22-1205P_LIFE Pt-6 (IT IS WRITTEN AS OUR EXAMPLE)
Luk 14:16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:
Luk 14:17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
Luk 14:18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
Luk 14:19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
Luk 14:20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
Luk 14:21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
Luk 14:22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.
Luk 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
Luk 14:24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
2Th 3:1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2Th 3:2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
2Th 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
2Th 3:4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
2Th 3:5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
2Th 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
2Th 3:7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
2Th 3:8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
2Th 3:9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
2Th 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
2Th 3:11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
2Th 3:12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
2Th 3:13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
2Th 3:14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
2Th 3:15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
2Th 3:16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
2Th 3:17 The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.
2Th 3:18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. The second epistle to the Thessalonians was written from Athens.
1Th 1:4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
1Th 1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
1Th 1:6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:
1Th 1:7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
1Th 1:8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
1Th 1:9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
1Th 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Heb 12:3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Heb 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
Heb 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
*HE MET HIM AGAIN WITH THE WORD OF GOD, SO SHOWING TO US, AS OUR EXAMPLE, THAT THE WORD OF GOD WILL DEFEAT THE ENEMY ANY PLACE, ANYWHERE, ANY TIME.
E-16 When Jesus...
We all believe He was the Son of God. Is that right? We accept Him as the Son
of God. And He was more than a man; God was in Jesus. God was in
Christ reconciling the world to Himself. He was a God-man, God working through
Him.
Now, but when He met Satan, or Satan met Him, He did not use
any of His fine gifts, which I believe that in Him dwelt all the powers of
heavens was in Him. But He never used any of them to defeat the enemy. When He
met Satan, Satan tempted Him. He said, "It is written: Man shall not live by
bread alone."
Then upon the pinnacle of the Temple, He met him again with the Word of God. When he taken Him up in the mountain, He met him again with the Word of God, so showing to us, as our example, that the .Word of God will defeat the enemy any place, anywhere, any time. It is written.
*HE IS OUR EXAMPLE HOW TO OVERCOME OUR EVIL GENERATION, AS HE OVERCOME HIS EVIL GENERATION.

If you live a hundred
years, what are you going to come to? Mental, and your mind gone, all
crippled up, and old and shaky. That's where you're going, and that's
the end of it. You come now,
overcome the thing. How you do it? By the Word. What the Word says, you do it. Walk humble. Live
before Jesus.
143 He endured all things for you and I. He is our
example how to overcome our evil generation, as He overcome His evil
generation.
144 Remember, when He come to the
earth, there's just as much unbelief, or more, than there is at any time. It didn't bother
Him a bit. When they called Him a devil instead of God, when they called Him
everything that could be done, it didn't bother Him a bit. He had one object,
"Mind the Father. Keep the Word." The Word is God. He had one mind.

HE, OUR EXAMPLE, OVERCOME, AND THEN ASCENDED UP, AFTER HE CONQUERED DEATH, HELL, SICKNESS, GRAVE.

But watch. But,
"That place," Jesus said, "was predestinated." This
position was not in existence at that time. Why? Notice. "It will be granted to them who it is meant for." What? The one to set at
the right hand, and the other closest to Him, was yet an overcomer. See?
It was still... He said, "I--I don't grant this. I can't grant this, but it will
be given after the trial comes." Amen. See? "I can't give this. But after the trial comes, they'll
set on the right hand and on the left. There's a predestinated seed waiting out yonder for that. It will be
given to the ones that it's promised to. It'll be given there, but the test
hasn't come yet. Yeah. He hasn't overcome yet." See?

159 The
person that was to take this place on one side, and another one to take it on
the other side, next to Him in the Kingdom, it wasn't yet given, see, that that
overcome. The test hadn't fell yet. "It will fall in
the future."
"If we
suffer for Christ and His Word, we will reign with Him, for He is the
Word." Remember, "If we suffer for Him and His Word, we'll reign with
Him, in His Word."
160 Notice. He, our example, overcome, and then ascended up, after he
conquered death, hell, sickness, grave. Everything, He conquered. "Then He ascended up, and led captivity captive, give gifts unto
men." That was the Old Testament, with the Old Testament saints that had
overcome. They looked for such a Person, and they died before It got there. But
when this Person come, "It didn't prevent them which were asleep." Amen.
Can't lose, any way. Live or die,
what difference does it make? "Won't
prevent." See? They looked for that.

161 Even Job back there, he looked for it. He said, "I know my Redeemer liveth. And at the last days He'll stand upon the earth." There was a just man, a perfect man. He offered sacrifice. He done everything that God told him to do. He did it with reverence and respect. He was a prophet. And then Satan come around, to tempt him. (Just like he comes to tempt you.) What did he do? He kept standing there.
*JESUS IS OUR EXAMPLE. AND WE MUST LOOK
TO HIM, THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH.
85 Now we find that, Isaiah, he had
leaned heavy upon the good king's arm, and now the arm had been taken from him;
and the king was dead, and died with leprosy, in shame. Now, Isaiah,
during this time, the king being lifted up, well, then his young son was to
take the place. And we find out that--that the people had got into a--a
horrible immoral stage.
86 When there is no real godly
leader, then the people begin to get into immorals. I think that's what's the
matter with us today, in our nation, in our churches, and things. We need godly
leaders, somebody that sets an example.

And, but He let
Isaiah know here that he could not look upon men. So Isaiah, one day, as he
wondered around, he must have got all
weary, being knowed he had a great responsibility, he went down to the temple
to pray. Now that's a good thing to do, for all of us. Goes down to the temple
to pray.
88 And we notice when he was praying down
at the altar. All at once, being a prophet, he fell into a vision. And,
when he did, he looked up and he saw God, the King, sitting way high, exalted,
up on His throne, and His train filled the place, you see. Then he saw a
real example. He saw One that he could
put his confidence in, that could never be striken with leprosy, One that could
never fail. In other words, He was saying to Isaiah, "See, you put your
hope in some man, and it failed. You put your... looked to this man for an
example, and--and he failed. Now look up Here, at Me, I'm the unfailing
God."
89 And I--I think that's what we should do today, as His
servants, should look to Him. Jesus is our example. And we must look to Him,
the Author and Finisher of our faith.
