Luk 2:26  And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. 

Psa 62:5  My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. 

Psa 62:6  He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. 

Psa 62:7  In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Billy was telling, I believe, of some couple that he had met that's got a Assembly of God's school, out here. My son went to Waxahachie, Assembly of God's school in Texas, Waxahachie, Texas. And they were...

This girl said many years ago, the woman, the boy's wife, minister, that when she was such a little girl, just a little, tiny tot, that they brought her to Pensacola (I believe it was) where we was having a meeting. And I prayed till I couldn't stand no longer. Many times I'd get so weary. The visions would leave, and I--I'd just have to stand and the ministers would lift my hand and lay it on the people as they passed by.

E-9    And she said she had so many ulcers. So it was thought that she couldn't live. And her mother brought her by, took her hand and laid it over on my hand. Went by, the ulcers left, and she's in just perfect health.

See, it wasn't my hand that done it. That had nothing to do with it. It was the mother's faith, her faith in God.

Jesus said, "It isn't I that doeth the works; it's the Father dwelleth in Me. He doeth the work."

And you'll only get from God the things that you're expecting from God in the way you approach God. You approach Him with reverence, with faith, and every Word is true.

BE UNDER EXPECTATION.

318      Now notice. All was ready. Everything had been kindled and made ready. And everybody was standing out. I had my head sticking up; my arm around my wife. We was looking. And children standing there, all of us looking up, like that. My! It was something, 'cause we was expecting it. It was promised to us.

319    Amen! The Word promises This. "It shall come to pass, before the great and terrible day of the Lord shall come, behold, I will send unto you Elijah the prophet. He shall turn the hearts of the children back to the fathers."...?... "It shall come to pass in the last days, I'll pour out My Spirit from on High." "The former and latter rain shall come together in the last day." All these promises, through the Scriptures, been given. We're looking upward. Watch at the true Bride across the nation this hour, looking up. Church, He is coming, one of these days. Just as sure as He come the first time, He is coming again. Get everything ready. Separate yourself from shuck. Lay before the Son. Keep looking up. Be under expectation.

57      It's the same thing today. It doesn't come in the taste of our theological taste. But It comes in the way of the power of the demonstration of the manifestation of God's promise for the age. Exactly. But, yet, as it was then, they refuse It. They refused It then. They refused It today, because It doesn't meet the expectation of the day according to the way that people expect It.

  58      God has an expectation. God knows what's going to happen, because He's infinite, so there's nothing going wrong. It's all going just exactly right, because He's infinite. And He can foretell the end from the beginning, because He's God. Don't think Satan is putting anything over on Him. Oh, no. Oh, no. It's just all working out to display His attributes, is all. How could a great infinite God, Who knowed everything, and let everything... It's just the attributes of God being displayed.

And you're displaying your life, to one side or the other.

59    And that's the reason our systems come in, and they can accept anything, is of the way of system, is just because that they get away from the original created way that God made for them to do it. His way of--of sending things sometimes don't meet our taste. Wonder, today, if God answered our cry for our Messiah that we cry today for, I wonder if we would do the same thing that they did back there.

  60      Now, we're all looking for something. We know that, ever. Everyone is looking for something. I was listening, this crowd. I listen to businessmen. I go to the ministers. I go to the different denominations. Everybody is expecting something. The nation, hearing political talks, they're looking for something to come forth. What is it? I hear it in the Christian businessmen. I hear it in the conventions. "Oh, the great time a coming! The great time a coming!" Now, you just remember, it'll come in an altogether different way than you think it's coming. See? It won't be that at all, what you're thinking about. It never has been. See?

  61      And our political world, today, and our religious world, is just exactly like it was in the days of the first coming of the Messiah. It's polluted. The whole system is rotten. Our politics, it could get no worse. And our religion, I don't see how it could get any worse than what it is now. The whole thing is corrupted; our political world, man-made systems, and--and fashions. We just...

62    We want everything just, everything, so we can take it easy, and retire, and take life easy. Life wasn't intended to be easy. Life is a struggle. Anything that's got life is a struggling. Look at the trees, how they struggle. Look at everything that's got life; it's a struggle. And when we try to get some kind of a system that takes it easy, then we're wrong. And we know there's something wrong.

  63      I listened, today, of our--our television and--and programs, and our papers, and all these things that's going on, and everybody is telling a joke. Trying to get... American is built upon a bunch of laughter, some kind of a joke, like Ernie Ford and all those television stars. To make all... And our movies is so corrupt, it's just could not be any more corrupt. That's all.

64    It puts me in the mind of a little boy going through a graveyard, whistling, trying to make hisself think he's not afraid. But that's the reason he's whistling. See? He's afraid. And that's what's the matter. You're trying, the world today, is trying to laugh it off. America is a joke and know that our number is up. She is weighed in the balance and found wanting. If God Almighty doesn't tear this nation to pieces, He'll be--He'll be obligated to Sodom and Gomorrah, to raise her up and apologize for His burning her up. Right. We are doomed. The whole world is doomed. She's falling apart, and there's no way of saving it. She's done sinned away her day of grace.

I'M SEEING CHRIST REFLECTED IN THAT PERSON, BECAUSE HE'S HUNGERING AND THIRSTING FOR GOD.

E-51    No matter... We don't have to have big audiences. We don't have to preach to ten thousand. We don't have to even preach. We can be God's advertisement board. How do you know that your life might not start some young man on the Gospel, some of you older men, you old women, start them young men on the field out there to win ten thousand souls to Christ. It was because that he saw Christ in you. It's you presented Christ to him in the simple power of the Gospel.

Yes, I think we need a--a Christ. Yes, sir. Only way we see Christ is when He reflects in each other. I see Christ in you. You see Him in me. That's how we watch Christ. I come to the meeting. I start preaching. I watch the people. You can see whether they're interested or not, just a few minutes. You look over the audience. You can tell who you're boring or whether you're not. See?

  E-52    And the first thing you know, you see them standing there hanging on to every word, under expectation. See? I'm seeing Christ reflected in that person, because he's hungering and thirsting for God. And then me preaching the Gospel, he sees the Christ reflecting in me. I see Christ reflecting in him. That means Christ is in our midst then. Amen. Hungering and thirsting...

I watch the audience, how they take it, say something another, watch what--what effect it takes on them, watch their face light up, full of joy. They're ready right then to receive something. That's Christ. I see Christ reflecting in that person, because the Gospel, the simple Gospel of Christ is taking a hold in that heart, because they're hungering and thirsting.

  E-53    And I show the billboard here, an advertisement. What kind of an advertisement? Not to some theology, not to some man-made creed, but to a Christ that...?... that...?... got to...?... more power, when He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. Amen. That's right.

They see that power of God move, watching over the buildings and see it pick out the people, discern their hearts, heal the sick, or reveal the secrets of their heart, unstop the deaf ears and make the blind see...?... it's appealing. It's Christ's signboard. And the people see it, and they rally, and they praise God. I watch it in them when they're praising God. They watch it out here when it goes this way; so through each other we see Christ reflect His Life.

  E-54    Now, no matter how much I could reflect it here, unless it reflects on you too, we'll never understand it; the Gospel would be of none effect, unless somebody was there to take it. There'll be many who won't take it. But the ones that will take it, it'll reflect in them.

There's maybe five thousand that morning at the execution of Stephen. But there was one it reflected in. Even at the end of his life, he said, "I'm not even worthy to be called one of the saints." He said, "Because I've persecuted the Church of God even to death." Give consent to the stoning of--of that martyr Stephen... It never did get away from Paul. He said, "I persecuted the Church even to death."

  E-55    See? It never got away from him, because he seen Christ reflected. How did Stephen do it? He never performed any miracles, although he knowed that Christ was a miracle performer. He knowed all these powers and things. But what did he do? He just presented his life in such a way, that they seen that it was the power of Christ. Amen.

You may never see a vision. You may never put your hands on the sick person and feel the charge of Almighty God make a skeleton of a man turn back to life again. You may never see Him standing over yonder in three or four rainbows. You may never see His image. You may never hear His voice. But still you can be a signboard, manifest Jesus Christ by a life that's been so pure, unadulterated from the world, not worrying about the dirty things around your life, but a pure thing that'll...?... cause God is in your heart to hunger and thirst to be like Him. Amen.

2Ti 4:4  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 
2Ti 4:5  But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
