26-0629P_PERSEVERANCE PT-3 (THE LONG-SUFFERING OF OUR LORD IS SALVATION)

Mat 15:21  Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.

Mat 15:22  And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

Mat 15:23  But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

Mat 15:24  But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Mat 15:25  Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

Mat 15:26  But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.

Mat 15:27  And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

Mat 15:28  Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

2Pe 3:15  And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

Eph 4:1  I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Eph 4:2  With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Eph 4:3  Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Eph 4:4  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

Col 1:10  That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Col 1:11  Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
Col 1:12  Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Col 1:13  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Col 1:14  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Col 3:12  Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Col 3:13  Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Col 3:14  And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
Col 3:15  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Col 3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Col 3:17  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

1Ti 1:14  And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
1Ti 1:15  This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
1Ti 1:16  Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

2Ti 4:2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

*GOD RECOMMENDS THIS FOR HIS BELIEVING CHILDREN...UNTIL YOU DO THAT, SCREAM OUT TILL YOU GET IT. I LIKE THAT, PERSISTENT, HOLDING ON.

GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY.FOR.THIS.DAY_  BAKF.CA  V-22 N-6  THURSDAY_  64-0206E

  51      God recommends this for His children. God recommends this for His believing children. He did. Not intellectual speeches, not some great theology, theology to teach. He wants you to cry for your needs. And that's right, cry out for it! You're too stiff and starchy, you'll never get it. If you are ready to limber yourself up a little, and cry, God will give it to you. He likes to hear His children cry. Cry your needs to God! God wants it. That's His provided way. Cry out for it! That's the way the baby cries; that's the way He wants you to cry.

"Cry how long?"

52    How long does a baby cry? Until he gets satisfied. And that's the way the believing Christian should do, God's child. If you see that God made the promise, don't give it up, cry till it's answered. Cry till you see God vindicates His Word. When God vindicates His Word, and proves it's here, then you don't have to cry no more; you got it, walk away and thank Him for it. Until you do that, scream out till you get it. I like that, persistent, holding on.

53    Not a hybrid plant, not one that has to be babied and petted, and packed around. Christians are real, genuine, born, articles of God. They fight for their position, and fight till they're finished on this earth. Every move of it is a fight.

*COME WITH A DETERMINATION. COME THAT YOU'RE GOING TO STAY THERE TILL IT'S OVER.

GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY.FOR.THIS.DAY_  BAKF.CA  V-22 N-6  THURSDAY_  64-0206E

  54      God told Moses He give him the land. He told Joshua, "Every place the foot, or sole of your foot, treads, that I have given you." They had to fight for every inch of it. So do we fight for every inch of it. It isn't something to be babied and petted, and around like that, and say, "Well, I'll take you over there, see what you think about it. You pass your opinion." That's no way to come.

55    Come with a determination. Come that you're going to stay there till it's over. Stay there till God answers and vindicates. A man that believes in God, can see the Presence of God, feel the Presence of God, sense the Presence of God, and know He's here. He is here to answer everything that He made promise for in this day. Then, cry till you get it! Hold onto Him. Don't leave, if you have to stay day and night. God don't want His children to listen to intellectual speeches. He wants them to cry out to It, till the promise is vindicated.

*YOU MIGHT NOT FEEL LIKE DOING ANYTHING. BUT YOUR FAITH DON'T HAVE NO HINDRANCE. IT MOVES ON ANYHOW.

PERSEVERANCE_  CHICAGO.IL  SUNDAY_  62-0520

  E-43    .....You might have some. I have plenty of them, lot of hindrances. But about your faith, that's the thing. If you can't be persistent, if you're going to let everything hinder you. Now, physically, you might feel bad. Physically you might not feel well. And otherwise, you might not feel like do--going to church. You might not feel like doing anything. But your faith don't have no hindrance. It moves on anyhow.

Maybe your pastor prayed for you, anointed you with oil. That's what he's supposed to do. And you go back and say, "Pastor, I don't feel any better." Oh, my. You're not... You oughtn't to have come up in the first place. See? See, you're going by your feelings. But your faith, if you've got faith.....

If you've got faith in God and faith in the prayer, then go on anyhow. There's nothing going to stop it. See? Why? You got faith. You believe it. Faith don't have any hindrances.

*A LITTLE LADY--THIS WAS ONE THAT HAD THE HANDKERCHIEF...AND THIS LADY WAS CLEANING A LAMP CHIMNEY, AND SHE BROKE THE CHIMNEY OVER HER ARM; IT CUT THE VEINS OR ARTERIES, WHAT IT WAS IN HER WRIST.

GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY_.  CONNERSVILLE.IN  SATURDAY_  53-0613

  E-1a    .....After I got started in the evangelistic work out this way for the--our Lord, was at Corning, Arkansas. And I used to tell the folks, well just bring your handkerchiefs up now, and I'll pray over them. Now, many people anoint them. That's all right. That's fine. Anything God will bless, I'm right for it. And--but now, if you'll watch the Scripture, they didn't anoint the handkerchiefs, they just took off the body of Paul, handkerchiefs or aprons. So they was... I told the people; I said, "Now, if you got a handkerchief, why let us pray over it, and sometime, maybe, the baby might get the colic or something--and way back out in these thickets and swamps out here."

So one night, a little lady had come in and got a handkerchief. I said, "Now, if you don't--if you're not going to use it right at the present time," I said, "put it in the Bible on Acts the 19th chapter where there's--the Scripture for it's at." For an...?...

GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY_.  CONNERSVILLE.IN  SATURDAY_  53-0613

  E-1c    So I remember one night, a little lady--this was one that had the handkerchief. She lived way back in the rural district, her husband a farmer. And she was cleaning an old lamp chimney...

GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY_.  CONNERSVILLE.IN  SATURDAY_  53-0613

  E-1d    And this lady was cleaning a lamp chimney, and she broke the chimney over her arm; it cut the veins or arteries, what it was in her wrist. Well, as the old superstition (you know), cobwebs, they usually get them, and that's just a superstition, like tearing a chicken open for a snakebite. And so they put the cobweb on it, and 'course, the blood spurting up, it just washed the cobweb away. Well, she wrapped something around it, and a--a bed sheet and it bled it wet. So she was getting weak, and her first closest neighbor is two miles or more. And her husband had gone to city to get a stuff for their own--for their table, and for the animals on the farm. And she was bleeding to death, and she knew she was going to die in a little while, if something didn't help her. She runs out, happens to think about that handkerchief.

GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY_.  CONNERSVILLE.IN  SATURDAY_  53-0613

  E-1e    Now, this is her story. I can't say this. See? I'm only--I'm only taking her word. But she run in there, and she grabbed this handkerchief, and she said, "Dear God, my life lays within Your hand. If You don't help me, I--I'm going to die. And this is--was give to me for this purpose. And now I--I lay it on my arm in the Name of--of Jesus, Your Son. And the blood stopped.

She walked about two mile after her husband got home, wearing big old boots through the muddy rice fields, and so forth. And she hung her lantern up in a tree, and flagged a Greyhound bus, and rode about hundred and something miles to Little Rock where the service was held that night. Come in holding that handkerchief up, not even stained, and showing the place where the cut was. "Faith cometh by hearing, hearing of the Word."
