25-1124P_LIFE PT-2 (THY LOVINGKINDNESS IS BETTER THAN LIFE)

Psa 63:1  A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; 

Psa 63:2  To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. 

Psa 63:3  Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. 

Psa 63:4  Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. 

Psa 63:5  My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: 

*BUT TO KNOW HIM IN THE PARDONING OF YOUR SINS, AND THE RENEWING OF YOUR LIFE BY HIS SPIRIT… GREAT FOUNTAIN OF ALL THE RESOURCE OF GOODNESS DWELLING IN YOU… THAT'S THE ONLY WAY TO HAVE LIFE.

  E-27    And the great Jehovah without beginning or without ending, without--without beginning of days or ending of years has give us Life through Jesus Christ, and Him alone. Not just to recognize Him as a good Person, not to just worship Him as He would be a God, which He is, the God. But the thing to do is to know Him. That's it. Not to worship Him, but to know Him is Life.

The devils worshipped Him, certainly. Every knee shall bow to Him. But to know Him in the pardoning of your sins, and the renewing of your life by His Spirit, that great Fountain of all the resource of goodness dwelling in you, God making you bring the fruits of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, goodness, meekness, gentleness, patience, faith, and all those great attributes which comes from God alone, that's the only way to have Life.

*SO THE WORD "LIFE" HAS BEEN MISINTERPRETED TO US.

  E-28    So the word "life" has been misinterpreted to us. Now, we... What we call life, someone will get a new car, and they'll go down the road, and they'll just whiz, maybe with a drink in them and their arm around a girl. And a young fellow say, "This is life."

And the young lady with her choice boyfriend, and she's got a drink or two and she'll say, "This is life."

Or maybe the man who's always wanted lots of money, and all of a sudden he falls heir to a great amount of money. He will build a great home. He will get the finest of car. He will scream, "This is life."

The poor, little wash woman with her babies, she'll get a trip to Hollywood. And she'll become queen for a day on some program, or some of those things, or win some portion of goods. It'll thrill her to a place where she'll say, "This is life."

E-29    But how perverted it is. That's death. And those will perish who have it. And we notice today... Now, I might be just a little bit old fashion on these things and kindly cut corners and mash hard, but it's to really... The intense of it is to show a point.

*THIS WHAT WE CALL LIFE NOW IS ONLY A SHADOW OR A NEGATIVE.

  E-31    …..Now, notice. In this--this thing that you call life becomes so miserable till many times people take their life. So that could not be the life that God is speaking of, 'cause you cannot take God's Life, and neither can you give God's Life; that lays by sovereign grace in the hands of God alone.

  E-32    But this little mortal, perverted thing that you live in called life, you can take that when so desired. But to show that that isn't life, how miserable it becomes. This what we call life now is only a shadow or a negative.

We all like to rejoice, but we can rejoice over the right thing. That shows that we're hooked up with the real thing, when we rejoice over the right thing. But when we rejoice over the wrong thing, it shows we're hooked up with the wrong thing. So our life can tell right now what we are, which way our emotions are running. Do you see?

We are... If we're rejoicing over the world, and the evil things, our minds and our souls are inspired by below. Boogie-woogie, dances, heartaches, drinking, all these other things that we run after, it's from below. But if we rejoice in the Spirit, that we have Eternal Life, and we raise our emotions to God and praise Him, then we have joy. Then we have joy. Jesus said, "I... That your joys might be full..." But not full of the perverted life, but full of Eternal Life, above. So you can see, it depends on what you look at.

And tonight I'm going down to the potter's house to lay my heart down and say, 'God, break it all up and give me a new heart, a new spirit, and put Your Spirit right in the middle of it, and let my life run right along according to Your Word. Make me a Micaiah of this day, that I can stand on THUS SAITH THE LORD. And my vision, and my life, that--that I live before You, not I, but the Spirit in me, lives the life that the Bible requires. You don't go to places they don't believe in Divine healing to--to get healed. You go to places where they believe in Divine healing. And we believe in worshipping the Lord in the Spirit. And that's why you come here, is because we have... It's fellowship.

  E-20    Satan don't have one right of nothing. He's only a bluff. He was stripped of everything he had at Calvary, when Jesus Christ taken the sinner's place and died at Calvary. Satan has no legal rights over nothing no more. Hallelujah. But everything lays in the hands of the Church and the believer. That's it. Satan's lost. He's nothing but a bluff.

Even death itself, which we taught last night... The bee when it loses its stinger, it's still a bee, but it ain't got no sting. And death has no sting to the believer, his stinger is gone. Death's singing around, say, "Well, this is the end of the road." I can point to Calvary and show a resurrection. Hallelujah.

  E-23    Notice. God promised it. God's obligated to take care of it. And this Blood cell where He formed--moved into this womb, covered Hisself over with His own creative Blood, brought forth the Son, Christ Jesus. The Blood cell was broken at Calvary. The Blood run out of His body in order that He could bring back into Himself: fellowship.

God manifested in the Pillar of Fire; God manifested in the Son; and now, God manifested in you. The same Holy Spirit that was the dispensation of the Fatherhood. Jesus was the dispensation of the Sonship. And this is the dispensation of the Holy Spirit.

That's the reason we was commissioned to baptize you in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, showing that God has unfolded Himself, condescended, coming down, working His way through. He couldn't enter into sin. But He cleared His way as He went. For God so loved man that He wants to come down and fellowship with Him.

God tonight, the same Jehovah God that spoke to Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, lives in every borned-again man or woman, trying His best to make you believe Him. Have faith in Him. Step out. Don't you doubt one bit. But the same God that was with Abraham, is the same God that is tonight.

  176    He said, "I give unto them Eternal Life." Eternal Life comes from the Greek word of "Zoe." Zoe is that Life. Zoe is the Life of God. And if the Life of God's living in you, produces a godly life just as certain as I'm standing in this platform. And the man that's got It, can no more perish than God can perish, because God's in the man. Amen. "He that heareth My Words, and believeth on Him that sent Me, has Everlasting Life, and shall not come into condemnation; but hath Everlasting Life. He that eats My flesh and drinks My Blood, I'll raise him up in the last days." That's His Word. What a consolation to the believer. And what a condemnation to those who reject to walk in the Light.

  E-72    Are you satisfied in your heart in the light of God's Word? You have been borned-again of the Spirit of God, and the fruits of the Spirit follow your life, with love, joy, peace, longsuffering, goodness, faith, meekness, patience, is following you. If not, would you be so--so sensible, may I put it in that way, as to raise your hand to God and acknowledge your wrong, saying, "God, be merciful to me, and help me to be the type of Christian that You would desire me to be by giving me the Holy Spirit and let me live a godly life"? Jer 17:9  The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

213    That's the reason you have to be born again. You have to separate; you have to die to that first husband. You can't live with it. You just can't say, "Well, I'll divorce him, and hang him up here till occasion." No, sir. No writing of divorcement! He dies. The nature of the world has to die. Every speck of him has to die. You have to be reunited, again, with another Nature.

I said to the wife, I said, "There's a group of deer that goes down here in the giants." I said, "I want to walk down there today."

And I got out and there come up a storm. And you know in the New England states when the storms come, the fog comes and you can't see nothing. And I... I'd just shot a dear, and I was going back up. And I said, "Well, I'll go back up and get to her." 'Cause I told her I'd be in at two o'clock.

I thought, "Well, say, I ought to be getting up towards the place to turn off in a few moments." And I happened to look up and I was right back to my deer again. Well, I thought, "How did I miss that?" I kept walking again and walked about thirty or forty minutes and I was right back at my dear again.

Now, the Indians call that the death walk. You're walking in a circle, but you don't know where you are. And the fog's so low you had no markers or nothing. And then I seen I was caught. And I said, "Well, I must take some course." I thought, "When I come, the wind was in my face, so I, perhaps, better keep the wind right in my face and go this way."

  E-46    And I started that way, and I thought, "Oh..." I kept getting... I, why I couldn't see hardly as far as the wall. And those great tall trees swaying. And I thought, "What can I do?" And I was walking this way, and I thought, "You know, my wife she's young and in that lean-to, and it's almost zero weather. And that little baby boy of mine, they'll freeze to death tonight. She'd scare to death to be in these wilderness, about twenty-five mile from any road or any thing."

I said, "It'd scare her to death to be here alone, 'cause there's a mountain lion we seen over there this morning, and she'd be scared of that." And I said, "I don't know what to do." And I started moving on, and seen that I was all mixed up. I didn't know where to go. And I kept hearing Something in my ear saying, "I'm the Lord, and I'm a very present help in the time of trouble."

E-47    And I said, "Looky here, William Branham, why, you--you know more--more about the woods than to get nervous now." Why, I... Many of them die every year like that, get a fever and then you die when you get lost. And I said, "Why, you know more about the woods than that."

And something kept telling me, "That baby will perish; that wife will perish; and you'll perish here in this woods." Now, if it'd been ordinarily (my wife not there), I'd have found me a place and built me up a fire and wait till the storm was over, a day or two, and I'd have went on out.

So, but the wife in the woods and the--and the baby there, so I just didn't know what to do. So I kept walking, and I could hear a Voice saying, "I'm the Lord, and I'm a very present help in the time of trouble." So I just set my old rifle down against a tree; I pulled off my hat and laid it down. And I looked up, I said, "Heavenly Father, I'm not no woodsman." I said, "I was mistaken. And, Lord, I can't--I can't do nothing without You. And I'm lost, absolutely lost."

  E-48    And you don't know what a feeling it is, till you are lost one time. And I said, "Oh, I'm lost, Father. I know I'm going wrong. I don't know which a way to turn. And there's only one way I know to turn, that's heavenly, and look to You, Lord, and ask You to help me get out of here. I'm not worthy that I should live; but my baby and my wife, I want them to live, Lord."

And I said, "I pray that You'll help me get out of here, will You, Father?" And I raised up and I was weeping a little and took my hat and shook it off. It was kind of damp on the grounds, some snow. And I put it on my head; I picked up my rifle. I said, "Now, the best of my knowledge, I shall go this way." And I started that way again; I felt a hand lay on my shoulder.

  E-49    And I turned to look, and just as I looked, I seen Hurricane Mountain, this way. I was going exactly backwards right into Canada, right like that. And I stood there and just held my course like this. And I thought, "Oh, thank You, Lord." And for about the next three or four hours I climbed just in that direction, not moving at all, watching, going just as straight as I could to that place, and holding my course.

E-14    When you come to total obedience, then you can have possession. But until you totally obey. You've got to completely surrender your own thoughts, your own will, your own mind, and let the mind of Christ operate in you. Now, do you think Christ would--the mind of Christ, in you, would say, "The days of miracles is past"? Do you think the mind of Christ, in you, would say, "The Bible's right in some places and not in others"? The mind of Christ would sanction every word that Christ ever said. It's right. So if you don't use your own mind, just use His mind.

That's how visions at nighttime... If I use my own mind, how--what could I do? I couldn't do nothing. But just yield myself to Him, and then He uses my mind, my eyes, my mouth. He's my all. Just yield. That's the way you do it. That's the way these ministers do when they're preaching the Gospel. They get up there and take a text, why, they just start off to preach, and yield themselves to God, they're ministers, the first thing you know, the Holy Spirit maybe take them on another text, take them somewhere else.

When you surrender fully, He'll come in fully. But until you surrender, He can't come in fully. Surrender. Surrender your thoughts. Surrender your thinking. Surrender your life. Surrender your all. Surrender your prestige. Surrender everything to Him now, and He'll come in and fill you with the Holy Ghost. That's what He's here to do. He's already struck two or three here in the building. There's more than that, wanting the Holy Ghost. Just keep believing. Glory to God! Either right or wrong...?... Humble your own thinking. Humble your own ways.

But, oh, Delilah, the first thing you know... Samson oughtn't to have made his first stop. When Delilah flirted her eyes at him, he ought to have turned his head and walked on. Eve stopped just for a moment and she got in trouble. Samson stopped for a moment and got in trouble. And when the world presents something to the church or individual, don't stop; keep moving on. That's what the church needs tonight, is don't stop for these intellectual, classical prides, is keep moving on in the Holy Ghost. Just keep pressing on, going on...?...

87 When Satan met Him, Satan tried to detour Him. He got the road map, Satan did, out, and said, "You see, here it says this here."

He said, "But it's also written..."

Oh, there's lots of bypasses, this, that, or the other, "Oh, as long as I do this." That's not it. You--you've got to find God in a personal relationship and experience. If you claim you have it, and still live for the world, then there's something wrong. The devil has detoured you on the wrong Scripture.

If we follow the road map, if it says "turn on highway so-and-so here," turn that way. If Acts 2:38 said, "Repent, and be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for remission of sins," it didn't turn left; you must turn that way. I don't care how it is; you've got to follow the road. If He said, "The promise is to you and your children," that didn't mean for a age past. "As many as the Lord our God shall call," is what It said. That's God's road Map. We must follow It. The road's marked out.

You say, "How will I know I'm on it?" The Bloody footprints of the Lord Jesus made the road, and the disciples laid on that same foundation. And the Holy Spirit directed them. Follow that road map.

You say, "Well, I've got the Holy Spirit," and still living the same way you do? Something's happened to you. You never got the Holy Spirit that come on the day of Pentecost; It made you different.

"I don't believe in speaking in tongues. I don't believe in Divine healing. I don't believe in these things." Then you never got the Holy Spirit fell on Pentecost. You certainly didn't.

74    The Holy Spirit comes today in like manner to present God to man; but man wants to go to church. It--it--it drowns his--his--his thinking. He cannot--he cannot fathom it. And we must learn that God is not known by intellectual conception. God is known by the new birth, by the Holy Ghost, not by any other way. Jesus, the Bible has plainly quoted us that, "No man can call Jesus the Christ, only by the Holy Ghost." And if you've never received the Holy Ghost, you don't know that He is the Christ, for that's the only way He reveals Himself.

You're not converted until you receive the Holy Ghost. The Bible said so. After Peter had both been saved and sanctified, give power to cast out unclean spirits, and to preach the Gospel, Jesus plainly told him he was not converted, until he received the Holy Ghost. And He said, "After you're converted, then strengthen your brethren." That was on the night of the betrayal, that he was not yet converted. And no man is truly converted until he's been changed, and died to himself, and the Holy Spirit has control of that person. They don't want to do it.

  76    Now, the Holy Spirit will not misbehave itself in one person, and behave itself in another. It'll make each person come into Its character (See?), because it's a Spirit that leads you. It brings--makes you subject to Its nature. You don't bring It subject to your nature; It makes you subject to Its nature. And the Holy Spirit makes you live and love to do it. Oh, how you love to give up the things of the world, when the Holy Spirit comes in. How it cleanses you and washes you, and puts a desire in you to--to--to follow Him, and a thirst, and a hunger for more of it, just bathing yourself. He brings realities.

E-53    Now, there was a conference. God seen His runaway prophet; and when God chooses a man to do a thing, there's no way for him to get away from it. God haunts him. Maybe some of you here tonight, a backslider, you'll be miserable all the days of your life (and you ought to be) until you surrender yourself to God. There he was.

That's the way it is today. Now, many men will go away to a seminary and learn, oh, an intellectual giant, learn all the Greek and everything else; but when it comes to truth, he'll give his strength of his education to the Lord, yes, but his heart he gives to the church and not God. That's what's the matter with the people today; they want to follow their creeds. They don't want the reality of the Holy Spirit. They don't want to act any different than what they always act. But when you become a Christian, you are a peculiar person, a royal priesthood, a st--strange nation, odd people, do odd things and strange things, unbecoming to the world. And when you're in the world, you're unbecoming to God. One's vice versa from the other. One makes you act like they do in heaven, the other one makes like you do on the earth.

141    By His Faith in--in His Word we (He conquers), we can conquer anything: both death, hell, and the grave. We know that God is God, that Perfect Faith in God's Perfect Word, He conquered everything that He come in contact with. Death could not even stand in His Presence. Before there was ever a speck of star dust; before God was God (God is an object of adoration and no one was there to worship Him, so He was at that time only potentially God.) and He was known only as eternal Spirit, the bride was already in His mind. Yes, she was. She was existing in His thoughts. And what about those thoughts of God? They are eternal, are they not?

The eternal thoughts of God! Let me ask you, "Are the thoughts of God eternal?" If you can see this, you will see many things. God is unchangeable in both essence and behavior. We have studied that and proven that already. God is infinite in His abilities so therefore He as God must be omniscient. If He is omniscient, then He is not now learning, nor is He taking counsel even with Himself, nor is He at any time adding to His knowledge. If He can add to His knowledge, then He is not omniscient. The best we could say is that sometime He will be. But that is not Scriptural.

He IS omniscient. He has never had a new thought about anything because all His thoughts He has always had and always will have, and knows the end from the beginning because He is God. THUS THE THOUGHTS OF GOD ARE ETERNAL. THEY ARE REAL. They are not simply like a man with a blueprint he has drawn up and which one day will be translated into substance and form, but they are already real and eternal, and part of God.

  E-18    Now, we wonder then the word "life" must have a--a--a compound meaning to it, must mean more than--than--than one thing. Life itself means an existence. So then, if Thy lovekindness is better than life, then what could be any better? Because God alone has Eternal Life. God alone has Eternal Life. If we can get that straight now, it will be easy for us to see the great picture God sets before us. How that someday that everything that isn't of God will vanish and perish and go away.

Now, everything that had a beginning has an end. There's nothing that ever began but what has an end. But something that had no beginning has no end. And--and God alone is the only One that had a never beginning. He had no beginning of days nor ending of years. And therefore, we have to become a part of God by birth to live, have an eternal existence.

The word "life" has had a perverted aspect to it, because that even life itself has a perverted aspect. And many times people want to refer to life as having a big time, drinking, riling, and going out. They say, "This is life." How mistaken they are. That's death. See? It's not life. It's death.

You see, if Satan has a kingdom, he's got to have a false economy. He's got to have something that he can present to them to make them think they are living. But it's absolutely on the vice versa side. It's death in the form of life. See? It's a perversion from real life, because...

Let us settle this in our minds now once and forever. There's only one way to have life. That's right. And to know Him is Life. And that's the only way that we can have Life and no other way for God has only promised Life through Jesus Christ.

So you're still a son and daughter, but you're living under your privilege. And your conduct each day, as the Holy Spirit brings it before the Father, gives away the things that you do, and you're still a son and daughter, but you'll never be brought to the place where you should be.

Great gifts that are in the Church are so misused, no reverence to it, and just a--a bunch of carry on until it even brings disgrace to the public. How that the Holy Spirit would like to govern that, bring it down.

We better preach the truth, 'cause God's going to... If He give us this great sacred office. He's going to require it at our hands. So if you're inspired...

Notice, the tutor brought the message to the father and said, "The child is progressing right or wrong." Then if it came up... Now, no matter what the outside people had to say about this child, what the servants on the farm had to say, he tried to work every way to please the father.

 

*DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO BUILD THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

And no matter what the world has to say about you, work to please God. Do everything you can to build the Kingdom of God. Don't never separate it. Build it together. Don't never divide it by denominational barriers. Don't let those little thing that man has put into the Church ever separate brotherhood. Because you're a Methodist, shake hands with a Baptist. Because you're a Presbyterian, shake hands with a Pentecostal. We are brethren. And don't let man's little barbed wire barriers separate you from the fellowship of the saints of the living God who are our brethren in like precious faith.

If they don't know just as much as you feel, then you pray for them, and associate with them, and fellowship with them, and God will spread His love abroad in their hearts too.
