25-0607A_A HIGHER CALLING
Php 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Php 3:11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
Php 3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Php 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

You notice, our politicians today
won't say nothing about reading the Bible in school. They're afraid. They don't
know which way the wind is a blowing. They don't know whether they'll lose the
vote, or not. We need another Abraham Lincoln. We need another John Quincy
Adam. We need somebody who will stand up, regardless of which a way the wind is
a blowing, and give their honest convictions.
54 Today, a denominational preacher, though you show him in the Word, the Truth, he don't know what to do. He's afraid he'll lose his meal ticket. We need man and women today that's burly with the Gospel, somebody that'll stand and tell their conviction, point out what's right and what's wrong, whether the Word of God is right or whether the denomination is right.

63 One of the prophets, Jeremiah. God said,
"Before you was even formed in your mother's womb, I ordained you a
prophet to the nation."
64 John the Baptist, why, he was identified in the Scripture. Isaiah, seven hundred and twelve years before his coming, said, "He is the voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the Lord!'" And about four hundred years before His appearing, again we find, Malachi said, "Behold I send My messenger before My face, to prepare the way before the Lord."

65 See, he was foreordained.
And so was all those offices of God, if they are called of God.
66 If they're educated into it, it's only
cannon fodder, see, it can't be nothing. If it's a meal ticket, then you sell
your birthrights for a meal ticket, you'll compromise to go with an
organization or some group. But if it's of God, you'll stand by that Word,
regardless, because you were born to stand by it.
67 Moses, no one else could take his place. No
one else could do the job. He was ordained to do it.
68 And, brethren, sister, if you've got Eternal Life, you were ordained to do a certain thing. Maybe a good housewife, maybe something else, but nobody can take your place. God has made you a place. Don't try to take somebody else's place. That's carnal impersonations, see, shows there is something wrong with you. Be what you are, just exactly. Don't be nothing else.

"I know thy works, thy
labour, and thy patience." As He walks in the midst of His church, He is
aware of the suffering of His people, and He cares. As it was in the days of
the captivity in Egypt when He heard their cries, He Who never changes still
hears the cries of the oppressed as He walks amongst them. The very word,
labour, signifies a weariness through oppression. God's people do not only work
for Him in a labour of love, but they suffer for Him with joy. They are patient
in bearing the yoke. This first age suffered great persecution. It had to work
hard to preach the Gospel and shed forth truth. Their high calling in life was
to serve God, and when their hopes in life were blighted they were patient and
committed all to Him Who had promised a lasting recompence in heaven for what
they had given up for Him on earth.
Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Php 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
Php 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
