26-0209P_PURPOSE OF OUR BEING HERE IS TO EXPRESS CHRIST
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
WE.WOULD.SEE.JESUS_VICTORIA.BCFRIDAY_62-0727
E-32Now, when Jesus was here on earth, He said
to them that did not believe Him... He was an ordinary man, and He called
Himself God. They said, "When You make Yourself equal with God we know
you're mad (And the word 'mad' there, of course, we understand means 'crazy.')
and you're crazy. You are a Samaritan. You've got a devil," and so forth.
But Jesus said, "Search the
Scriptures, for in Them you think you have Eternal Life, and They are They that
testify of Me. They are They that bear witness of Me." "Testify"
is "to bear witness."
When you go to a trial to be a
witness, you're testifying for somebody. See? And Jesus said, "The
Scriptures are They that bear record of Me." Then He was God's Word
expressed in human flesh. You see it? God's promise made flesh to express
Itself, that's what Christ was, the Word of God expressed in human form. The Word
was made flesh and dwelt among us.
Again He said to them, "If I
do not the works of My Father, then believe Me not. But though you don't
believe Me, believe the works." See, that's God expressing Himself through
the flesh. He was God made flesh, the Word, living Word.
HUMBLE.THYSELF_JEFF.INV-21 N-1SUNDAY_63-0714E
103Look at Jesus, nothing but one bundle of
love. See? He was God manifested. He, God, expressed Himself through Him, no
wonder miracles and things happened. His humble life, and consecrated life; to
come from being God, to be a man here on earth, to express God through Himself.
That's what made Him what He was. I've always said, "What made Jesus God,
to me, was the way He humbled Himself. He was so great, and yet could be so
small." See? That's right.
WE WOULD SEE JESUS_ VICTORIA BC62-0727113
E-35It's too bad that the things of the world
has so captured the church in these days. And Satan had a rude way of doing it,
to bring in the televisions right into the homes, and things, and corrupting
the minds of the people, and till today that--that a great percent of the
church that call themselves Christians will stay home from prayer meeting on a
Wednesday night to get to see some favorite program of somebody from Hollywood,
or somewhere, that oughtn't to even be put out on the screen, maybe living with
three or four husbands, or wives, and carrying on, and living all kinds of
lives, go out on drunk parties, and smoking, and lying, and everything that can
be done that's wrong.

33Now, if we are those attributes of God,
we cannot live by creeds. We cannot live by denominationalism. We must live by
the Word, because the Bride is a part of the Bridegroom, like any wife is a
part of her husband. Therefore, we must be that Word Bride. And what is that
Word Bride? The manifestation of this hour, the Bride, not a creed or a
denomination; but a living oracle of God, a living attribute of God, displaying
to the world the attributes of God, in the formation of the Bride that's to be
expressed in this hour that we're now living.

E-18Now, character... Always you... All you
people of the church of God, live good, live right. People's watching the way
you're living. And if there's anything that's a hindrance to Christianity
today, is the way that professed Christians live: dishonest, dishonorable, and
living any way. Don't do that. We are Christians.
Somebody's watching your life,
correctly. Be honest. Let everybody know. Let your dealings be fair and square,
and--and--and don't take nothing doesn't belong to you. Don't say nothing but
what's the truth. And you can always tell the truth every time, and God will
honor the truth. And always do what's right. Treat everybody right. If they
don't treat you right, you treat them right anyhow. See? Jesus treated us right
when we didn't treat Him right. And His Spirit in us...
26-0206A_THE STATURE OF A PERFECT MAN PT-32 (BOND OF PERFECTNESS)
2Pe 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2Pe 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2Pe 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
2Pe 1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
2Pe 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
2Pe 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Pe 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
2Pe 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
Col 3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
Jud 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Jud 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jud 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference: Jud 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
1Jn 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
1Jn 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
1Jn 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
1Jn 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
*...THAT’S WHAT THE HOLY
GHOST IS FOR...IT’S TO UNITE US TOGETHER WITH POWER. IT’S TO UNITE US TOGETHER
WITH LOVE, BROTHERLY LOVE.
WHAT.WAS.THE.HOLY.GHOST.GIVEN.FOR?_59-1217
111 ....The Holy Ghost will
follow God’s Word to the letter.
And a
preacher behind the pulpit, that ain’t got grace enough to preach It, I doubt
he’s got It. That’s just exactly! Well, that’s what
the Holy Ghost is for.
112It’s to give
unction to the preacher. It’s to give holiness to the group. It’s to set the
Church in order. It’s to bring a unity of Spirit. It’s to unite us together
with Power. It’s to unite us together with love, brotherly love.
*...BEING JOINED TOGETHER
WITH GODLY LOVE, FEAR OF GOD, REVERENCE IN OUR HEART TO ONE ANOTHER, DEEP
RESPECT TO ONE ANOTHER, BROTHERLY AND SISTERLY KINDNESS...
61-1Let's study it. Let's add to our faith these things then,
that we might come in the full statue of Christ, being
joined together with godly love, fear of God, reverence in our heart to one
another, deep respect to one another, brotherly and sisterly kindness, never
vulgarity, nothing but just the purity of Holy Ghost living. See? Live together, be a Christian; walk with faith; let the
virtue of God flow through you. Let the knowledge of God when it comes
to right and wrong... When the devil presents
something that's not exactly Scripture, walk away from it. That's right.
*THEN THEY'RE WAITING FOR THE HEADSTONE
WHICH IS LOVE; FOR GOD IS LOVE, AND HE CONTROLS, AND HE IS THE STRENGTH OF
EVERY ONE OF THESE THINGS.
47-1Now, in building the virtue,
building this monument, building this statue (See?), it starts off and the
foundation that's on faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness,
brotherly kindness. Now, what's it do? Then they're
waiting for the Headstone which is love; for God is love, and He controls, and
He is the Strength of every one of these things. Yes, sir. Right in
here. Right in here. See, I got in between all these works in here, and here
there's little waves coming. What is that? The Holy
Ghost coming down through Christ (See?), Holy
Spirit. The Holy Spirit is above all this,
welding this together, building a what? A perfect
church for the capstone to cap it off. What's it been done again? It's manifested through seven church ages and seven church
messengers.
*“FAITH WORKETH BY LOVE.” AND
THE ONLY WAY THAT YOU CAN HAVE FAITH, IS HAVE LOVE FIRST.
DESPERATIONS_63-0901E
68Now the Word plainly states, if
you want to put this down, in Galatians 5:6, that, “Faith
worketh by love.” See? “Faith worketh by love.” And the only way that you can
have faith, is have love first. Because, after all, faith is love’s incentive. Incentive, that’s
exactly what—what faith is. It’s an incentive to love. Now, you, if you don’t have love, you can’t have faith. See?
69 How
can you have faith in your wife if you don’t love her? That’s in phileo. Now
how about in agapao, to God? How can it be if you don’t love God?
If you said you loved
your wife, and never tell her about it, and never set down and make love to
her, expressed it to her, kiss her, hug her, and tell her she’s the best cook
in the country, all the things that you know, and how pretty she is, and how
much you love her; if you don’t do that, she’ll never know it. That’s the way.
If you do love her, you express it.
70 That’s
the way we do to God. When we love Him, we tell Him
about it. We set down and we adore Him, and worship Him. And, see, love drives
us to that.
*...BUT IF THOSE GIFTS ARE
NOT GOVERNED BY LOVE, THEN THEY ARE NOT EFFECTIVE.
16 And I
think if one thing is needed in the great, universal Church of God tonight is
love. We do not need other things as much as we think we do. And all these other things, our
emotions and our gifts, they are wonderful, and to God we give praise, but if those gifts are not governed by love, then they
are not effective.
*IF GOD IS IN YOU, THE TOKEN
INSIDE OF YOU, AND YOU SEE THE CONDITIONS OF TIMES, AND PEOPLE WADING IN SIN
THE WAY THEY ARE, IT’LL THROW YOU INTO DESPERATION.
DESPERATIONS_63-0901E
67 I believe that the reason we
don’t have desperation is because it’s a lack of love, God, the love of God. I think that the
love of God causes desperation. If God is in you, the Token inside of you, and
you see the conditions of times, and people wading in sin the way they are,
it’ll throw you into desperation. I believe it will.
E-14Love is a powerful force. It'll run a woman, a mother,
right into the flames of fire after her baby, if she knows she's plunging
herself to death. There's nothing more strong than
love. Love
will make you trust. You might go and know that you belong to the greatest
church in all the provinces of Canada. You might know that you're the charter
member of the greatest church in the nation. And then you would do things that
you would not do if you belonged to a little mission somewhere in some corner
and had the love of God in your heart.
Love has
no fear. Love casts out fear. And I notice in my
meetings, so much that when I come into the people... One
of the great things I find among them is fear. And what makes fear is lack of
confidence. If you lack confidence it'll make you fear. But if you love, it casts away that fear. And
that's the way God wants His Church, not so many as charter members; He wants members that's loyal, and loves, and believes,
and has confidence in Him.
*GODLY LOVE DOESN'T QUESTION. HUMAN LOVE REASONS, BUT GODLY
LOVE DOESN'T. IT'S PERFECT IN ITS TRUST.
E-6.....There's two different types of love. And I'm almost sure
that many of us has been deceived with having phileo love and thinking it's
Agapao love. Phileo love is intellectual; Agapao
love comes from the heart. That's human love, affectionately love, and
godly love. Godly love doesn't question. Human love
reasons, but godly love doesn't. It's perfect in its trust. It's
perfect... It just produces faith when you really
love.
*WHEN THE LOVE OF CHRIST
COMES INTO YOUR HEART, YOU WOULDN'T DO NOTHING TO HURT HIM.
E-17And I tell you, brother, when
the love of God comes into the human heart, it'll drive all these things; you
don't have to worry about smoking, drinking, and running to bioscopes. When the
love of Christ comes into your heart, you wouldn't do nothing to hurt Him. Not
walking around, saying, "They're narrow-minded, and they're this way and
that way." Just let the love of God strike you
once, those things die. Your whole affections is placed on Christ. You
got Eternal Life then, when you believe Him, when
you really believe Him, and get married to Him, and die out to the things of
the world.
*CHRIST IN THE PERSON OF THE HOLY GHOST
COMES UPON YOU IN THE TRUE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST, AND YOU GOT ALL THESE
VIRTUES SEALED IN YOU…
48-1See, these fellows wasn't
required, what these fellows was. This wasn't required what this was. See, but
He brought His church up the same way. He brought
His--His church up the same way he's bringing His people up. Then Peter
here says first (seven things) faith, virtue (See, coming up), knowledge,
temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly love, and brotherly kindness and
then the love of God, the Holy Ghost. Christ in the
Person of the Holy Ghost comes upon you in the true baptism of the Holy Ghost,
and you got all these virtues sealed in you, then God lives in a tabernacle
called the building, the living Tabernacle of the living God's dwelling place.
2Co 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2Co 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
1Co 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
1Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
1Co 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
1Co 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
Jdg 6:15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.
1Co 2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
1Co 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
1Co 2:3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
1Co 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
Joh 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Rom 12:10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
But did you ever... Let me just
give you... If I have found grace in your sight through God, you take my word
for this, brethren. If you want to be a blessing, and get a blessing, when a
man has done you wrong, and he has absolutely justly, he... I mean he has done
you wrong and you know that he's done you wrong; he's done you evil. Don't
mention that; you take him to prayer before God. And don't take it in a way of
just a selfish and say, "Well, I'm supposed to do this." But stand
with your shoulder to his shoulder, and stand in the Presence of God our
Father, way a prayer should be made in the Presence of God, say, "Father,
here's my brother, and he--he is justly; he deserves punishment because he
has--he's done me evil. And I don't see why he did it."
45-3All right. Coming in to perfection now...
All right. Then sixthly, let's add, the Bible said here, adding brotherly
love--brotherly kindness. Now, that's a good one. Right here, the sixth
one--seventh. All right, adding brotherly kindness. All right. When we get to
that, brotherly kindness, put yourself in his place on the matter. Now, you
say, "My brother sinned against me," said Peter, "Shall I
forgive him?" He said, "Seven times a day?"
He said, "Seventy times
seven." See, brotherly kindness. Now, you see, if a brother's all out of
tune, don't be impatient with him. See? No. See? Be kind to him. Go anyhow.
SHALOM_SIERRA.VISTA.AZV-13 N-5SUNDAY_64-0112
Maybe sometime man get up real
sharp; but if I got one thought that I didn't like that person, then--then I
know one thing, the Spirit of Christ has departed from me. If I--if I can feel
that I don't like that person, there's something wrong with me.
A.SUPER.SENSE_JEFF.INV-20 N-7SUNDAY_59-1227E
And don't love only those who
love you, but love those who do not love you. For it's easy for me to love
anybody that loves me, but try to love somebody who doesn't love you. That's
where you can test whether you're a Christian or not; somebody that don't love
you, and yet in your heart you love them... Now, if you don't do that, then
just keep holding onto God. It's there, 'cause I know it to be the truth. Amen.
I know that it's the truth.
A.SUPER.SENSE_JEFF.INV-20 N-7SUNDAY_59-1227E
Now, don't you listen to one foul thing the devil's got to say. See? If
the devil shows you some, or tells you something evil about one of the members
of the body of Christ, don't you believe it. For as soon as you believe it, you
mar your experience.
A.SUPER.SENSE_JEFF.INV-20 N-7SUNDAY_59-1227E
36And if you see one of the
members of the Body of Christ doing something evil, don't tell nobody else; but
go to that member, and with love, and see if you can't bring them back to
Christ again. And if you can't do it, then tell one person, or let them go with
you. Do it the way the Scripture said. See? But don't...
If somebody said, "Sister
So-and-so, or Brother So-and-so," don't you believe one word of it. You
just leave it go. Because, remember, it's the devil trying to tear you to pieces.
Now, just look for him to come in, 'cause he'll do it. Now, you let the good
man of the house, faith, stand right there, and don't you receive one thing.
These people have been set in heavenly places with you, fellowship together
around the blessings of God, taking the communion at the table, and the Holy
Spirit has witnessed that they are the children of God. So let's just be real
sweet, kindhearted, forgiving, loving. And if the other person talks evil
against you, you talk sweet against them. Watch how sweeter it comes to you
then. See? That's right. Just always return good for evil, love for hate. And
just...
TAKING.SIDES.WITH.JESUS_ JEFF.INCODFRIDAY_62-0601
There's many times that a
minister will make a mistake. And if he comes into a neighborhood, a precious
brother who's trying to do what's right and to lead the people right,
everything that the devil can point to the unbeliever or the so-called
Christian in that neighborhood to throw off on that man, he'll do it. You know,
the real Christian way is to hide everything you can from a brother. Don't tell
his bad things; just tell his good things. Just tell what you know about him
that's good. If anything's bad, let it alone. The poor fellow's got enough
against him anyhow. Don't try to take a pole and shove a man further into the
ditch. The Christian attitude is to pick him up and take him out of the ditch.
See? Don't never try to shove him down; he's down already. Try to help him up.
And... But too many of us today, too many people today, I might say, try to do
that. If they could just get something another that they could say that was
real bad.
TOKEN_JEFF.INV-2 N-19SUNDAY_63-0901M
When we see these things upon the
earth today, oh, people, this is the last hour. Get that Token over you,
quickly as you can; or, you get in the Token, get in the Token. As we see the
great end sign, and the time at hand, warning us, "Time is at hand."
TOKEN_JEFF.INV-2 N-19SUNDAY_63-0901M
243Oh, take this solemnly!
We should love one another. Oh, my! We should be so in love! Don't never speak
evil against one another. If somebody makes a mistake, pray for him right
quick. We are together in this, with God. We are brothers and sisters. Oh, live
godly. Live, live like daughters of God, live like sons of God. Live sweet,
kind, humble.
244Let no evil come in your mind, in your
thinking. Just, just dismiss it. If it knocks on the door, take it away. Just
say, just show your Token, just keep walking, "I am under the Blood!"
If it ever gets to a place that I
couldn't put my arm around any brother that's working for the Kingdom of God,
and recognize him as my brother, I feel I'm backslid. Amen. Sure.
And when you separate from Divine
love, then you can't overlook your brother's mistakes no more. You got to bawl
him out for it. That's right. You can't overlook sister's mistakes no more.
Because you've got away from that Divine part, that love part. But if you
really love the Lord Jesus, if sister or brother, does something to you,
"Oh, well, that's all right, they didn't mean to do it." That's the
kind of love that Christ had, "Father, forgive them; they don't know what
they're doing."
BLASPHEMOUS.NAMES_JEFF.INV-3 N-21SUNDAY_62-1104M
Now, you might say, "Look,
I--I--I sure don't like Brother Neville," or, "I sure don't like
Brother Jones; I don't like Brother So-and-so," and something like that.
But just let something happen to him; brother, your heart's broke. It just
nearly kills you. See? We can obtain brotherly kindness and feeling for one
another. See? But to maintain in a group of people...
Why do you care for that brother?
Because you broke bread with him here at the altar, as you will tonight; you
fellowship with him; you shook his hands; you worship with him. He's your
brother. And he might do something in the flesh that you would disagree with,
cause you just kind of stay (which you oughtn't to do but)--shun him a little.
But in the bottom of your heart, if something happened to that brother, it would
just nearly kill you, or that sister.

Rom 12:11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
Rom 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Rom 12:13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
1Jn 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 1Jn 3:12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Gal 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
Php 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Gen 4:9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?
Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Col 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Col 4:3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
Col 4:4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
1Ti 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
Mat 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Mat 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Mat 9:38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
FAITH_CHARLOTTE.NCFRIDAY_56-0427
E-5We're just looking forward for a great time
in the Lord, and with your prayers I'm sure that we'll do the best we can for
the glory of God. Prayer changes things. Prayer changes death to life. Prayer
changes sickness to health, changes sinners to saints. It's prayer. You may
laugh too much. You may shout too much. You may eat too much, but you'll never
pray too much. The--the Bible said, "I would that man pray everywhere,
lifting up holy hands." So you'll never be able to pray too much.
Now, I was noticing here Brother
Osborn's book, the Evangelist T. L. Osborn. He is another bosom friend of mine
along with Brother Roberts and many of the other outstanding ministers of the
day. I've had privilege of meeting many of them.
BLIND.BARTIMAEUS_PHOENIX.AZFRIDAY_57-0301
E-10That being alone... Many times I've climbed
up into the mountains. Where every man thought (was with me), I was going
hunting. Go up there, and set down on a rock, and just look up to the sky until
looked like that my whole innermost being become filled with something that you
could just feel... Oh, everything of the world seemed to pass away. Oh, for
those precious hours alone with God.
And it's there that when the
greatest revelation and inspiration comes, is when we're alone with God. We'd
take more time on that, I'm sure, that we would live a better life, more
victorious life in Christ.
Isn't it strange that God wants
the people to have part into it? When Jesus looked out upon the harvest, He
said, "The harvest is ripe; the laborers are few. You pray the Lord of the
harvest (That was Him.)--you pray to Me, that I will send laborers into My
harvest." It's some part you have to do. God's waiting for His church to
call on Him. He's always did it. God is waiting today for the people to call
His servant into action. And the servant can't get into action till the people
prays.
Israel could not get into action
down there with signs and wonders until they fell on their face and prayed for
a deliverer. God had His deliverer. God had a prophet hanging up there in the
wilderness, kept him there for forty years waiting for them to get right to
pray. But when they got right and started praying, then God sent the deliverer.
God will do the same thing today, if the people will just get together, get to
praying. All right.

2Ki 4:30 And the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.
Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment. 2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
*THE SPIRIT THAT'S WITHIN YOU MOTIVATES
YOUR LIFE…BUT IF YOU ARE OF GOD, YOU'LL DO THE WAY THEY DO IN HEAVEN…
40...We're from heaven. The spirit that's within
you motivates your life. If you are a American, you'll do as
the Americans do. If you are French, you'll do as the French do, and criticize
the other one. But if you are of God, you'll do the way they do in
heaven, because your Spirit comes from above and It controls you.
*AND THE HOLY SPIRIT IS HERE, TRYING TO
FIND SOMEBODY TO WORK THROUGH, AND WHEN IT FINDS SOMEBODY TO WORK THROUGH, IT
CAN DO GOOD.
8-3…..Now, when the meeting going on, a evil spirit in the
meeting, that spirit is almost harmless until it can catch somebody that it can
work through. Then when it can work through, it'll certainly do damage, because
it is a evil spirit. And the Holy Spirit is here,
trying to find somebody to work through, and when It finds somebody to work
through, It can do good.
See,
the two spirits, their motives, objectives? Watch how it is. Watch their works. Watch their fruits. Then you can see
what spirit is on you.
8-6You are motivated by spirit. If you have no spirit, you're dead. And if
you have a spirit, it motivates your life. And if your
life bears the fruit of a Christian, it's a Christian Spirit.
*IF WE'RE CHRISTIANS, WE HAVE A HEAVENLY
SPIRIT, AND OUR SPIRIT COME FROM ABOVE THAT DIRECTS OUR LIVES AND OUR THOUGHTS.
WHO.IS.THIS_ CLARKSVILLE.IN SUNDAY_

32You'll usually do... You--you'll
usually do like the spirit that's in you. It motivates your life. It makes you what
you are, is the life that's in you. And when men and women claim to
be Christians and still want to be like the world, there's something wrong
somewhere; for we are not of this world, for our spirit...
If we were Germans, we'd like Germany.
If we were Finland, we would do as they do in Finland. If they're Americans,
they have the American spirit. If we're Christians, we have a heavenly Spirit, and our
Spirit come from above that directs our lives and our thoughts. That's godly,
brotherly love, clean life, honorable, respected peoples.
*YOUR SPIRIT, THE LIFE THAT'S IN YOU,
MOTIVATES AND TELLS WHAT YOU ARE.
43Oh, yes, these people call themselves Christians. They belong to
churches….. We're this, that, and the other." That doesn't have one thing
to do with it. Your spirit, the life that's in you, motivates and tells
what you are. Jesus said, "By their fruit you shall know them."
45That's the same thing the church
has done. It's adopted... Here you are. It's adopted politics, educations. It's
adopted organizations, societies, big churches, high cafluting preachers. And when the real King
comes, they don't know Him, and they're crucifying the very Holy Ghost that's
their King. They don't know Him, but they laugh at
Him and make fun of Him. As they--Jews did their Messiah, the church is doing
their Messiah the same way. They don't know it. They haven't got the spiritual insight, because
they're so indocumated with their eyes and what they see, great buildings,
trying to compare with the world. We're never exalt--exhorted to
compare with the world. We're exhorted to humble ourselves.
*ARE WE TRUE TO GOD? ARE WE TRUE TO HIS
WORD? DO WE STAND UNDER TEST OF THE HOLY SPIRIT? THAT'S THE MAIN THING.
46And one is the majority in God. And
today in the healing evangelists out on the fields, there's such a
competiting--competitors. One says, "Well, bless God, I have so many
thousand. I got a bigger meeting than you have." What difference does that
make? If we
have one or one million, what difference does it make? Are we true to God? Are
we true to His Word? Do we stand under test of the Holy Spirit? Is it true?
That's the main thing.
*THE LIFE THAT'S IN YOU MOTIVATES YOU.
WHERE HAS THY STRENGTH GONE_ 59-0702
E-20We are not looking for these
things of the world. And when
the Spirit of God comes into a person, it changes them. It motivates you... The
life that's in you motivates you. And what's the matter with the church today, it's become too worldly. What we need is the Holy Ghost in the human being, in the
heart. It'll take the new birth to do that: change that person, making him or
her a new creature.
But
let me tell whether it's America, Finland, France, anywhere it is, when a woman
or a man is borned of the kingdom of God, he becomes a new creature and stops
the things of the world. They are
dead to him; for he is dead and his life is hid in God through Christ, sealed
by the Holy Ghost. What
we need today is a revival, is a shaking, an old fashioned Pentecostal revival.
We'd be a lot better off with a
tambourine down on the corner, beating the tambourines, than to live in these big morgues with
the Spirit of God being grieved away from us. The devil comes to rob and to
take away. That's all he knows how to do.
* BUT YOU KNOW, GOD MADE YOU A PERSON TO
MAKE YOU DESIRE TO BE THAT WAY, SO THAT HE COULD FILL YOU UP WITH HIS GOODNESS.
7-2After you see this great
something that I'm trying to build your mind into for a context, I'm trying to
let you see out here that there is a--a working of an enemy. And the working of the enemy by a perverted spirit is trying
to do that which the Spirit of Christ is trying to do. The enemy is
trying, like the pro and con, to unite all the world under one great head. The
world's a doing that, Russia, U.N. And now, let me go just a little further.
And the church is trying to do it under man-made setups.
It'll
never work. It's not God's program. I can prove that by His Word. But you know, God made you a person to make you desire to
be that way, so that He could fill you up with His goodness. Now, if a
man has to be full of something... That's right.
7-4This is the choosing time. You cannot stand neutral any longer. You may leave
before the message is over, but you can't go out that door the same person you
come in. That's right. You'll cross that threshold
tonight either a better person or a--a more evil person than you was when you
entered. You can't help it. It's up to you to make a decision. Now,
notice. It's a choosing time. You can't be neutral.
It's a choosing time. You must choose you this day whom
you're going to serve. And
the devil has presented many things glamorous that you can choose if you wish
to. You can't remain the way you are, because you've got to be... if you're
empty...
*GOD SENT THE HOLY SPIRIT TO THE EARTH TO
MOTIVATE THE CHURCH.
9-2Now, what just happened? A re--evangelist comes through. They preach repentance, and you clean up from your sins.
And then when you're cleaned up, the devil goes away from you. You take
your things back that you've stole. You go, confess your wrongs to your wife or
your husband. You're really cleaned up. And then the
thing of it is, you're just clean and make a real good target for the devil.
Now,
after the people believed and was baptized, they were
filled with the Holy Ghost. And that's God's Divine program. Now, if you
are filled with the world... And when you get saved, you might be filled with
good thoughts and so forth, but unless you are filled with God... God sent the Holy Spirit to the earth to motivate the church.
And you might be filled with thoughts. You might be filled with
theology. And you might be filled with education, a know it all. And you might
be filled with religion, and still be a target of the devil. That's right.
*MASTERPIECE IS SCARRED BECAUSE

130 One day, down on Jordan, after
that Masterpiece had been formed and made, here He come descending down in
a…on the wings of a Dove, said, “This is Him!” He
was so enthused with this Masterpiece until He struck Him on Calvary, that
He would die for the rest of us that’s imperfect; that through the
shedding of His Blood, He might bring many masterpieces (being a Bride) to His

1I want to say that I’m very happy. I want to start
this tonight, that this elderly man who’s eighty some-odd years old, about
eighty-four years old. He isn’t able to work no more. He’s served his
time. And if he has the enthusiasm to scatter the Message of
Jesus Christ, I want to help him do it. God bless my brother. All right.
Go ahead, Brother…?…May God bless each one. Come here.
[Brother Hall asks, “What are you going to start it
with?”—Ed.] I’m going to start it…[Brother Hall asks, “Some money,
huh?”—Ed.] Some money…[All right good, I will help you start
it.”] All right, sir; that’s fine. God bless you.
2 Just I want him to say a word.
All right. Come here, Brother Congressman.
This is the former Congressman
of the United States. One time, one of the greatest men in our
nation. God…He was crippled for many many years, sixty-six years, was
healed here in this meeting. And I feel a great honor tonight to stand
before a man, or with a man like this. That these crutches supported him
for all those years of his youth, while he was being prayed for time after
time to be healed. And at the age of about eighty-four Senator…
[Congressman Upshaw gives his testimony: Just eighty-four. And I’m
eighty-four years young, speak three and four times a day, preach the
Gospel of the Christ Who saved me, stood by me on bed seven years, and
made me happy, and then took me off of the crutches that I have used for
fifty-nine years and now, glory to God I’m walking—Ed.]
3 Praise the Lord. And you know
what this offering is for? He’s not able to send this testimony around the
country. He’s…He can’t do it. He’s aged, and he has no income. This here offering is to help him send this to all the
big men, rulers, and so forth of the nation. God bless our gallant
brother.
And I want to give him an…this
welcome here, to anywhere in the nation that I have meetings or in the
world. I’d be very happy to see Congressman Upshaw come and stand by me at
the platform while in services.
[Congressman Upshaw
gives comment: Remember, I’m sending this folder to every congressman, and
senator, the president, and his wife, and now sending it this week to the
king of England for whom he prayed, and Winston Churchill. And I’m going
to send one to Joseph Stalin. God have mercy on his soul—Ed.]
LITTLE BOY LOOKING FOR AN ANWER IF ANY MAN HAS SEEN GOD
31 Now, in my city, there was a
little boy, some time ago, who got all enthused in his Sunday school, and when
he went home he said to his mommy, “Mommy, can anyone see this great God that
they’re telling us about?”
She said, “Ask your
Sunday school teacher.”
And she asked the
teacher, or, he did, rather, asked the lady teacher, and she said, “Ask the
pastor.”
And they asked the
pastor, and the pastor said, “No, sonny, no one can see God and live.”
32 Well, the little fellow, that
did not satisfy his enthusiasm. So he used to fish up on the river with an old
fisherman, down there, by the name of Wiseheart, used to be a deacon in our
church. And he, one day, coming down the river, there’d come a storm; been a
dusty summer, and the water had washed all the leaves off; and the sun was
setting in the west, as the old fisherman, the little boy, made their ways down
after running the nets. And there was a rainbow came out. And as the old
fisherman watched that rainbow, the little fellow noticed that tears begin to
run down his bearded cheeks.
33 And the crystal tears dropping
off of his white beard, kind of stirred the emotion of the little boy. So he
ran from the stern of the boat up into the middle, and he fell down on the lap
of the old fisherman, he said, “Sir, I’m going to ask you something that,
seemingly, no one can answer me.”
And he said, “What is
it, my lad?”
He said, “God is so
great, the God that made that rainbow.” Said, “Can anyone see God?”
34 And the old fisherman, overcome
by the child’s enthusiasm, put him in his arms, and he said, “God bless your
little heart, honey, all I’ve seen for forty years has been God.” The way to
see God is to get God on the inside, then He looks through your eyes. Then you
know Him, you can understand, He will reveal Himself.
The way
to see God is to get God on the inside, then He looks through your
eyes. Then you know Him, you can understand, He will reveal Himself.
35 Jesus said, “A little while, and the world, see Me no more; yet
ye shall see Me, for I will be with you, even in you, to the end of the world.”Anyone who reads the Scriptures knows that’s
true. Then Jesus’ promise, by His Own Word: that there—there would be
people that would see Him until He came again at the end of the world. “A little while, and the world will see Me no more; yet
ye shall see Me, for I…”(a
personal pronoun) “…will be with you, even
in you, to the end of the world.” Now, is that Scripture
right? Or was He just teasing the disciples? If He was teasing, and
joshing, and carrying on, then He wasn’t the Son of God. That’s either the
truth, or it is not the truth.
