21-0521A_All The Days Of Our Life Pt-4 (TO SERVE THE LORD IN HOLINESS & RIGHTEOUSNESS)

All The Days Of Our Life Pt-4

IT'S WONDERFUL TO SERVE THE LORD AND KNOW IT'S THUS SAITH THE LORD. TAKES ALL THE SCARECROWS OUT, AND THE SPOOKS OUT, AND PUTS THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THERE, AND LIVES WITH YOU…

E-62    I'd like to see how many of those Nazarenes that got sanctified one year, the next year was back for sanctification again. I thought He kept it; I thought you couldn't back...

Oh, brother. Some men so narrow-minded, you put a pencil between their eyes it'd blind them. That's right, so narrow- sighted... Sure. Salvation is--lasts as long as faith lasts. And Divine healing lasts as long as faith lasts. You that's got to experience, forty years ago; forget you ever had the experience, and go out of here tonight and say, "I don't even believe in it, and I'm not God's servant no more," watch how long your experience lasts. Certainly.

"When the unclean spirit's gone out of man, he walks in dry places; he comes back with seven other spirits worse than he was. He enters in by force, if the good man of the house ain't there to keep him out. "You don't go by your feelings. I never was saved by my feelings. I wasn't saved because I felt good. I'm saved because I met God's promise. That's right. The devil can beat you around the stump on feelings, but he can't speak on THUS SAITH THE LORD and condemn it. I've done what Jesus said. I'm saved tonight because I met God's requirement. I'm healed tonight.

E-63    When Mayo Brothers turned me down, for a few days more of living, about six or seven years ago... I'm healthy and strong tonight because I believe. God said so, and I took Him at His Word. That's all. It's your faith in God. The only thing that'll stagger. That's the only thing that'll ever heal a sick person, is their personal faith in God. Not what some man can do for you, it's what the Man Christ Jesus has already done for you. And you accept it and don't--you refuse to see symptoms, or anything else, and walk by faith. The just shall live by it.

Say, I feel religious. I really do. I feel like I could shout now. When a Baptist goes to shouting, it's really something isn't it? Oh, my. It's wonderful to serve the Lord and know it's THUS SAITH THE LORD. Takes all the scarecrows out, and the spooks out, and puts the Holy Spirit in there, and lives with you, with the dove of meekness and quietness, and eternal hope in your heart.Takes all the guess out, and all the hocus-pocus out, and all the formalism out of your heart, and puts a real know-so in there, and a faith that's everlasting true. Amen. That's true.

E-64    Quickly now, you're a fine audience. I could preach to you all night, but you don't want to hear me all that time. But listen, I want to show you, speak something to you.

Now, those people that eat the manna in here, out here in the courts was just the same kind of manna that was on the inside of the veil, same kind of manna. And the man and woman who lives out here are eating. That's where you get confused. Maybe, tomorrow, I'll preach on you the difference between the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and the calling of a son. See?

E-65    Notice this, how God sets in the Church and what He does. You're eating the same manna. Here was one wall of justification. No man can come to Christ unless the Holy Spirit calls him. The Holy Spirit is God, and you know it. No man can, it's the same Holy Ghost. And these people out here in the justified state, a fellow trying to serve God out here in the courts was eating the same kind of manna they were that's on the inside of the holiest of holies. But, the thing of it was, it run out. It got--it got contaminated. It got... They was all saying there's wiggletails in it.

That's what's the matter with a lot of people's experience, tonight. It's got wiggletails in it, rotten, maggots. Is because that you permitted it. There they are living out here eating the manna. Now, the man could eat here; he was--he was eat all right. But he got hungry real quick. That's the way with the people saying, "I just can't hardly hold." You're not far enough in yet. You'll come to the holy place.

Watch Aaron the high priest, when once a year anointed, went in behind the curtains, and when them curtains dropped behind him, the world was shut off.

E-66    That's what's the matter with people today. They don't want to get shut off from the world. You want to be in contact with who's going to be the next most popular girl in California, in Hollywood. And some of them married six and seven times, and you make that an example. You'll turn on your television at night to see Mary, Susie, or ever what these plays are that come on, and stay home from the prayer meeting, and when wondering why you can't hold on. You're not dead enough. Amen. You can't be two living at one time; you've got to be dead to the world and alive in God; or either you're alive to the world and dead to God. Can't serve two masters at once.

I know that's hard preaching, brother, sister. But that's what the Bible speaks. When you've let the world creep in and intellectual faith has accepted such a thing as that, and know no more about God than a rabbit knows about snow shoes. You know that's the truth. I don't say that for a joke. No, sir. But it's the truth. That's right. 'Cause you love the world...

The Bible said, "He that loves the world, or the things of the world, the love of God is not even in him." That's right.

*SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT WHEN YOU BECOME A CHRISTIAN THAT IT TAKE--JUST TAKES ALL THE JOY OUT OF LIFE. IT'S JUST VICE VERSA.

E-3    You know, when we live to serve, and to do what we can for those people, and to try to help others that maybe doesn't know the joy of living that life. Some people think that when you become a Christian that it take--just takes all the joy out of life. It's just vice versa. I--I have lived both ways.

This is thirty-one years I've been preaching, and I have... I would not trade this life if there wasn't even any heaven to go to at the end of it, if there wasn't any Jesus to see. I have more joy living this way than I--one day, than I would ten years any other way, if there wasn't nothing after. But... That's really from my heart, as your brother and God's servant. There's such a peace and a satisfaction, knowing that when you lay down, if you never wake again, what difference does it make? See? You're--you're--you're saved, that--that anchor that holds within the veil somewhere out there, something that tells us that the good's just the other side.

*I DO NOT THINK THERE IS ANYTHING ANY GREATER, THAN THAT I COULD THINK OF, THAN ETERNAL LIFE.

5      It's one of the greatest times of my life, is when I get to stand before people, to speak about the joy of my life, Jesus Christ, what He means to me, and then to have the privilege of sharing this joy with someone else who has never had this joy. I was speaking the other day. I used to be a boy preacher. This is thirty-three years in the ministry. And I lived upon the reputation of a boy preacher. But now I've passed that time, and now I'm becoming the old preacher.

6    But, each day, He, as the song said, "He grows still sweeter than He was the day before."As I begin to, crossed over the halfway mark and looking towards the setting of the sun, Christ becomes more to me, day by day.And when I have these privilege, stand before business men and women of the communities, and to speak to them about something that means more to them than--than anything in the world, that is, Eternal Life. I do not think there is anything any greater, than that I could think of, than Eternal Life.

7      When you're young, you begin to think about, well, as a boy you're playing tops, and the little girl is cutting paper dolls. After while, it's your education. Then, are you going to marry the girl with brown eyes or blue? And then the house is to be paid for, the children is to be educated. And where you at?

8    But I'm so glad that there is something that's real, after this is all over. Then you enter in to something that means more than these other things. Which, they are--they are essential. Certainly they are, to who is going to be the mother of our... and father of our children, and our homes and so forth, and the education of the children. But, even that, all perishes. It goes. But Life Eternal is the greatest thing I know of. It satisfied me when I was a young boy. It satisfies me now when I'm a middle-aged man. And I'm sure when the curtains are falling around my life, I'll be happy to go meet the One that I've spent my life for.

*FOR IF THERE WAS NO HEAVEN TO GO TO, I'D STILL MAKE MY CHOICE TO SERVE THE LORD JESUS.

E-40    [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.] What He is, my friend, if He turns me down at that day and tells me, says, "William Branham, you can't come in." And if there is such a thing as having this, and I have to go away to the lower regions of the lost, I--I--I believe that that love that's anchored in my heart will live on, and I'll look up and say, "I love You, Lord Jesus," just the same. For if there was no heaven to go to, I'd still make my choice to serve the Lord Jesus. For even what remunerations there is here on earth from His blessings, I still long to serve Him.

I want everybody to be reverent; I want you enter right in now to the spiritual realm. I want you to believe, and pray, and hold with me now while I'm here. This is a church house; the meetings are to raise up into a place now to where it be far beyond the other place. And you people up there, you pray, up there in that audience. Believe God; believe that God will move up into them balconies up there tonight, and back in there, and down through this a way, over the audience everywhere, and just enshroud this building. I believe He will do it; I believe He will.

E-41    Now, here He's more willing to do it, than you are to receive it. See? Could you imagine Brother Bosworth expressing to this ocean out here piled up in one tube about two foot high, or two foot across? What a pressure there would be trying to find one little crevice to leak through. Now, divide that by ten thousand times, and you'll find the pressure of the Holy Spirit, trying to find that little crevice in the heart, that true faith can leak into there and to heal you. How to glorify the Father for the death of the Son of God...

IT'S A PLEASURE TO SERVE THE LORD JESUS, TO COME INTO HIS COURTS WITH THANKSGIVING, TO MAKE KNOWN HIS--HIS BLESSINGS TO THE PEOPLE.

THE.ANGEL.OF.THE.LORD_  CONNERSVILLE.IN  THURSDAY_  53-0604

E-2    It's a pleasure to serve the Lord Jesus, to come into His courts with thanksgiving, to make known His--His blessings to the people. And I don't think there's anything greater to talk about in the world today, than Jesus Christ. Do you think so? Someone said, not long ago, said, "Brother Branham, you brag too much on Jesus." I don't think so. I think He's worthy of everything I could say about Him. I just can't say enough about Him, for I know that He's worthy of everything that I would say. And I praise Him. We... And pray to Him. Love Him. We just can't love Him enough.

THE.ANGEL.OF.THE.LORD_  CONNERSVILLE.IN  THURSDAY_  53-0604

YOU SHALL SERVE THE LORD YOUR GOD. AND HE SHALL BLESS THY BREAD AND THY WATER

E-45    Every man that ever amounted to a hill of beans had to fight for what he got. God don't give it to you on a silver platter. He said, "There's the promised land. She's flowing with milk and honey. But before you get there, you're going to go through all these Hivites and Canaanites and everything. But don't you bow to one of them. You destroy the things as you come to them. Stop building a fire on the enemies altar." Amen.

Wished I was twice my size right now, maybe I'd feel twice as good. Let me tell you, brother, I'd almost have to be to feeled it. Listen.

…….

E-47    No matter... Oh, we say, "It's so cute. They got such big fine..." I don't care what they've got. If it don't compare with God's Word, get rid of the thing. We're on a road. Hallelujah. Glory.

Holy Ghost is moving on; signs and wonders are following, demonstrations and powers of God, healings. Whew. That's me. That's what I like. Amen.

E-48    "He who the Son has made free is free indeed." Amen. No bondage, no... "And free in the liberty where Christ has made you free." That's right. Knock that little old Hivite out. Little old Jebusite... Take that little old Canaanite and just kick him away. Don't let him live. Kill him. God said kill him, destroy him. Not just, "My dear little friend, I'll be back to see you again as soon as this revival's over." Oh, my.

Don't never do that. If you do, you'll never get the promised land. Brother, take out the Sword of God and go to fighting. Whew. Wished I had a long time to stay on that. I got some more thoughts moving up there, but I want to get down here where He gets them into the land. Amen.

E-49    Let's read a little farther. Don't bow down to them. Don't serve them. Destroy their images.

You shall serve the Lord your God. And He shall bless thy bread and thy water; and I will take sickness out of the midst of thee. (Hallelujah.)

God said that. If God said that in the type of the journey, how much more He--is He in the actual journey? If a brass serpent would take the sickness out of the midst, what will Jesus Christ do?

And Jesus said, "As (the same reason, a compound reason.) Moses lifted up the brass serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man." They were sinned against God and against Moses and they were sick because they did it. And the ant--or the type taking away sickness, what will the antitype do? If a brass serpent did it, what will Jesus Christ do?

He said, "As the Son of man... As Moses lifted up the brass serpent, so must the Son of man be lifted up."

All The Days Of Our Life Pt- 4

*GOD PUT YOU HERE TO BE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD, AND IF YOU FAIL TO GET THAT, YOU FAIL TO RECEIVE THE VERY PURPOSE GOD PUT YOU ON EARTH TO BE."

E-33    And here--heresometime ago, I was talking to a man out in Idaho up here, and he said, "Well, Mr. Branham," he said, "I raised hogs." He said, "My grandfather had this herd. He educated us children. And the same herd, I've educated my children. And my children will come up and educate theirs by the same herd."

I said, "That's very nice, sir. And that's a legitimate job is to--is to raise stock." But I said, "Did you know God put you here for some other purpose besides raise hogs to educate your children? God put you here to be sons and daughters of God, and if you fail to get that, you fail to receive the very purpose God put you on earth to be." That's right.

No, matter how honest, how decent, how moral you might be, how good you might be, what a fine sociable fellow you might be; you still miss the calling unless youserve the Lord Jesus and become a son and daughter of God.No, matter how good a neighbor you might be, how good a anything you may be, that's all good and we appreciate that. But my brother, until you become a son of God, you fail to answer the purpose that God put you on the earth to be.That's right.

*PURPOSE IN YOUR HEART THAT YOU'LL LIVE. IF IT'S OLD FASHION, LIVE OLD FASHION AND SERVE THE LORD GOD OF THE HEAVENS AND EARTH.

E-41    There's only one thing and only one place in the Bible that has ever acted that made a person take off their clothes and they were devil-possessed. That's right. It's the truth, and it's no compliment on that--compromising. It's the truth. It's the devil that gets into those people that makes them strip their clothes off. It's the devil. You don't mean to be wrong, but woman, it's the devil doing that.

It used to be wrong for holiness women to wear paint on their face. And now, they just gob it in on any way and sing and shout and praise the Lord like there was nothing to it.

Oh, brother, do you realize that that's the devil that's a doing that? Purpose in your heart that you'll live. If it's old fashion, live old fashion and serve the Lord God of the heavens and earth. Purpose in your heart.

E-42    Notice, how they'd got away.It used to be wrong for man to drink. Why, it's popular now. Everywhere you go. In the rooms... I was in a Sunday school convention not long ago. In the room, the hotel room where we was staying, the awfullest drunken bunch I ever got into in my life. And they were riding up and down on the elevators in a Sunday school convention. And little boys and girls going in the same room together and staying all night. And their archbishop setting there permitting it.

Brother, they're willfully ignorant. God's Word said separate yourself from such chaos and muck. In our American nation, it's higher rate in divorce than there is in all the rest of the world put together. What's the matter? We're getting ripe for judgment.

You can preach the Bible, and the power of the Holy Ghost, and the resurrection of Christ, and the signs and wonders will follow the believer, speak the gifts coming back into the church, the restoration of all things; and preachers will even laugh at you and say you've lost your mind.

Brother, I've purposed in my heart, regardless of where on earth has got to stand, if I have to be excommunicated, I'd preach the whole Bible or none of it at all...?... Certainly. Purpose in your heart to do that which is right, think that which is holy.

THE.HANDWRITING.ON.THE.WALL_  JEFF.IN  SUNDAY_  56-0902

*IF YOU'LL PURPOSE IN YOUR HEART THAT YOU'LL LIVE CLEAN AND PURE BEFORE GOD, NATURE ITSELF WILL TEACH YOU THAT THOSE THINGS ARE WRONG.

E-58    And I wrote out my prayer. I said, "God, I've been an awful man. If You'll just forgive me." I took it and tacked it on the tree. I didn't know how to ask Him. I thought if He come by, He could read it, and know that I was sorry for what I done. I didn't know how to pray. But the God of heaven understood that, and He saved my lost soul. Yes, yes, sir.

I stood with the old trees up there in the woods other day and I started weeping. Brother Wood and I was out in the woods. And I noticed it. That great big tree had its great, strong branches out like that. I thought, "What a wonderful tree." I used to break pieces off of it, couldn't afford a tent, and make a little shelter rest and get back under it at night when it was raining when we would be fishing, staying out all night.

And when I, just as a kid, and I thought this tree will stand here for hundreds and hundreds of years. It's nothing but a snag now. What is it? No, matter how strong and how powerful it was, everything mortal has to give away to immortality.

E-59    And brother, we've been a great nation. We've been a great people. We've been a great church. We've been a great everything. But I'll tell you; everything mortal has to give away. And this--the time is at hand. I tell you; everything is laying in it. And the world has become to one great big chaos of just--of corruption and stink before God. This nation, its whiskey drinking, beer drinking, and our taxes has paid on this whiskey and stuff which supports our nation, and its blood money.

If you think it's wrong to drink whiskey and you say, "Leave it alone, preacher, you oughtn't to say nothing about drinking. It's our American right."I know it's your American rights, but it's not your heavenly rights.

And brother, if your willing before God, you'll--you will be able--you will in your heart forfeit every filthy right that you have to serve the Lord, and will purpose in your heart that you will not defile yourself with the things of the world.

E-60    You say, "Brother Branham, other Christians smoke. Why can't I smoke?" You might have a right to smoke as an American citizen, but you have not the right to do it as a Christian. Because it's a stumbling block in the other person's way. That's exactly right. And you shouldn't do it; you lay a stumbling block.

All these other things. And your dressing, you say, "Well, the rest of the women, they dress like this and the other girls. They dress like this, they do this. Why can't I do it?" I know it's your American right. "The law don't say I can't do it." I know that. It don't say hardly anything, you can do anything you want to. That's right. Just about anything...

But brother, it's not in a Christian's heart to do that. If you'll purpose in your heart that you'll live clean and pure before God, nature itself will teach you that those things are wrong.

E-61    But here we are. We come into this place. What is it? It's because we're at the end road. Purpose in your heart tonight, never no more, never no more, as long as the world stands or as long as you live, that you'll never defile yourself any more with the portion of the American way of life (Yes, sir.)--American way of life so-called. Now, the old American way of life was fine. Be neighborly and honest and so forth, that's good. But this modern way of your nakedness, and drinking, and carousing, and separation, and marrying, and intermarrying, and--and all this nonsense. Purpose in your heart to abstain from all that as long as you live. Let us pray.

THE.HANDWRITING.ON.THE.WALL_  JEFF.IN  SUNDAY_  56-0902

*AND IF YOU WANT TO BE USED OF GOD, PURPOSE IN YOUR HEART THAT YOU'LL LOVE HIM AND SERVE HIM, AND EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE.

E-27    Now, Daniel said, "I'm going to purpose in my heart. No matter how much pressure they put on me, how much they laugh and say I'm a holy-roller, that won't bother me a bit. That won't phase me one bit. I'm going to stay true to God no matter what comes through bad." That's the way. Then you're going to get somewhere when you start with that attitude.

Remember, it's the motive that you have towards anything that determines what you're going to get out of it. It's your motives. If your motives is right, you'll be all right. But always make your motives right. Serve the Lord for one purpose, because you love Him, not because you're afraid of hell, not because you're afraid of dying, but because you love Him, Who loved you when you were unlovable. That's it.

"Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious Blood shall never lose its power till all the ransomed Church of God be saved to sin no more." That's right. "Ever since by faith I saw that stream, Thy flowing wounds supply, redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die." What a marvelous quotation of the poet. And that's right. Take all of everything else, but give me love.

E-28    If I had every gift in the Bible and could exchange it for love, I'd never wink an eye. I'd take it right now. Let me feel the blessings of the Lord Jesus and His Divine love into my heart that's shed abroad by the Holy Ghost, and I'll exchange any gift in the Bible for that. Yes, sir. I'd exchange a--a domain if I was a king and setting on a throne, and the world was my domain, I'd give every penny of it and forfeit a million years on this life in this world here as to have the love of Jesus Christ, that's shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost. There's nothing to compare with it.

So purpose in your heart now that you'll serve the Lord, no matter what the world says. Oh, how tricky the devil is, how sly he is, friends. Watch him.

E-29    Out in the scope of the little ministry that the Lord has given me around the world in different nations, and seeing that sly hand of the devil, so tricky. How easy he could upset you and make it look like it's the truth. Yes, sir. The biggest lie was ever told had truth in it. The first lie was ever told had truth in it. The first lie that the devil told Eve had a lot of truth in it.

Said, "She'd be open-eyed, she'd have--she'd be wise, she'd have more knowledge." All that was true. And then he said, "Surely, you'll not die." But God said you would die. So that just settled it. Keep true to the Word.

E-30    And Daniel was going to purpose in his heart, he'd be true to God and God's Word. And while he was down there, the Lord could use him. Why could He use Daniel? Because he had purposed in his heart. And if you want to be used of God, purpose in your heart that you'll love Him and serve Him, and everything will be fine.

THE.HANDWRITING.ON.THE.WALL_  JEFF.IN  SUNDAY_  56-0902

++++++

THE WHOLE CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLE IS BASED UPON REST. "COME UNTO ME ALL YE THAT LABOR AND HEAVY LADEN. I WILL GIVE YOU REST.

E-20    Now, that is what I find around most Christian lives. Most, I hate to say it that way, but it's true. The most people that can profess Christianity, they seem to have such a hard struggling time to hold on. I believe it's because of a lack of correct teaching of--of the Bible. There's no such a thing as holding on. He done the holding on. The whole Christian principle is based upon rest. "Come unto Me all ye that labor and heavy laden. I will give you rest."Don't have to worry and struggle. You're just resting; that's all. Given rest, you enter in peace, that the whole thing's finished. "Them who He has called, He has justified. Those who He has justified, He has already glorified," Scripture quoting.

E-21    Notice. It's nothing that you do, or what you can do. It's what God has done for you in Christ. You could not come to...

Someone said, "Well, I'll tell you, I--I just quit this, and I went to seeking God."

No man never sought God. Man don't seek God; God seeks man. The very beginning at the garden of Eden, proved it. Adam ought to have been running through the garden, hollering, "Father, Father, where are You?"

But it was God going through the garden of Eden, saying, "Adam, Adam, where art thou?" And Adam hiding, that's the nature of man.

E-22    And Jesus said, "No man can come to Me except the Father draws Him first."It's nothing you can do about it. And Jesus didn't come to the Calvary to die for a haphazard purpose. He didn't come there and say, "Well, maybe, I'll die; it'll be so pathetic to some people will see that I died, and maybe they'll come and serve the Lord.Jesus come for a specific purpose to redeem those who God by foreknowledge elected to come to Him. That's correct. If you who scholars that know the Bible know that even the patriarchs made an example. Abraham is God's election. God called Abraham when he wasn't nothing, nobody. He's just an ordinary man. Not because he was a good man, but because God's foreknowledge He elected Abraham. Abraham's electing, Isaac justification, Jacob grace, Joseph perfection. That ended it. Joseph was the perfect one (See?), the Prince--Prince of prosperity.

……..

Now, there's bound to be something lacking somewhere. God's no respect of person. Or God doesn't respect persons. He wants all of His children to have the same. He wouldn't... A righteous father wouldn't give one a dish of ice cream, without giving them all ice cream. Certainly. He wants you to live...And I'm not talking about gifts; I'm talking about grace.

Now... 'Course, some are called apostles, and prophets, and teachers, and evangelists, and church offices, and so forth. That's... God has placed in the church these things. And, but I'm talking about measures of grace, overcoming grace to each one. Then He elects you to your office.

E-24    But then, but in grace God has given to us all, freely as we have need, everything that we have need of. And the trouble... I noticed up in Michigan; you people up here can brag a lot, because you have a lot of fruit. We get grapes from Michigan. We get cherries from Michigan, the big beans, and all kinds. Beautiful. I think there's not a place in the world grows them any better than Michigan. And now, you ought to understand what your fruit trees are. Did you ever know that that little cherry tree, or little apple tree, when you set it out, when it's no bigger than about one half inch tall, that every bushel of apples that you'll ever collect off that tree, is in it right then. If isn't, where does it come from? Who hangs it on there? It's already in it. The only thing that little tree does, you just set it out and water it. And it has to drink, and drink, until it gets so much, it just goes to pushing up, drinks more than its lotted portion. And it swells out. And it pushes out limbs. It pushes out buds, then it pushes out leaves, then blossoms, and then apples. Then it pushes again; it pushes again, just keeps drinking, drinking, drinking, till it just pushes out.

E-25    And that's what the Christian does. When you're planted in Christ Jesus, everything that you have need of in earth's journey is in you when you receive the Holy Spirit. And the only thing you have to do is drink, drink, and push out, push out. Just drink till you can't drink no more. If you have need of Divine healing, go to God's Word and drink from It, until you push out. If you need more of God, just keep drinking, pushing out. And Christ is the inexhaustible Fountain of Life. And if you're planted in Him, the only thing you have to do, is drink of His goodness and push out whatever you have need of in this earth's journey. It's all drinking, resting, peace. It's not what you struggle and strive and pull at, you--you defeat the very purpose that you're representing when you do that.

E-26    Christianity is not something, God's not One you have to beg, and cry, and plead, and fast, and starve, and everything like that to get to. Certainly not. I'm not degrading a fast.

But here not long ago, a man wrote a book on fasting. My, women come into the meeting, and men, who'd went on those fasts that were insane. They went just because the book said to fast forty days. Some of them with false plates, and their teeth would drop out. And their eyes would sink back. And mothers-to-be to... women to be mothers, their little ones as you understand, they would completely go mentally out, and be taken to the institutions. Many, many of them, come in that condition. I believe in fasting. Certainly. But when you fast, you don't hunger. Jesus after He had got through fasting, the Bible said, He was hungry. God puts a fast on you. You don't put it on yourself. He certainly captured the women, the man did that wrote the book, when he said, put a picture of a woman there, she looked twenty years younger, said, after the fast. You ought to seen her then, just about a year later what she looked like, after that. See? Certainly.

You don't do that. You don't do things by works. It's by grace. God in sovereign grace...
