68   The Bible said, “The Gospel came to us not in word only, but through the power, manifestations of the Holy Ghost.” In other words, “It’s the Holy Ghost taking the Word of God and making It manifest.” See? And, otherwise, the only way that the signs of Mark 16 can follow the believer is that the Holy Spirit Himself takes the Word of God and demonstrates it to the people. That’s it. Now, faith makes that Word live. See?

69   The Word is God. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” And then Jesus said, “If ye abide in Me, and My Word in you, ask what you will, it’ll be done for you.” See? That’s staying with Christ in the Word. Don’t go right or left, stay right with It. See? And then It’s actually not your word then, It’s His Word, and His Word has the power and authority behind It. Now, and if the Holy Spirit, which is God’s Word, or the power of God’s Word, comes in with God’s Word, It’ll make God’s Word display Itself.

Are you willing in the Presence of God to raise your hand, you who have not yet, and say, "God, be merciful to me; I want Your Spirit in me, for..."

Would you be willing to say, "God, I'm going down to the potter's house. I'm sick and tired. I've always wanted a consecrated life. And tonight I'm going down to the potter's house to lay my heart down and say, 'God, break it all up and give me a new heart, a new spirit, and put Your Spirit right in the middle of it, and let my life run right along according to Your Word. Make me a Micaiah of this day, that I can stand on THUS SAITH THE LORD. And my vision, and my life, that--that I live before You, not I, but the Spirit in me, lives the life that the Bible requires.   E-40    The Angel's message... It's always been that way. That's the way God wants. What did it do? The changed... By taking God at His Word, changed the whole natural course of life for her. It'll do the same thing for you. It certainly will. It'll take you sinners, and wash you as white as snow. It'll take you, critics, and make you one of us. It sure will. It'll take you that's sick and make you well. It'll take you that's on your road to hell and change you around and start you up to heaven. Just take Him at His Word, and believe it, and start rejoicing.

  E-11    But the trouble of it is, that men and women are born in this world, some born to be condemned, and you preach the Gospel, it's just like pouring water on a duck's back. Runs right off, and no--has no affect at all, that's right. The men and women who can grasp the promise of God, and say, "It's my personal property..." Every man that's born of the Spirit of God is give a checkbook by Jesus Christ, with His Name signed on every check. If you're afraid to fill it out, that's your bad luck. That's right.

Brother, anything... Jesus said, "Whatsoever things you desire, when you pray, believe you receive it, and you shall have it. Whatever, whatsoever things, if you believe."

If I need healing, I just write out the check, and put it in the deposit and say, "I'm sending it to Calvary." There's where it was paid for, there's where you deposit it. Hallelujah. The first thing you know, the re--blessings will be flowing back and the sickness will be gone. I be well and rejoicing again. Amen.

  E-13    Billy Graham, not long ago, having a meeting, went into a certain city, and said they had thirty thousand converts. They were chased down thirty days from then, couldn't find thirty converts. The trouble of it is, you're asking people to stand up and "accept Christ as my personal testimony," stand up like that and that's all they know about it; worked up under a little mental tel--enthusiasm. And the next thing you know, it's gone. The only way that man will ever stay, is for him to lay down there and die out to self, and be reborn again by the Spirit of God and filled with the Holy Ghost. Then he's no more his own, God took him over and got full control, and moving in him. Then he can't be nothing else, for God has made a new creature out of him.

47    Now, we find out, and take some of his life, when God blessed him and made him a great man. Why, even everybody respected him, even to his wisdom, had become so great. His inspiration from God had vindicated him to be God's servant, so plainly, until the people come from everywhere to hear him. And then Satan begin to accuse that man. And that's the way he does every inspired servant of God, Satan is always there to accuse him of everything that he does that's not right.

48    And, now, we find out his life and trials, and his great faith. Even Jesus, when He came on the earth, He referred to the patience of Job. He said, "Have you not read of the patience of Job?" Faith waits with patience for the promised Word to be fulfilled.

54    So God told him, He said, "Now, he's in your hands, but don't you take his life." And Satan even stretched as far as he could on that. He took every friend, and everything he had, almost his complete life, but he couldn't take his life. But Job still held right on, there was no turning back.

55    You see, when a man or a person has once really come in contact with God, with that genuine, revealed faith that "God is!" There's nothing, no time, no where, can ever separate that man from his God. I believe it was Paul said, "There's no strife, no hunger, no perils, neither living creatures, or death, or anything that can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus." You are securely anchored in Him because you were ordained to that Life.

  56      But Satan thought he could twist him around a little bit, and cuff him up, and make him do it. But, you see, Job with his perfect revelation of God, and who God was, and how God loved him, he waited! No matter what the circumstances was, he waited for his faith to be confirmed, because he had had a grip on God, a revelation. That I spoke of last night.

 

*... THERE'S NOTHING CAN EVER SEPARATE YOU FROM THAT FAITH THAT'S ANCHORED TO YOU... BUT, FIRST, IT HAS TO BE REVEALED TO YOU.

57    Now, when the sick people that's in the building, the crippled people, or you that have a need of God, when you can get that type of a revelation that you are "justified," when you are actually justified in asking the thing that you're asking for, and believe that "He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek after Him," there's nothing can ever separate you from that faith that's anchored to you. See? But, first, it has to be revealed to you.

  102      O man and women, tonight, if you could look around and see how close we are to the Coming of the Lord. You who've put off the baptism of the Holy Ghost. You maybe relied upon some sensation, or something that you done that Satan can impersonate, and can't have the real Spirit in you to go all the way in God's promises. How can a man that claims to have the Holy Ghost deny one Word of this Bible, being, "not right"? You can't do it!

103    No matter how religious you are, how many churches you belong to, how many books your name's on, if that genuine Holy Ghost is in you (which is this Word manifested), you'll see the Message and the hour, because it's the Holy Ghost that does it. But there has to be something light that off, inspiration strike you. And if there's... if you pour water on the ground, on the ground, on the ground, and there's no seed in there to strike it, how can it ever bring forth anything? There's nothing there to bring forth. That is, that only the Elected of God will see It.

 

*NOW WHILE THE INSPIRATION'S POURED OUT, TO GATHER THE BRIDE TOGETHER, IT'S ONLY THOSE WHO ARE ELECTED WILL SEE IT... NOW, INSPIRATION HAS TO STRIKE IT.

  104      The Elected of God seen It in Noah's time, Moses' time, Jesus' time, the apostles' time, Luther's time, Wesley's time, Pentecostal time, because that was the Seed that was on the earth when this inspiration was poured out. Now while the inspiration's poured out, to gather the Bride together, it's only those who are Elected will see It. Jesus said, "I thank Thee, Father, that Thou hast hid these things from the eyes of the wise and prudent, and revealed It to babes such as learn." Now, inspiration has to strike it.

  105      Now, when the inspiration struck him, that did it. He had It then! Now, we find out, there comes a time of these crisis when the press is right on. And you look around today, look at the condition we're living in. Aren't we living in a modern Sodom and Gomorrah? Hasn't the world come back? That was a Gentile world that was destroyed then, by fire. Didn't Jesus say, in St. Luke, the 17th chapter, the 28th, 29th, and 30th verse, that, "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man, when the Son of man is being revealed"? What is a "revealed"? Is a secret made known, a revelation; is to reveal or make known a secret.

106    Now, these things that's been hid all through the church ages is now being revealed, made known. Now, we could say that, and if God didn't back that up, that's wrong. See, God don't need anybody to interpret His Word, He's His Own interpreter. He said, "A virgin shall conceive," and she did. He said, "Let there be light," and there was. And we are not living in Luther's age, Wesley age, or the Pentecostal age. The Pentecostal age was only a restoration of the gifts coming back to the church, but we're living in the evening time, we're living in a time of the calling out of the Bride.

  E-4    Now, Peter was just not an ordinary fellow had fished one or two nights. He knowed all the signs of fishing; just how the moon's supposed to be, just how the waters are. And they'd fished all night long, and had taken nothing. Now, just think, here it is, I want you to get it. See, they had fished all night, and had taken nothing; and yet Jesus told them to go right straight back to where they'd been fishing and drop down the net, they'd get a whole draught of fish.

Now, if they'd just fished through that water, a hour before, hour after hour, all night long, and had taken not even one fish, how in the world are you going to drop the net down and get a whole bunch of fishes? They're just not running. It just doesn't even look reasonable, sensible.

But Peter said, listen at him, here's what it is, "Lord, we have seined all night and taken nothing. Nevertheless, at Thy Word, I'm going to let down the net." There you are. It's taking God at His Word, not what you feel or taste or--or what this says or that says. It's taking God at His Word. "At Thy Word, Lord, I'm going to let down the net. I don't know how they're going to be there, but If You..." If there wasn't any there and Peter let down the net with faith, believing that God would fulfill His Word, faith will put some there. And it did do it. It did do it. Fish was there.

 

* GOD HAS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR HIS WORD. IT'S ETERNAL AND FOREVER. GOD HAS NOTHING TO SUBSTITUTE FAITH.

ENTICING.SPIRITS_  JEFF.IN  DE 79-112  SUNDAY_  55-0724

  70    ...So many people are listening to enticing spirits and instead of taking the Word of God. Spirits, they're in the world. They're demons, and they go out into places, and they get amongst men: ministers. They get amongst church members; they get amongst good people; and they cause them to come into a illusion; and they say things, and do things, and teach things, and practice things that's contrary to the Word of God. Today ministers, other congregations are allowing their people to play cards in the churches, many of them. Now, that's not altogether Catholics; there's a lot of Protestants does that.

What they try to do is substitutionary something. They try to adopt some new plan. They try to adopt education to take the place of the Holy Ghost. You'll never be able to do it. No matter how well your man is educated... I think it's a good thing for him to be educated, but if he hasn't got the Holy Spirit with that, his education will do him no good. Education will never take the place of the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

 

*YOU GOT TO GET THE MAN RIGHT IN HIS HEART FIRST, BEFORE HE CAN BELIEVE.

10 You got to get the man right in his heart first, before he can believe. He ain’t got nothing to believe on. He ain’t got nothing to believe with. I’m sure the little, infant brain of a man knows nothing about belief. He’s got to have something in there stimulates his faith and makes him look yonder to his Creator, and believes the very God that “Phew!” blowed the moon and stars off of His hand can do all things. This world was made by faith. God spoke the world into existence. This very world that we’re setting on right tonight, is nothing else but the Word of God materialized. If it didn’t, where did He get the material to make it out of?

   35   Our bodies are groaning, and we have an inheritance, and we’re children now, heirs of the Kingdom, oh, my, kings and priests unto God, offering spiritual sacrifices.

What does a priest do? Make a sacrifice (What is a sac-…?), a spiritual sacrifice. You can't say, "Well, now, I belong to this... the Assemblies, I belong to the Foursquare, or the Church of God, or the Jesus' Name," or--or any of the rest of them. No you can't get in on any of them. God calls you as an individual. And it's you that's got to clean up, because He's taking a people from the Gentiles for His Name's sake, His bride, the Gentiles.

Esther cleaned herself. She cleaned her heart. That's what she cleaned. That's what the church needs: a heart cleaning." How do you clean your heart, Brother Branham?" Washed by the water of the Word, through the Blood of Jesus Christ.

  E-84    The Bible said it's wrong for women to act that way, and for men to let them do it. That's both of you. A man that'll let his woman get out in the street with naked--with clothes on like that, I've got little respects for him being even a man. He's a puppet. That's right. She uses him as a dishrag. Shame on you. You ought to be men.

And a pastor will let his church get by with such things as that without blasting the tar out of it from the pulpit, he's a sissy. What we need is men. The Gospel--not with rubber gloves, but with the power and demonstration of the Holy Ghost with the Word... The Bible says these things are wrong. It's wrong for people to do that way, to act that way. It ought to be preached, and lived, and everywhere. Ought to... The church needs a purging, a cleaning out.

  E-85    Esther purged her heart before God, walked up with a meek and humble spirit; the church that's going to be the bride of Christ... Now, remember, Esther refused the worldly adornment. She took the Spirit in her heart to go before the king.

And the woman today, the church that thinks she's going to get in because she's got more numbers, she's the best dressed crowd, she's got the biggest organization, the biggest church in the city, and things like that... You'll miss it a million miles if you're depending on that.

It's a sweet, kind, reverent spirit to the Word of God, washed by the water of the Word. And the Word in you, it's a washing. Amen. The church needs a washing, a full Gospel washing (That's right.), not just a part washing, but a full Gospel washing, cleaned up, made new creatures in Christ Jesus.

  E-86    Jesus' bride is not a dirty bride. He wouldn't have His dirty bride. A woman come up to get married, and she looked like she come out of the pig pen out there, a man that's got any dignity about him wouldn't marry her. He'd make her clean herself up. And when the church of Christ comes up to get married, thinks she's going in the bride with all the world tagging onto her... Christ's bride won't be like that. No, sir. (I must hurry.)

Neither is the church of Christ, of the Lord Jesus Christ, that church is not a ragged church either, with worn out rags of denominations. She don't have to be a--a member of some great denomination. She has to be Blood-washed, Blood-bought. Not saying we belong to the biggest church, the biggest organization, or this, that, or the other; she's got to be pure, sanctified, holy, without spot or wrinkle, by the Blood of her--her Saviour, Jesus Christ.

I've always said the world shines; the Gospel glows. Oh, it's a million miles apart. Hollywood shines; the church of Christ glows with loveliness, and soft, and sweet, kind. That's right.

  E-64    There's a revival going on. What is it? A sowing. You don't hear very much of Billy Graham no more, do you? What about Oral? What about the rest of them? You know the great revival fire's not burning. What is it? It's the end time seed sign. The words has been sown. What is it? Denomination will reap denomination. That makes them confederate themselves together.

But the Word of God has been sowed also. And when the Spirit of God begins to fall, the Word of God will live in the people. And that false bride that's committed adultery out there, and brought herself into creeds, and sold out her birthrights will reap what? A confederation of church, that's to be bound and burned like the thorns and thistles. But where the Word of God's been sowed into the people's heart, it will reap a Bride for Christ as certain as I'm standing here: End time signs.

They've been talking so much about latter rain. Not discarding you latter rain brethren, but that's not latter rain. If the latter rain would've been here, the power of God would've struck that thing, and she'd have swept the world. The latter rain's fixing to come. What's the matter? The church is manufacturing herself something just like Eve tried to do. She tried to have more light to manufacture something.

We've done the same thing, trying to make something in ourselves. Keep your hand off of it. Let God do it. Take His Word and believe It. Hold It in your heart. And when the rain begins to fall life will take hold, and the Word will manifest itself.

Let the Master Builder of mankind, Who made man in His own image, Who is building Him a Bride for the same thing, let His bow stroke of the Holy Ghost strike this Word in your heart one time, and it'll be our best example. No matter how many big churches you go to, and how many names is on the book, it'll do more for Jesus Christ than all the churches, and denominations, and creeds, and world churches, and organizations, in all the world.

Oh, church-joining, and creeds, and denominations, and dogmas, all has to be cut away from the Church; their formal ideas, their indifference, their doctrines and things. Come back and let the Master pick up the bow. Let the Master pick you up in His hands, strike the Word, say, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

187    Say, "Amen, Lord. Make me, mold me, make me, Lord, what I should be." Then there'll be a different thing.

188    Then, "If I be lifted up from the earth, I'll draw all men unto Me." Yes, sir.

189    He is cutting you out now, cutting you down to His Word only, cutting all the creeds and dogmas and everything, away from you, trying to get back to a Bride for the Son, another masterpiece, part of the Word. The Word!

They were going along in the darkest hour that they had ever seen. All their hopes was gone. They'd been put out of the church, the synagogues, because they believed on Him. And now He, Who they had trusted in, was dead. And some women had come around with a little story about some vision, they'd seen some Angels, "tell His disciples He'd meet them in Galilee." But, oh, he just... They couldn't believe that. They were brokenhearted and sad, crying. And there the lovely Jesus appears among the brokenhearted.

  130    Another thing, it was the first Easter morning. Jesus, the resurrection of all life, was alive and amongst the springtime, amongst the whistling of the birds, amongst the bringing forth of the new flowers. The resurrected Jesus was in the springtime, also, coming forth of the--the resurrection.

How that He walked along there with them, and begin to talk with them, telling them. Said, "Well, now, you ought to believe what the prophets said. You ought to believe what all the Scriptures that's been written concerning Christ: how He must suffer, and raise again on the third day, and so forth." Well, they were too brokenhearted.
