23-0424P_HE SWORE BY HIMSELF PT-11 (THE LORD IS FAITHFUL)_Message of the Hour Believers Tabernacle

Heb 6:10  For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
Heb 6:11  And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
Heb 6:12  That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Heb 6:13  For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
Heb 6:14  Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
Heb 6:15  And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
Heb 6:16  For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
Heb 6:17  Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
Heb 6:18  That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
Heb 6:19  Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

1Ki 10:1  And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.
1Ki 10:2  And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
1Ki 10:3  And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not.

Mar 5:21  And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.
Mar 5:22  And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
Mar 5:23  And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.
Mar 5:24  And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
Mar 5:25  And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
Mar 5:26  And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
Mar 5:27  When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
Mar 5:28  For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
Mar 5:29  And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
Mar 5:30  And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
Mar 5:31  And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
Mar 5:32  And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
Mar 5:33  But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
Mar 5:34  And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Mar 5:35  While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
Mar 5:36  As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
Mar 5:37  And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
Mar 5:38  And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.
Mar 5:39  And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
Mar 5:40  And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.
Mar 5:41  And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
Mar 5:42  And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
Mar 5:43  And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

2Th 3:3  But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
2Th 3:4  And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
2Th 3:5  And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

Pro 19:21  There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
Pro 19:22  The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.
Pro 19:23  The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
Pro 19:24  A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
Pro 19:25  Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Pro 19:26  He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
Pro 19:27  Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
Pro 19:28  An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.
Pro 19:29  Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

Deu 7:9  Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
Deu 7:10  And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.
Deu 7:11  Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.
Deu 7:12  Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:
Deu 7:13  And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
Deu 7:14  Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
Deu 7:15  And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.

Isa 49:1  Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
Isa 49:2  And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;
Isa 49:3  And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
Isa 49:4  Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.
Isa 49:5  And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.
Isa 49:6  And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
Isa 49:7  Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.
Isa 49:8  Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
Isa 49:9  That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.
Isa 49:10  They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.
Isa 49:11  And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.

Psa 31:23  O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
Psa 31:24  Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

2Th 2:15  Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
2Th 2:16  Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
2Th 2:17  Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

2Th 3:1  Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2Th 3:2  And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
2Th 3:6  Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
2Th 3:7  For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
2Th 3:8  Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
2Th 3:9  Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
2Th 3:10  For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
2Th 3:11  For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
2Th 3:12  Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
2Th 3:13  But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
2Th 3:14  And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
2Th 3:15  Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
2Th 3:16  Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
2Th 3:17  The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.
2Th 3:18  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. The second epistle to the Thessalonians was written from Athens.

UNBELIEF DOESN'T STOP GOD, IT DOESN'T HINDER HIM.

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

70      But in the face of all these un-... doubting ages and things that we have went through and live in today, the worst of all, in the face of all this doubt, God does go right on proving His Words to be right, as He has in every age. He... Unbelief doesn't stop God, it doesn't hinder Him. I don't care how much the world unbelieves, It's still going to happen. Unbelief doesn't do nothing but condemns the unbeliever. The unbelief will send the unbeliever to Hell. It'll rob him of every blessing God promised to him, but it doesn't hinder God from going right on with the believer. See, unbelief doesn't stop God, it only stops the unbeliever.

71    You say, "I... The sun ain't going to shine tomorrow, I'm going to stop it." You try it. See? All right, you can't do it. God has set it in order and said it would shine, and it's going to shine, that's all, He said it would. There might be some clouds under it, but it's still shining just the same. And you can't stop God with that. He, what...

*HE, BY FOREKNOWLEDGE, PREDESTINATED A SEED FOR EVERY AGE, THAT WOULD BELIEVE IT.

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

72      How does He make His Word known to the people? First, God knowing that there would be unbelievers... Now watch the wisdom of God; knowing there would be unbelievers, and how the majority would be unbelievers. He, by foreknowledge, predestinated a seed for every age, that would believe It. Now if you'll notice in there, for, each age goes right on with His Word, everything right on time, nothing hinders God. He goes right on, and every click is moving just exactly right. We think, sometimes, it's not going to work right. But don't you worry, His clock is timed just exactly to the split instant, and everything's working just exactly right.

*AND NOW TODAY, WE'VE GOT MORE KNOWLEDGE, MORE UNDERSTANDING, SO THE RIVERS OF UNBELIEF IS FLOWING IN HARD, BUT GOD RAISES A STANDARD AGAINST IT.

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

74    ….. Because, you see, sin wasn't known then like it is now. And when we got more knowledge now than we had then, and when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of God raises a standard against it. See? And now today, we've got more knowledge, more understanding, so the rivers of unbelief is flowing in hard, but God raises a standard against it. But, remember, He's always... The reason that He--He predestinated these things to happen. He foretold them by His prophets they would happen. And when the righteous see these things confirmed, then they know It's right. Regardless of what anyone else says, they know It's right.

*GOD, NOT SAYING, "I'LL CHOOSE YOU, AND DON'T CHOOSE YOU," BUT HIS FOREKNOWLEDGE KNOWED WHAT YOU WOULD DO.

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

75      We find out over there in--in--in, I believe, it's in First Thessalonians, He said, "He has predestinated us to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ." God, not saying, "I'll choose you, and don't choose you," but His foreknowledge knowed what you would do. So by foreknowledge He can set in order, and He's made everything to work for His good, and for your good.

*THAT'S THE PLACE THAT THE BELIEVER IS PROTECTED, BEHIND THE WORD.

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

76      In Genesis, God told Adam and Eve what would happen when they disbelieved His Word. Now, He put right and wrong before them, and He said, "The day you eat thereof, that day you'll die." And God meant just exactly what He said. He always does, He means what He says.

77    Satan led her to disbelieve It, for Satan himself never did believe It. He don't believe It, so he led her to believe it. And he still does the same thing, and teaches others the same, and they disbelieve It like she did. God fortified His people behind His Word, that's your only defense. Not your denomination, not your father or your mother, it's all right, but behind God's Word. That's the place that the believer is protected, behind the Word. When that little avenue was broken there, with a little "wonder if It's right or not? It wouldn't," reasoning come in and took the place of faith, they broke the bars. And God kept His Word, He performed It. Satan tried to get her to believe... disbelieve It.

*GOD GOES RIGHT ON, NO MATTER WHAT HE DOES, WHAT SATAN DOES, GOD GOES RIGHT ON PROVING IT TO BE SO.

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

78      Or, reason, don't reason with It! You--you say, "Well, I believe..." You ain't got no right. When God says anything, just--just the way He said, that's the thing to do. You say, "Well, I think..." But you ain't got no thought coming. Let the mind that was in Christ be in you. And Christ is the Word! Let the Word be in you. All other words be wrong, Christ's Words is right! Others believe him and all of his reasons, like she did, reason, "Well, why would God do this? Now, isn't this just as good as That?" If it's contrary to the Word, it's not! So, anything, any teacher, any Bible expositor, anything else would teach you or try to get you to believe anything one little iota different from what this Bible says it, it's a false teaching. It's Satan, again, just exactly like it was to Eve. God goes right on, no matter what he does, what Satan does, God goes right on proving It to be so.

*GOD PROVED HIS WORD SO, HE'LL DO IT EVERY TIME.

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

79      Now look what he said to Eve, "Surely you will not die. You'll be wise." That's what the world's looking for today, scientific proof, some knowledge of a man. And he said, "Surely you'll not die."

80    But God had said, "you will die," and God proved it so. And we can see it, He meant what He said. Go up here at the graveyard, you'll know whether He meant it or not. "The day you eat thereof, that day you die." And when you go up here and check any man you want to, of any age, there was never a man lived a thousand years. God proved His Word so, He'll do it every time.

*IF YOU BELIEVE IT JUST THE WAY HE WROTE IT, AND HOLD ONTO IT, THEN YOU'RE BLESSED.

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

81      But, remember, He keeps all of His promises of blessing as well as He does His cursings. Because they eat thereof, that day they died; and He proves it to you, that they do die that day they eat thereof. He also keeps every Word He said about His blessings. Every promise, God keeps! Oh, I love that. You have to choose which one you want: His blessings, by believing; or His cursings, by perverting It. If you pervert It and believe the perversion side of It, then you're cursed. If you believe It just the way He wrote It, and hold onto It, then you're blessed. And It's always contrary to science, always contrary to--to people's scientific way of showing things. For He keeps every Word, both of His blessings and His cursings.

Gen 24:12  And he said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.
Gen 24:13  Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:
Gen 24:14  And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.
Gen 24:15  And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.
Gen 24:16  And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Gen 24:17  And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher.
Gen 24:18  And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.

Isa 55:12  For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Isa 55:13  Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

*WHEN ANYTHING IS PROVEN, IT WILL EITHER BE PROVEN "RIGHT" OR "WRONG."

60    You know, there's a Scripture in the Bible, in First Thessalonians 5:21, where it is written, "Prove all things; hold fast to that which is good." When anything is proven, it will either be proven "right" or "wrong." And when there's anything in question, it should be proven until you find out what is right. And then as you find what is right, It said, "Hold fast." In other words, "Grip it, don't turn it loose. Hold it fast!" In other words, "Hold it tight, so that it will not slip." Hold fast to that which is good, after it's been proven "right." And anything that's proven "not right," then turn it loose as quick as you can, get away from it. Don't never hold onto the wrong thing.

*BUT THEN THESE THINGS SHOULD BE PROVEN, WHETHER THEY ARE "RIGHT" OR "WRONG."

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

61      Now, it is possible that staunch Christians, fine people, hold sometimes, hold to the wrong thing, thinking it is right. But then these things should be proven, whether they are "right" or "wrong." And it's the duty of all of us, as we are expecting to go to Heaven when Jesus comes. And it's the minister's duty, when any question is brought up, that he solves this out, and then proves it before the people, that they might understand, because no one wants to be found "wrong," holding to the wrong thing.

62    So we have a Scripture (and Jesus said, "all Scriptures must be fulfilled") that we should prove all things. And then, "hold fast," or, "hold tight, get a death-grip on it. And don't turn it loose, hold fast to that which is good."

*AND YOUR FAITH CAN ONLY REST, IF YOU'RE A CHRISTIAN, UPON THE PROVEN WORD OF GOD.

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

64      Now, there is also an old proverb that says, "Prove it, and I'll believe it." Now, they got one of our state, one of our states in the nation, they have a slogan, "I'm from Missouri, show me." See, in other words, "Prove it to me, I'm from Missouri." But this doesn't work always, because God has, in every age, fulfilled and proved the work that He has set out for that age, and spoke it in His Word. And every time that God's Word has been proven in the age, the majority has turned It down. So, "Prove it, and I'll believe it," is not so. You can only have faith as God gives you faith. Faith is a gift of God. Ever how religious you may be, yet it must take the... you must have faith. And your faith can only rest, if you're a Christian, upon the proven Word of God.

*GOD LOTTED HIS WORD TO EACH AGE, AND FORETOLD WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IN THIS CERTAIN AGE THAT HE WAS SPEAKING OF.

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

65      Now, remember, God lotted His Word to each age, and foretold what would happen in this certain age that He was speaking of. Now, if Moses would have come with the message of Noah, it would not have worked. If Jesus would have come with Moses' message, it would not have worked. Or one prophet came with the other prophet's message, it not have worked. But through His prophets, He has revealed the entirety of all of Himself and His plan. Therefore the Bible cannot be one word added to It or one Word taken from It.

66    So if you prove your problem by your... your answer by your problem, then why not prove the--the answer that we're now getting by the Word of this age? If the Bible speaks that a certain thing is to happen in this age, it's in the Bible and it will happen. Then if your answer that you're trying to tell the people, if it's proven by the Book, then it is true, it's true. Otherwise, it isn't.

AND THE ONLY WAY YOU'LL UNDERSTAND IT, IS COMPARE WHAT IT MAKES YOU DO WITH WHAT THE BIBLE SAID IT WOULD MAKE YOU DO.

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

67      Now we see another one, then you, no doubt, have heard them say, "Seeing is believing." That's another old proverb we have here, but that doesn't work either. It doesn't work, 'cause man can sit and look right straight at anything and they'll not see it. The word "see," the English word "see" has so many different meanings to it. Sea might mean "a body of water." And see might mean "to understand." See might mean "to look at it." And, oh, there's just all kinds of words you can use. But when you say, "seeing is believing," you're mistaken.

68    When you understand it, you believe it. Jesus said, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom," in other words, "understand the Kingdom," because the Kingdom is the Holy Spirit in you. So you have to understand what this is in you. And the only way you'll understand it, is compare what it makes you do with what the Bible said it would make you do. Then your problem's solved, see. And, then, He is that Holy Spirit.

SO, "FAITH IS THE SUBSTANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR, THE EVIDENCE," NOT SEEN, TASTE, FELT, SMELL, OR HEARD. YOU BELIEVE IT!

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

69      So, seeing is not believing. I can prove that by the senses of the body, see, that seeing is not believing. I cannot see this bottle of oil. I could not see it because it's behind me, yet I have a sense of--of feeling that tells me I've got it in my hand. See? Now, I couldn't see it, it's impossible. And now I cannot reach it, it's impossible, and yet I believe it. This, seeing is believing; this, feeling is believing. Now I close my eyes, I neither could see it or feel it, but if I get it close and could smell it, I still believe it's there. So, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence," not seen, taste, felt, smell, or heard. You believe it! And faith must have a resting place. And anything that's contrary to the Word of God, faith in God can have no resting place unless it's a promise of God. And there it takes its Eternal stand.

He, what...

HE, BY FOREKNOWLEDGE, PREDESTINATED A SEED FOR EVERY AGE, THAT WOULD BELIEVE IT.

AND NOW TODAY, WE'VE GOT MORE KNOWLEDGE, MORE UNDERSTANDING, SO THE RIVERS OF UNBELIEF IS FLOWING IN HARD, BUT GOD RAISES A STANDARD AGAINST IT.

PROVING.HIS.WORD_  JEFF.IN  V-9 N-6  SUNDAY_  64-0816

73      When I look around sometime and see these Rickys and Rickettas that we got today, and on the streets, and how everything's going on, I think, "O God!"

74    "Wait a minute," He says, see, "My timepiece is turning just exactly right. I've got to put you upon the same basis I did the first man, them days. And I put you on the same basis of Luther, and on the same basis of Wesley." Because, you see, sin wasn't known then like it is now.

23-0414A_PUTTING ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD PT-8 (GOD RAISE UP A STANDARD OF HIS WORD)

Eph 6:10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Eph 6:11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 6:18  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Eph 6:19  And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

23-0403P_HE SWORE BY HIMSELF PT-8 (OUR FOUNDATION IS FIRM & SURE)

Heb 6:19  Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

Heb 6:20  Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

2Ti 2:11  It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:

2Ti 2:12  If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

2Ti 2:13  If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

2Ti 2:14  Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

2Ti 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2Ti 2:16  But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

2Ti 2:17  And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

2Ti 2:18  Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

2Ti 2:19  Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

2Ti 2:20  But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

2Ti 2:21  If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Jas 5:7  Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

Jas 5:8  Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Jas 5:9  Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

Jas 5:10  Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

Jas 5:11  Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

Jas 5:12  But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.

Jas 5:13  Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

Jas 5:14  Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

Jas 5:15  And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Mat 7:13  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Mat 7:14  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Mat 7:15  Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Mat 7:16  Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Mat 7:17  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Mat 7:18  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Mat 7:19  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Mat 7:20  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Mat 7:21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 7:22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Mat 7:23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Mat 7:24  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Mat 7:25  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Mat 7:26  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

Mat 7:27  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

*THAT'S THE SURE FOUNDATION, IS THE WORD OF GOD.

MINISTRY.EXPLAINED_  MINNEAPOLIS.MN  TUESDAY_  50-0711

E-14    Now, hope is one thing and faith is another. Faith is a positive sense. It's not a guess work; you don't just imagine it. It's just as real as any other sense of your body, just the same as sight is. Sight is real. Hearing is real. See, taste, feel, smell, and hear, the five senses of the body that control the body, they're real faculties to you if none of them is injured. And then, faith is just as real as any of the other five senses, and more real, because it'll go in and above those five senses.

Now, the first and fundamental cause of Divine healing is because God said so in His Bible. That's the only... That's the sure foundation, is the Word of God.

E-15    And now, I think while I'm speaking tonight, I want to try to first start this meeting in a new way, not just run in like I usually do and take three or four nights to... 'fore the people realize what's happening. If you build their faith, I believe, firm first, upon what is the foundation, God's Word, I believe there'll be a better results right here in Minneapolis in this revival than we've had yet.

I tried it in Europe, and it worked wonderfully. When many times... When my last night was speaking, many many hundreds of the people, while speaking through an interpreter, received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. I forget how many hundred at one time, of young people, just when they seen. Faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word. Now, the Word of God will defeat Satan on any grounds, any place, anywhere, at any time. God's Word...

* HOW FIRM A FOUNDATION, YE SAINTS OF THE LORD.

HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_  JEFF.IN  V-26 N-11  SUNDAY_  54-1212

89    Here Paul picks it up over here again in the Hebrews, to refer back to it. Oh, they picked it up in the Galatians, in the Ephesians, and all through, referring to it, that our foundation is solid (Amen.), not some mythical built up something on some pagan superstition. But it's THUS SAITH THE LORD, by an oath. Amen. God taken an oath by Himself. Oh, my. How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord. Yes.

When demons come, when powers come, when sickness come, when death itself stares you in the face, it just loses its place, just melts away like the snow at the sunshine, when we throw it in the Light of the Gospel there.

***IF OUR FOUNDATION IS FIRM AND SURE IN JESUS CHRIST, THEN, BROTHER, THERE'S NOTHING CAN SHAKE YOU.

That's the Word of God. I believe every Word of It. There ain't... Not for me to cut this out, that out. It's for me to live up to Its qualifications, that's all, until Its requirements, rather, if I got to live up to That. For God has swore, and He said, "He that will add anything to It or take anything out of It, the same will be taken out of his part, of the Book of Life." That right? So we believe It.

If our foundation is firm and sure in Jesus Christ, then, brother, there's nothing can shake you. You're just... You're anchored. Amen. Oh, say. All right.

HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_  JEFF.IN  V-26 N-11  SUNDAY_  54-1212

  95    "And after..." The--the 15th verse now.

And so after he had--had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Oh, say, I don't know whether we're going to get down to that 7th chapter or not.

... after he had patiently endured (Amen.) he obtained the promise.

Can you do the same thing this morning? Can you set your faith, and say, "It's THUS SAITH THE LORD. And no matter what comes or what goes, whether today's easy, tomorrow's hard, the next day they're teasing you, the next day they're making fun of you, the next day they say I'm crazy, I endure." Amen.

After, not before he endured, but after he endured, he obtained the promise. Amen. Oh, my. There it is. You see it? Brother, that shakes all devils and everything else away. See, see? There it is.

And Satan come, say, "Oh, now, I tell, you're just a little worked up. You... There's... Just--just might as well be kind of reasonable about this thing."

Say, "It's THUS SAITH THE LORD, Satan."

No matter how hard it comes, what it looks like, what anybody says. I want to, with patience, not fretting..." Person can't have patience, and some fretting all the time. You just got to set your sails right straight there and walk right on. No matter what takes place, move right on.

***THE WORDS MUST BE FULFILLED, AND HE KNOWED WHAT HIS LIFE WAS TO FULFILL THEM.

HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_  JEFF.IN  V-26 N-11  SUNDAY_  54-1212

101    Listen. I'm going to say something. Look. Faith is unconscious. Amen. You believe it? I've learned that in the years of travel around the world and meeting the peoples of all different walks. But faith is unconscious. You got faith and don't even know it. That's right.

Jesus Christ, no matter if He was in a storm and the gale's knocking the boat from one side to the other, or He was standing in the face of mess of demons; if He was hanging anywhere, it never moved Him. He walked right along just as calm and quiet as He could be. Why? He was simply unconscious of fear, anything around Him. That's right. Whether it was going to happen, or whether it wasn't going to happen; He knowed it was going to happen because God said so. He didn't say, "Oh, wonder if I prayed through? Wonder if I fasted long enough? Wonder if I did this?" He just walked right on unconscious. That's right. He believed what God said was truth. The Words must be fulfilled, and He knowed what His life was to fulfill Them. That's right.

*O LIVING CHURCH OF GOD, STAND IN FIRM FOUNDATION ON JESUS CHRIST ALONE.

13    Jesus said, "I came in My Father's Name, and you received Me not." You want the Scripture on that? St. John 5:43. See? "I--I came in My Father's Name, and you received Me not." Then the Father put His Own Name, which is "Jesus," in the Son. And He's the way, He's the door, He's the house, He's where God chose to put His Name. God never put His Name in me, He never put It in the church, He never put It in the Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, but He put It in Christ the Anointed Emmanuel.

GOD'S.ONLY.PROVIDED.PLACE.OF.WORSHIP_  SHP.LA  V-7 N-4  SUNDAY_  65-1128M

214      And the Name is in the Word because He is the Word. Amen! What is He then? The Word interpreted is the manifestation of the Name of God. No wonder. "Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father which is in Heaven has revealed this to you, Who I am. And upon this rock I'll build My place of worship, and the gates of hell can't shake It down." Amen! O living Church of God, stand in firm foundation on Jesus Christ alone. You can sing the song, but if you're not on Christ the Word, you're on teetering, faltering sand. "But upon this rock," Christ, "My Word."

*JUST WALK WITH GOD; THAT'S ALL. FOR GOD HAS PROMISED YOU, "I'LL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU.

HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_  JEFF.IN  V-26 N-11  SUNDAY_  54-1212

103    And you're here to fulfill It too. Just walk unconscious of fear. Walk unconscious of criticism. Walk unconscious of the world. Walk as you walk in Christ. Walk with Him, not paying any attention to right or left hand, just keep moving on. If something comes up in the church, walk with God. Hallelujah. If sickness strikes you, walk with God. If the neighbor don't like you, walk with God. Just keep on walking with God.

Enoch, one day walked like that. You know what he done? He walked all the way home with God; got so far up the road, he didn't want to come back any more. Amen.

Walk with God. Doctor says you're going to die; walk with God. Yeah. Doctor says you can't... well; walk with God. Just walk with God; that's all. For God has promised you, "I'll never leave you or forsake you. I'll be with you to the end of the world." And He took an oath by that covenant that He give you, that He'd confirm it. Just walk with God then.

*IF GOD'S YOUR SHIELD, HOW'S THE DEVIL GOING TO HIT YOU?

HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_  JEFF.IN  V-26 N-11  SUNDAY_  54-1212

110    Let's go back and see what the oath is, will you? Just a minute, just for a minute. Back in the--in the Book of Genesis, I was reading it here the other day, the 15th chapter of Genesis. Here we go. Listen at the oath that God swore to, if you want to read something to make you feel real good.

After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abraham in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abraham: I am thy shield, and... exceeding great reward.

"I am thy Shield." If God's your Shield, how's the devil going to hit you? See, see? "I am your Shield, and your exceeding great Reward." Who is? "I am," the Lord, "your exceeding great Reward."

And Abraham said, LORD GOD, what will thou give me, seeing that I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

And Abraham said... And Abram said, Behold, to me thou has given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is my heir.

And, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

God done told him twenty-five years before, that He was going to do it. So Abraham begin to wonder now, "Now, now, Lord, where... How's it going to happen now? And see, I'm a hundred years old."

HE--HE JUST BELIEVED THE LORD, AND IT WAS COUNTED TO HIM FOR RIGHTEOUS, BECAUSE GOD SAID SO.

HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_  JEFF.IN  V-26 N-11  SUNDAY_  54-1212

  113    Now, watch.

And He brought him forth... (Here--here it comes.)... And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now towards the heaven, and tell me the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

And yet he didn't even have any children, and a hundred years old. Said, "Look up yonder towards the heavens. Can you number them stars?"

HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_  JEFF.IN  V-26 N-11  SUNDAY_  54-1212

115    And here, out in Mount Palomar, or Mount Wilson, rather, in California, looking out there at that big observatory, where you can take a glass and see a hundred and twenty million years of light space... Now, you think, your eyes can only see just so many thousand miles away (See?), maybe a couple million, a few million. But this is a hundred and twenty million years. Just what you can see in the solar system, just them stars. Some of them are closer, and some of them are farther away, and so forth. But looking through a hundred and twenty million years of light space, just think what it is, how fast light travels. And a hundred and twenty million years of light space, why, you couldn't run a row of figures around this church ten times, of nine's, and make how many miles it would be. And out there, is still moons and stars on the outside of there.

HE.SWORE.BY.HIMSELF_  JEFF.IN  V-26 N-11  SUNDAY_  54-1212

116    Abraham's seed, said, "Number them." You couldn't do it. "So shall thy seed be." And listen. Here is what did it.

And he believed in the LORD;... (oh,)... and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

He never said, "Now, Lord, I'll tell you what I'll do. I'll do a certain-certain thing. And I'll do this, or that." He--he just believed the Lord, and it was counted to him for righteous, because God said so. He'd swore by it, that He'd do it.

And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of Chaldea, to give thee this land to inherit it.

And he said, Lord GOD, wherein shall I know that I will--shall inherit it.

89    God making a covenant, showing, pre-showing that "I swore that I'll do it, in your Seed I will bless all the nations of the world." Read it. "I'll bless the Gentile; I'll bless the black man, the yellow man, the white man. I'll bless everyone through your seed, for out of you will come kings and princes."

"How You going to do it, Lord?"

"I'll show you how."

And He showed him on the hillside, where those pieces represented. And any Bible scholar here knows that each one of those was a clean animal that represented the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He was the Ram. He was the Heifer that made the waters of separation when you had the waters of separation through. Now, we have the washing by the water, by the Word of the separation from sin, through the Word, through believing. And the Pigeon and the Turtledove, was Divine healing, that all in Christ... Amen.

ISRAEL.AND.THE.CHURCH.1_  JEFF.IN  IC 1-34  WEDNESDAY_  53-0325

91    There God showed Abram what He was going to do, that through the Seed of Isaac He would bring forth His only begotten Son, Christ, and was slain yonder between the heavens and earth, when the sun went down, the blackness over the earth, and there He tore Him apart. God pulled His soul out of Him, and He wrote a covenant with the families of the earth. When that precious unadulterated Blood of the Almighty God, dripping from Immanuel's Veins, He tore that soul out of Him. He said, "My God, My God, why has Thou forsaken Me?" His face full of mockery spit, a crown of cruel mockery pulled down over His brow, His nails drove, was Roman spikes, His back riven until His ribs showed through, swinging on the cross, screaming, dying, sinner's death, the sin of the world upon Him. And there God rivened His sides, tore His soul out of Him, when He said, "Into Thy hands I commend My Spirit," and He dropped His head. And the earth shook and belched out its rocks. There He is; there's God's covenant. There the fulfilling of it.

Mid rendering rocks and darkening skies

My Saviour bowed His head and died,

The opening veil revealed the way

To heaven's joys and endless day.

ISRAEL.AND.THE.CHURCH.1_  JEFF.IN  IC 1-34  WEDNESDAY_  53-0325

92    O Calvary, O Calvary, Jesus bled and died for me. Then He tore the soul of His Own Son, separated a covenant, and He throwed the Body into the ground. It laid there for three days and nights. It rose up. "For it was not possible that My holy One shall see corruption, neither will I leave His soul in hell." And His soul was His Spirit that ascended into hell. And He rose down, God did, and picked up His Body and gave Him life, and took the Body of Jesus and set it at His right hand in Glory, and sent back the Holy Ghost as a Covenant.

ISRAEL.AND.THE.CHURCH.1_  JEFF.IN  IC 1-34  WEDNESDAY_  53-0325

93    There you are. Don't fall short of that, brother. Without the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you're lost. That's the only... You won't have to worry about getting to heaven. If there's nothing in here Supernatural, the doors can't unlock, you could walk there and bump your head against it. But if the Spirit of God is in there, the Spirit of God inside will unhinge the doors. Got to have the thing in here to unlock it yonder. That's right. So you're already judged just on what you think about Jesus Christ.

ISRAEL.AND.THE.CHURCH.1_  JEFF.IN  IC 1-34  WEDNESDAY_  53-0325

94    Now, here He comes, torn, riven, tore to pieces. His soul went to God. God blessed Him. And then His soul returned back in the form of the baptism of the Holy Ghost that comes into every believer, to sanctify, clean up the mind, clean up the heart, and leave a portion of the Holy Ghost in there, here and there. And when the Holy Ghost is given out, that same Holy Spirit that brought the Body of Jesus out of the grave, will rapture. And that covenant has to dovetail, as He tore there and gave the Body; went back to God, and the Spirit came back to the earth. Then your Spirit will have to be the same kind of Spirit, or it'll miss that place going together. Amen. Yes, sir. Not because you make yourself, but because Something, the love of God has swept into your soul and tore every earthly idol out. There it is.

ISRAEL.AND.THE.CHURCH.1_  JEFF.IN  IC 1-34  WEDNESDAY_  53-0325

95    And there's something that's screams and calls to God, it's your soul in here calling out to the heavenly Father. There you are. That gives you a faith, and you become the seed of Abraham. You believe God's promise like Abraham did. Though it linger, yet you believe it. Faithful: Abraham staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong, giving praise to God.

And you can't stay saved from one revival to another, then call yourself the Seed of Abraham? You better consider something first. Don't misjudge anything. Stay straight with the Word.

Abraham staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief. When He told him He'd give him a son, he waited twenty-five years, grew stronger all the time. He grew in grace and the knowledge of the Lord. Amen.

Psa 119:89  LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Psa 119:90  Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.
Psa 119:91  They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants.
Psa 119:92  Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.
Psa 119:93  I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.
Psa 119:94  I am thine, save me; for I have sought thy precepts.
Psa 119:95  The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies.
Psa 119:96  I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad.
Psa 119:97  MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
Psa 119:98  Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.
Psa 119:99  I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.
Psa 119:100  I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.
Psa 119:101  I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.
Psa 119:102  I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.
Psa 119:103  How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Psa 119:104  Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
Psa 119:105  NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Isa 42:3  A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
Isa 42:4  He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

Isa 42:9  Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
Isa 42:10  Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
Isa 42:11  Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
Isa 42:12  Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.
Isa 42:13  The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.
Isa 42:14  I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.
Isa 42:15  I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
