Psa 89:1  Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. 

Psa 89:2  For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens. 

Psa 89:3  I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, 

Psa 89:4  Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah. 

Psa 89:5  And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.

Psa 89:24  But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.

*THE SPIRIT OF GOD MAKES THEM. IF IT WASN'T SO, HE WOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO SEND THE HOLY GHOST.

113    …..And today God's made a contract, not because you were good, not because you joined church, not because you been a good member of society. You can be ever so good; you can live a clean life; you can go to church every day; you can sacrifice every day; you can give a part of your money; you can give up all the sins of the world, and everything, and live just as true and faithful as you can, and you'll miss heaven just as far as east is from the west. That's right. It isn't by goodness that we are saved, but it's by His mercy that we're bought, that God wanted to make sons and daughters. Goodness never makes them. The Spirit of God makes them. If it wasn't so, He wouldn't have had to send the Holy Ghost.

How could the Holy Ghost be complete unless--or how could the--the contract be complete? Jesus said, "I go away, yet I'll come again and be with you, even in you. Pray the Father, and He'll give you the Holy Ghost. He will abide forever."

  116    And people put their name on church books, trying to turn a new page on Christmas day, trying to walk yonder at church and just pay a few tributes to the manger back yonder. When the Holy Ghost pushing you just where...?... and the Word of God. And so blind they walk around, say, "Well, that's a bunch of holy-rollers." Just like it was in the days of Noah, so is it now.

The coming of the Son of God's drawing nigh. That's right. And only those who are charged by the Holy Ghost, who has Immortal Life living in them, the Holy Ghost, that's the type that's going to be drawed from here, just as certain as anything.

There was something another about that little old ark in the days of Noah, that floated on top the water. It was a drawing power from above, that was right in the top, that the glory of God shined from heaven down upon them...?...

  119    And I tell you, today, friend, hear my Word. There is a drawing power, not from the church, not from the pastor, but from glory, this baptism of the Holy Ghost moving down in that life channel to draw up a Church. What is it? The power of God, the access to His Life, Zoe.

"These things that I do shall you do also; greater than this shall you do." He was persecuted, laughed at, made fun of, and died, and went in the grave. But He was true; He had the Spirit of God in Him, and God raised Him up. If we go the same way, so shall we come out. Oh, hallelujah. I love Him.

God, give all of us a love for each other unto the end, that we'll have love and confidence in each other, and in Thee, until Thou does come and get us. And then may we live neighbors to each other in heaven, where that we can just go down there the last night of the--the great supper when we finish up earth's journey...

  E-45    And You said, "I will drink, more the fruit of the vine till I eat and drink anew with you in My Father's Kingdom." When we come there to that great wedding supper, and we look across the table at one another, O God, just to slip a little handshake over while the tears of joy rolls down our cheeks. The King come out in His beauty and wipe all the tears from our eyes then and say, "Don't cry. It's all over now. There'll never be no more healing campaigns up here: no more tired restless nights, no more wheelchairs, graves, sickness." Oh, for that great day. And then You'll say, "Enter into the joys of the Lord." Oh, I long to hear that at that day, Father.

And now while we're here together, and all of us longing the same thing, make us true stewards. May we shape our lives by self control, that we'll know by the help of the Holy Spirit to have a full confidence that Jesus will say, "Well done, My good and faithful servant." at that day.

  E-14    What I think, friends, that--that what we fail is our faith fails to believe that we take Him as something way off somewhere else, when He's right here with us. He's just as real in this room tonight as this light is. Darkness can't come in this room, as long as this light's here, no matter how dark it is outside, it'll never get so dark but what this light overcome the darkness. Is that right? No matter how much dark tries to press through that window, as long as that light's there, light is more powerful than darkness.

And when faith comes in, no matter how much unbelief stands around, the light is greater than the darkness. And I believe God is just as real in this room tonight, as that light is, as the light on my hand, and just as close as the light is on my hands.

"These things saith the Faithful and True Witness." Now I want to show you what I find in the thought of "faithful". You know we often talk about a great unchanging God, Whose Word does not change. And when we speak of Him after that manner we often get a view of Him that makes Him seem very impersonal. It is as though God made the whole universe and all the laws that pertain to it and then stood back and became a great impersonal God. It is as though God made a way of salvation for lost mankind, that way being the cross, and then when the death of Christ has atoned for our sins, and His resurrection gave us an open door to Him, God just folded His arms and stood back. It is as if we majored in believing in a great Creator, Who having created, lost personal interest in His creation. Now I say that is how too many people are apt to think. But that is wrong thinking, for God is GOVERNING IN THE AFFAIRS OF MEN RIGHT NOW. HE IS BOTH CREATOR AND SUSTAINER.

Colossians 1:16-17.

 "For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all things were created by Him, and for Him:

And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist."

 He is a Sovereign God. By His own counsel He purposed the plan of the salvation of His own elect which He foreknew. The Son died upon the cross to establish the means of Salvation and the Holy Spirit carefully executes the will of the Father. He is working all things at this moment according to the purpose of His own will. He is right in the midst of it all. He is in the midst of His church. This great Creator, Saviour-God is faithfully working amongst His own right now as the great Shepherd of the sheep. His very existence is for His own. He loves them and cares for them. His eye is ever upon them. When the Word says that "your lives are hid with Christ in God" it means exactly what it says. Oh, I am so glad that my God abides faithful. He is true to Himself, He won't lie. He is true to the Word, He will back it up. He is true to us, He will lose none of us, but raise us up in the last day. I am glad that I am resting in His faithfulness.

Philippians 1:6.

 "Being confident of this very thing, that He Which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the Day of Jesus Christ."

"He is the True Witness."

 Now this word, true, is the same word we saw back there in Revelation 3:7. You recall that it does not mean 'true' as in contrast with 'false.' It has a richer, deeper meaning by far. It expresses perfect realization in contrast to partial realization. Now back in the Philadelphian Age, the coming of the Lord was drawing nigh. What great love that age manifested for Him.

Lam 3:22  It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 

Lam 3:23  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 

Lam 3:24  The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 

Lam 3:25  The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 

Lam 3:26  It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. 

Lam 3:27  It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

Psa 80:2  Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us. 

Psa 80:3  Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. 

Psa 80:4  O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people? 

Psa 80:5  Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure. 

Psa 80:6  Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.

E-16    You remember when He stood there looking out upon the harvest, He said... He was the Lord of the harvest. He said, "The harvest is ripe and laborers are but few; pray ye the Lord of the harvest, that He will send laborers into His harvest." In other words, "Pray to Me that I will send laborers into My harvest, which I'm just telling you it's such a needy thing."

But part of it lays in human beings. Do you believe that? The Kingdom of God lays within the human being. Now, Jesus said in one place, "I am the Vine, ye are the branches." The vine can't bear fruit; the branches in the vine bears fruit. God cannot bear fruit of Hisself, it's got to take the Church. Is that right? He's got to take you branches to bear fruit. And when you branches are yielded to the vine, then fruit comes forth. See what I mean? God wants your hands; He wants your eyes; He wants your tongue, wants your lips, wants your ears, wants your hands and feet so He can bring forth fruit through you.
 
*DO YOU KNOW, THAT THERE'S SOME THINGS THAT WE HAVE TO DO THAT GOD CANNOT DO UNTIL WE DO IT? THE MINISTRY... LOOK, WE ARE THE BRANCHES; HE IS THE VINE.

E-12    Well, the people I have give the sign instead of praying for the sick. And I've noticed along that how the Holy Spirit... Do you know, that there's some things that we have to do that God cannot do until we do it? Did you know that? The ministry... Look, we are the branches; He is the vine. But the vine can't bear fruit; it's the branches that bear fruit. Is that right? Now, He--He furnishes the energy, but we got to do the job. You get what I mean? The Holy Spirit's here tonight, as you see Him each night. He knows you, but the only way He speaks is through us. Is that right? We--our hands are His hands, our eyes are His eyes.

And now, we notice that He gives us things. Now, there Jesus was standing one day, looking upon the harvest... Do you believe He was the Lord of the harvest? And He looked out upon the harvest and said, "You pray the Lord of the harvest, that He will send laborers into His harvest, because the harvest is ripe and laborers are few." In other words, "You ask Me to do what I know that's got--ought to be done." They--He could not do it until they asked Him to do it.
 
*THE GOSPEL CAN BE PREACHED BY CHRIST IF YOU'LL OPEN UP YOURSELF AND BE A BRANCH THAT'LL BEAR FORTH FRUIT.

244    And the only way that God can preach the Gospel today is through that lump of clay, and that's why He is keeping you here. And that's why you sick people have a right to come to Christ. Say, "Lord Jesus, if You'll only heal me now, I'll go. I may not be a preacher, but I'll talk about it. I'll do everything that I can. You are the vine; I'm one of the branches." Now, the vine doesn't bear fruit. The branches bears fruit, not the vine, the branch. The vine only puts the energy into it. The Gospel can be preached by Christ if you'll open up yourself and be a branch that'll bear forth fruit. Others can see Christ in you by your testimony, by your life and the way you live. He is the energy, but you're the show picture. You're the walking Bible.
 
*THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST CLEANSES HIS CHURCH AND SANCTIFIES IT, THAT HIS HOLY SPIRIT MIGHT CONTINUE TO CARRY THE WORK OF GOD ON THROUGH ALL AGES.

E-29    …..See, man cannot do nothing. It's God in man. Jesus said, "I am the Vine; ye are the branch." Now, as long as a branch is in the Vine, it'll bear the fruit of the Vine. Now, God always used men for His agent.

That's why He used His own Son to inveil Himself. He come down and took the form of man in order to die the death for man. He could not die in the Spirit, but He was put to death in the flesh.
Then God was in Abraham; God was in Isaac; God was in Jacob; God was in Joseph; God was in David. He was in all those people back in there, them prophets and so forth. It was God working through men.

  E-30    Now, in this New Testament age, the Blood of Jesus Christ cleanses His church and sanctifies it, that His Holy Spirit might continue to carry the work of God on through all ages. And He's just the same today. If it isn't, then we're false witnesses of this Bible. If it... If that isn't true, then the Bible isn't true. It's time that men preach the Gospel. It's time that the power of God was made known. When heathens trying to step on that Word, we need men like the Hebrew children, "Our God is able to deliver us from this..." That's right. It's time. God remains the same.
 
*AND WHEN HE WENT AWAY, HIS WORKS WAS TO BE CARRIED ON IN HIS CHURCH UNTIL HE RETURNED.

E-89    And when He went away, His works was to be carried on in His church until He returned. Is that right? He said, "We are the vine... We are the branches; He is the Vine." Is that right? Saint John 15th chapter: "I am the Vine; ye are the branches." And every branch that bringeth forth fruit is pruned, and fixed up, and purged so it'll bring more. But the branch that doesn't bear fruit is plucked off.

Now, the branches is the one that bears fruit, not the vine. So we, the church, is left as the branches. So your eyes and my eyes is the only eyes that God has on the earth. Your lips and my lips is His--is His branch. He energizes it to bring forth fruit. And our ears is His ears. Our hands to do good is His hands. Our feet are His feet to carry us to church and to do good. "Blessed are the feet that bring--beareth good tidings." And all--all such. We are His vine. And He just pours His energy into us.

  E-90    Now, there's five gifts that's set into the church: apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, pastors. That's the branches. And God pours His energy into that, some of them to preach, some of them to be evangelists, some to be pastors, teachers, seer. And apostles are missionaries, either one, it's both the same, same word.

E-34    …..We fail to see the power that God has placed in His people. God is in His people. You believe that? God was with His people one time, when He walked on earth. But now, God is in His people. "A little while, the world sees Me no more, yet you'll see Me, for I (personal pronoun, now) will be with and in you to the end of the world."

God dwells, moves, works in mankind. Hallelujah. God doesn't work through orders. He doesn't work through organizations. He works through individuals. God works in man. God doesn't do the work today. He energizes or projects His Spirit into men to do so. He said, "I am the Vine." The vine don't bear fruit. "Ye are the branches."

And then you can be a witness just like Noah's ark was a witness, like Jesus was a witness of God.

  E-46    A man's work declares his character. Christ was God's work. And Christ declared God's character, His feeling for the sick, His longing for saving of souls, till even He gave His own life. God's work... God's character was declared in Christ.

And if you can just empty your own intellectual thoughts out and give God the right of way, He can declare His character through the work of your yielding. Empty out; get the world, get your doubts out of the way.

If you come to the altar to be prayed for, say, "I'll go up and see if I get healed," God can never declare His works. You've got to get your own thoughts out of the way and let Him fill you.

Then if the branch--the--is in the vine, the branch will bear fruit of the vine. Is that right? Then that's the Life of Christ in the Church bearing the same fruits that He did.

  15-4    Enforce... Then, we are the--have the privilege to enforce upon Satan the claims that God give us, for God has a law; and His Word is the Law. And God in this Word made certain claims to the church. Therefore, we have a right to force these claims upon Satan and say, "Give it back."

And he has to do it, because we can take God's Agent, the Holy Spirit, go right down on our knees, and say, "It's THUS SAITH THE LORD." He's got to give it up; that's all, 'cause the Holy Spirit's there to make him do it.

  15-6    The law of the land is to enforce--it's by the land, for the land. But the Law of the Spirit of God is to force Satan to give up that which he has unrightfully, deceitfully taken from God. Souls of men he took from God, souls of women, children; sickness of the body, he placed upon people where God made them in His image to be like Him. And the church is given the rightful, legal rights by the Bible, to take the Holy Spirit and enforce this upon them.

  17-7    There's a law... Oh, if I ever get to my text. There's a law, there's a law given amongst everything. You know, a fish has a law. And that fish can stand up here in water, and he has a law within him. If he will just let go of that law that's in him, he can sink plumb to the bottom of the sea: won't bother him a bit; won't break one cell.

You try to do it. That law's not in you. You can't do it, but the fish can. He deflates himself of that air, such a way that he can; there's nothing in him to burst open. And he's made that way; he knows it, and he can enforce that law to take him plumb to the bottom of the sea and then raise him back up again.

  18-2    A bird has a law. Now, its body's material; it's earthbound, sets on the earth here; but it has a law within it, that the way it spreads its wings, it can fly plumb out of sight. That's against science. They claim it's--it's earthbound; gravitation has to hold it here. But it can defy gravitation, lift itself right off of it, and go right on out; because it has to put that law that's in it to work; and it's built to possess that law. Now, I'm begin to feel religious.

  18-3    Now, we have a law, the law of the Life in us. We don't... Only thing you have to do... You're made, and borned, and placed here in the Body of Christ as sons and daughters of God. You don't have to "knuck" down to the devil. We've got a law; that's the law of the Holy Spirit. The only thing you know--have to do, is know how to let go and let God. You keep fighting at it (See?), and it won't never work. When you let go and let God, that's all... See?

Joh 15:5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

  E-49    Looky here, at Paul. Look when Jesus come. There was those Pharisees, just as fundamental in belief as they could be. They believed the Messiah would come. Jesus preached the same Gospel they preached. But what was the difference between Jesus' bunch and the Pharisee's bunch, or the priests, the religion of that day. Here they was at the temple with all their great beautiful ceremony; the thousands of trumpets playing; the great singers, the angelic choir, as it was, and all the beautifuls robe... And down on the river somewhere, stood Jesus with a bunch of fishermen. The Emmanuel of God... What was the difference? Where they had tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands gathered in the temple, He had three or four thousand gathered somewhere. What was the difference? God a vindicated Him by signs and wonders and miracles, and they failed to see it.

That spirit of Cain from the garden of Eden... Here's the spirit of Abel from the garden of Eden, coming right on. Both of them is going up into stalk now. Look at them. They're ready to bloom out now. The church and the world together; the formal church and the spiritual church, He said, "Let them grow together."

Notice, impersonations and so forth. As Jambres and Jannes withstood Moses, so do these resist the truth: men of reprobate mind concerning the truth." Just for popularity... They won't go into it, because they're afraid to tackle it.

  E-50    Here, not long ago, I heard Charles Fuller speaking that they had accepted Divine healing, had the power of God in the meeting there. And here some time ago, he was the very one that stood on the platform and talked to me; he said, "Why, Brother Branham," he said, "all this here Divine healers... There's no such a thing as that."

I said, "Just as far as you know there isn't."
He said, "Nobody will come hear." Said, "There's four--this thing seats about four thousand people." He said, "Nobody will come and hear that." Said, "They got the Pentecostals over here; they're all Divine healers. They got the McPherson bunch; they're all Divine healers." Said, "All up and down the coast, they got their Divine healers."
I said, "Brother Fuller, I have nothing to say against that, but God will vindicate His gift and powers, if it's in a belly of hell."
He said, "Come on down. Throw your hat in. It's your money you're losing."
I said, "Well, that's all right then."
He said, "I can't--I can't advertise you."
I said, "I didn't ask you to." I said, "I didn't ask you to." Didn't need any advertising; it was up at the Church of God campgrounds with about ten thousand people up there.

He said, "Well, you're going to be left flat here." That afternoon when about eighteen hundred left out, a few in this balcony, a few over here and a few there; in a hour's time, that place was packed plumb back out to the piers. And here, when these intelligent looking bunch of people walking out, preached afternoon a good sermon. Charles Fuller is one of the best preachers in the land. He is: one of the finest Christian men. But the thing of it is, he's been blinded all this time till just recently, of what's truth. He's preached the Word, fundamental, fundamental school, but now he begins to see that God's a Healer and he speaks. He even said the other day, on his radio broadcast here, that they had speaking in tongues and interpretating of tongues right in the Municipal Auditorium. They accepted it. Hallelujah. Oh, my.

We need the power of God back to shake the shackles of hell down in the devil's eyes, and say, "You're a liar. And God's Word's true, and we're standing on It." Hallelujah. Yes sir.

There, all in their fundamentalism, and standing dressed in their robes and dignity; but they failed to see Jesus Christ being the Son of God. But God a vindicated that was Him by signs and wonders. Watch: He saw visions. He spoke prophesies. The sick was healed. Signs and wonders followed Him. The poor people heard Him gladly. And they rejoiced and screamed, and begin shouting one day when He come riding on a little old mule, come trotting in. They said, "Well, this to fulfill which is spoken of the prophet": trotting in on this mule." He said...

Them people hollering, "Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna."
Those big self styled D.D.'s, Ph.D's, and all that standing out there with their collars turned around, why, said, "Make them hold their peace. They just shiver me to death nearly."
He said, "If they hold their peace, the rocks will immediately cry out."

That spiritual Rock that was in the wilderness was coming in, watering spiritually every believer when he come in. They couldn't hold their peace.

This is worldly, self-styled dignity that people talk about. About faith, they say, "Oh, I got faith." Humble and humilty, hardly know sometimes people does what it really means.

  E-53    That's what God wants today. You...?... when you chose your pastors, you want to get some of these little guys up here from the seminary that's got more intelligence than they got gumption to know how to control. They come in there and say, "He's a good mixer; he goes to the games and things with us." But God wants an old separator, brother, who will stand there and separate right from wrong. That's right.

When you go to get an operation, you don't go and get one of these little doctors that never had an operation before. You go get an old man who's had a lot of experience. Brother, when I want somebody talk to me about Christ, I want somebody that's been through the deep waters (Hallelujah.), somebody who has an experience to know, that's talked face to face with Him, and know what they're talking about. That's what we need today. That's right.
 
No matter what the world says, I'm following Jesus Christ. There you are.

Another great evangelist said, "I believe that that's the truth, but I couldn't accept it in my meetings. Why," he said, "it would--it would mar my popularity."

Brother, I'd rather lay on my stomach and drink branch water, eat soda crackers, and live for God, than to have my name in gold on any tabernacle door or anything else or say that I belong to some denomination.

I want to be flexible. Wherever the Lord leads, that's where I want to go. What He says, I want to do. If He sends the power of the Holy Ghost, I want to believe it. If He says He still wants me to do this, I want to do it. No matter what the world says, I'm following Jesus Christ. There you are.

When were they called saints? When they were sanctified. The Holy Spirit sanctified them; they were called saints. Now, Jude says, a brother, foster brother of Jesus, "I want you to earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints." Don't never let that faith drop.

And the faith of the saints was not in creeds, not in denominations, not in church buildings, not in associations, but it was in the Presence of the living God. They had faith to heal the sick, cast out devils, do miracles. All the great promises that Jesus made, that first church held onto that. It was the lifeline.

  82    Listen here; listen close to what I want to tell you. The ever-Presence of the living God is the lifeline of any church or any bunch of people, the ever-Presence of the living God to perform and to do, and to act and to live with the people as He did at the beginning. If the Presence of the living God brought a Pentecost with power, with signs, with wonders, brought a people so full of the glory of God till they shouted and spoke with other languages, and went and martyrs for the faith, let's earnestly contend for that faith until death shall set us free. Earnestly contend for it. We will not compromise, upon reading books, taking some man-made theology. We'll not compromise upon some creeds or some prayer books, or something somebody else has said.

My faith is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' Blood with righteousness;
All around my soul gives way,
Then He's all my hope and stay.
For on Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other grounds is sinking sand.

  83    No creed but Christ, no law but love, and no book but the Bible, no creed books... The Bible has to say it. The Bible has to not only say it, but say it every time the same, must say it from Genesis to Revelations. It must go in every little web, and weave into every part of the Word. If it doesn't, then I've got the wrong interpretation of It, 'cause God cannot dispute His Own Word. And if it doesn't say the same thing to every little fiber...

If this shirt here, it's wove throughout with the same fiber, it's what makes it what it is. It's what makes it white.

That's what the Church is. If it's going to be a white Church, borned again, without spot, without wrinkle, it's got to be woven with the same kind of a fiber that it started off with on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Ghost experience burning and weaving. You cannot add a piece of rotten goods; you cannot add a piece of burlap sack to it; it won't work. It'll mar it.

166    Hurry, church, back to the Word of the living God! Live off of That, and That alone, 'cause That's what God's people should live by.

  167      God promised this church a Scriptural sign. He said the resurrection would be reproduced, Jesus Christ and His Church would become so they would be one, in the last days. He promised it. Now we know that it's true.

168    Now, He also promised that there would be a restoring of the Faith. We read over in Jude, that said in Jude, "Earnestly contend for the Faith that was once delivered to the saints." Now we are promised, in Malachi 4, by the same system He always did, that we would be restored back to the original Faith. Oh, oh, my! Back to the original Seed, back to the Seed like it begin on the Day of Pentecost, back to the same Doctrine, Word by Word, power by power, Spirit, by the same thing just exactly like it was back in the beginning, through signs and wonders of the living Presence of Jesus Christ. After two thousand years, He is still alive. And He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
