15 …..But looking back on my life,
and I wonder where it happened. From them first little Christmases, when we
hang up our stockings, and Mama would get... We'd probably get an orange, and
two or three little pieces of striped candy, and that was a great Christmas to
us. But, you know, kids they--they look forward for them gifts. We--we find out
that--that Christmas is to the... is mainly children, they--they look forward
to that nowadays. It it's turned off to the children. But it really should be
adults; it should be teaching their children what real Christmas is.

totally do not believe that--that Christ could be born on a twenty-fifth day of
December, in Judaea, because it's colder than it is right here now. See?
Oh, and how could the shepherds be keeping their flocks by night? And--and then
the taxation and everything, and Mary having to come that far, from way down in
Bethlehem up into Judaea, up into Jerusalem, rather, at the... for the
taxation. I--I--I hardly could--could--could believe that. Come up, I believe
she come to Nazareth, and so when... How that--that could be done. It could not be--be
done, but I believe that Christ was born in a spring, because in every way He
was a Lamb. See? And notice, He was born in a barn,
and not a house.
17 And when they took Him to the cross (the others), as far as we know, that he never said about Him leading them, but they led Him. Did you know a lamb or a sheep has to be led to the slaughter? It--it will not go to the slaughter, you--you have to lead it there. And usually it's a goat that leads the sheep. In the--in the killing pens, they have a goat. And the goat will walk up this runway, till he gets up to get the sheep started down the runway to be killed, and then the goat will jump out. But when they come a time they going to kill the goat, he really kicks up a fuss (he has to go in) because you couldn't blame him. But--but it's a--a thing how a sheep has to be led, and He was led to the slaughter. They led Him. He was a Lamb. And I believe in that way being altogether nature, and lambs are born in March, April, and somewhere along in there, not later than May. And I don't believe it was anything before March and anything after May, sometime along in there.

9 And the fact of all the error
and everything there is about it, there's something about it that the world
tries to make it an Xmas, you know. And but God's still got a Christmas in it
somewhere, hasn't He? He sure has. He's got something about it, just the very
names, and the thoughts of the birth of the Lord Jesus. Oh, the world's put
Santa Claus in His place, sure, but not to the Christian. It's still a
Christmas.
Now, the Christmas is not a Protestant holiday. It's a Catholic day. The 25th of December was months and months before our... after... or before our Lord was born. Our Lord was born in April. But He wasn't born in December. If you've been in Judaea in December it's colder than this, so--so you know He wasn't born in December. And it's spelled, it's C-h-r-i-s-t-m-a-s, a mass for Christ. It's the Christ-mass.

Here a few weeks, or even right
now, there's reindeers, and Santa Clauses, and--and jingle bells, and all kinds
of things hanging up, which is pagan ceremony. It's an article of the Catholic
church. People paying great prices and swapping presents and things like that,
pagan. Christmas is a day of worship.

127 And by the way, Christ wasn't born on the twenty-fifth day of December
either. He couldn't have been. If you'd ever been in Judaea, the hills are full
of snow, worse than it is here: He born in April when all nature comes forth.
Now, but it's a tradition. And why--why do we do those things? Because we follow the traditions of men instead of the commandments of God. Then something like that wouldn't matter, but they just make a commercial day out of it. It's a disgrace, a shame for them to do such things as that. A pagan ceremony: when did Santa Claus have anything to do with Jesus? When did the Easter rabbit or a chicken, or colored up with some kind of ink or something, or some kind of little white rabbit have anything to do with the resurrection of Jesus Christ? Don't you see how the commercial world...

little kiddies, you can't tell them no different. They just... It's Christmas
time for them, and they wouldn't have their little sock hung up, there would
be something... It's a tradition, even in our nation, that they hang up a sock
and something another. Why, I did when I was a kid. And--and although
it's as far off the Scripture beaten path as it is, yet kids are... They hear
the other kids say, "Well, I got this for Christmas; I got this." The
little fellows stand around and look, you know. You--you can't make them
understand. See?

1-3 So just... Christmas is here to stay, and it isn't the birthday of
our Lord, the time He was born. Now, if you'll get on your--on the
globe and look, Judaea is just as about as far under the equator as this is
above it. So we find out in Judaea, in them mountains up there, that there's
snow, my, it's--more snow than there is here. So the shepherds could not be
at--on the mountain at that time herding their sheep.
And another thing, He... It'd be contrary to all
nature. See? Lambs and so forth are spring born, not this time
of year. Lambs are not born now; the--the ewes don't lamb now.
And He was the Lamb of God (You see?), so there--He was born along in (they
claim), along in April sometime, middle of April, or something like that.

1-5 But this being the 25th
of December, why, making it the birthday, this is the sun god's birthday
(See?), the Roman Baalim, the sun god. See? And the sun is just exactly
halfway around now. And from the 20th unto the 25th was when the Roman circus
was in celebration of the sun god's birthday. And the... So they said, "Well now, to
please the--both Christian and pagan, we'll make instead of sun god, the Son of
God and the sun god together. So we'll put it all together and make it the same
birthday and make it on the 25th."
So it seemed to please the pagan
and the nominal church then, or the first church of Rome was just... It was
just all right with them, so they didn't care. So they made it both sun god and Son of God's
birthday.

solar system the sun is just bouncing over, coming back. Now, they'll start
getting just a few seconds or minutes longer, and then sometime up in June or
July we have the longest day in the year.
So... But Christmas is here to
stay, so we're... We can't help it. Tubeless tires are here to stay.
I hate them, but they're--they're here to stay. That's right.
Undressed women, they're here to stay. Shorts, they're going to stay. That's all. They're going to get shorter all the time, so ain't nothing I can do about. I can just say it's wrong and stay with it. That's right.

2-6 Now, I do not believe... Let me make this clear.
I do not believe that Jesus would care what day you worshipped His birthday on (if
it's the 25th, 26th, or whether it's April, May, June, July, or whenever it
might be), just so you worship--you worship Him on any day.
But here's what it is. They have
taken the sacredness from Christmas to make it not a Christmas, but--a worship
day, but a celebration. See? We do not... You hear people say, "We're going to
celebrate Christmas." That's wrong. We should never celebrate Christmas.
Christmas is a day of worship, not a celebration.

2-8 We celebrate Lincoln's birthday; we celebrate Washington's birthday.

Christ, I believe, should be a day of consecration, worship. Instead
of tonight, of people at church on their knees, praying, thanking God for the
real Christmas Gift... High heeled shoes, and painted faces, and frock-tailed
coats, and goblets of whiskey will be tipped one to another; and tens of
thousands times thousands of dollars worth of whiskey, and cigars, and
cigarettes will be distributed tonight, when thousands of poor, little, hungry
children lay without a bite to eat or a place to lay their head.

3-1 Worship--what we need, celebration's
what we've got. Well, that's all right. That--they--it isn't all right, but we can't stop
it; it's here to stay. We--we're going to have Christmas right
on just the same.
And the word
"Christmas," Christmas come from the word of "mass for Christ,
Christ's mass--C-h-r-i-s-t-m-a-s (See?), Christ's mass." It's a Catholic
tradition.

It's absolutely a Catholic tradition, not anything to do with Protestants or anything about it (See?), or Christmas, or the birth of Christ: not at all. But Santa's here to stay. But someday Jesus will come to stay; that's the One we're looking for.

Now, we have just passed two of the major holidays, that
we know here in America to be the Christmas time and the New Year's.
It's actually not a Christmas. It's a day that we set aside, 'course we realize
it isn't the Lord's birthday. He couldn't have been born on December the 25th,
because it's--it's so cold up there shepherds could not have been on the hill,
and so forth. And if you was ever in Judaea along that time of year, you'd know
it wasn't--it wasn't in the wintertime. But it's thought that it was perhaps along in
April or May, when lambs are born. And like He come by all nature, just like
the regular lambs are born; He was the Lamb of God, and He was born along that
time. But I don't suppose that He cares what day we set aside,
because the actual day is lost. But it's in commemoration of His birthday.
And instead of we making it a commemoration, and a day of worship to God for His sending His Son to us, we have a celebration. See? We celebrate Christmas. And it is not a celebration. You could celebrate Washington's birthday, or Lincoln's birthday; or some other great man's birthday you might celebrate it. But Christmas should be a day of worship. But we have twisted it around and have made it one of the greatest commercial days. It's all fixed up on passing presents one to another, and having feelings hurt if we don't do it, and pay them back. And it's just twisted all up.

But when the church, Christianity, was married into
Romanism, was at the Nicaea Council, when they accepted... the Roman nation
accepted Christianity and made what they called the universal religion, was
Christianity. They made the universal religion, and they worshipped idols, and
they had a sun-god.
19 And right now, from the--from the twenty-first to the twenty-fifth, the sun almost stands in its same track as it's passing. What is it you call that? Been a... I thought I knew it, but I can't think of it. When the sun's--is... it--it gains so much time and loses so much time, until the twenty-first, between twenty-first and twenty-fifth of December. Oh, I forget what they call it. What? [Someone in congregation says "Eclipse?"--Ed.] No, the eclipse is when it passes, the sun and moon passes together. It's something in there, oh, I--I--I can almost say it but can't right now. However, it's that standstill of the sun which is called by the Romans (that's when the circus went on), it was called the sun-god's birthday. They celebrated it from the twenty-first to the twenty-fifth of December.

So then, being that this was converted, Rome into...
Christianity was accepted, in their way in Rome, then they said, "We'll
make the same celebration, and make Son of God's birthday." See? The
sun-god, Jupiter's birthday, then Son of God's birthday, twenty-fifth of
December, and that...
21 But what difference does it make?
See, today when we are... Even if it's a... if they was doing it in July or August,
or whenever it might be, it's still the sacredness of remembering that
"God gave us the hope that we have in us."
22 And now, you say, "Well, the rest of
them's all Santa Claus and going on like they do; why, we just might as well do
it." No, sir! No, this is not a pagan celebration to us, this is a
sacred hour. If there had been no Christmas, there would been no resurrection.
If there been no Christmas: there'd been no love, there'd been no peace,
there'd been no hereafter for the believer; if there'd been no Christmas.

23 And now, you say, "Well, if the rest of the world, they just..." Well, see, the forked lightning in the black, cloudy skies, show that there can be light in the time of darkness. These lights tonight prove that, that there can be light in the time of darkness. And when does light shine its best? In darkness. You turn these lights on in daytime, the sun is shining in, you'll hardly notice they're on. But just one little, wee light will shine real bright in a time of darkness. And right now is the darkness when every Christian should give a testimony of the hope that's in him, of Jesus Christ the Son of God; not some Kriss Kringle that was born back yonder, you know, and some kind of a tree lit up and went down through the forest one night, some fiction story that there's no bottom to it. But we believe solidly on the promised Word of God of a coming Messiah, and He was borned on Christmas day, twenty... pretty near two thousand years ago, we believe.

E-21 We have been cleansed by the
Blood of Jesus, and I do believe in pure, absolutely Holy Ghost religion and holiness. I believe that a man cleaned up from a life of sin,
quits all of his drinking, lying, stealing, and everything else. I believe he lives for
God, because the Spirit in him is God's Spirit. And that Spirit leads him and
guides him into righteousness and holiness, that God could live in him, and
will His--do His will in him.
Now, there'd only one difference
then would keep Jesus from being the same that walked on Galilee, as to be here
with us tonight in each one of us... Now remember, the Jesus I'm talking about
is the third Person, which is the Holy Spirit, which is in us, God in us.
E-22 When the Son of God... God once lived in a Pillar of Fire, led the children of Israel, then He came down and lived in a Man, His own Son, a created body. Then He--then He was--got a little closer to us. Then He had to sacrifice that body to break that virgin born blood cell, to cleanse the church that He might live in everybody's heart that would accept that Blood for the cleansing, Paul says, so that He could come into their heart by the Holy Spirit. Then that's God working in us.

And she says it's a virgin born."
She didn't pay any attention; she
knowed her little Treasure in her arm. She knew in her heart Who that Baby belonged to.
She knowed that was God's Son. No matter how many laughed and said,
"Don't--don't get with her. The people see you associating with her then
they'll class you one of them."
That's the way it is today. I'm
afraid that's what's getting the matter with our Pentecostal churches. You
don't want to be one of them any more. You don't want that old fashion
experience of the baptism of... [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.]... fashion too.
That's exactly right.
E-55 Now, she walked along, in her heart she knowed Who that Baby belonged to. Let them say what they want to; she knowed Who the Baby belonged to. And so do you know where that experience comes from. That Baby of Christ that's born in your heart, you're not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul said, "I'm not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for it's the power of God unto salvation." I like that, yes, sir. When he was standing talking to Festus that day, or Felix, I believe it was, he said...

bit, and I--and I thought there that... going to the horse. And the wind
blowed. And when the wind blowed, the most hideous sound went,

somebody trying... I'll say, "Are you a Christian?"
"I'm a
Presbyterian."
"I'm a
Baptist."
"I'm a Methodist." You know what it is? It's
you trying to hold on and get to heaven by belonging to an organization. Now,
that organization is all right. But remember, every
time that an organization springs up, God leaves it.
You don't go to heaven by an organization. You go to heaven by this new Seed of God being born in your heart. That's right.

30-6 As Jesus said, "Whenever you accept this
Word, this Word will be made manifested in you. It'll do the same thing that It

Oh, they say,
"The days of miracles is past."
And the Bible said, "Jesus the same yesterday,
today, and forever." How you going to make that meet, when Jesus said,
"He that believeth on Me anywhere any time..." Mark 16 said, "Go
ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." How long?
To all the world. Has never even got there yet. Every creature... "He that
believeth and is baptized shall be saved. He that believeth not shall be
damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe..." There you are.
The Word will be made Light. It'll shine Itself forth.
31-1 Not if you go to the cradle and
say, "A little baby was born here long years ago." Nonsense. All
kinds of creeds and fables told about it; we know Jesus knowed all that thing
would perish and get all mixed up. But there's one thing isn't mixed up; that's
the Holy Spirit.
31-2 Oh, one of them say, "He was borned right here. We got a church
built over it."
Other one said, "He was borned over here."
Like... You know how many nails they got, can prove it,
original nails that was in the cross? Nineteen. Each fellow holding a nail...
"This, we got it; Hallelujah, we got it." They just
got some dead bones of some... "We got it. We got it. This is the place He
was born in."
Other say, "This is the place He was born in."
They say, "This is the place He was born." What difference does it make? Here's where He was born, in the heart. Amen. When I died, He was borned again--I was borned again in Him new. And that's it. Sirs, we would see Jesus. All right.

me. I can't believe nothing but God's Word, and I want It to
be my life, everything that I am. I want you to do the same. Let your walks, your
talks, your moves, everything you do, be in the Word of God. Let the mind of
Christ come into you, and--and that'll pregnate you with the Word. If
you don't--if you let the mind of the denomination come in, you'll be
denominational pregnated. If you let the mind of Christ come into you, He can't
deny His own Word, 'cause He's God. You'll be pregnated with the Word and believe It. I
don't care if they put you out, kick you out, run you out, and every door is
closed, you'll go just the same. Amen. (Whew.) I got to hurry now.
98-1 My, Christ is now taking Himself a Bride to be pregnated with His own Seed Word in Her womb (spirit womb) and in Her mind, and won't mix with any denominational trash with it. She is a virgin to Him.

E-70 Life is like a leaf hanging on a tree. After while the life leaves the
leaf, and goes back to its roots. The leaf drops off. That life is buried in
the roots till the winter's passed. In springtime it brings back another life,
another leaf.
That's the way of a Christian that's on the tree of life.
This old hull here might drop off. That is true. But the life goes back to the
God Who gave it. See? If God give you your life, you're
borned again, there's only one life that can ever live, and that's God's Life
in you. And if that life is in you, then it will only go to where it come from,
back to God, to come back in that great millennium with a new leaf, or
new life, or new--or new body that will never fade and fall away.
E-71 Our seasons denote that God is with us, that God is here. He commanded
nature. And now, if you have never received that life, and if that little leaf
would drop off tonight, this little leaf that you are here on earth, you know
it would never raise again. If you're not born again
and haven't received the ensign in your heart, the evidence, the Holy Spirit,
not just imaginary... You can't imagine it.
I spoke somewhere the other night, and said, "What if
the disciples had waited nine days, and said, 'We'll accept it by faith that we
got the Holy Ghost,' and go on?" They wouldn't have had it. See? They
stayed there until they knew it was there. Something had happened, something
that they could put their hands on and say, "This is it"; just like
Noah could say, "This is it"; just like Moses could say with his
stick in his hand, "This is it."
"How you going to conquer, Moses?"
"With this stick I'll conquer. That's how I'll do
it."
By Jesus Christ, by the Holy Ghost, I have conquered, I have...'cause He conquered for me. And now my life is dead, and hid in Him, and sealed by the Holy Ghost. It's there. If you haven't that experience tonight, sinner friend, would you come while we bow our heads just a moment?

169 I've been a missionary, many times around the world. I find, I go into
Germany, I find a German spirit. I go into Finland, there is a different
spirit. I go into Australia, there is another spirit. I come to America, there
is another spirit. It's a national spirit, and all of them are of the Devil.
Jesus said so. The kingdoms of this world is the Devil's. He controls every one
of them. Now, Jesus said so. "So, you see, it's that national
spirit."
171 I said, "No, not this
drunken, brawling, disgraceful group. No, sir. We are born of a Heavenly
Spirit. We come from where pure,
unadulterated holiness, where Angels and righteousness is before God." I
said, "We live here as a nation, sure. That's right. This is our nation,
what we're here, trying. But our, 'Thy Kingdom come. Thine will be done in
earth, as it is in Heaven.'"
172 Therefore, when we are born of Above, and all the sin is moved plumb from across the chasm, it's the Spirit of God that comes in, the Creator, into our heart, and He conducts our character. We don't lie, steal, cheat. Honest, upright, walk like citizens of Heaven, for we are that if we are born of the Spirit of God.

159 Look at Jesus. Talk about us humbling ourselves? When God Himself became a baby, instead of coming in a--a little
crib somewhere in a decent home, was born out there over a manure pile in a
stable, amongst bawling calves. They wrapped Him in swaddling clothes,
was off the neck of a yoke of an ox. The poorest of the
poorest, and, yet, the Creator of heavens and earth.
160 One cold, rainy night, they said, "Master, we'll go home with
You."
161 He said, "The foxes has holes, and the
birds has nests, but I don't even have a place to lay My head."
God, Jehovah, humbled Himself and become a Man;
represented in sinful flesh, to redeem you and me. Who are we then? He was our example. Who am I? Nothing.
162 I was telling someone, this afternoon, in a little meeting. I said, "Every son that's born of God has to be tried, first, chastened." I remember when I had mine, or my greatest hour. When a--when a man is born again, there's a little spot, like size of his fingernail, that God injects into him, system, and it falls into his heart and there anchors. Then Satan makes him prove it. And if that ain't there, you're gone.

177 Now there is many here tonight. Some of them raised their hands,
Father, that they never have been a Christian, and they want to become one.
God, just don't let them be one of these, just run and join church, or take
some form, or creed, or baptism. But let it be born in
their heart, Christ.

179 And, Father, many here tonight, no doubt, is in that same state. If
they can just see something real! And You told us when You were here in the
world, that what would take place in this day. We're told that You're the same
yesterday, today, and forever. And we know how You was identified, and how the
Pharisees failed to see it. Lord, the same groups today are failing to see it,
by belonging to church, joining, having certain forms of creeds, and so forth. They, they fail to see the Messiah, the great Holy Spirit
identifying Himself with the people, as you promised You would.

180 Grant, tonight, Lord, that each
one of these will realize and will see Your Presence. And
may it come into their heart, the text, "A greater than Solomon is here
tonight," that's Jesus Christ, the resurrected Son of God, ready to come
and to convert, and to make hearts new, and to put in them a born experience of
God. Just like that mother doe, something that she had nothing to do
with, by the grace of God she was chosen to be a deer, she was chosen to be a
mother, and a loyal mother. And You told us we were "chosen before the
foundation of the world."
Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Col 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
