25-1229P_LIFE PT-6 (GOD'S PROVIDED WAY IN OUR GENERATION)

Gen 7:7  And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood. 

Gen 7:8  Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth, 

Mat 4:4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 

*GOD HAS A WAY FOR TODAY, FOR HE'S ALWAYS MADE A WAY FOR EVERYTHING.

  7      I want to speak just for the next few minutes now on: God's Provided Way For This Day.

8    God always has had a way. There is two ways, that's, our ways or His ways. God has a way for today, for He's always made a way for everything. God, at the beginning, knowed the end, so He has laid out His Scripture for each age. And that age, when it comes along... Now don't fail to see this. That age, when it comes along, usually the ministry is so mixed up in isms, and so forth, and traditions, till it's a million miles away from the Word.

 

*AND THEN GOD ALWAYS SENDS SOMEONE ON THE SCENE, A PROPHET. GOD NEVER CHANGES HIS SYSTEM. HE NEVER CHANGES HIS WAYS. 

9    And then God always sends someone on the scene, a prophet. And this prophet... God never changes His system. He never changes His ways. He always does it the same way. He always has; He must do it this time. And, through this, God works and vindicates that Word. As I spoke to you last night, God doing His own interpretation. God needs no one to interpret the Word to Him. He interprets It Himself, by vindicating It, making It real. And when God says He'll do a certain thing, then He does it, there is no more question to it. That's the way He does it.

 

*WE MUST LOOK IN HERE AND SEE WHAT'S PROMISED FOR THIS AGE, AND THEN SEE IT HAPPEN. THAT'S GOD INTERPRETING HIS OWN WORD.

13    But each age has its part of the Gospel already predicted. This Bible is the complete revelation of Jesus Christ. There can be no more added to It, or anything taken away from It; the person who does it is cursed. We cannot add nothing to It, take nothing from It. We must look in Here and see what's promised for this age, and then see it happen. That's God interpreting His Own Word. When It said, "A virgin shall conceive," she did. That's God's interpretation of It. What He promises, that He does.

 

*…IF THIS IS THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST FOR ALL AGES, AND FOR THIS AGE, HE'S REVEALED IN THIS BIBLE WHAT HE WOULD DO IN THIS AGE

16    And if This is the revelation of Jesus Christ for all ages, and for this age, He's revealed in this Bible what He would do in this age; and when we see It do it, when we see Him do what He promised to do. Not a virgin birth; that was two thousand years ago. But what He promised to do today, what He said He would do today, that's what He is today.

 

*THE NEW BIRTH WILL DO THAT BECAUSE IT'S GOD'S PROVIDED WAY TO BE BORNED AGAIN.

  28     ...But God's way, provided way, is to stay there and work your way through, until God gives you the new Birth. That's exactly right. Pick him out, it'll kill him.

  29      That's what's the matter, today, with the people. A new Birth, they all dodge it. They don't like it. Oh, they have substituted something for the new Birth, "come up and believe, and that's all you have to do." The Devil believes, himself, and you know he is not born again. There is a new Birth. There is something goes with it, it's kind of unfitting, untasting to the world.

30    Any birth is a mess. I don't care where it's at. If it's in the pig pen, or--or a hospital. A birth is a mess.

31    So is the new Birth! It'll make you do things you didn't think you would do. It'll make you get down at the altar and cry, scream, wash the paint off your face, raise your hands, praise God, speak in tongues, and all kinds of things. The new Birth will do that because it's God's provided way to be borned again.

 

*HE'S GOT TO DIE TO THE THINKING OF ANYTHING BUT GOD'S WORD, AND COME HIS WAY.

  32      You have to die. You have to die before you can be reborn. Any seed has to die before it's regenerated again. Unless it dies, it abides alone. A man has got to die to his own thinking. He's got to die to the thinking of anything but God's Word, and come His way. That's God's ground. We don't meet Him on our thoughts; we meet Him on what He said do. That's God's provided way for it. People dodge it; they don't want it. But it's true, just the same. It'll, it produces death, and you have to die, die to your thinking.

 

*HE SENDS HIS WORD AT SEASON, THAT SEASON, THEN IT'S MANIFESTED. GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY.FOR.THIS.DAY_  BAKF.CA  V-22 N-6  THURSDAY_  64-0206E

  43      That's the way God does. He sends His Word at season, that season, then It's manifested. And I don't care how many other things that go on; when they see the Word of God promised for that day, being vindicated and promised, there is nothing going to stop them. "A virgin shall conceive." And when they said...

 

*... THE HOLY SPIRIT TAKE THE CHURCH TO GOD'S PROVIDED PLACE.

  48      Remember, the education wouldn't be the instrument to lead them to God's provided place. The instrument they have is instinct. And they, them ducks, know that that instinct will take them to God's provided place.

49    So does the Holy Spirit take the Church to God's provided place. Not to join a church, but to be filled with His Presence, to see His Word made manifest, vindicated. That's God's provided way for the church, always, for the people, to bring them to the place that God has provided for them. That's exactly what the church should be today. Now, we know that's true.

 

25-1226A_THE GREATEST GIFT

Psa 63:1  A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; 

Psa 63:2  To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. 

Psa 63:3  Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. 

Psa 63:4  Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. 

Psa 63:5  My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: 

Psa 63:6  When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. 

Psa 63:7  Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

  13      Now, two more days till Christmas. One more day, isn't it? That'd be two. Monday... Tuesday's Christmas Eve? Tuesday's Christmas Eve. Isn't it awful to see that this great holiday, that we're approaching, is approached in the manner that it's approached in? It's such a pitiful thing, such a--a--a rashel thing, to think that--that rabbits and a--a myth called "Kriss Kringle" (Santa Claus) and everything, has taken the real value away from what Christmas is.

14    Now, we don't... we--we don't know, and I certainly do not believe... I was just coming down, my wife's back there, and I... coming down the road, was listening at an astronomer; that now, they just fell on the idea which an astronomer told me many, many years ago, when I was just a game warden here in Indiana. When they told me that... how those stars came together, just like that first astronomer did and that formed, what they said would be a natural thing that happens every, I believe he said tonight, eight hundred years, or something like that. And it reforms itself again, of: Sardis and Jupiter, and I forget; and Mart-... Mars; no, I... that's wrong. It's some of the stars how they speed when they cross their orbits in line of the earth, and this astronomer tonight was trying to tell that it actually was a natural thing. I--I don't--I don't accept that. I believe it was a supernatural thing, that God did. He, things is supernatural with God. He is Supernatural.

*...WE FIND OUT THAT--THAT CHRISTMAS IS TO THE... IS MAINLY CHILDREN... BUT IT REALLY SHOULD BE ADULTS; IT SHOULD BE TEACHING THEIR CHILDREN WHAT REAL CHRISTMAS IS.

  15      And--and I looked down and know that this is facing back now to April, I've... the Lord willing for me to live that long, I'll be fifty-five years old. See? And I--I know the... But looking back on my life, and I wonder where it happened. From them first little Christmases, when we hang up our stockings, and Mama would get... We'd probably get an orange, and two or three little pieces of striped candy, and that was a great Christmas to us. But, you know, kids they--they look forward for them gifts. We--we find out that--that Christmas is to the... is mainly children, they--they look forward to that nowadays. It it's turned off to the children. But it really should be adults; it should be teaching their children what real Christmas is.

*... BUT I BELIEVE THAT CHRIST WAS BORN IN A SPRING, BECAUSE IN EVERY WAY HE WAS A LAMB. SEE? AND NOTICE, HE WAS BORN IN A BARN, AND NOT A HOUSE.

  16      And I totally do not believe that--that Christ could be born on a twenty-fifth day of December, in Judaea, because it's colder than it is right here now. See? Oh, and how could the shepherds be keeping their flocks by night? And--and then the taxation and everything, and Mary having to come that far, from way down in Bethlehem up into Judaea, up into Jerusalem, rather, at the... for the taxation. I--I--I hardly could--could--could believe that. Come up, I believe she come to Nazareth, and so when... How that--that could be done. It could not be--be done, but I believe that Christ was born in a spring, because in every way He was a Lamb. See? And notice, He was born in a barn, and not a house.

17    And when they took Him to the cross (the others), as far as we know, that he never said about Him leading them, but they led Him. Did you know a lamb or a sheep has to be led to the slaughter? It--it will not go to the slaughter, you--you have to lead it there. And usually it's a goat that leads the sheep. In the--in the killing pens, they have a goat. And the goat will walk up this runway, till he gets up to get the sheep started down the runway to be killed, and then the goat will jump out. But when they come a time they going to kill the goat, he really kicks up a fuss (he has to go in) because you couldn't blame him. But--but it's a--a thing how a sheep has to be led, and He was led to the slaughter. They led Him. He was a Lamb. And I believe in that way being altogether nature, and lambs are born in March, April, and somewhere along in there, not later than May. And I don't believe it was anything before March and anything after May, sometime along in there.

*IT--IT'S CHRIST IN YOU; GOD, DWELLING IN THE HUMAN HEART. THAT'S WHAT THE REAL CHRISTMAS MEANS.

  88      And if you're so grateful for Christmas, it's not to say, "I--I give Joneses a gift; and they give me one back, I'll see what I got in the morning." Why don't you open up your heart and see what's in there, find out what's you got in here. And accept... if we find it empty, with just negative creeds and--and--and cares of the world, why not ask Christ to fill it tonight? Tonight, so that you can get the real meaning of Christmas. It--it's Christ in you; God, dwelling in the human heart. That's what the real Christmas means.

89    But, you see, today we become so negative. It's the Devil getting us through there, (there's painted candy sticks, and a--and a reindeer and a--and a whiskered man, and flies through the air like an airplane, and visits the whole world and every home with a little bundle of toys on his back, and visits every child) and it--it's just a lie! It's just, right out, a lie. See? Now, see? But why? The Devil did that so he could twist the minds of the people.

46    Now anyone knows, that any time that God sends a gift to the earth, and the people turns that gift down, it’s always chaos to that nation and that people, that turns down the gift of God.

47    Jesus was the greatest Gift God ever give to the world. And the Jewish people turned It down, and scattered throughout the world from that time since. And when God sends a gift, and the people refuses to see it, and refuses to take it, then it’s scattered, the people is, and they, like sheep having no shepherd.

*THE COMMERCIAL WORLD GOT INTO IT AND THEY... IT'S BECOME A GREAT COMMERCIAL THING WHEN IT OUGHT TO BE A WORSHIP; A WORSHIP.

  90      The commercial world got into it and they... Why, they make enough through Christmas time until they can retire the rest of the year, almost. I talked to a merchant the other day, he said, "You give me these two weeks, and if I didn't have to keep my band here," said, "I'd wait till next Christmas; I could go fishing, whatever I want to do, till next Christmas." He said, "But I keep the boys going." Said, "Just keep them here just enough to keep my business open and it keeps--it keeps my hands paid off and things." Said, "I don't make nothing till--till Christmas time comes along." You see, it's become a great commercial thing when it ought to be a worship; a worship.

*THERE IS NOT ONE GIFT THAT COULD BE GIVEN GREATER THAN LIFE

     20   And I said this afternoon, or for this afternoon, that I wanted to speak on, “The Greatest Gift In The Bible.” And how many in the audience this afternoon could think of any greater gift that God could give to man than Eternal Life. There is not one gift that could be given greater than Life. Life is the…that is the sublime gift. It’s the greatest of all gifts, for where there is life, there is—there is joy. And God alone has Eternal Life.

*GOD WRAPS HIS OWN PACKAGE.

     46   But God wraps His Own Package. He’s got a right to do it, He’s the One that’s a giving It. He has a right to wrap It any way He wants to wrap It. Doesn’t make any difference how it is, He’s got a right to do it because He’s the One that’s giving the—the Gift.

     47   Another thing, the reason of it was, as it was then, so as it wasn’t customary for them to receive It the way It was wrapped. They was expecting something, a gift coming, that would come down on chariots, with an Angel escort driving fiery horses. But when It come as a little Baby being born in a manger, little did they ever know the Scripture said, “I’ll give this world a super sign.”

*THE GREATEST THING WAS EVER WRAPPED IN HUMAN FLESH WAS WRAPPED IN IT.

     44   Just a little while from then, and the world was going to receive its greatest Gift that it ever received, a little Package wrapped up. A little, first little Christmas Package that was ever wrapped, in all the world, God wrapped It up. I want to break in on my thought, and say this. The greatest thing was ever wrapped in human flesh was wrapped in It. God Himself wrapped His Own Self in a Christmas package and sent It to the world.

     45   Why did they refuse It? Why couldn’t they see It? Why did they turn It down? Why is it they didn’t want It? The same reason they don’t want It tonight. It wasn’t handed to them in the custom that they were used to gifts being handed. That’s the reason It’s rejected yet, tonight, is because It’s not handed to the people in the custom that they have been used to receiving gifts.

* CHRIST WAS GOD’S LOVE GIFT TO THE WORLD.

“Well, Brother Branham, can you explain that?” Yes. See, Christ was God’s love gift to the world. You believe that? [Congregation says, “Amen.”—Ed.] Greatest gift that God ever give was His only begotten Son. Is that right? That was God’s greatest gift.

Now, God had His gift in His Son, and could use It any way He wanted to. Now, when God showed Him something to do, that was God doing it. Now, God hadn’t showed Him this, and the woman done it; but her faith in God moved God through His Son, because that was her point of contact. You see what I mean?

*IT’S THE ATTITUDE THAT YOU TAKE TOWARDS ANY DIVINE GIFT OF GOD THAT BRINGS FORTH THE RESULTS THAT YOU’LL GET FROM IT.

23   And we know that any age, and all through every age, God has always had His witness on the earth; He’s never been without a witness. And He never will be without a witness. And when God sends a gift to the earth, and the people reject it, that generation goes into a chaos of blackness, and darkness, and rejecting of God. For God judges that generation by the way they judge His gifts.

Now, Jesus was God’s greatest gift. And He was trying to tell them that they had rejected His message. They rejected…Sodom rejected the message of the Angels. And in Noah’s age, that age rejected Noah’s message. And then He begin to refer back to some that did accept it, and He gave illustrations in it. And He said, “Then at any generation that received God’s gift, or God’s message, that generation always prospered and become a great generation.” It’s the attitude that you take towards any Divine gift of God that brings forth the results that you’ll get from it.

*JESUS WAS GOD’S LOVE GIFT TO THE CHURCH, AND THE CHURCH IS GOD’S LOVE GIFT TO JESUS.

   90   .....And the world has always attacked the gifts of God. And Jesus was God’s greatest Gift. Jesus was God’s love Gift to the Church, and the Church is God’s love gift to Jesus. God so loved world that He gave. See? “All the Father has given Me will come.” See, it’s a love affair.

*AND ALWAYS IN ALL AGES GOD HAS WORKED THROUGH HIS GIFTS, GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT.

     20   He was discussing with them. They had attacked Him. And the world has always attacked the gifts of God. And Jesus was God’s greatest Gift. Jesus was God’s love Gift to the Church, and the Church is God’s love gift to Jesus. God so loved world that He gave. See? “All the Father has given Me will come.” See, it’s a love affair.

     21   And always in all ages God has worked through His gifts, gifts of the Spirit. God in sundry times and divers manners spake to the fathers through the prophets, but in this last day through His Son Christ Jesus. Now, noticing, God works in His gifts, and when God sends His gifts, those gifts always stand stedfast. They’re always attacked by the devil, but they hold their color because they are from God. And all the attacks that Satan could put upon them will never move one.

*...WORSHIP HIM, THEN PRESENT YOUR GIFT; PRESENTING YOUR BODY AS A LIVING SACRIFICE, WHOLLY AND ACCEPTABLE TO GOD.

  91      Now, God, so anointed Jesus with the fulness of Himself till the... He was God's Gift to the world. That the wise men are clearly identified, that they're offering their gift to Him; showed that in their heart they knew who He was, and what He was going to do for them. So (no wonder) the first thing they did, they fell down, perfectly in order, and worshipped Him. Before they could even understand it, they fell down and worshipped Him and then presented their gifts. That's the way to have real Christmas: worship Him, then present your gift; presenting your body as a living sacrifice, wholly and acceptable to God.

*JESUS SAID THAT TRUE WORSHIP WAS IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH, JOHN 4:24.

Then the most of them go to church on Sunday. That is good but even there they have no idea of how to approach God and how to worship Him. Jesus said that true worship was in Spirit and in truth, John 4:24. But what kind of worship can you get in a church that knows so little of God it puts up a Santa Claus at Christmas and bunnies at Easter? Where did they get that? They got it from the pagans and made it a part of the church doctrine. But when one turns to the Lord and is filled with the Holy Ghost he ceases from all such things. He has a rest in his soul. He really begins to live, and love God and worship Him.

Isa 54:5  For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. 

Isa 54:6  For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. 

Isa 54:7  For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. 

Isa 54:8  In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer. 

Isa 54:9  For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. 

Isa 54:10  For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

 

Rom 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

*WHEN HE WAS HERE ON EARTH, AS I SAY, HE CARED FOR THE PEOPLE SO MUCH TILL HE HEALED THEIR SICK, COMFORTED THEIR HEARTS ...

  34      When He was here on earth, as I say, He cared for the people so much till He healed their sick, comforted their hearts, told them about a--a place that where He would go and prepare for them, and would come again to receive them unto Himself. He cared for them. And notice, He cared so much until, when He knowed He must leave in order to bring this great thing to us, He said, "I'll not leave you comfortless, but I will send the Holy Spirit, and He shall continue My care for you," until He returns. There's no one cares like Jesus. Knowing that His body, as a High Priest, in a mediatorial work that He's doing now, that Body must be in the Presence of God at all times, for intercession, that God cannot see the sinner's sin; He sees only the Blood of His Own Son. And knowing that, He sent back the Holy Spirit to continue to comfort His people. Does He care? Certainly, He cares. Now, He was to continue to care for the people, His people here on earth, in the same manner that He cared for them when He was here. Because He said in St. John, the 15th chapter, if you want to make... I got notes laying here with these Scriptures where I'm referring to, Saint John 15:26 and 27.

*...TODAY WE HAVE THE SAME COMFORTING LORD JESUS IN THE FORM OF THE HOLY GHOST, ANOTHER OFFICE THAT GOD HIMSELF IS WORKING IN.

36    He said, when the Holy Spirit has come, Who the Father would send in His Name, He would testify of Him. In other words, He would do the same thing He did. The Holy Spirit working through a tabernacle that He had sanctified, would do the same thing that He did. Now, what that ought to do for us! Then we know that right among us today we have the same comforting Lord Jesus in the form of the Holy Ghost, another office that God Himself is working in.

And I am going to the Father, and going to send back the Holy Spirit, Which will be Me in Spirit form. And I'll be with you, and dwell in you. And the very same things that I've done here, the Holy Spirit will do again in My Name, when He comes." See? That's why He said, "To speak against That" now after the atonement's already made, was unpardonable sin, to "blaspheme the Holy Ghost."

  40      He made this directly sure, see, "He will speak in My Name. The works that I do will you do also, when He's upon you." See, He would comfort in the same way, by forgiving all of our sins, healing all of our sicknesses, and speaking to us of comfort of a Kingdom that is to come. See, proving Himself among us, as God proved Hisself among us by Jesus Christ. And in--in II Timothy... I Timothy 3:16, it's written this way, know about God, "Without controversy we realize that great is the mystery of godliness, for God was manifested in the flesh." We saw God in flesh. That was God's comfort, to know that He come so much (He cared for us) until He become one of us. God manifested in the flesh. Not just another person, but God Himself!

41    And now to make it another step closer, He sends the Holy Spirit to care for our comforts, and He abides in us. Oh, He does care!

*...EVERYBODY DOESN'T HAVE THIS COMFORTER. THEY, THEY DON'T, THEY DON'T HAVE IT. SO THE REASON THEY DON'T HAVE IT, IS BECAUSE THEY DON'T ACCEPT IT. IT'S FOR THEM...

  42      Now we must go on to another portion of Scripture here, or another thought to back this up. Before I go, I might say this: everybody doesn't have this Comforter. They, they don't, they don't have It. So the reason they don't have It, is because they don't accept It. It's for them, but they don't accept It. Now, I hope that you're spiritual enough to--to read what I'm saying. See? I'm speaking to a group of people that's to be prayed for in a few minutes. And we have this Comfort in Holy Spirit that's sent for the Comforter, but all people won't receive That. They don't believe in It. See? They, in order to do that, then they gather their comfort from some other resource, some other means. If they don't accept God's provided Comforter, then they have to get some other comforter, see, because you can't live without something to live for.

* HE CAN'T HEAL YOU AGAINST YOUR WILL. YOU GOT TO BELIEVE IT.

  173      A man dropped dead right here on the platform, right here in front of us, about three weeks ago. His wife is a registered nurse sitting here. And the man went right down. He's sitting here somewhere. Here's his wife sitting here now, and--and here he is up here somewhere now. Yeah, here he's standing right here. Eyes went back, turned dark like that, right... fell, and I went down. She examined him, no heart, no pulse. I put my hands on him (he was gone) and just called for his spirit, in the Name of Jesus Christ, and he rose up. See? See?

174    What is it? He is the Resurrection and Life. Wasn't me. That was the Comforter that acted, the Holy Spirit making intercessions for us. See? We've accepted Him, now it's up to Him to make intercessions. Then how much could I... Could God save you against your will? Certainly not. He can't heal you against your will. You got to believe it.

*WHATEVER SOURCE IT IS, GOD HEALS BY IT. IT'S GOD THAT HEALS, FOR HE SAID, "I'M THE LORD THAT HEALETH ALL THY DISEASES."

44    And we believe that doctors help people. I believe that God heals by medicine. God heals by surgery. God heals by understanding. God heals by love. Just a little love goes a long way. Let somebody be all upset, and just show them you care for them. See? God heals by love. God heals by prayer. God heals by miracles. God heals by His Word. God heals! Whatever source it is, God heals by it. It's God that heals, for He said, "I'm the Lord that healeth all thy diseases." So all of it should work together, and man in different ministries should work together for that. See? Now, but they don't do it, because sometimes they're forbidden to take certain stands upon God's Word, because their certain denominations doesn't permit them to do that. But that doesn't stop the Truth, just the same, God goes on healing just the same.

*HE SO CARED FOR THEM UNTIL HE PREPARED A WAY THAT THEY COULD COME INTO AND WOULD BE FREE FROM ALL THE JUDGMENTS THAT WAS COMING.

  127      Now, does God care about those who have repented? Has He made a way for them? Now we're going to see what He did in times past.

128    Noah's time, He cared! He sent the prophet, and He--He brought the way and He showed them the way, and He made them a way of escape and they escaped the judgment. He also cared for them. We find out that He brings them to a place where He, in the last days, to where (of all) before the great judgment come, He so cared for them until He prepared a way that they could come into and would be free from all the judgments that was coming.

*NOT GOD IS WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD SUFFER, BUT HE KNOWED WHO WOULD RECEIVE IT AND WHO WOULDN'T.

129    Now, He did that to the--the Elected. Now, we know that. He did that to the Elect, only to the Elected, now! They was the one who had accepted this germ of Life. They were the one who were predestinated to see it. They were the one. We all, if we believe the Bible, we have to believe in predestination. See? That's right. Not God is willing that any should suffer, but He knowed who would receive It and who wouldn't.

* GOD CARES FOR PEOPLE WHO CARES. GOD CARES FOR THOSE WHO CARE FOR HIM.

  132      If they're ready to confess and repent and believe and accept, God cares! But you got to care first, you've got to accept what He sent you. He so cared for them that they'd be sure that there would be no mistake, He vindicated His prophet by a sign of a Pillar of Fire, to let the people see that it wasn't just this man walking along here, that it was God right above him, He was the One that was leading the way. God cares for people who cares. God cares for those who care for Him. So He vindicated this man and proved that he was God's servant, by sending them a Pillar of Fire to lead them to the very land. And they knowed as long as this sign of this Fire, a Pillar of Cloud and Fire was following them... He said He "took not away the Pillar of Fire and Cloud." He was with them for years and years in the wilderness, forty years. Is that right? That Pillar of Fire led them! We're in our thirty-third year, leaving seven years longer it would type the same. All right, a Pillar of Fire led them. He cared for them. And He cared so much for them till He just let them know that--that it wasn't some scientific thing, it wasn't some slip up, but He vindicated the Message, proving It.

 Psa 142:3  When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me. 

Psa 142:4  I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. 

Psa 142:5  I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living. 

Psa 142:6  Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I. 

Psa 142:7  Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.

2Pe 1:2  Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

  72    Psalms 16:8, David said, "I have set the Lord before me." That's a good thing to do. Psalms 16:8, "I've set the Lord before me." So he could not be confused about it. He wanted to be conscious of His Presence, so David said, "I have set the Lord always before my face. Now I, David, have set the Lord before my face, always to be conscious--conscious of God's Presence." Wouldn't that be a good lesson for all of us tonight? Set the Lord before our face so we'll be conscious of His Presence. Put Him first. Why? Put Him first, before you. Why? Then you won't sin when you are realizing that constantly you're in the Presence of God. When you realize God's around, you watch what you say.

*WHEN DAVID PUT GOD BEFORE HIM, AND WAS CONSCIOUS THAT CONSTANTLY HE WAS IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD... "SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD."

  74    After David did this, he said, "My heart shall rejoice." I wish you'd read it, Psalms 16. "My heart will rejoice, and my flesh shall rest in hope." Why? My heart shall rejoice because I've got God before me all the time. "And my flesh shall rest in hope; if I die, I'll be raised up again. For He'll not suffer His Holy One to see corruption, neither will He leave His soul in hell." See? When David put God before him, and was conscious that constantly he was in the Presence of God... "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God."

*THEN WHEN WE COME INTO HIS PRESENCE, WHEN A MAN ONCE COMES INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD, HE'S CHANGED FOREVER...

   42   ...So we're not ordained to do nothing but stay with that Word. And if a man is sent of God, he'll stay with the Word, because God can only stand by His Word. See? See, He must stay by His Word. Then when we come into His Presence, when a man once comes into the Presence of God, he's changed forever, if there's any changing to him. Now, there are those who could walk in the Presence of God and pay no attention to It. He wasn't ordained to Life. But if he was predestinated of God, as soon as that first move hits, he knows it. That catches fire.

*ANY MAN THAT COMES INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD IS RESPONSIBLE BEFORE GOD, FROM THAT MINUTE ON TO TELL SOMEBODY ELSE.

  44    .....Any man that comes into the Presence of God is responsible before God, from that minute on to tell somebody else. Look at Abraham; look at Moses; look at Peter; look at Paul; the moment they come into the Presence of God, recognized themselves sinners, and sealed their testimony with their life. Look at the little lady, she couldn't stay no longer, she went to the city and told the men, "Come, see the Man that told me the things I've done. Isn't this the Messiah?" They could not deny It, because It was Scriptural. Certainly. Yes, they've got to do it, a man, when we got a responsibility of telling others as Moses did, as Peter did, as Paul did. After these things, you've seen It and come into His Presence, you're responsible for the message to get to somebody else. You just cannot set still with it. You must take it to someone else.

  75    Now listen, church, I love you. And I want you to listen to me now. As Brother McCulley used to say, I'm going to say something. Always put the Lord before you, and don't you do nothing that you wouldn't do in His Presence, because He's watching over you. See? The Lord is encamped about those who fear Him. He don't... He just stays right near you. And He knows everything you're doing, and you must recognize that. When you start to tell a lie, don't do it. Remember, God is listening at you. If you start to do a little cheat, don't you do it; God's looking at you. If you start to take His Name in vain, don't do it; God's listening at you. Start to smoke a cigarette, He's watching you.

When we come into His Presence, we're changed, never to be the same. Look all down through the ages of every walk of life, at men. Look at Abraham. You say, "Well, the changed life is just for ministers." Oh, no. The changed life is for everybody. See?

*AND NOW WE PUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST IN.

  50-2    If you die, you take the blood out of a man. You embalm him. Trouble of it is, a lot of them never got embalmed. See? You take the blood out of a man, he's gone. Then the only thing you can do is put another blood back in him if he's going to live again; you took his blood out. And now we put the Blood of Jesus Christ in. See? And that brings the faith of Jesus Christ, the virtue of Jesus Christ, the knowledge of Jesus Christ, the temperance of Jesus Christ, the patience of Jesus Christ, the godliness of Jesus Christ, the brotherly kindness of Jesus Christ, and the love of God which is Jesus Christ. He's the Head that controls you. And your feet is the foundation, faith. Amen. Controlled by the Head, takes the people...?... There you are. There is the perfect man of God when he possesses these virtues.

*COME BACK TO THE FOUNTAIN. COME BACK AND RECEIVE CHRIST.AS LONG AS YOU RECEIVE CHRIST AND THE LIFE IS GOING WITH IT, THESE OTHER THINGS WILL FLOW FREELY.

   E-36    ...Brother, don't take a substitute. These things, shouting and speaking in tongues, that's all right. But that's an attribute. Have you got Christ? That's it. Got Christ in your heart, brother, something that makes you bear the fruits of Christ: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, meekness.

   E-37    Oh, I've seen people shout, and dance in the Spirit, and speak with tongues, and enough temper to fight a buzz saw, and go out, and live e--every day ungodly, and half dress themselves, and--and do shady deals, and everything like that. Brother, that's not the fruits of the Spirit.

Come on back to the Bible. Come back to the fountain. Come back and receive Christ. These other little things will take care of theirself. As long as you receive Christ and the life is going with it, these other things will flow freely. But don't try to get the other thing before you get Christ. He is the Fountain of Life, the only resource. And He's the inexhaustible Fountain of Life. You cannot exhaust His goodness, His mercy.

*WHATEVER IT IS, PUT THE LORD BEFORE YOU. AND THEN YOUR HEART WILL REJOICE, AND YOUR FLESH SHALL REST IN HOPE, FOR YOU KNOW THAT CHRIST PROMISED HE'D RAISE UP AGAIN IN THE LAST DAYS.

  97    He knows all things. He knows your heart. And you know what you're thinking; He does too. If there's a little sin hanging on you tonight, and you wouldn't want to go in the Presence of God with that on you, would you once more raise up your hand and say, "Brother Branham, pray for me; I want to be in His Presence at that day, guiltless." God bless you. Many hands, God sees it. In His Presence. Now, I'll tell you what you do. Now, just listen closely. Do like David did; put the Lord before you right now. Put the Lord between you and that sin, whatever that little besetting sin is. It might be lying, might be stealing; it might be evil thinking; it might be temper, might be drinking, might be smoking, might be gambling. I don't know what. It might be lust; it might be anything. I don't know what it is. Whatever it is, put the Lord before you. And then your heart will rejoice, and your flesh shall rest in hope, for you know that Christ promised He'd raise up again in the last days. When He comes forth, we'll come in His likeness. Won't you do it now while we pray.
