23-0904P_REPROACH FOR THE CAUSE OF THE WORD PT.2 (Had to Stand that First, then God kept His Word)

23-0904P_REPROACH FOR THE CAUSE OF THE WORD PT.2 (Had to Stand that First, then God kept His Word)

Psa 89:50  Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;

Psa 89:51  Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O LORD; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.

Psa 89:52  Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.

*EVERY MAN THAT COMES TO CHRIST MUST FIRST BE CHILD-TRAINED FOR THE--FOR THE PURPOSE THAT GOD HAS ORDAINED YOU FOR.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

13-1    Can you remember the disciples returning back and rejoicing because they figured that they were counted worthy to stand the reproach of His Name? He said, "All that live godly in Christ shall bear a persecution," the reproach of the Word.

You always have to stand this reproach in order to give your testing to see. Every man that comes to Christ must first be child-trained for the--for the purpose that God has ordained you for. And remember, if you could just keep quiet... Remember, if He's called you for this, there's nothing that can keep it from happening. There's not enough devils in torment but what God's Word will be made manifest. You're born for a purpose. And nobody can take your place. You might have impersonators and everything else, but they'll never take your place. That's right. God's Word will triumph. It cannot fail.

There's where every Christian ought to stand, knowing that--that... And trials will come up and seem every way to you. But remember, God has a purpose, and it all will work right.

WHEN NOAH, ON THE REPROACH OF THE WORD THAT GOD SPOKE TO HIM...

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

14-3    When Noah, on the reproach of the Word that God spoke to him... Noah, there was a reproach. Noah lived in a scientific age, where there was a scientific achievement that they were able to manufacture that were beyond anything that we've manufactured today. They were brighter, more intelligent. Their science was far advanced to ours. And just remember, he had to stand the reproach of the Word that he preached a hundred and twenty years in the face of scoffers. Their great scientific ways proved to them that there was no rain in the skies. But yet, Noah had heard the Word of the Lord, and It was contrary to their conception of it. So before his life could be saved, he must stand in the face and bear the reproach that these scoffers reproached him by.

*IF YOUR DOCTOR SAYS THAT YOU HAVE CANCER, YOU GOT TO DIE, AND THE SCIENCE PROVES THAT YOU GOT CANCER …..LIKE IT WAS, YOU HAVE TO STAND THAT REPROACH.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

15-2    Now, they have the same idea today. If your doctor says that you have cancer, you got to die, and the science proves that you got cancer, and it's in an advanced stage; it's silly to think anything different, because you're going to die. That's all. Science says you're going to die. They've examined you, and that's all of it. You're going to die. And they think it's crazy if you try to say that God promised to do it.

See, like it was, you have to stand that reproach. They say if the doctor says here, "We looked through, and the cancer is advanced. We've opened you up; it's all through your body, through your heart, through your lungs, through your liver, all over. It's impossible."

*THAT'S WHAT MAKES HIM GOD

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

18-2    Now, they feel sorry for us; feel sorry for anybody that tries to hold to the Word in the days of scoffers. But remember, the reproach must come. It's always been that way. They must've thought, as they did then, that God, after anything was scientifically proven, that God wouldn't speak anything that was against science. Well, that's what makes Him God. If He just went according to science, then it wouldn't be no more than what man could achieve. But He's God. He's a--He's a Creator of science. He can do what He wishes to.

They must've thought, "Poor old Noah, why, let the old fellow alone. He's missing all the fun that we're having in these days, so just let him alone." It's about the same now.

*WE LOOK BACK AND ADMIRE HIS FAITH. BUT I WONDER IF WE LIVED IN THAT DAY, WOULD WE HAVE TOOK THE SAME STAND THAT NOAH TOOK?

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

18-4    But now, I want to say another thing right here. Now, we look back and admire his faith. But I wonder if we lived in that day, would we have took the same stand that Noah took? Would we be able and willing to stand the reproach that went with the truth? When of all the millions there was in the world then, there was only Noah and his family that stood for that truth. Did you think of it? Just that man and his three sons, and his daughter-in-laws, his wife was the only one that stood for that truth; but they had THUS SAITH THE LORD. We look back and admire him.

*AND WHEN HE WAS A HUNDRED YEARS OLD, HE NEVER STAGGERED AT THE PROMISE OF GOD. HE STILL STOOD THE REPROACH, SURE, HOLDING ON TO IT.

Now, Abraham heard the Word of God. Abraham was a prophet, and he heard the Word of God. And we admire Abraham for his holding to God's Word: how that he separated himself from his kinfolks. How hard it was for Abraham; He was brought up there. Come down from Babel and--and was down there in the Land of the Shinar, the--the Chaldeans and the city of Ur, where all of his associates, his people, and those he went to church with, and everything.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

18-6    But God said, "Separate yourself." Oh, my. What a horrible thing that was to leave all that he held dear, everything that was real to him, that he held dear; and God told him, "Separate yourself." And give him a very odd thing, "You're going to have a baby by your wife." And he was seventy-five and she was sixty-five. It ceased to be with her as women, as of for order of women was going to bring children, for years.

…It's a reproach, but Abraham held on to it. And when he was a hundred years old, he never staggered at the promise of God. He still stood the reproach, sure, holding on to it.

YOU SEE, WE ALWAYS TRY TO DO SOMETHING, CAN'T WAIT FOR HIM. WE GOT TO DO SOMETHING OURSELF.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

19-4    ….. That'll help God, 'cause Hagar, here, she's probably only twenty years old; she's my maid. And you know what I'll do? I'll give her to my husband for a wife," 'cause polygamy was legal. So he said, "I'll give her, and she'll have a baby by my husband; and then I'll take the baby, and that's the one God promised."

You see, we always try to do something, can't wait for Him. We got to do something ourself. Might've been all right. She might've been pretty. It might look very good. But it wasn't according to the Word. God told Abraham the baby was coming by Sarah.

Remember what He said about the little flock, "These signs will follow them that believe. As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the coming of the Son of man," wherein a few, even eight souls were saved. Those words can't fail. So let's watch ourselves closely and stay with the Word.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

19-7    All right. See, the people are always trying to manufacture something to take the place of God's creative will. You see, as I've often said and maybe before the church before. You know, you could not ask the sheep, "Will you manufacture me some wool?" No, he can't do that. Now, a goat cannot manufacture wool, because his nature won't let him. No matter how much you try to tie sheep wool on a goat, it won't work. The goat cannot manufacture wool. And a sheep does not manufacture hair; but he has wool because he is a sheep. That's what makes him; he don't manufacture.

We're not supposed to manufacture the fruits of the Spirit. We're supposed to bear the fruit of the Spirit. Apple tree don't manufacture apples; it just bears it, because it's an apple tree.

And we try to manufacture anything: "I'll help the cause. I'll study for ten years in the seminary. I'll learn this, that, or the other, and get my Bachelor of Art and my Doctor's degree. I'll help the Lord along." It won't work. God by predestination  calls who He will.

*THEY DON'T KNOW THE PROGRAM OF GOD. YOU MUST FIND OUT WHAT GOD HAS PROMISED.

Now, watch. The manufacture something to take the place of His Word. Maybe Abraham's friends too (if we ever noticed), maybe Abraham's friends come by and said, "Well, Father of Nations, how many children you have now?" when he was a hundred years old. "Say, Father of Nations, Father of Many, how many children do you have now?" Scoffers.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

21-7    Now, haven't you seen the time? Haven't we seen it when sometimes that we prayed for something, it didn't happen? Here sets an old man, and they say, "He's blind; he's deaf; he's dumb; he's sick; he's done this. Go down and heal him you Divine healers; we'll believe it."

Do they realize it's that same devil that said, "Come off the cross, and I'll believe you." "Turn these stones into bread, and I'll believe it." See? That same devil that tied a rag around our Lord's eyes, and hit Him on the head with a stick, and said, "Now, if you're a prophet, tell us who hit you, and we'll believe you."

Why, you know He knowed who hit Him. He could've turned those stones to bread, or He could've come off the cross. But what would we be today if He had? See, they don't know the program of God. You must find out what God has promised.

*THAT'S THE REPROACH OF THE WORD.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

22-3    Now, I must hurry. Now--now, they might have said, "Father of Nations, we heard you twenty-five years ago say you was going to have a child by Sarah, and--and out of that was going to come nations of people. Just how many children do you have at this time, Father of Nations?" See, see? That's that same old critical spirit that would criticize. What did Abraham? Said, "He staggered not at the promise of unbelief."

"Why, here you prayed for so-and-so, and they didn't get well." That doesn't matter. If I prayed for ten thousand tonight, and ten thousand die in the morning, tomorrow night I'd still anoint the sick and praying for them. God said so: doesn't stop it a bit. God promised it; I believe it. Certainly. Don't make any difference what they say.

Still--but they'll scoff. That's the reproach of the Word. Abraham standing on God's Word--finally It was fulfilled. Oh, my.

BUT THEY HAD TO STAND THAT FIRST, AND THEN (HALLELUJAH.) GOD KEPT HIS WORD IN THAT DARK HOUR.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

22-5    Watch the scoffness of barrenness, being scoffed, the reproach of barrenness first. They had... She had to stand the reproach of being barren for all those years. She was nearly a hundred years old... She was ninety. But the Word of God that said she would also be princess--a mother of this child. And she and Abraham barren, both of their bodies as well as dead, but yet they never doubted that Word one bit. But they had to stand that first, and then (Hallelujah.) God kept His Word in that dark hour. Isaac was born, and his seed is like the sands of the sea or the stars of heaven. See, God always answers His Word. Yes, barrenness first then Isaac.

*YOU SEPARATE YOURSELF FROM EVERYTHING BUT YOU AND GOD.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

23-2    Refusing popularity, refusing popular opinion, refuse the polish of the day and the styles and things of their day. They refused it. They refused to walk with the crowd of unbelievers. They refused the things of the world. They had to do it to stay with God's Word: had to do it.

So is it today. You separate yourself from everything but you and God. It's not what the church does; it's what you do with God, you as an individual.

2Ti 3:1  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2Ti 3:2  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2Ti 3:3  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2Ti 3:4  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2Ti 3:5  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2Ti 3:6  For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

Heb 10:33  Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
Heb 10:34  For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
Heb 10:35  Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
Heb 10:36  For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Jer 20:10  For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.
Jer 20:11  But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.
Jer 20:12  But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause.
Jer 20:13  Sing unto the LORD, praise ye the LORD: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.

Rom 15:2  Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
Rom 15:3  For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
Rom 15:4  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Rom 15:5  Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
Rom 15:6  That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Pe 4:12  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
1Pe 4:13  But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
1Pe 4:14  If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
1Pe 4:15  But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.
1Pe 4:16  Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
1Pe 4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
1Pe 4:18  And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
1Pe 4:19  Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

23-0901A_GOD MAKING HIS PROMISE PT-2(Truly Love & Believe Him with All your Heart)

23-0901A_GOD MAKING HIS PROMISE PT-2(Truly Love & Believe Him with All your Heart)

Joh 1:29  The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Joh 1:30  This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

Joh 1:31  And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

Joh 1:32  And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

Joh 1:33  And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

Jer 31:3  The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
Jer 31:4  Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.

Job 32:8  But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

Php 4:13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Php 4:14  Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.

Jos 22:5  But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his
commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Jos 22:6  So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away: and they went unto their tents.
Joh 16:27  For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

1Jn 3:1  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1Jn 3:2  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

*AND AS LONG AS YOU HAVE THE PROMISE OF GOD THAT SAYS IT, REGARDLESS OF WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES LOOK LIKE, BELIEVE IT ANYHOW FOR GOD SAID SO.

JEHOVAH.JIREH_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209E

E-28    Now, we find Abraham last night, believing God and calling those things which were not as though they were, because God said so. And as long as you have the promise of God that says it, regardless of what circumstances look like, believe it anyhow for God said so. And if you are the children of Abraham, not the children of the church now, the children of the denomination, but the children of Abraham, you believe God's promises, every one of them, regardless of what someone else would say about it. You believe His promises are true.

*BUT GOD HAS ALWAYS THROUGH ALL TIMES, NOT BY--NOT BY LAWS OR ACTIONS, BUT ALWAYS THROUGH GRACE HAS HAD A WAY FOR HEALING FOR HIS PEOPLE.

JEHOVAH.JIREH_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209E

E-31    And he went and killed the animals, and cut them in two, laid piece to piece. But the turtledoves, he did not separate or the pigeons. If we just had time to go into that, the turtledove is represents Divine healing. The atonement changed. The--the time changed the law from grace. But God has always through all times, not by--not by laws or actions, but always through grace has had a way for healing for His people. The brass serpent, the pool at the Bethesda, all the way He's always had a healing atonement for His people.

*BUT WITHOUT THE SHEPHERD, YOU'RE LOST AND YOU'RE ONLY FIGHTING THE WIND.

GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209A

E-23    And that's just exactly what the human race is. We are absolutely, totally lost and can--we're not sufficient in ourselves. We've got to have the Shepherd to lead us and to guide us. We are lost without it.
We cannot save ourselves. No matter how good your program may be. No matter what kind of a motive you have towards that program, what--what is your alternatives, or why--how great your church is, that's all fine, nothing against it; but without the Shepherd, you're lost and you're only fighting the wind. True. You must have the Shepherd.
And the church is wonderful, every denomination. But without the Shepherd of the flock, you're just building your church in vain. You're rejecting the very Cornerstone.

AS HE LOOKED UP TO GOD, IT WAS RECKONED UNTO HIM FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS, BECAUSE THAT HE KNEW THIS INNOCENT LAMB WAS TAKING HIS GUILTY PLACE.

GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209A

E-27    Now, men under the slaying of the lamb could never be saved. He was only expressing his faith looking for the time to come when the Lamb itself would come.
Now, the old worshiper, he took the lamb, and he went when he done sin, he went to the priest and the lamb was slain. And he laid his hands upon the lamb as it was dying, and the little fellow kicking and bleating, and the blood spurting over his hand, and he felt the life going out of the lamb. As he looked up to God, it was reckoned unto him for righteousness, because that he knew this innocent lamb was taking his guilty place. There must be...
The antidote is the innocent for the guilty. That's the only way. Not good works could never save you. It can never. So the man realizing that the lamb took his place in death... Now, that the worshiper went back out again with the same desire in his heart to sin that he had when he come in the first time. Why? It didn't... The life--the blood has life.

*THE CHURCH NEEDS TO BE CLEANED OUT AND GET PEOPLE BACK TO GOD AGAIN WHERE THEY COME IN CONTACT WITH THE MATE, CHRIST JESUS.

GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209A

E-30    That's what's the matter with our so-called Christian churches. We've got a bunch of people, and patted them on the back, and put their name on the book, and we've hugged them, and kissed them, and babied them around like this and patted them around. It's a nest full of rotten eggs. The church needs to be cleaned out and get people back to God again where they come in contact with the Mate, Christ Jesus.
No matter how good he is, or how much he pays in the collection, or whatever it is, if he hasn't been in contact with Christ and been born again, it's a rotten egg in the church. I don't mean that for a vile expression. I only mean it to point out to you a truth. That's right.

*BEAUTIFUL CHRIST THAT BACKS UP EVERY WORD THAT HE SAID.

GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209A

E-33    All right. You might separate from your friends here for awhile, but you're in the Presence of God. See? Separation from God is eternal death, so you're gone forever. But you can no more die. "He that heareth My words and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath Everlasting Life and shall not come into the judgment, but is passed from death unto Life."
Oh, what a beautiful Bible that we have, and not only a beautiful Bible, but a beautiful Christ that backs up every word that He said. That's right.

* GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD WHEN THEY WERE UNLOVABLE

GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209A

E-34    Now, as the lamb was presented and the dove presented... Now, the dove is the meekest of all the birds that fly in the heaven. There's nothing like the dove. The dove is a lover. The dove coos in the evening. How I've listened to the old dove a many time. There's nothing more beautiful than to hear the dove in the evening cooing, the turtledove.
I remember when I lost my wife, when I was just a young Baptist preacher. I went out to the grave every evening, and I'd set down out there as the sun went down. And seemed like this big, old dove must have knew that I was sad. He would come there and set up in the bush. And as the sun was setting and the wind blowing through the trees, he would coo to me. Nothing more consoling, hardly, to hear a dove in the evening, cooing it's sweet message. It's a lover.
God is a lover. God is love. God so loved the world when they were unlovable, that He gave His Son to make them lovable. And God... Here it is. God wants to come down and make love to you. He's seeking, thirsting, hungering, trying to get to some of your starchy hearts to make love to you, as a love affair: not a law, but a love. It's all in love. God so loved.

IF YOU'LL JUST GET GOD IN THE HEART, YOU CAN SEE HIM EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK.
Now, the dove... I've studied doves, studied animals, was game warden for years and still live in the woods when I can. And now, studying of animals, you can find God. If you'll just get God in the heart, you can see Him everywhere you look. He's just everywhere. He's omnipresent, everywhere.

***IT'S GOD IN YOU, CHANGING YOUR NATURE AND DESIRE.

GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209A

E-37    Now, that's the difference... A--sometime you take an old crow-natured man or woman, they'll go out into the roadhouses, and pool rooms, and all kinds of places of devices, and hoop and holler and carry on, and come back to church, and act the very same way. Right.
But a real, borned again Christian cannot tolerate the things of the world. If you love the world or the things of the world... Now, I mean not by a law, saying, "I know I shouldn't do that." That isn't it. It's God in you, changing your nature and desire. Certainly. There's the difference.
*THEN WHEN YOU TRULY LOVE GOD AND BELIEVE HIM WITH ALL YOUR HEART, THAT'S--THAT'S IT.

GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209A

E-38    Not while you're trying to impersonate that. If you are, you're still a crow. That's right. You've got to get your nature changed to make your desires change. Then when you truly love God and believe Him with all your heart, that's--that's it. When you do anything wrong, you feel the tears of repentance rolling down your cheeks. You can't stand it. You have to go back. You lay on your face before Father and say, "God, You know I didn't mean to do that." And you'll stay right there until it's settled with God forever. That's right.

Eph 6:23  Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Eph 6:24  Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. To the Ephesians written from Rome, by Tychicus.

23-0828P_REPROACH FOR THE CAUSE OF THE WORD

23-0828P_REPROACH FOR THE CAUSE OF THE WORD

Psa 89:50  Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;

Psa 89:51  Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O LORD; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.

Psa 89:52  Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.

GOD HAS A TIME AND A REASON FOR THAT TIME TO FULFILL ALL HIS WORK.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

11-2    God has a time and a reason for that time to fulfill all His work. God knows just exactly what He's going to do. We don't. We just have to receive It as He gives It to us. But He knows, and there's nothing going to go wrong with what He--He's planned to do. It's all has to come about. There has to be sometimes rugged and hard things to only bring out the real true nature of the object.

You know, rain is born in a jagged, ragged, lightning strowed, thundering skies. And if we didn't have rain, we wouldn't live. But you see what it takes to bring rain? Thunder, lightning, flashing, anger; and out of there comes rain.
A seed must die, rot, corrupt, smell, and go back to the dust of the earth in order to bring forth new life.

It takes the pounding of gold, turned over and over, back and forth, and pounded until all the dross is taken out of it. Not because it shines, 'cause iron pyrite, what is known as fool's gold, shines like real gold; but you put the two together... You set them out to one side, you can hardly tell them apart; but put them together, you can tell it. And the beater always has to beat till he--he sees his own image reflecting in the gold.

AND GOD SETS A TIME AND HAS A PURPOSE FOR EVERYTHING THAT HE DOES.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

11-6    And God sets a time and has a purpose for everything that He does. There's nothing happens just accidentally to those who love the Lord and are called according to His calling. See, we are predestinated. And everything works just right for that; because He cannot lie, and He said that was so, that everything has its time, its season, and it has its way; and God is behind every move. And sometimes you think that everything's going wrong. It's up to us. Those things are put upon us, trials and wonderings; it's testing to see how we will react on a action.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

11-7    Some time ago in--up in Vermont, Brother Fred and I went over on the New York side, across the Lake Champlain. And we had got over on the New York side, and I went up in a mountain where that--up on the Hurricane Mountain, where I used to hunt. And there, I remember when I was lost, and how that God would--led me back just by the Holy Spirit alone through a storm that... I'd have died, perished, and so would my wife and Billy down in a little camp miles away. And I was turned around.
And there was just a little snow we pulled through to get into the camp early in the spring. And I was standing there talking to Brother Fred, and the Holy Spirit said, "Go out to yourself," and I moved out into the bush a little place, and He told me, "There's a trap set for you. Be careful now." But He didn't tell me how or what.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

12-2    I come back and told Brother Fred, went to the church that night in the auditorium and announced it to the people, and the next night it happened. And then standing there when He told me upon some mockers. He said, "It's in your hands. Do with them; whatever you say will happen right now."
There you are. For somebody irreverent, ungodly, and they were making fun and scoffing at the meeting, a young man and a young woman. And he was trying to--vulgar love make with her in the building, and everybody's attention while I was trying to preach. He'd pull her head back and climb up in her lap, and throw her head back and try to kiss her, and going on like that in the meeting, drawing the attention.

And the Holy Spirit said, "Now, he's--they're in your hands. What will you do with them?" There was a holy hush. Everybody set deathly quiet. And I thought, "O God, what must I do?"

Then I remembered if it happened in the warning of the Holy Spirit two days before. I said, "I forgive you."

Now, that was what He wanted me to say. See, because after all, I--I've been guilty, maybe not of that, but I--I--guilty. And guilty of the least is of the whole. So I said, "I forgive you." And there's witnesses setting here now was there then. Then the Holy Spirit fell through.

***THE WORD HAS ALWAYS BORE A REPROACH. ALL THROUGH THE AGES, GOD'S ANOINTED WORD HAS ALWAYS BEEN REPROACHED,

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

12-7    Now, you see, I believe that all these things had a meaning. What would you do with the power? How would you... See, the reaction of an action, something that is come as an act, then how do you react to that action? Do you understand what I mean? What would you do? And maybe all of this has worked up to where we're at now. I don't know. I--I just can't say.

But there's always been some way... And remember, that the reproach of--of the Word has... The Word has always bore a reproach. All through the ages, God's anointed Word has always been reproached, and that's the reason it's so hard for people who doesn't understand would know how to accept that reproach.

* AND TRIALS WILL COME UP AND SEEM EVERY WAY TO YOU. BUT REMEMBER, GOD HAS A PURPOSE, AND IT ALL WILL WORK RIGHT.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

13-4    Now, let's just call back a few of the events of God's Word being fulfilled, and those who packed the Word in their age.
I--I felt in the Spirit, not long ago, that someone was criticizing (It might've been in the tape-land.) of always referring so much--go back and pick up Bible characters on what I'm saying. Well, I do that for a purpose. The Bible said these things are written that we might look at them. And that's the only way, without an education, the only way I can do is refer back and say, "You see where this stand, what had happened by it; where this one taken place," See? And then you just place yourself in there.

… THE LITTLE BOY OUT ON THE SHIP, YOU KNOW, AND--AND THE OLD CAPTAIN WAS DYING; HE WAS SICK.

THE.REPROACH.FOR.THE.CAUSE.OF.THE.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-16  SUNDAY_  62-1223

13-6    Like I was preaching not long ago on the little boy out on the ship, you know, and--and the old captain was dying; he was sick. And he asked if there wasn't a Bible on board. And they caught the little boy that had the Bible, and he come and read Isaiah 53:5. "He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquity." and he said, "Let the--let me tell you, Captain, how that my mother used to read it." Said, "Here's the way she wrote it. 'He was wounded for Willy Pruitt's iniquity; and He was chastised for Willy Pruitt, and all these things that He was done was for Willy Pruitt." (That was his name.)

The old captain said, "I like that. Could you read my name in it?"
He said, "I'll try." And he said, "He was wounded for John Quartz' transgressions. He was bruised for John Quartz' iniquity, and with His stripes John Quartz was healed."

He said, "I see it." And the Lord healed him.
See, read your name in it. He was wounded for William Branham's transgressions. He was bruised for William Branham's iniquity. He did that for me and He did that for you. Read your name into it.

Heb 11:23  By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.

Heb 11:24  By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;

Heb 11:25  Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

Heb 11:26  Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

Heb 11:27  By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Heb 11:28  Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

Heb 11:33  Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

Heb 11:34  Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

Heb 11:35  Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

Heb 11:36  And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:

Heb 11:37  They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;

Heb 11:38  (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

Heb 11:39  And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

23-0825A_GOD MAKING HIS PROMISE

Joh 1:29  The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Joh 1:30  This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

Joh 1:31  And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

***BUT WHEN YOUR SPIRIT BEARS RECORD WITH HIS SPIRIT, AND YOUR LIFE COMPARES WITH GOD'S BIBLE…

E-14    And Abraham was just an ordinary man just like you and I, and he wasn't any extra good man, reason that God called him, but God called Abraham by election…..

E-15    Now, you can be a mentally worked up or emotionally worked up and just imagine your faith, but when your spirit bears record with His Spirit, and your life compares with God's Bible, you've got a pretty good conception it's all as at peace. That's right, but if it don't compare with that, then you better come back again. See? If you don't love Him with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, if sin doesn't just make you tremble at the thoughts of it, you'd better come back (see?) and be sure. No matter…

ABRAHAM_ 56-1208

WE'RE--WE ARE ALREADY BOUGHT. THE PRICE IS PAID FOR. NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.

You might've danced in the Spirit. You might've spoke with tongues. You might've put your name on every church book in this city. You might've been baptized three times forward, backward, sprinkled. That won't have one thing to do with it, not one thing. You've got to be borned again (See?), something that takes place, a regeneration, and you become a new creation. Old things is passed away, and all things become new. You're a new look on everything. The birds sing different. Your enemies that you once couldn't stand, you love them. See? You really love them, and everything's changed. Then you know you've passed from death unto Life.

E-16    Now, not by keeping a code, not keeping creeds, not doing this: not by good works are we saved but by His grace, His mercy. We're--we are already bought. The price is paid for. Nothing you can do about it. You can no more save yourself than a leopard could cleanse his spots. All the washing and going through would just make them brighter. Yes, sir. It's a work of God. You never chose God and never did seek God. God seeks you. It's against human nature.

ABRAHAM. 56-1208

GOD KNOWS JUST EXACTLY WHAT HE'S GOING TO DO.

1-2    God has a time and a reason for that time to fulfill all His work.

WE FIRST WE HAVE TO THINK OF THIS THAT EVERY--EVERY WORD OF GOD IS TRUE.

GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209A

E-12    I would not want to say that they were not Christians. We have no way to judge that. And God is the sole Judge of who is Christian and who's not. And we can only judge ourselves as we weigh ourself in God's bowels (That is His Word.) and see how our life compares with what His requirements is, and our desires towards that, our attitude towards what He has required us to do. So noticing that, this came on my mind: Why did the people who had the Holy Spirit in their heart would drift away from God?
Now, we first we have to think of this that every--every word of God is true. We cannot say that God's Word is not true.

YOUR FAITH DOES IT AND THEN YOUR LIFE PROVES WHETHER YOU RECEIVED IT OR NOT.

GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209A

E-16    But I've noticed that His Word, how that He always keeps His Word to the person. Now, if truly you have received Christ, then there's nothing can take that away from you. It's a gift of God: Eternal Life. Now, that is, if Christ has received you. And if Christ gave you Eternal Life here and lost you down here, and Him infinite, knowing all things, He defeats His own work: He saved you when He knowed He was going to lose you, 'cause He... So He doesn't do that. See?
And so, it behooves us as believers, to really not go upon some mental conception or upon some emotion, or some fantastic of something happened: "We did this or did that." For the devil can impersonate all those things. But the only way that we'll know that we're saved is when we've met God's conditions. See, see? You're never saved by your feelings; you're saved by your faith. See? You're always saved by faith. Your faith does it and then your life proves whether you received it or not.

CHRISTIANITY IS SOMETHING THAT HAS TO COME FROM THE HEART.

GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209A

E-17    ….. Christianity is something that has to come from the heart. Jesus speaking to the Pharisees, said, "Ye hypocrites, how can you say good things when out of the abundance of the heart speaketh the mouth?" Then if the heart thought one thing and the mouth spoke something else, it becomes hypocrisy. See?
We must from our heart express exactly how we feel. We must--we must express it from our heart. And if we can't express the right thing, then keep still. Don't say nothing about it.

And now, if the church ever gets to practicing that, they'll have--they might have fewer members for a while, but they'll have better members while they're having it. God grant the day that when every man or woman will be and express just what they are.

*GOD KEEPS HIS WORD. HE'S GIVE US THE WORD FOR PATTERN.

GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209A

E-18    If I didn't believe in God, I'd be here this afternoon against Him. And if I'm for Him, He's more than my life. I'd--I'd give my life for Him. See? 'Cause if it's a worthy purpose, it's worthy to live with, live for and die for. That's right. It's Christ. Now, He's--He's... Either He is the living Christ or He is not the living Christ.
This Bible is either the truth or It is not the truth. You never did see a black, white bird at the same time. You never seen a drunk, sober man at the same time. You never seen a sinner, saint at the same time. See? You don't see that. You're--you're on one side of the fence. God keeps His Word. He's give us the Word for pattern.

*BUT GOD IS OBLIGATED TO HIS WORD.

GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE_  BROOKLYN.NY  SUNDAY_  56-1209A

E-19    In our lesson last night, where we'll take up again tonight, the Lord willing, on Abraham, how He gave him a promise when was just a--at seventy-five years old and Sarah sixty-five; what they were going to have, this baby... And he waited twenty-five years before God ever fulfilled that promise.
But God is obligated to His Word. You're obligated to your word. If you profess to be a Christian, you're obligated to live a Christian life. As long as you're going to church and professing to be a Christian, you're obligated. If you don't, then you're--you're--the people can't trust you.

*GOD'S WILL IS PERFECT. AND EVERYTHING WILL FALL RIGHT INTO ITS PLACE IF YOU'LL STAY IN GOD'S WILL.

And never will a church fail, never will a program fail as long as those who are in charge stay in the center of God's will. God's will is perfect. And everything will fall right into its place if you'll stay in God's will. But get out of God's will here, it throws the whole program out. Just one place, you remember Achan's wedge.
Now, just have to move out in one place. If you see you're out, go back and repent for that, make it right. You can never go no farther till you make that thing right. You've got to come square and straight with God.

Joh 14:21  He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

23-0821P_FOREKNOWN

23-0821P_FOREKNOWN

Rom 8:11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Rom 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Rom 8:29  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Rom 8:30  Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Rom 8:31  What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

EXPECTATION_  PHOENIX.AZ  SUNDAY_  54-0228A

If you believe in Divine healing, the power of God, before there can... There's something created that desire in your heart. Is that right? Before there could be a creation, there has to be a Creator to create that creation. Is that right? There you are.

And when the Holy Ghost created in your heart a desire to see the power of God work in this city here, there's got to be a power of God somewhere, who will break down the shackles and come in with the powers of God move for healing, salvation, the pouring out of the Holy Spirit on everybody, the way we're expecting it. God's wonders, by His Holy Spirit, that we see these things, and we're living in the day to see them. We're expecting to see it: deep calling to the deep.

THE.EASTER.SEAL_  PHOENIX.AZ  V-2 N-6  SATURDAY_  65-0410

63      And then when the Holy Spirit come, and you're on earth, walking around here as a sinner, way down in your life there is something. You don't know what's taking place, but you're hungry. I heard the Presbyterian brother; I heard the--the Baptist talking about, back there, he was a--a Freewill Baptist, preaching where he can. My fellow brother, that you, there's something in you, something that you never put in there. It's something that you couldn't desire to be in there. It's something that's contrary to your own nature. It's the foreknowledge of God, taking place, God's Word.

64      And Jesus was born the Son of God, to be Emmanuel, God's full expression in a Man. And He found Him in perfect obedience, down at the River of Jordan, being baptized by that prophet. And as soon as He obeyed Him, and walked out of the water, the Heavens opened to John. And he saw the Holy Ghost descending from Heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son." See? Perfect obedience, the Spirit had sought Him out, in obedience.

WHO.IS.THIS.MELCHISEDEC_  JEFF.IN  V-5 N-10  SUNDAY_  65-0221E

80    Here we are formed to the Word image, to be a partaker of the Word, feed on the Word, by being predestinated since the beginning; you see that little spark of Life that you had in you from the beginning, when you started your journey. Many of you can remember it. You joined this church and joined that church, you'd try this and that; nothing satisfied. That's right. But one day you just recognized It. Right.

1Co 15:51  Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1Co 15:52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1Co 15:53  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

1Co 15:54  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1Co 15:55  O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

1Co 15:56  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

1Co 15:57  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Co 15:58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
