26-0622P_PERSEVERANCE PT-2

Mat 15:21  Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.

Mat 15:22  And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

Mat 15:23  But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

Mat 15:24  But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Mat 15:25  Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

Mat 15:26  But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.

Mat 15:27  And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

Mat 15:28  Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

*THEN IF GOD KEEPS HIS WORD, ONE WORD, YOU CAN BE PERSEVERANT THEN. YOU CAN HOLD ONTO YOUR PROMISE AND KEEP IT.

PERSEVERANCE_  JEFF.IN  V-10 N-3  SUNDAY_  62-0218

253    Listen friends, I want to ask you this question before I say this. What do we go to church for? What's it all about? If there is no resurrection of the dead, if--if there is no resurrection, then let's eat, drink, and be merry, for we're nothing but logs, dogs, and so forth anyhow. We don't believe that. We know that there's a living God. Certainly. Well, if He's a living God, I want to ask you something. Then these Words that I said... You might agree with me; you might not agree with me. But if you do agree with me, then yet, you--you could question that until you see it manifested. That's right. If it's God's Word, God has to keep His Word. If He doesn't keep It, well, then it isn't God, then I--I've been a false, I been a... I made a false manifestation; I--I've been a false prophet. But if God said so, God keeps His Word. Then if God keeps His Word, one Word, you can be perseverant then. You can hold onto your promise and keep it. Is that right?

*THAT'S WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH CHRISTIANS TODAY. WE SO SOFT-SOAPED THEM...

GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY.FOR.THIS.DAY_  BAKF.CA  V-22 N-6  THURSDAY_  64-0206E

28    That's what's the matter with Christians today. We so soft-soaped them, and we shook their hands and brought them in by secret, and joined them into the church. What they need is an old-fashion prayer altar where they pray through, until using themselves, come in God's provided way, till they free themselves from the world. The trouble of it, today, they put their name on the book and join church, and that's all there is to it. But God's way, provided way, is to stay there and work your way through, until God gives you the new Birth. That's exactly right. Pick him out, it'll kill him.

*FOR TRULY, WE PROFESS THAT WE ARE PILGRIMS AND STRANGERS. THIS IS NOT OUR HOME.

CONVINCED.THEN.CONCERNED_  TEMPE.AZ  THURSDAY_  62-0118

E-5    I see some of my friends from up around Jeffersonville, or visit us. We got people sitting out here before us tonight, I notice, that drive all the way from Macon, Georgia, every Sunday to have... That's about 714... That's about 1500 miles a round trip to come to church on Sunday. And they don't do that just one time. Every day in the year that we have service up at the Tabernacle, they drive from way down in Macon, Georgia.

I see Brother and Sister Dauch here from Ohio. Brother Dauch is well-stricken in age, but just he and his wife together, and the Lord has been good to them. And they--they drive every Sunday, this aged couple, from way up in Ohio, down from the--over icy roads. And she, a woman, drove all the way from Ohio here to get to be in the meetings. (1890MI.)

CONVINCED.THEN.CONCERNED_  TEMPE.AZ  THURSDAY_  62-0118

E-6    And here the people are from Macon, and different places, that's gathered in here for the service. We're glad to have friends like that. So happy to share our privileges together, our fellowship together. For truly, we profess that we are pilgrims and strangers. This is not our home.

* THE SPIRIT OF GOD WILL RUN YOU RIGHT STRAIGHT TO THE CHURCH EVERY TIME THE DOOR OPENS FOR FELLOWSHIP.

CONVINCED.THEN.CONCERNED_  TEMPE.AZ  THURSDAY_  62-0118

E-36    Now, there's so many people say if you quiver, hold your eyes shut, and do all kinds of things and get sensations. You get spirits, friends, but if your life don't tally up to what you're professing, then there's something wrong with the spirit you got. See? It's--it's true. See? You--you must be sure. The Holy Spirit will bring forth a holy life. That is right. And if the desire's in your heart... If you have to force yourself constantly to try to press, and do what's right, and the world's still hungering in you, then there's something wrong. See, the Holy Spirit in you will not hunger for the world; It'll hunger for God. If it's hard for you to go to church, and press yourself to come when the church is open, there's something wrong with that spirit. It's trying to keep you away from God. The Spirit of God will run you right straight to the church every time the door opens for fellowship. Yes, sir. See? So you've got to be sure of this now. The time is at hand.

*YOU'VE GOT TO SURRENDER YOURSELF, GOT TO GIVE YOURSELF COMPLETELY TO GOD.

PERSEVERANCE_  JEFF.IN  V-10 N-3  SUNDAY_  62-0218

33    You've got to have faith in what you're doing. "And if your heart condemns us not..." If we know the Bible teaches us something and we fail to do that, then there's something we can't have faith in. See, you--you can't get yourself together, because you know there's certain things there that God teaches, that you will not cope with. And when you do that, then where you at? You see, you--you can't have faith on what you're coming to. You can't come up here and say, "I--I--I, last night I was out drunk, and, Lord, I want You to heal me this morning. I--I--I'll--I'll won't drink too much more." You've got to surrender yourself, got to give yourself completely to God. You've got to obey every bit of the Word, sell out completely and then take the Word. That Word is in the church. It's a living Word.

*YOUNG MEN'S HEARTS BURNING WITH ZEAL TO TAKE THE GOSPEL IS WHAT WE NEED.

THE.UNCHANGEABLE.GOD.WORKING.IN.AN.UNEXPECTABLE.WAY_  PHOENIX.AZ  SATURDAY_  62-0120

E-16    You notice most of the women today has wash machines, and electric ironers, and push button dishwashers, and everything like that; and yet they got less time to pray than they ever had. You know, Susanna Wesley had seventeen children. And she--with them seventeen children, packing the water from a spring, and washing on her hands, and yet she could find two or three hours a day to pray with her children, with seventeen little fellows. And out of there come a John and a Charles.

That's what's the matter today, reason our schools are letting down, no ministers coming in, young men interested. We have... need some more praying fathers and mothers is what we need to make our schools fill up. Young men's hearts burning with zeal to take the Gospel is what we need. But things are changing.

*THAT'S IT, PERSISTENCE, PERSEVERANCE, STAY RIGHT WITH THE WORD OF GOD.

PERSEVERANCE_  JEFF.IN  V-10 N-3  SUNDAY_  62-0218

142    Oh, brother, fight till every symptom's gone. Hallelujah. Fight till every--every doubt is gone.

Say, "Well, my case is different." Take that jawbone and knock it out of there.

This one said, "But, you know, I'm just a little different; I'm getting too old." Knock it out. Abraham was a hundred. Go on.

"Well, but my case is very bad." Jonah was in the belly of the whale, hands tied behind him, laying down in the whale's vomit. Everywhere he looked was whale's belly. He had plenty of symptoms, but he turned over and said, "Once more will I look to Your holy temple, Lord." Can't hide Him. That's it, persistence, perseverance, stay right with the Word of God.

*THEN BE PERSEVERANCE WHEN YOU--PERSEVERANT WHEN YOU GET THE WORD. HOLD ONTO IT, THE PROMISE; IT'S YOURS.

PERSEVERANCE_  JEFF.IN  V-10 N-3  SUNDAY_  62-0218

107    A man or a woman that takes God's Word, you got ahold of something. Your anchor holds within the veil. The storms and gales may press and shake in every way, but you're anchored. She's coming right on up to the place. You're persevering. You're going to believe it.

Noah believed it, sure, and he achieved God's purpose for his life. Do you want to achieve God's purpose in your life? Then be perseverance when you--perseverant when you get the Word. Hold onto It, the promise; it's yours.

*ASK HIM. STAY RIGHT WITH IT. YES, SIR, HOLD ON TO IT IF YOU KNOW IT'S REAL.

THE.UNCHANGEABLE.GOD.WORKING.IN.AN.UNEXPECTABLE.WAY_  PHOENIX.AZ  SATURDAY_  62-0120

E-38    He knows your needs. He knows how to bring it to you. But the trouble of it is, because it don't come the way you think it ought to come, then you're all discouraged, and you hand it back to Him. Let's ask Him, and believe that He will send it just the way He wants to send it, and accept it upon the basis. That's right. See?

If you ask Him, don't make Him a liar. He can't lie. He promised, "Ask the Father anything in My Name, I'll do it." Now, God can't lie. Ask Him and it shall be done. "Seek, ye shall find; knock, it'll be opened." We believe that. Certainly we do.

E-39    They got a manger. So what did they do? Had this little Babe in a manger, was that the mighty King? They refused Him. Yes, sir. Why? He didn't come the way they expected Him to come. And friends, you might think that was a horrible thing. It was. But you know, we're guilty of the same thing. We are guilty of the same thing. We ask God for things, and then we walk around and... And if He don't just pour something on us and give us something that we think we ought to have, then we just hand it back. See? Don't do that. Ask Him. Stay right with it. Yes, sir, hold on to it if you know it's real.

* AND NOW CHRIST SENT THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND HE IS GOD IN SPIRIT. SO THEN, HOLD ON TO IT.

THE.UNCHANGEABLE.GOD.WORKING.IN.AN.UNEXPECTABLE.WAY_  PHOENIX.AZ  SATURDAY_  62-0120

E-40    And what's more real than the Word of God? And the Word of God is made flesh, and dwelt among us: Christ. And now Christ sent the Holy Spirit, and He is God in Spirit. So then, hold on to it. If the Holy Spirit's here and give us that promise, stay with it. What's the matter with us Pentecostal people who profess to have the Holy Ghost and afraid to trust God anywhere nearly? What's the matter? We're expecting it in a--some other way.

*BUT IF IT'S GOD'S WORD, IT'S GOT TO COME TO PASS. BE PERSEVERANT, SEE GOD MAKE IT COME TO PASS.

PERSEVERANCE_  JEFF.IN  V-10 N-3  SUNDAY_  62-0218

110    Oh, he run like a coward with all of his education. All of his theology, he failed. All of his great things, he failed. But one day in a burning bush God met him. When God come to him in this burning bush, watch him, with a stick in his hand, his wife on a mule, with little Gershom setting on her hip, on his road to Egypt. What was he? Going down to take over. He was--had perseverance; he was very persistent.

"Moses, do you think you at eighty years old, and with a crooked stick in your hand, dry as it can be..." A crooked stick, a one man invasion, going down to Egypt like one man going over to Russia to take over... We only need... God only needs one man. That's only... He only needs one man completely in His hand. One man, that's all He needs. He can shake Russia to pieces with that one man.

PERSEVERANCE_  JEFF.IN  V-10 N-3  SUNDAY_  62-0218

112    He took Noah, or Moses, pardon me... He took Moses while he was running this a-way, settled down to a nice life, lovely young girl, married her, had a baby, falling heir to his father-in-law's sheep, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He had everything made, had a nice home, place, comfortable living out there, and hunt every once in a while with his crossbow, maybe, and kill a deer, and plenty of berries, and plenty of sheep, and wool and trade, the caravans come through. Why, he had it made, nothing he had to worry about. But one day, one day the burden of the people of... His people that was burdened was done left his mind. They were down in Egypt. He had failed, so God can do something else about it. But one day when God met him in a burning bush, you talk about perseverance, here he goes.

"Where's your army?"

"I don't need any. My army is an unseen army." Like it was at Dothan one morning with the prophet... "My army is an unseen army." Here he goes; the only thing you can see is an old crooked stick, leading this mule behind, and the whiskers a-blowing. "Praise God." His eyes set towards heaven, going down to take over.

Sometimes faith makes you act ridiculous to the carnal mind. But if it's God's Word, it's got to come to pass. Be perseverant, see God make it come to pass.

Psa 119:57  CHETH. Thou art my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy words.
Psa 119:58  I intreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word.
Psa 119:59  I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.
Psa 119:60  I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.
Psa 119:61  The bands of the wicked have robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.
Psa 119:62  At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.
Psa 119:63  I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.
Psa 119:64  The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.
Psa 119:65  TETH. Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto thy word.
Psa 119:66  Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.
Psa 119:67  Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.
Psa 119:68  Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.
Psa 119:69  The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.
Psa 119:70  Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law.
Psa 119:71  It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
Psa 119:72  The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.
Psa 119:73  JOD. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.
Psa 119:74  They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word.
Psa 119:75  I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.
Psa 119:76  Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.
Psa 119:77  Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.
Psa 119:78  Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts.
Psa 119:79  Let those that fear thee turn unto me, and those that have known thy testimonies.
Psa 119:80  Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.
Psa 119:81  CAPH. My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.

26-0619A_THE SEASON OF CHANGE

26-0619A_THE SEASON OF CHANGE

Ecc 3:1  To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Ecc 3:2  A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

Ecc 3:3  A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

Ecc 3:4  A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

Ecc 3:5  A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

Ecc 3:6  A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

Ecc 3:7  A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

Ecc 3:8  A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Hab 2:3  For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Jer 8:7  Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.

HUMBLE.THYSELF_  JEFF.IN  V-21 N-1  SUNDAY_  63-0714E

56      And then we got on the subject, "If the Lord said, 'I'm going to allot you twenty-five years. You're not going to get feeble. You'll be able to go, and I'm going to allot you twenty-five years on earth,' would you take from--from birth to twenty-five, or from twenty-five to fifty, fifty to seventy-five, or seventy-five to a hundred?"

57    Now, any man that's allotted any time on earth, would certainly be a most rashel thing if he don't spend that time in service of God. I don't care what he does.

HUMBLE.THYSELF_  JEFF.IN  V-21 N-1  SUNDAY_  63-0714E

60      Then I was thinking about, "What about me? Where will I take?" I'd take the seventy-five to a hundred. I'd be smarter, wiser. I'd be more settled. I'd know more about what I'm doing. I'm ten, eight or ten, years older than the last time I was overseas. I won't jump in like I'm killing snakes. I'll know more about it, see. I know how.

THE.RESTORATION.OF.THE.BRIDE.TREE_  JEFF.IN  V-3 N-15  SUNDAY_  62-0422

20-2    All that the winter killed, then the sun restores. Returning of the sun, what does it do? It forces (Listen.), it forces death... When the sun, the spring sun, comes back in line of the earth again, it actually forces death to give up its dead (Amen.) to a resurrection. For what? A restoration--a restore again.

THE.TESTIMONY.OF.A.TRUE.WITNESS_  JEFF.IN  V-15 N-6  SUNDAY_  61-1105

83    And today that gives us a great testimony, as a witness of the God of creation. Because that when we are in the season of mortal life, raising our children, marrying and bringing forth families, this is a life or the season of mortal life. But when we have been borned of above, the body returns to the dust from where it come, and the spirit goes down to where it come from, or goes up, rather, to where it come from, to the God Who gave it, and there will come another season. And that season that will come will be the immortal season. And when the Son of God rises with healing in His wings, it'd be totally impossible to hold those bodies in the ground any longer. They'll come forth in the brightness of the Son of God. Very nature itself testifies of that.

THE.TESTIMONY.OF.A.TRUE.WITNESS_  JEFF.IN  V-15 N-6  SUNDAY_  61-1105

84    So if we are a Christian, and we are borned of the Spirit, death can hold nothing but victory for us, because this old corruptible body that Satan still has power over will drop into the dust of the earth. But when that season... This is the wrong season now; this is mortal season. But immortal season is coming. When the immortal One comes He will bring with Him the immortal spirits that has returned to Him from the earth, and they shall come forth again in the resurrection for the great millennium, and shall shine in His glory.

1Co 15:51  Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

Psa 102:4  My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.
Psa 102:5  By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.
Psa 102:6  I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.
Psa 102:7  I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.
Psa 102:8  Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.
Psa 102:9  For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,
Psa 102:10  Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.
Psa 102:11  My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.
Psa 102:12  But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.
Psa 102:13  Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

26-0615P_PERSEVERANCE_Message of the Hour Believers Tabernacle

26-0615P_PERSEVERANCE

Mar 7:24  And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.
Mar 7:25  For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
Mar 7:26  The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
Mar 7:27  But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
Mar 7:28  And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.
Mar 7:29  And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
Mar 7:30  And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.

Rev 3:13  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Rev 3:14  And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Rev 3:15  I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16  So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17  Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Rev 3:18  I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

2Pe 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

*AND I THINK THAT'S THE ATTITUDE THAT ALL CHRISTIANS SHOULD BE IN AT ALL TIMES. BE PERSEVERANT.

PERSEVERANCE_  CHICAGO.IL  SUNDAY_  62-0520

E-11    "Perseverance," according to Webster's dictionary, I was--I was just looking, it means to be "persistent, to--in making a goal." You must be fully persuaded and be persistent. Then you're perseverant. And--and now, it's--it's a good word. I like it. I'm very fond of that fine word: perseverant. And I think that's the attitude that all Christians should be in at all times. Be perseverant.

And men through all ages that has faith in what they are trying to achieve, has always been perseverant. All down through the history of time, men that's ever done anything has been men trying to achieve something. And they have to have faith in what they're trying to achieve, and when they do, then they are perseverant.

PERSEVERANCE_  CHICAGO.IL  SUNDAY_  62-0520

E-13    Then I got to thinking on perseverance. And I thought, "Yes, many men is perseverant." Before you can be perseverant, you have to have faith in what you're trying to achieve. You've--you've got to first have faith before you can be perseverant. So faith and perseverance works hand in hand together. They are brothers. You must believe, or you'll have no--you have no confidence. You--you won't--you won't know whether you're right or wrong. But when you have reached that place that you have faith in what you're trying to do, then you can be perseverant.

*"PERSEVERANCE" MEANS "TO--TO BE PERSISTENT, TO MAKE A GOAL."

PERSEVERANCE_  JEFF.IN  V-10 N-3  SUNDAY_  62-0218

23    Now, this morning we want to talk on faith. Now, my subject this morning is: "Perseverance." "Perseverance" means "to--to be persistent, to make a goal." Now, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

*YOU'VE GOT YOUR MIND SET ON SOMETHING, AND YOU'RE--YOU'RE PERSISTENT IN IT, BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE IT'S THE THING THAT YOU WANT, AND YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN GET IT.

PERSEVERANCE_  JEFF.IN  V-10 N-3  SUNDAY_  62-0218

27    Now, perseverance, to be persistent, to try to make a goal, trying to... You've got your mind set on something, and you're--you're persistent in it, because you believe it's the thing that you want, and you believe you can get it. Now, pardon me. To be persistent, you've got your mind made up now that what you're going to do. Now, you cannot have faith in God without knowing the Word of God or knowing something about God.

*IT'S, YOU'RE BASED ON FREE MORAL AGENCY, AND WHATEVER SPIRIT THAT YOU LET DOMINATE YOU WILL BRING FORTH THE FRUITS, YOUR LIFE WILL BE DOMINATED BY THE INSIDE.

We have our body, and our being here is like a seed. And a seed on the outside has a shell; inside the shell has a crust, or a pulp, pardon me; and inside the pulp has a germ. That's the way we are: body, soul, spirit. Now, to the body there's five senses: see, taste, feel, smell, and hear. To the soul there's conscience, and so forth: five avenues to it.

The inside is one, one avenue. And that avenue is the same place that God set every man from Adam and Eve: self-will. You will to live or you will to die, either one you want to. It's, you're based on free moral agency, and whatever spirit that you let dominate you will bring forth the fruits, your life will be dominated by the inside. And faith...

*AND IF YOU GOT THE SPIRIT OF GOD IN YOU, YOU'VE GOT FAITH, AND YOU'LL BELIEVE EVERY WORD THAT GOD WROTE.

So many people rely upon these five senses on the outside. They're fine, nothing against them, if they agree with this sixth sense. This soul... This spirit only can be of two kinds, one of them is the Spirit of God, the other is the spirit of the devil. You can't serve two masters at the same time. You're wholly given to one or wholly given to the other. And if you got the Spirit of God in you, you've got faith, and you'll believe every Word that God wrote. And if you haven't, you might be...

*BUT WHEN YOU DISAGREE WITH THE WORD, THAT SHOWS THAT IT ISN'T THE SPIRIT OF GOD, 'CAUSE THE HOLY SPIRIT WROTE THE BIBLE.

PERSEVERANCE_  JEFF.IN  V-10 N-3  SUNDAY_  62-0218

26    Now, the devil is not like some people think; he's mean and everything, but he's deceitful. The devil makes you think that you're right. But when you disagree with the Word, that shows that it isn't the Spirit of God, 'cause the Holy Spirit wrote the Bible. And then it's got to be agreeable with the Word. And remember last Sunday, just one little disbelief in God's Word... Eve, Satan told her the truth, and he never denied the Word being true, but that one little part of the Word caused all this trouble. The woman disbelieved It because she was hunting for wisdom instead of staying with the Word. When God says anything, heavens and earth will pass, but His Word shall never pass away. God's Word must be fulfilled to the dot. Just to the very tittle and jot, It must be fulfilled.

*BUT WHEN YOU THOROUGHLY UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS, WHAT YOU'RE AFTER, AND ARE SATISFIED YOU'RE GOING TO DO IT, THEN YOU CAN BE PERSISTENT

PERSEVERANT_  SOUTH.GATE.CA  SATURDAY_  62-0623

E-23    And men through all ages that's ever tried to achieve something has been persistent. Man, in order to be persistent (I might quote again), is to know what you are after. And if you do not know, you're not certain of your standing. But when you thoroughly understand what it is, what you're after, and are satisfied you're going to do it, then you can be persistent, get really persistent, holding on.

I like the--the approach. I like people that's persistent when they are... Realize, no matter if the man is--is wrong, but yet he believes that he's right. But now, when he gets to a place he's proven wrong, then to try to be per... He cannot be persistent then, because he's done proven wrong. But when he is right, and then will hold onto it...

Now, you cannot have faith in God without knowing the Word of God or knowing something about God.

...I believe the virtue is in Christ, and Christ is the Word. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelled among us." Now, the Word Itself comes back in the form of the Holy Spirit, into us, and It's Word in you: God in you. So many wants to point God to some mystical something way away, or so far away they overreach it. God is in you. The hope of Glory, Christ, the mind that was in Christ in you. You're reaching plumb away from it, trying to get what's been given to you. God, in the human being. All, God...

1Co 13:7  Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
1Co 13:8  Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
1Co 13:9  For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

Jas 1:12  Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Jas 1:13  Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Jas 1:14  But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jas 1:15  Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Psa 136:1  O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Psa 136:2  O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Psa 136:3  O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Psa 86:15  But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

2Pe 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2Pe 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2Pe 3:11  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Mat 10:18  And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
Mat 10:19  But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
Mat 10:20  For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
Mat 10:21  And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
Mat 10:22  And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

26-0612A_TAKING GOD AT HIS WORD PT-9 (TRUSTING & EXPECTING FROM THE WORD OF GOD)

26-0612A_TAKING GOD AT HIS WORD PT-9 (TRUSTING & EXPECTING FROM THE WORD OF GOD)

Mat 25:26  His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

Mat 25:27  Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

Mat 4:23  And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
Mat 4:24  And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
Mat 4:25  And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.

Psa 18:30  As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
Psa 18:31  For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?
Psa 18:32  It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
Psa 20:7  Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
Psa 20:8  They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
Psa 20:9  Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.

*YOU HAVE TO HAVE FAITH BEFORE YOU CAN EXPECT ANYTHING.

EXPECTATION_  TUCSON.AZ  SUNDAY_  61-0205M

E-3   .....Expectations usually is based upon a faith. You have to have faith before you can expect anything. And now, like many of the servants of God in the Old Testament... Faith cometh by hearing, hearing of the Word.

EXPECTATION_  TUCSON.AZ  SUNDAY_  61-0205M

E-4   .....And He remains God, and His heart is just as anxious to give us what we ask for as we are to ask, and more so: because He "so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life." And if He loved us while we were sinners, alienated from Him, the commonwealth of God, how much more is He willing this morning to give us exceedingly abundantly above all that we could do or think.

*GOD BEING INFINITE, AND CANNOT MAKE A MISTAKE, AND HE'S PERFECT, THEREFORE, ALL OF HIS... ALL OF HIS PROMISES MUST BE PERFECT AS HE IS PERFECT.

EXPECTATION_  TUCSON.AZ  SUNDAY_  61-0205M

E-15    And I've often quoted this, that God is obligated to His Word. I like to read just a word or two of It, because what I say will fail, because I'm man, but His Word cannot fail because it's God. What... God is ever called on the scene at any time to make a decision... And the first decision God makes has to be the same decision every time.

Now, there's where you must solemnly base your faith, on THUS SAITH THE LORD. You must believe it, that it's God's Word. And that's the only hope that we have, the only substantial hope that we have, is on the Word of God. And now, God being infinite, and cannot make a mistake, and He's perfect, therefore, all of His... all of His promises must be perfect as He is perfect. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us." the Word itself. So therefore, the Bible is the Word of God. It is God Himself placed upon paper.

*WHEN WE TAKE GOD AT HIS WORD, WE HAVE TO SEPARATE OURSELVES FROM ALL THINGS AROUND THAT'S CONTRARY TO THAT WORD.

EXPECTATION_  TUCSON.AZ  SUNDAY_  61-0205M

E-17    Now, we find out that Abraham of old, when he was seventy-five years old and his wife sixty-five (Sarah), how that God spoke to him and revealed to him that he was going to have a baby by Sarah, his wife. He was sterile and she was barren. And they'd been this way all their lives, but yet God told him that he was going to have a child by Sarah.

And He asked him to separate himself because of this promise. And that's the way we have to do. When we take God at His Word, we have to separate ourselves from all things around that's contrary to that Word. You can't go to people and say, "Now, do you think I got my healing? You think...?" Nothing what they think--that has nothing to do into it. It's what you think. It's up to you. So he was asked to separate himself, and he did so with great expectations of receiving the child.

*BUT INSTEAD OF GROWING WEAK BECAUSE IT NEVER HAPPENED THE FIRST MONTH, HE GREW STRONGER ALL THE TIME, BECAUSE HIS EXPECTATIONS WAS GREATER.

EXPECTATION_  TUCSON.AZ  SUNDAY_  61-0205M

E-18    Now, we find out that that child never arrived until twenty-five years later. But instead of growing weak because it never happened the first month, he grew stronger all the time, because his expectations was greater. If Sarah was one month older, it'd be one month greater in the expectations, because God kept His Word. It would be a lot better for her to have the child at a hundred years old than it was at sixty years old. See what I mean? It was a greater miracle all the time. And he never grew weak, but grew stronger all the time.

Now, we are the children of Abraham. The Bible said so. We, being dead in Christ, take on Abraham's seed, and are heirs according to the promise. We are heirs of the promise with Abraham, because Abraham was given the promise. Now, if we are his heirs with Abraham, then we are Abraham's children. And the same faith that Abraham had we have ourselves, that when God makes a promise, just know it's going to happen. It can't do anything else.

26-0608P_DESPERATION PT-4 (HE SATISFIETH THE LONGING SOUL)

26-0608P_DESPERATION PT-4

(HE SATISFIETH THE LONGING SOUL)

Jer 29:10  For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.

Jer 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jer 29:12  Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

Jer 29:13  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Jer 29:14  And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

Jer 29:15  Because ye have said, The LORD hath raised us up prophets in Babylon;

Jer 29:16  Know that thus saith the LORD of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwelleth in this city, and of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity;

Jer 29:17  Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.

Jer 29:18  And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them:

Psa 107:7  And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
Psa 107:8  Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Psa 107:9  For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Ecc 7:1  A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.
Ecc 7:2  It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.
Ecc 7:3  Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.
Ecc 7:4  The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.
Ecc 7:5  It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.
Ecc 7:6  For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity.
Ecc 7:7  Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart.
Ecc 7:8  Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
Ecc 7:9  Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.
Ecc 7:10  Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.
Ecc 7:11  Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.
Ecc 7:12  For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
Ecc 7:13  Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?
Ecc 7:14  In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.

Pro 1:23  Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Pro 1:24  Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

Pro 1:25  But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

Pro 1:26  I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

Pro 1:27  When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

Pro 1:28  Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

Pro 1:29  For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

Pro 1:30  They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

Pro 1:31  Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

Pro 1:32  For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

Pro 1:33  But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

*GOD, IN THESE LAST DAYS, HAS MANIFESTED HIMSELF SO TO US, BY HIS GREAT SIGNS AND POWER, SHOULD MAKE US DESPERATE.

DESPERATIONS_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-1  SUNDAY_  63-0901E

127    God, in these last days, has manifested Himself so to us, by His great signs and power, should make us desperate. That's right. And His willing to heal us and save us, ought to throw us all into desperation to get to that healing Stone. That's right.

*WHEN MEN AND WOMEN GET TO A PLACE THAT THEY'VE GOT TO HAVE GOD OR DIE, YOU'LL GET TO THE WATERBROOK.

THIRSTING.FOR.LIFE_  CHICAGO.IL  SATURDAY_  59-0613

E-43    David said, "As a hart thirsts for the waterbrook, my soul thirsts after thee, O God."

Could you imagine the little deer with the blood streaming out of it, and it's running, and the hounds is right behind it. And it's got its little nose up [Brother Branham imitates panting--Ed.] sniffing everywhere. "If I could just smell water. I've got to get to water, or I'll die." Once to water it's safe. It's got to find water or die. David said, "As the hart panteth for the waterbrook, my soul thirsts after thee, O God."

When men and women get to a place that they've got to have God or die, you'll get to the waterbrook. That's right. If you're sick and you need healing, if you're in a desperate condition, I can say there is fountain filled with Blood drawn from Immanuel's veins, Where sinners plunge beneath the flood, Lose all their guilty stain. It's Life Everlasting to know Him, not to know His Book, not to know His church, not to know His creed, but to know Him, know Him your personal Saviour Lord, fills you with the Holy Spirit. It puts Life in you to walk forward. That's the Life that David was talking about.

My lips shall praise Thee, because Thy lovingkindness is better to me than Life. My lips shall praise Thee.

*YOU GET--WHEN YOU GET DESPERATE FOR IT, REALLY GOT TO HAVE IT OR DIE (SEE?), THEN IS WHEN YOU'RE GOING TO GET IT.

QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS_  JEFF.IN  COD  WEDNESDAY_  59-1223

483-65    That Holy Ghost ought to be more important to you than everything else there is in the world: your prestige, your life, your job, your anything that there is. You should not cease until you have It. You must receive It. It must be the most... And you say, "Well, I'm afraid they at--they my work. I'm afraid that my husband, my..." Don't be afraid; let That be first place. Let everything else go. Let That be first. "Well, I expect to get It one of these days, Brother Branham." Not one of these days: now. This is the time. "Let It be first before I--before I do anything else. Let me have It now." Desperate. That would help answer our question. You get--when you get desperate for It, really got to have It or die (See?), then is when you're going to get It.

*YOU'VE GOT TO COME, DESPERATE, DYING, THEN YOU GET IT. THAT'S RIGHT. HE PROMISED IT.

GOD.HIDING.HIMSELF.IN.SIMPLICITY_  ALBQ.NM  FRIDAY_  63-0412E

320      Now it's up to you. Now, if you'll believe with all your heart, it'll be settled from right now. This will be a memorial night. They probably won't close these doors tonight. You'll stay all night in here. But if you do like this, say, "Lord, I'm standing on my feet. Until You fill me according to Your promise, I'll never move from where I'm standing." You mean business with God, He'll get to business with you.

321    But until you do, you're hammering, "Lord, will You give me the Holy Ghost tonight? I don't feel nothing. Well, maybe I'll try tomorrow night." You're not going to get anything from God, like that.

322    You've got to come, desperate, dying, then you get It. That's right. He promised It. If it isn't, what are you using your time for, if them promises are not true?

*OUR DEAR LORD JESUS, HIMSELF, IN THE WORLD'S GREATEST BATTLEGROUND, GETHSEMANE, HE CRIED OUT, IN DESPAIR.

DESPERATIONS_  JEFF.IN  V-4 N-1  SUNDAY_  63-0901E

126      Our dear Lord Jesus, Himself, in the world's greatest battleground, Gethsemane, He cried out, in despair. Should He take the sins of the world, or should He just remain on earth with His beloved disciples, what He wanted to do? But watch His humility as He humbled Himself, "Not My will but Thine be done," humbled Himself to the Word, the promised Word of the God of Heaven.

Notice, then, He went a little further. And if He went a little farther, how much more ought we to go a little farther. See? And notice, the Scripture says here, in Luke, that He prayed earnestly. Brother, sister, if Jesus had to pray earnestly, how much more have we got to pray earnestly. If Christ, the God of Heaven, made flesh, had to pray earnestly, then how much more are we, sinners saved by grace, pray earnestly! If--if the decision throwed the Son of God into despair, what will it do to you and I? Desperately we must cry.

* THAT'S WHEN YOU'LL HAVE TO CRY OUT LIKE ISAIAH DID...AND WHEN YOU GET DESPERATE ABOUT THIS THING, SOMETHING WILL TAKE PLACE.

HEAR.HIS.VOICE_  JEFF.IN  SUNDAY_  58-1005M

E-56    You'll be kicked out some of these days from these interdenominationals like this. It'll come a time when you'll have to belong to an organization or you can't worship. As you know, the Scripture says it will be. They just make fun of you now. But there'll be a time where there'll be a boycott. For the mark of the beast must come. You'll either belong to the confederation of the churches, the beast like it is in Rome, or you won't worship at all. That's what the Scripture says.

That's when you'll have to cry out like Isaiah did. And he got down in the temple, and he realized that; he raised his hands, and he said, "Oh, Lord, I am a man of unclean lips." You think you're good, but wait till that time comes. "I dwell among peoples of unclean lips." What did he? Got desperate. And when you get desperate about this thing, something will take place. You're not desperate enough.

HEAR.HIS.VOICE_  JEFF.IN  SUNDAY_  58-1005M

E-57    "Oh, well, I join church that settles it." But you have to be desperate about it. You have to really need God. Jesus said, "Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled." But as long as you're satisfied with the things of the world, how can God ever speak to you? You say, "God never spoke to me." Why? He wants to. But you're too filled up with the things of the world. That's what's the matter with us today. We put all of our time on things of the world and the pleasures of the world, and give no time to God. It's true.

*THEN IN HIS LATE YEARS, HE WROTE A COMPLETE BIBLE. HE STARTED AT GENESIS AND ENDED UP IN REVELATION. WHY? BECAUSE HE GOT DESPERATE IN A TIME WHERE HE SEEN IT NEEDED MOST.*

HEAR.HIS.VOICE_  JEFF.IN  SUNDAY_  58-1005M

E-59    So will it be with every individual God calls. You've got to be borned again, changed and made new, not imagination but from your heart, something that really takes place.

And one of the Angels... If you ask you shall receive. One of the Angels went over to the brazen altar, and took the tongs, and reached over, and got a coal of living fire, and ran over to Isaiah, and placed it in his mouth, said, "Now, you're clean, go speak the Word."

Isaiah was changed after he heard that voice. Then in his late years, he wrote a complete Bible. He started at Genesis and ended up in Revelation. There's sixty-six Books of the Bible. There's sixty-six chapters of Isaiah. Why? Because he got desperate in a time where he seen it needed most.

Psa 66:16  Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

Psa 66:17  I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.

Psa 66:18  If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

Psa 66:19  But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

Psa 66:20  Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
