23-0320P_HE SWORE BY HIMSELF PT-6
Heb 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
Heb 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
Heb 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Heb 6:13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
Heb 6:14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
Heb 6:15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
Heb 6:16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
Heb 6:17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
Heb 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
Heb 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
Isa 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
Isa 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
Isa 45:24 Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.
Isa 45:25 In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.
Php 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Php 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Php 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
Php 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Php 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
Php 2:17 Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.
Php 2:18 For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.
*EVERY PROMISE THAT HE MADE, IS TRUE. YOU CANNOT BELIEVE UNTIL SOMETHING
IS WITHIN YOU, TO MAKE YOU BELIEVE.
HIS.UNFAILING.WORDS.OF.PROMISE_ PHOENIX.AZ V-15 N-3 MONDAY_ 64-0120
11 And I truly believe that every Word of God, every promise that He made,
is true.
12 And it's to anybody who will accept it. And now there is some who try
to accept it, and cannot. There is others who can accept it. And some get it
without half trying. Now, that, we have to preach the Gospel that "healing
is to all," yet we know it's not. It is to all if they can receive it, but
we know that they all cannot receive it. I just want to be as honest with you
as I know how to be.
13 We have to preach salvation the
same way, that "salvation is for all," but we know that all cannot
receive It. All man cannot see these things. Jesus said, "Blessed are your
eyes that can see, your understanding, for there is many that cannot understand
It."
14 And Divine healing is for people who believe. But, you
cannot believe until Something is within you, to make you believe.

*HE ROSE FOR OUR JUSTIFICATION.
HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-11 SUNDAY_ 54-1212
64 And God was not willing that He
should stay there, but rose Him up on the third day for our justification. To
look there, and say, "I am... God has absolutely
proved me, that I am justified, because He raised up His Son, Christ Jesus. Therefore,
I'm resurrected with Him, setting in heavenly places." That's right.
Settles it. See? He justified. He rose for our
justification.
Living, He loved me;
Dying, He saved me;
Buried, He carried my sins far away;
Rising, He justified freely forever:
Someday He's coming, O glorious day!
*THERE'S WHERE OUR HOPES REST, RIGHT
THERE.
That's it. There you
are. There's
where my hopes is built on nothing less than Jesus' Blood and righteousness;
when all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay. For on Christ, the solid Rock, I
stand; all other grounds is sinking sand, all other grounds is sinking sand.
There you are. There's where our hopes rest, right there. Oh, my. Oh, when I think of it, and think of there... And Jesus said, "As Moses lifted up the serpent," same purpose, same thing. "Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up."
IT'S WHAT GOD DID FOR YOU IN CHRIST. NOT BECAUSE YOU WAS GOOD, NOT
BECAUSE A MOTHER WAS GOOD. BUT WHAT? CHRIST WAS GOOD, AND WHAT CHRIST DID BY
CALLING YOU.
THE.CALLING.OF.ABRAHAM_ SAN.FERNANDO.CA WEDNESDAY_ 55-1116
E-39 Now, He--He is showing in a figure to Abraham what He was going to do
for all his seed after him; which out of Abraham would come Isaac, and out of Isaac
would come Christ; showing what kind of a sacrifice that he would make
through Christ. When Abraham give a pre-shadow of it, when he
went to the mountain to offer Isaac, and God spared Isaac, and didn't spare His
own Son, because Isaac was only a shadow of Christ, packing the wood, and
everything right up the same hill, as we'll get to it later on in our lesson in
a night or two.
Well, notice. What he did... Oh, it's marvelous. He kept the
birds off of it until the sun went down. Notice. Then a deep sleep fell on
Abraham. "First thing, Abraham, I'm just going to shut you off to
show you there's not one thing you can do about it. This is My covenant."
And it wasn't one thing, brother, that you could do about it.
It isn't one thing, sister, that you done about it. It's
what God did for you in Christ. Not because you was good, not because a mother
was good. But what? Christ was good, and what Christ did by calling you.
THE.CALLING.OF.ABRAHAM_ SAN.FERNANDO.CA WEDNESDAY_ 55-1116
E-40 …..Now, to the oath, God took an
oath over It. He took an oath tonight swore by Himself, that none other greater
to swear by, He swore by Himself, He'd keep His Word. Amen. He will keep His
promise. He didn't only say it, but He swore to it, that He'd do it.
E-41 "What are you trying to do, Brother Branham?" Get you to a place where you can see what
God has done for you. That's why these things take place. God has promised to
do them, and He's got to do them. In order to be God, He has to keep His
promise, brethren.
THE.CALLING.OF.ABRAHAM_ SAN.FERNANDO.CA WEDNESDAY_ 55-1116
*AFTER HE HAD ENDURED,
HE OBTAINED THE PROMISE.
HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-11 SUNDAY_ 54-1212
106 You'll have your ups-and-downs. Don't worry. You got to go through briar patches, over sharp rocks, over bluffs, down on the hillsides, up through the mountains, over waters; but walk with God. Yes, sir. "There's so many hills to climb upward," you've heard the old song, "but how little it'll seem when you get to the end of the way." My, my. Just look at there, all that's been. Look back at your footprints; won't be very much.
HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-11 SUNDAY_ 54-1212
107 After he had endured, he
obtained the promise.
Men, for when men... swear by the greater: and the oath of...
is confirmed, confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
In other words, when
men swear, if they come to you and they make an oath, it's the end of all strife;
you believe it. See?
Wherein
God--God--wherein God, willing more abundantly,... (oh,)... abundantly to shew
unto them heirs of the promise the immutable of his counsel... (oh)...
confirmed it by an oath:
God wanted to show
you. By His counsel, He wanted it. He confirmed it by an oath, that you would
not have any restless terms about it. Now, watch here.
That by two imm... things--immutable things, in which in
it is impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have
fled for refuge to the--lay hold upon the hope set before us:
It's absolutely impossible for God to lie. That's the one thing. Is that right? Now, it's impossible for God to lie. It's two of them. First, it's impossible for God to lie. Now, the next thing is that God Himself that can't lie, to make it perfect, double, He swore by it (Amen.) that He would confirm this oath. Oh, what a great...
IF GOD'S YOUR SHIELD,
HOW'S THE DEVIL GOING TO HIT YOU?
HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-11 SUNDAY_ 54-1212
110 Let's go back and see what the oath is,
will you? Just a minute, just for a minute. Back in the--in the Book of
Genesis, I was reading it here the other day, the 15th chapter of Genesis. Here we go. Listen at the oath that
God swore to, if you want to read something to make you feel real good.
After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abraham
in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abraham: I am thy shield, and... exceeding great
reward.
"I am thy Shield." If God's your Shield, how's
the devil going to hit you? See, see? "I am your Shield, and your
exceeding great Reward." Who is? "I am," the Lord, "your
exceeding great Reward."
And Abraham said, LORD GOD, what will thou give me,
seeing that I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of
Damascus?
And Abraham said... And Abram said, Behold, to me thou
has given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is my heir.
And, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying,
This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come out of thine own bowels
shall be thine heir.
God done told him twenty-five years before, that He was going to do it. So Abraham begin to wonder now, "Now, now, Lord, where... How's it going to happen now? And see, I'm a hundred years old."
HE--HE JUST BELIEVED
THE LORD, AND IT WAS COUNTED TO HIM FOR RIGHTEOUS, BECAUSE GOD SAID SO.
HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-11 SUNDAY_ 54-1212
113 Now, watch.
And He brought him forth... (Here--here it comes.)... And
he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now towards the heaven, and tell me
the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy
seed be.
And yet he didn't even have any children, and a hundred years old. Said, "Look up yonder towards the heavens. Can you number them stars?"
HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-11 SUNDAY_ 54-1212
115 And here, out in Mount Palomar,
or Mount Wilson, rather, in California, looking out there at that big
observatory, where you can take a glass and see a hundred and twenty million
years of light space... Now, you think, your eyes can only see just so many
thousand miles away (See?), maybe a couple million, a few million. But this is
a hundred and twenty million years. Just what you can see in the solar system,
just them stars. Some of them are closer, and some of them are farther away,
and so forth. But looking through a hundred and twenty million years of light
space, just think what it is, how fast light travels. And a hundred and twenty
million years of light space, why, you couldn't run a row of figures around
this church ten times, of nine's, and make how many miles it would be. And out
there, is still moons and stars on the outside of there.
HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-11 SUNDAY_ 54-1212
116 Abraham's seed, said,
"Number them." You couldn't do it. "So shall thy seed be."
And listen. Here is what did it.
And he believed in the LORD;... (oh,)... and it
was counted unto him for righteousness.
He never said, "Now, Lord, I'll tell you what I'll do. I'll do a certain-certain thing. And I'll do this, or that." He--he just believed the Lord, and it was counted to him for righteous, because God said so. He'd swore by it, that He'd do it.
HEBREWS.CHAPTER.ONE_ JEFF.IN HEB WEDNESDAY_ 57-0821
170 Now, what a great hope we have, this great Faith that we serve tonight!
The living God, the Jehovah, the Pillar of Fire, is with us. Shows Himself in
power, and action, and magnify. Let them take the Picture of Him, the same
Jehovah. The Son of God that came from God, went back
to God, and dwells in His Church forevermore. There He is.
HEBREWS.CHAPTER.ONE_ JEFF.IN HEB WEDNESDAY_ 57-0821
171 He has our names on His Book,
with a sworn oath by Himself, for there's no one greater He can swear by, that
He'll raise us up in the last day. "He that eats
My Flesh, and drinks My Blood, has everlasting Life, and I'll raise Him up at
the last day. He that cometh to Me, I will in no wise cast out. He that heareth
My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting Life, and shall
never come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto Life."
172 That same One could just reach and grab a handful of calcium and potash, go, "Whew," and there you are again. And my name is on His Book. Oh! Oh! Oh! What do I care how stooped my shoulders are getting, how old I get? Certainly not. Not a bit of worry.
195 There you are. Let the world say what they want to, and do what they
want to do. Blessed be the Name of the Lord. Keep me in
Christ, if I'm called anything... a fanatic, or holy-roller. Someday He's
coming, and those that are in Christ will God bring with Him, when He comes.
It's all a spiritual, revealed Truth laying right there, and it takes a
spiritual mind to catch It. Rest on that, through the day. Think of it.
Even if you do without your dinner, think of it.
196 And
tonight, we'll go into His Rest, that was left, and see what this promise is
today. What is this thing today? If God hasn't got It here in the Bible,
and prove It, It's right here now, then I'm a false prophet. That's exactly
right. But It's here. What is this Rest?
197 He said:
Now, let us... fear, lest, a promise being left us to enter
in just like they did,...
198 And It's got to be the same promise. It's got to be the same rest. It's
got to be the same God. It's got to be the same signs. It's got to be the same
thing. But let us rest. Now what is It? May the Lord grant it to us, tonight.
