22-0725P_PERFECT STRENGTH BY PERFECT WEAKNESS PT.7_(FAITH REST SOLEMNLY UPON THE WORD OF GOD)
2Co 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Zec 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
Rom 9:14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
Rom 9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
Rom 9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
1Co 2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
1Co 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
1Co 2:3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
1Co 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
1Co 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
1Co 2:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
1Co 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
1Co 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Pro 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Pro 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Pro 3:8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
FAITH REST DIRECTLY UPON THE WRITTEN WORD OF GOD

In A.D. 603, when the
King of England was baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ by Saint
Augustine, setting at a great fireplace one night, while he was talking to him
about Christ, a little sparrow flew into the light, fluttered around a little
bit, flew out. And Saint Augustine said to the king; he said, "Where did
he come from and where did he go to?" He said,
"That's the way that every man that
comes into this world. He comes in here, walks in a little conscience of
senses, not knowing exactly where he come from. And there's only one Book that
can tell him where he's going to, and that's the Bible." And by that, the king was converted and
gave his life to the Lord. And the next morning, he and all of his household
was baptized in the Name of the Lord.
Man in his natural
state he cannot--he cannot understand spiritual things. They are spiritually
discerned.

18 And now I want you to listen close as you
can. I know it's hard, you standing, and congested the way the audience is. But
try to listen to the Word, for the sakes of those who are sick and those who
are sin sick, mainly for those who are sin sick this morning and wanting to
find peace.
The emancipation of the proclamation has been signed. You're free, and you just don't know it. But faith must have a Divine resting place, before... If you have faith in God, you've got to have some Divine resting place to place it. And there's no better place, and no other Divine way, only through God's holy Word. And we want to let our faith rest directly upon the written Word of God.

20 Now,
man, in his carnal condition and his mental conceptions, he always pulls
hisself away from God. It's been since the beginning, that man longs to see the
other side, but he's been bound in a prison house. Sometimes tradition
of man puts him there, that they teach traditions of different forms and
motives of how to worship. And he puts man under bondage, under--in his
tradition. And that has been since the world began. It's been that way. And
he's shut up in the--into prison houses.
But man always has longed to see the other side. And any
little thing that looks a little supernatural, the human being will run for it,
because it's some sort of a promise across the border, just across the lane.
And what makes Him do that is because he's created in the image of his Maker,
Almighty God. He's created to be a worshipper of God, and he must find some
place to give an outlet to that feeling.
HOW CAN FAITH REST ITSELF? YOU GOT TO COME BACK TO THE BIBLE, BACK TO THE TRUTH.
JESUS.CHRIST.THE.SAME.YESTERDAY.TODAY.AND.FOREVER_ CAMPBELLSVILLE.KY SATURDAY_ 55-0806
E-30 When Jesus came in on the scene and begin
to--to speak to the people... I love that part, God always giving vindications.
Oh, now just be quiet a minute. Listen. God always vindicates the truth. No
matter what man--man... That's the reason today we can't
have faith. See, faith is not based upon the shifting sands of man's theology.
Faith can only be based upon the--the solid Rock of God's eternal Word. That's
the only place that faith can rest. It's the only resting place that faith has,
because the Bible said so. Not what the preacher says, not what papa
said, but what God said. That's where faith is solid. To the believer, if God
said it, that settles it. See, there's your resting place.
And with such a shifting condition as we're in today, how
can faith rest itself? You got to come back to the Bible, back to the truth. And when Jesus, a carpenter's Son,
physically speaking, when He come to the earth here that's all He was known of,
and the day that when John baptized Him, God a vindicated Him. God spoke from
the heavens. John saw Him coming in the form a dove, and said, "This is My
beloved Son in Whom I'm pleased to dwell." The right translation there is,
"In whom I am pleased to dwell in." Jesus immediately anointed with
God, He was just a man till that time, but now He becomes the God-man.

E-24 God tests. Like Job, they accused him that he was a secret sinner. And Job was righteous. There was no man on earth like him. And yet, God let the devil take everything he had. And when they accused him of being a secret sinner, he knew that he was righteous before God. He knew he had done no sin. But God lets those things happen to see what you'll do.
You see, He and Satan had a--a proposition. Satan said,
"I'll make him curse You to Your face."
God said, "You can't do it."
And the test had to come. And your test comes, and my test
comes. And we all go through those testings. The Bible said if we cannot stand
that, it proves that we're illegitimate children: Our testimony was not right:
we're not real children of God, but we become illegitimate; we're not the
children of God. We just claim to be.

E-25 When they laugh at you when you receive
the Holy Ghost, and you go back in the world with them, that shows you never
got It. When you're testifying of your healing, knowing that God's done
something for you, and your neighbors say, "You're crazy; you're no better
off," and you say, "Well, maybe I'm not." It shows you wasn't
worthy of your healing to begin with. You stand on your testimony. Don't you
give away, you stand right there.
Job said, "I know my Redeemer liveth, and at the last days He will stand on the earth. Though the skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh I'll see God." The lightnings flashed; the thunders roared. He held out to the end.
THE.REACTION.TO.AN.ACTION_ CHAUTAUQUA.OH MONDAY_ 59-0810
E-26 This little woman had done all she knowed
to do, and yet, God kept silent.
But when real faith has caught the vision, it can keep silent and rest calmly, because it knows it's going to happen. Don't forget that. Faith will rest with perfect assurance. No matter what the storms are saying, how contrary it looks, faith rests with assurance. Faith can take its stand upon a rock, look into a grave or into the waters where a lovely little chunk of your own loving heart has been buried, and faith can look across the sea to Him that said, "I am the Resurrection and Life." Faith rests assurance.
THE.REACTION.TO.AN.ACTION_ CHAUTAUQUA.OH MONDAY_ 59-0810
E-27 We speak of faith; we talk of faith; but I
wonder sometime if we know what we're talking about. I wonder if it isn't hope
instead of faith. Faith doesn't move. No matter
how contrary it looks, faith stays right there. It never moves.
When Moses was put into the--the bulrush in a little slimy ark, pushed out into the sea where the crocodiles were fat with children, the mother, Jochebed, with a faith rest and assure that she was putting the proper child of God on the water, she pushed him right into the jaws of death, knowing that God could raise him back. Amen. That makes me feel religious. She knew God would take care of him. Though he didn't even have a name, God could give him a name. She pushed the sweetest little baby was ever in the world nearly, out into the jaws of death, knowing that she was following the instructions of Almighty God. And faith can rest assure that God would do something about it, for she knowed he was born a deliverer.
THE.REACTION.TO.AN.ACTION_ CHAUTAUQUA.OH MONDAY_ 59-0810
E-28 And if you're sure that you're
borned of the Spirit of God, that you have the Holy Ghost, and the promises of
God is yours, I don't care what the devil does, you can still rest assure.
Faith takes its unmovable stand. Faith cannot rest upon
the shifting sands of man's theology, but it takes its solemn stand on the Rock
of Ages which is unmovable; there it rests with assurance. No matter what comes or goes, my
faith holds. How sick I get, how contrary it looks, and how this is, my faith
is anchored within the veil and nothing can move me.
Now, you can't bluff it, you got to have it. You can't bluff
it. Satan knows when you're bluffing, and he also knows when you've got it. Your heart condemns you not and you're a Christian, you have a right to
every promise that God made in His Book. It's yours. No matter what the
consequences is and what the outcome, you don't look at that; you look at the
faith that God give you to the promise. Then it stands there; nothing will move
it.
