It's the people." And that's wrong. We're the one who upsets the world. God made it wonderful and beautiful for us. But we upset it by our ways. We're so scientific, you know; everything must be just this way, way we think it.

* I SAID, "I CAN SHOW YOU A BOOK THAT'LL NEVER CHANGE. AND WHAT IT SAYS THERE, IT'LL BE JUST THE SAME FOREVER."

THE.INFALLIBILITY.OF.GOD'S.SPOKEN.WORD_CHICAGO.IL  WEDNESDAY_  56-0404

E-7    Mr. Moore's boy has graduated in science and made some kind of a--a honor, or something, and some great scientist come, and I was having a meeting in Shreveport at the time. And he give him this honor, and when he embraced him, he said, "Now, son," said, "in--in the Hall of Science," said, "there's so many books on modern science," he said, "if you'd read them all, it'd probably take you," I forget how many years, so many years three or four years to read all through the latest volumes of the science. Said, "When you got through all of it, all you learned you'd have to get it out of your mind, 'cause it'd be changed by that time." (See?) of modern science (See?), they're all changed over. See?

THE.INFALLIBILITY.OF.GOD'S.SPOKEN.WORD_CHICAGO.IL  WEDNESDAY_  56-0404

E-8    I never said nothing. I waited to that night, 'cause he was going to attend service. I made a... I said, "You know what? I heard that statement made today," but I said, "I want to tell you something boys." I said, "I can show you a Book that'll never change. And what It says there, It'll be just the same forever." That's right. So let's--let's stick with This. This is right. God said way He did things, just right.

Here some time ago I see where science proved that--that it was wrong when Abraham said he had camels down in Gerar, down in there, you know, and so forth. No, never was a camel down in there.

Well, you know, they got to digging around with an old spade down there one day, and really found out there was some camels been down in there. You see?

*IT'S GRACE THAT BRINGS YOU TO GOD; IT'S THE WORKS THAT--THAT YOU DO FOR GOD.

THE.INFALLIBILITY.OF.GOD'S.SPOKEN.WORD_CHICAGO.IL  WEDNESDAY_  56-0404

E-22    "Those who He has called, He hath already justified: those who He had justified, He had already glorified." That's right. See? There's where we get grace and works mixed up. Here's the whole thing in the Arminian and Calvinistic belief. Grace is what God does for you; works is what you do for God. See? It's grace that brings you to God; it's the works that--that you do for God. See?

Now, as Abraham was justified by faith, because he believed in God. Paul justified him by faith; James turns over and justifies him by works. But Paul was speaking what God saw, and James was speaking what man saw. If you say you are a believer, and then act contrary to what you say, then you're not a believer. See? If you tell God, "Yes, I now solemnly believe." Brother, you can't do nothing but act the same way you believe. That's right. You say, "Lord, my hand's crippled, but something in my heart tells me that You're the Lord that's healed me. Oh, I believe it, God, with all my heart." You can't do nothing but watch that hand move a few inches every day. See, that's it. You can't do nothing else. See? And God's obligated to that Word to watch over It.

* NO MAN HAS SOUGHT GOD AT ANY TIME. BUT IT'S GOD SEEKING MAN, NOT MAN SEEKING GOD, GOD SEEKING MAN.

THE.INFALLIBILITY.OF.GOD'S.SPOKEN.WORD_CHICAGO.IL  WEDNESDAY_  56-0404

E-23    From the beginning God... We'll take, for instance, the patriarch Jacob. He was a wondering boy; he was run away boy; he'd run away from home because he was afraid that--that Esau was going to kill him because of something that he had done. And he run away from home. Yet that boy was anchored in God by a Divine promise that was made to Abraham. That's right.

And just the same promise that laid anchored in Jacob, lays anchored in every born again believer tonight. God calls sovereignly without anything you done about it; there's nothing you done. Men say, "Oh, I sought God." No man has sought God at any time. But it's God seeking man, not man seeking God, God seeking man. Jesus said, "No man can come to Me except My Father draws him first." You get it? It has to be God drawing man.

* MAN IN HIS NATURE IS A--A CASTAWAY. HE'S AN ALIEN; HE'S AWAY FROM GOD. THEN GOD BY GRACE HAS TO DRAW HIM TO HIS OWN SIDE.

THE.INFALLIBILITY.OF.GOD'S.SPOKEN.WORD_CHICAGO.IL  WEDNESDAY_  56-0404

E-24    Man in his nature is a--a castaway. He's an alien; He's away from God. Then God by grace has to draw him to His own side. "And all that the Father has given Me will come to Me." No way at all, there ain't enough picture shows, enough dance halls, enough burlesque shows in the country to keep you away from God. When God goes to drawing back yonder before the foundation of the world when He put your name down that you'd come, you're coming, that's all; that's all.

* IT NEEDS NO INTERPRETER, FOR THE BIBLE SAID THAT GOD DOES HIS OWN INTERPRETING OF THE BIBLE.

CHRIST.IS.REVEALED.IN.HIS.OWN.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-10  SUNDAY_  65-0822M

135      Now we find out then, that, "An Angel would preach anything else," besides what's...?... already been said in the Bible, "let him be cursed." Nobody can. Can't do that; It must be just exactly the way It says.

136    And again we read, in Revelations 22:18 and 19, "If any man will add one word to This, or take one Word from It, God will take his part out of the Book of Life." Right. God will take his part, though he be a minister, whatever he may be, and his word... his name is wrote on the Book of Life. God said, "I'll just rub it right off," that's right, "if he adds one thing to It, or takes one Word from It." That's how infallible God has made His Word. See? You can add to the church, or take from the church. Don't you add to that Word, or take from It, 'cause God will take your name right off the Book of Life. And, that's, you're finished then. See? You can't add to It, or take from It. It's just exactly what...

* AND ALL THE SCRIPTURE IS DIVINELY GIVEN, DIVINELY SET IN ORDER, AND THE WHOLE THING IS THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST.

CHRIST.IS.REVEALED.IN.HIS.OWN.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-10  SUNDAY_  65-0822M

137      It needs no interpreter, for the Bible said that God does His Own interpreting of the Bible. "It's of no private interpretation," said Peter. All right.

138    And all the Scripture is Divinely given, Divinely set in order, and the whole thing is the revelation of Jesus Christ. The New and Old Testament, where they foretold of Him coming, what He would do when He got here, and what He would do in this age to come. So that makes Him the same yesterday, today, and forever. See?

Like in Hebrews there, when Paul wrote it. He is God, "Jesus Christ yesterday," of the Old Testament. He is "Jesus Christ today," manifested in the flesh. "And He's Jesus Christ forever," in the Spirit, "to come." See? See? "Same yesterday, today, and forever."

And He ever lives to make His Word live what It said It would do for that age. He is alive.

33-3    THE.REVELATION.OF.JESUS.CHRIST  -  CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.1

We now come to a conclusion, such conclusion as we have already found in the Word. As much as we believe in trying to find the oldest and best manuscripts to get the best record of the Word possible, we will never get the true meaning of it by study and comparison of Scriptures, sincere as we may be. IT WILL TAKE A REVELATION FROM GOD TO BRING IT OUT. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT PAUL SAID, "WHICH THINGS WE ALSO SPEAK, NOT IN WORDS WHICH MAN'S WISDOM TEACHETH, BUT WHICH THE HOLY GHOST TEACHETH." I Cor. 2:15. The true revelation is God interpreting His own Word by vindicating what is promised.

*... WE HAVE THE INFALLIBLE WORD OF GOD TODAY AND NO MAN DARES TAKE FROM IT OR ADD TO IT. BUT WE NEED THE SAME SPIRIT THAT GAVE IT, TO TEACH IT TO US.

  33-4    THE.REVELATION.OF.JESUS.CHRIST  -  CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.1

Now don't let anyone be misled by what I have said and think that I do not believe in the accuracy of the Word as we now have it. I believe this Bible is accurate. Jesus completely authenticated the Old Testament when here on earth and it was compiled exactly as was our New Testament. Make no mistake about it, we have the infallible Word of God today and no man dares take from it or add to it. But we need the same Spirit that gave it, to teach it to us.

  34-1    THE.REVELATION.OF.JESUS.CHRIST  -  CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.1

Oh, how we need revelation by the Spirit. We don't need a new Bible, we don't need a new translation, though some are very good, and I am not against them, BUT WE NEED THE REVELATION OF THE SPIRIT. And thank God, we can have what we need, for God wants to reveal His Word to us by His Spirit.

26-0501A_TAKING GOD AT HIS WORD PT-5 (STAYING WITH CHRIST IN THE WORD)

26-0501A_TAKING GOD AT HIS WORD PT-5 (STAYING WITH CHRIST IN THE WORD)

Mat 4:23  And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Mat 4:24  And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

Heb 12:8  But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Heb 12:9  Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
Heb 12:10  For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
Heb 10:16  This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

*... GOD DOESN'T TEMPT MEN, BUT GOD TRIES MEN, TESTS THEM. GOD CANNOT TEMPT YOU, BUT GOD CAN TEST YOU.

GOD.IN.HIS.WORD_  OAKLAND.CA  SATURDAY_  57-0323

E-14    Now, God doesn't tempt men, but God tries men, tests them. God cannot tempt you, but God can test you. And every son that cometh to God must be tested or child-trained before he can be a son. And if we can't stand chastisement, the Bible said we become illegitimate children and not the children of God, 'cause a child of God is borned of God, and he will stand the test anywhere, any time, on any condition (That's right.), a child that's borned of God. He that's borned of God, does not commit sin.

*BUT GOD GAVE MAN A LEADER, THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND WE TURN HIM DOWN. NO WONDER WE'RE IN TROUBLE ALL THE TIME.

GOD.IN.HIS.WORD_  OAKLAND.CA  SATURDAY_  57-0323

E-19    How I love to watch Him in the sunrises and the sunsets. I like to watch Him in His universe. Let's see if He deals and dwells in His universe. How does this world stand here and can be timed for a hundred years when the moon and sun will pass each other? What controls that?

I want to ask you something. I watch wild nature, wild animals. I go way up in the northland on a hunting trip, and while I'm up there, I begin to notice the little ducks that go up into the northland, and they make their nest, up there in the slime, and lay their eggs, and the little ducklings are born. They're raised on that little pond.

Them great big ducks by the time fall of the year comes, and the first time there comes a snow across that mountain, and they freezes, that cold breeze comes down into that pond there's a certain little duck on that pond. He never left there in his life. He was born there. All he knows is that pond, but he will run right out on that pond, stick that little honker up in the air, make three or four honks, and every duck on the pond will come right to him. And he will raise off of that pond, and go just as straight to Louisiana, as he can go without a compass.

*BUT GOD GAVE MAN A LEADER, THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND WE TURN HIM DOWN. NO WONDER WE'RE IN TROUBLE ALL THE TIME.

GOD.IN.HIS.WORD_  OAKLAND.CA  SATURDAY_  57-0323

E-20    Brother, if God isn't in His universe... Surely we ought to have as good intelligence as a duck, but you see duck knows his leader, but man doesn't. God gave a duck an instinct to get away from there, and get away from the freeze, and the duck listens to his leader. But God gave man a Leader, the Holy Spirit, and we turn Him down. No wonder we're in trouble all the time.

Watch God in His universe. You go out here and read the newspaper. And the newspaper will say, "Tomorrow it's going to be pretty weather." And you watch that old sow take the shucks off of the north side of the hill and bring them over on the south side of the hill; don't you pay any attention to what that news commentator's saying. That hog knows more about it than he will ever know and that's right. Certainly. She's got an instinct that God gave her, and she abides by it. But we've got an instinct, not an instinct, but a Leadership, and we're afraid of It. That's the difference.

*HOW THAT GOD DWELLS IN NATURE, HIS UNIVERSE.

GOD.IN.HIS.WORD_  OAKLAND.CA  SATURDAY_  57-0323

E-21    How that God dwells in nature, His universe. How He makes the big hills and the little hills. I have noticed all how... He's a God of variety. He makes white flowers, and blue flowers, and red flowers. He makes little men, big men, black-headed, red-headed, blond-headed; light people, dark people, brown people, black people. He's a God of variety. He's not a Sears and Roebuck harmony house. He is absolutely a God of variety, and I'm glad that He is. He's in His nature, His universe.

How he makes every star to move to its perfection. Everything in the heavens will move at His command. But the man that He made in His image, will turn his back and say, "I don't believe it." That's the difference. That's the reason we're in the condition we are, because ducks know their leader, but we don't know our Leader.

*IF GOD MADE A WAY FOR A FLOWER TO LIVE AGAIN, WHAT ABOUT A MAN THAT'S MADE IN HIS IMAGE?

GOD.IN.HIS.WORD_  OAKLAND.CA  SATURDAY_  57-0323

E-22    Notice. One day I was... I'd go to the mountains, not so much to hunt the wild game, but to be alone. My mother's almost a half Cherokee Indian. And the... My conversion never took that love of the wild out of me. I love it, 'cause I see God in His universe. It was my first teacher to set down by mother nature, and she's taught me of the things of God.

I watch a little flower how it dies and goes into the ground. It may be young. It may be old. But when the frost hits it, it bows its head, commits itself to death. They'll have a funeral procession. The stars weep, and the rains fall. It buries the little flower--the little seed, and all the seed's gone, freezes, bursts open, pulp runs out, stalk's gone, petals gone. Is the flower gone? Never.

GOD.IN.HIS.WORD_  OAKLAND.CA  SATURDAY_  57-0323

E-23    When springtime comes, there's a little germ of life there that no scientist never can or never will find. And just as certain as the spring sun begins to shine, that little flower will live again. If God made a way for a flower to live again, what about a man that's made in His image? See how the resurrection is? Not reincarnation but resurrection, not replacement but bringing up the same that went down.

Oh, I was setting here not long ago eating a little ice cream with an old Methodist minister. And we was listening at the agriculture hour. And it was said that the little 4-H Club had perfected a machine to where it could produce a grain of corn, so perfect, that you could take a handful out of a sack out of the field and a stack that the machine had produced, mix them together; you could never tell them no more apart. Both would make the same kind of corn flakes, same cornmeal. Both of them cut the grains open, the heart was in the center, the same amount of calcium, the same amount of potash, the same amount of petroleum, the skin on it, everything just perfect.

And I said, "Listen to that, Dr. Spurgeon."

He said, "Yes, Billy, I was just listening." He said, "There is one way to find out." Said, "Bury them, and the one that man made never lives again. But the one that God made in the field has a germ of life, and it lives again."

GOD.IN.HIS.WORD_  OAKLAND.CA  SATURDAY_  57-0323

E-24    I said, "Brother Spurgeon, you better hold me. I'll embarrass you right here in this restaurant, 'cause I just got to shout." That's right. You may look like a Christian, act like a Christian, set by a Christian, and belong to a Christian church. But if the germ of the life of the resurrected Christ, isn't in you, you'll die, and that's the finish of it. You'll be gone. But they that are borned again will live again just as certain as God's Word is true.

*IT'S SOMETHING THAT MAN LONGS TO SEE... IT'S JUST THE WAY YOU LOOK AT IT.

GOD.IN.HIS.WORD_  OAKLAND.CA  SATURDAY_  57-0323

E-16    Job stood up and he said, "I know my Redeemer liveth, and the last days He will stand on the earth: though the skin worms destroys this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God." The prophet in the Spirit, things turn.

This same Job longed to see God. One time he said, "If I could only go to his house as it was. If I could knock [Brother Branham knocks--Ed.] on his door." It's something that man longs to see.

And I taken it upon myself tonight by the work of God--the Word of God, and the works of God, to prove to you that every one of you can see God. It's just the way you look at it.

*...YOUR EMOTIONS TOWARDS THE WORD OF GOD IS WHAT WINDS YOU UP WITH THE HOLY GHOST IF YOU’RE TAKING GOD’S WORD. THERE IT IS, THE NEW WATCH.

57-0324 — Why Some People Can't Keep The Victory

121  Hasn’t Jesus said, “Haven’t you heard that the Stone that the builders rejected has become the Chief of the corner?” Certainly, the Mainspring.

122  Now, when the mainspring is in the watch…And this watch is not a self-winding, it’s a God-winding watch. And the only thing you do to—to a self-winding watch, the only way you do, is your emotions with the watch is what winds it; and your emotions towards the Word of God is what winds you up with the Holy Ghost if you’re taking God’s Word. There it is, the new watch.

*THE GREAT WORD OF GOD, AND THE SPIRIT OF GOD TAKING THE WORD OF GOD, REFLECTS JESUS CHRIST IN HEAVENLY PLACES TO HIS SHEEP...

275    God’s sheep feed on His Food, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” And this is It, the Bible. We feed on every Word, not just some of the Words, but every Word that proceedeth. Oh, don’t it make you love Him? To think that now we have Eternal Life! Not we will be, now we are the sons of God. Not we will be, now! And it’s setting together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. And the great television, that declares that there is a ether wave that makes people (the person that travels around the earth) known by the—by the screen of the television. The great Word of God, and the Spirit of God taking the Word of God, reflects Jesus Christ in heavenly places to His sheep, that He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. Isn’t He wonderful? Wonderful! God bless you.

64-1221 — Why It Had To Be Shepherd

1Jn 2:5  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Heb 12:3  For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Heb 12:4  Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
Heb 12:5  And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
Heb 12:6  For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Heb 12:7  If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Heb 12:8  But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Heb 12:9  Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

26-0427P_HIS UNFAILING WORDS OF PROMISE PT-4

26-0427P_HIS UNFAILING WORDS OF PROMISE PT-4

Mat 24:32  Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

Mat 24:33  So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Mat 24:34  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Mat 24:35  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Ecc 3:18  I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

*HE'S INFALLIBLE. HE'S OMNIPOTENT, OMNISCIENT, OMNIPRESENT.

THE.INFALLIBILITY.OF.GOD'S.SPOKEN.WORD_CHICAGO.IL  WEDNESDAY_  56-0404

E-15    Before it could be a Word spoken; it has to be a thought. Because a--a word is a thought made manifest when God speaks. Now, back in the beginning when God looked down through the corridors of heaven and saw all the things that were going to happen on the earth... Did you ever set and just draw a picture out in your mind? Now, that's the way God did it, perhaps in the beginning. And then it seemed good to Him, so He spoke it, and as soon as it was spoken it became a Word. The thought was expressed in a word. Now listen, once God expresses His thought and makes it a Word, He can never take It back.

Oh, my. You see it? He can't backup on it. He can't say, "Well, I'm sorry, I made a mistake." He can't. He's infallible. He's omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent. See, you and I, as we grow along, we become educated and smarter and everything. We advance, the human race advance; everything advances but God. He was perfect to begin with; He will be perfect when it's all over; He's still perfect. He can't say, "Well, I got a better way of doing it, because I've learned more." He was perfect to start with. So there--therefore--therefore, teaching Divine healing, how could someone say that God wasn't a Healer. When in the beginning back under the Old Testament, in the old days which were shadows, God could've made it perfect then. But He--He spoke His Word it would this way and it has to be that way. He--that's the best way out. That's the best way to bring people to it, for He knows what is.

*IT BELONGS TO YOU. ANY PROMISE BELONGS TO YOU, IF YOU HAVE FAITH TO APPROPRIATE IT.

123 And if we get ourself lined up with the Word of God, and hold on to it! “What can I, Brother Branham, what can I do to be lined up with the Word of God?” Just take It in your heart and believe It. Every promise is yours. It’s yours. You can have it. It belongs to you.

124 “Every promise in the Book,” you sing, “is mine. Every chapter, every verse, every line. I’m trusting in His love Divine, for every promise in the Book is mine.” See?

125 No matter what the promise is, it’s yours anyhow, because God gave it to you. “Whosoever will, let him come and drink from the fountains, the water of Life, freely.” It’s yours. It belongs to you. Any promise belongs to you, if you have faith to appropriate it. And it’ll do it, if you’ll just believe it.

62-0120 — The Unchangeable God Working In An Unexpectable Way

*YOU MUST COME WITH AN UNFAILING FAITH, BELIEVING THAT GOD MADE THE PROMISE.

Perfect Faith_   63-0825E

28 Abraham had to believe just what that Voice told him. And when he was a hundred years old, twenty-five years later, he was stronger believing It than he was twenty-five years ago when It was give to him. See? He believed It. And “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong, giving praise to God, knowing that He was able to perform what He had promised.” And that’s the way, every one must be that way. You must come with an unfailing faith, believing that God made the promise. But now, you have to be in a position to have that faith, and that’s what we’re going to talk on; see, to receive that faith.

*NOAH... HE BUILT AWAY ON THE ARK, IN THE TIME OF CRITICISM. HIS.UNFAILING.WORDS.OF.PROMISE_  PHOENIX.AZ  V-15 N-3  MONDAY_  64-0120

48      Noah. It was hard for the people to understand Noah in his days. He heard God speak. He knew it was the Word, because he was God's prophet. God sent him forth, to claim, "A great flood coming!" He built away on the ark, in the time of criticism. Made no difference to Noah, how many criticized. He was the light of that day. He was the Word of God manifested for that day; for, God destroyed the people.

49    Moses, a great, highly polished theologian, great man, borned to be a prophet; yet, in all of his theology and his--his book knowledge of God, could not deliver the children of Israel by knowledge.

50    You see, the prophet cannot go by knowledge. He's got to go by inspiration. Inspiration!

*GO RIGHT DOWN. IF YOU HOLD THE WORD, YOU GOT HIS HAND.

FELLOWSHIP_  GREEN.LAKE.WI  SATURDAY_  62-0519

E-30    And after while... Oh, God's always faithful when we're coming God's provided way. Job said, "I've made my confession. I have burnt the offering." That's exactly what God required. He worshipped God under the shed blood. And all of a sudden then the Spirit come upon the prophet, and the thunders roared, and the lightnings flashed, and he said, "I know my Redeemer liveth. And in the last days... Though after the skin worms destroys this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself." See, under the blood...

There set the rest of them as far away as anything. But Job stayed under the blood with the Word (That's it.), under the blood with the Word. No matter how dark it gets, just keep going on. Hold to God's unchanging Word. Go right down. If you hold the Word, you got His hand. Go on down.

THE.INFALLIBLE.WORD.OF.GOD_  CHICAGO.IL  FRIDAY_  56-0406

E-19    And a man's character is shown in his works. Or a man shows his--his character by his works. We know that. Just like a contractor, a contractor shows what he is by his work. For instance, if we was going to have a great building built here in the city of Chicago, the first thing the officials of the city board would do, they would try to select a contractor. Just not any one that run in and said, "Well, I can do the job, all right," they're going to get a contractor that's got a reputation. And now, because if they didn't, maybe another contractor would underbid that contractor. But he would put in the building bad material, and perhaps he would build it thousands of dollars less. And then we come to find out that the building collapsed. The first storm hit it, it went down. What do you think the city would think about that contractor? It would ruin his reputation forever. That's right.

Perhaps, what if it would have been a school building, or something where many little children was seated in the school, and the--the bad material that was put in the building gave away and collapsed and killed hundreds of little children? What would those parents think of that contractor, for the love of money, caring not about his reputation, and done a job like that? Oh, my, they'd think he was a horrible person. And he would be. No doubt he'd have to be what we would call a scalawag, that would do a trick like that, put such a goods in a building that had such a great price that it was to hold up. And then, with so much in common of little children, that had to be seated in here, and would go and put bad materials in it, and the first thing you know the foundations would give away and away it would go. He would be an awful person to do a thing like that.

What do you think the Los Angeles people thought of that contractor who built the Saint Francis Dam? About twenty-five million dollars was put in it, a little lower than any the other bidders. But all at once, when the flood waters begin to press against the dam, the sandy conditions beneath it wasn't fit right, and the material that went into it was not the right kind of material, and while the valleys laid silent with sleeping people trusting in that dam, the whole thing gave away, and hundreds of people's lives was destroyed when the waters swept down through that valley, taking the lives of the people.

* GOD IS A GREAT ARCHITECT. HE'S A GREAT BUILDER AS GOD PUTS IN HIS BUILDING NOTHING BUT THE VERY BEST.

THE.INFALLIBLE.WORD.OF.GOD_  CHICAGO.IL  FRIDAY_  56-0406

E-20    Now, in this we would liken the Word of God. God is a great Architect. He's a great Builder as God puts in His building nothing but the very best.

And I would liken this to the story I read of the great Sydney Bridge in Sydney, Australia. Many years ago when the--they had decided to build a bridge across the great strait of water there, that connected North and South Sydney, many come to bid. But up into England, came down a renowned contractor who had a reputation behind him that he would... He wanted to build this bridge. Though his prices was high, the people of Sydney didn't mind that; they wanted the bridge built right.

And I think every Christian ought to take the same attitude. That's right. We want to know where we're standing. We don't want our eternal destination built upon the shifting sands of some church theology, but on the eternal Word of the living God. Right. 'Cause remember, every one of you setting here tonight, stormy times is going to hit that building you're setting in tonight. That's right. Death's going to strike it, and you'd better know what kind of a sand it's built upon, or what kind of a foundation it has.

THE.INFALLIBLE.WORD.OF.GOD_  CHICAGO.IL  FRIDAY_  56-0406

E-21    God building the foundation would put nothing else but the best that there is, 'cause God is thoughtful of His reputation. He's a God of eternity. He's a God of heavens and earth. He will never put nothing in His architect plans here, but what will stand the time test for eternity. Amen. Say, I better leave that text, that... We'd get to shouting, we get to thinking that. For that's just as true as God is true.

And now, He puts the best, and that's His Word. And that's where I rest my hopes on tonight. My hopes is built on nothing less, than Jesus Blood with righteousness. When all around my soul gives way, this Rock will stand forever (That's right.), God's eternal Word.
