25-0411A_THE STATURE OF A PERFECT MAN PT-3 (PARTAKERS OF CHRIST'S DIVINE NATURE)

2Ti 1:1  Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

2Ti 1:2  To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

2Ti 1:3  I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

2Ti 1:4  Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;

2Ti 1:5  When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

2Ti 1:6  Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

2Pe 1:1  Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2Pe 1:2  Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
2Pe 1:3  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
2Pe 1:4  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2Pe 1:5  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
2Pe 1:6  And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
2Pe 1:7  And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
2Pe 1:8  For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

FAITH

*FAITH IS THE SUBSTANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR…THERE'S NOTHING GOING TO TURN YOU FROM IT; IT'S A SETTLED THING.

THE.STATURE.OF.A.PERFECT.MAN_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-18  SUNDAY_  62-1014M

  18-4    Now, faith is what you must believe. Faith is what? "Faith is the substance of things hoped for." It's... You already have it when you have faith, because it's revealed in faith. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for (Hebrews 11.), the evidence..." What kind of an evidence? A holy evidence.

Therefore, when you say, "Brother Branham, I believe that God is a Healer." Well, if you believe that, and then accept Him as your Healer, and not lying, but actually believing that by His stripes you are healed, there's nothing going to turn you from it; it's a settled thing. Now, you might have hope, just keep dodging to this and dodging to that. But when you got faith, you know it, because it is the evidence you've already got it.

*FAITH IS THE FOUNDATION OF ALL OF IT…FOR WITHOUT FAITH IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD

THE.STATURE.OF.A.PERFECT.MAN_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-18  SUNDAY_  62-1014M

  18-2    Notice: you must be borned again. And when you're born again, you can't be born again without having faith. That's right. So, you see on my chart here, I got the very foundation. Faith is the foundation of all of it. For without faith it's impossible to please God: "He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and a Rewarder of those that diligently seek Him." See? He must be. And when you are a skeptic of the Bible, when you're skeptic of the Word being right, you just might as well stay back until first you believe it.

What is sin? Unbelief. There's only two elements that controls the human being. That's either doubt or faith, one or the other. You're possessed of one that dominates your life. Just depends on how much faith you have, how high you can rise. But first it's got to be faith. Now, let me stay on that foundation for a while.

*THAT FAITH RECOGNIZES ONLY THE WORD. NO MATTER WHAT ANYTHING ELSE SAYS, IT ONLY RECOGNIZES THE WORD…

BLASPHEMOUS.NAMES_  JEFF.IN  V-3 N-21  SUNDAY_  62-1104M

22-1    …..And the biggest part of our faith is mental faith. [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.] By hearing the Word it brings us to a mental recognition of God. But if this coming from above, oh, brother, if it ever strikes this, there is a godly, spiritual faith. Then what does that faith do? That faith recognizes only the Word. No matter what anything else says, it only recognizes the Word, because "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (And the Word's still God.) And the Word was made flesh and dwelled among us."

*IT ANCHORS YOU IN A SETTLED FAITH OF CHRIST.

THE.WAY.BACK_  SHREVEPORT.LA  FRIDAY_  62-1123

E-62    …..There God was dividing Himself among His church. Like a man and his wife being one, so is God and His church One. There's one. "That day you'll know that I'm in the Father, the Father in Me, I in you and you in Me." That's the inoculation. That's the inoculation He had. That's the inoculation He received. "It's not Me that doeth the works. It's My Father that dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works. Not Me that sees these visions, it's My Father. I can do nothing... The Son can do nothing in Himself, but what He sees the Father doing, that doeth the Son likewise."

That's the inoculation from unbelief. It anchors you in a settled faith of Christ. It anchors you.

There you know that you've passed from death unto Life. No man can talk you out of it. Nobody can explain it away from you. You was on those sacred sands with God alone, and you know you were borned again. Your whole life is changed and you're a new creature in Christ. There ain't enough devils in hell can take it away from you. You're a new creature, a new creation. You're inoculated with the power of God, the Toxin of God's Holy Spirit has wooed you. Amen.

*THE LIFE OF CHRIST WILL PRODUCE THE WORKS OF CHRIST, WILL PRODUCE THE FAITH OF CHRIST, WILL MAKE YOU ACT AS CHRIST, MAKE YOU LOVE HIM.

HEAR.YE.HIM_  SOUTH.BEND.IN  SUNDAY_  58-0209A

E-37    …..When spring comes, you don't have to go pick off them old leaves to let new leaves come on. Just let new life come, and the old leaf drops off. You just need new life. And if the new life that you think you've received doesn't pattern with God's Word, you've got the wrong life in you. The life of Christ will produce the works of Christ, will produce the faith of Christ, will make you act as Christ, make you love Him. He will be first in your life. Your objectives, your motives, and everything will be altogether different. It'll be for the glory of God.

VIRTUE

*…AS THIS STRENGTH OF THE PULLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT MAKING VIRTUE AND STRENGTH GO.

WHATEVER.HE.SAITH.UNTO.YOU.DO.IT_  CHICAGO.IL  THURSDAY_  54-0722

  E-62    …O Lord, no disease, You said, that any time could stand before the prayer of faith. And I ask Thee, just now, as this strength of the pulling of the Holy Spirit making virtue and strength go, I ask that the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ now in the Names of Him Who gave the promise, I condemn every sickness in this building.

*I PERCEIVE VIRTUE HAS GONE," NOT FROM THE GOD THAT WAS IN HIM, BUT FROM HIS PHYSICAL BODY, THE SON OF GOD, WHO HE WAS.

JEHOVAH.JIREH_  SAN.FERNANDO.CA  THURSDAY_  55-1117

  E-80    Now, it's making me weak. Of course you could see it, and even the--this cold night, and the perspiration running from my hand. See? You're... it's--it's His Presence. Visions... Jesus said "I perceive virtue has gone," not from the God that was in Him, but from His physical body, the Son of God, Who He was. That's the same thing here. It just makes you real weak; it's visions. If you have faith and can believe with all your heart, why, you can receive what you ask for.

*SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD FILL EVERY HEART WITH FAITH AND POWER, AND HEALING VIRTUE FROM THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST…

EVENTS.MADE.CLEAR.BY.PROPHECY_  JEFF.IN  V-12 N-3  SUNDAY_  65-0801E

160      …..Let the Spirit of the living God fill every heart with faith and power, and healing virtue from the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Who is identified now by this great Light circling the church, in His Presence. In the Name of Jesus Christ, grant it for the glory of God.

161    May these handkerchiefs that we pray over, may they go to the sick and the afflicted that they're intended to. May the same Holy Spirit that's here now identifying Himself, identify Himself on every patient that these is laid upon. May the Presence of God so fill their heart with faith until the sickness of their body will be healed. This we ask, for the glory of God, in the Presence of Jesus Christ and in the Name of Jesus Christ, as we the servants of Jesus Christ ask it. Amen.

*IT WAS A DIFFERENT KIND OF A TOUCH, A TOUCH OF FAITH. VIRTUE IS STRENGTH.

JESUS.CHRIST.THE.SAME.YESTERDAY.TODAY.AND.FOREVER_  HOT.SPRINGS.AR  V-20 N-9  THURSDAY_  63-0627

232    But Jesus said, "I perceive that virtue has gone from Me." It was a different kind of a touch, a touch of faith. Virtue is strength. "I perceive that My strength... I got weak. Somebody touched Me with a--a touch of faith."

233      Now He could not have felt it, physically. You might touch my coat, and there is much more between the border of His garment and His body, than there is to my coat.

237    Now what did she do? She never touched Him, exactly. She touched God, through Him. Well, then that's... How many knows... These ministers, which, I know they know. But the Book of Hebrews says that, "Jesus Christ now is the High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities." Is that right? [The ministers say, "Amen."--Ed.]

*IF WE'RE GOING TO BE LIKE HIM, WE MUST HAVE VIRTUE THEN. WE MUST HAVE IT TO BE LIKE HIM.

THE.STATURE.OF.A.PERFECT.MAN_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-18  SUNDAY_  62-1014M

  23-4    Now, here's what we do. What's the first thing? Have faith and be borned again; that's laying the foundation. Then after we lay the foundation, secondly, you add to your foundation. "Add to your faith," Peter said here. Add to your... First you have faith, then you add virtue to your faith. This is the next column. First pour your foundation: faith. Then to your faith add virtue.

Now, right there knocks a lot of us down. Yes, sir. Yes, add virtue to your faith. That doesn't just mean living a virgin life, you know, like a woman or man, and so forth. That doesn't have nothing to do with that. The Bible said... We read over here in the Book of Luke where it said, "Virtue went out of Him." Is that right? If we're going to be like Him, we must have virtue then. We must have it to be like Him. If...

*VIRTUE MUST BE IN US, AND UNTIL WE GET VIRTUE... THEN WHEN WE GET TRUE VIRTUE, WE CAN ADD IT TO OUR FAITH.

THE.STATURE.OF.A.PERFECT.MAN_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-18  SUNDAY_  62-1014M

  23-6    The first song that I ever loved in--in the hymns, one of the greatest, was: "To Be Like Jesus." Well, if I'm going to be like Jesus, I've got to have virtue and a pass that it can pass forward from me to the people, because virtue went out of Him to the people: virtue. And before you can let it out, you've got to have it first. If you haven't got it, it won't come out. There's nothing for it to come out of.

What if someone tried to draw virtue out of us, the--the check would return "insufficient funds." See? No, no, none there to draw from: check bounced. Somebody looking at you as a Christian and tomorrow see you out here carrying on like a sinner, not much virtue can be drawed from that. See? That's right.

Virtue must be in us, and until we get virtue... Then when we get true virtue, we can add it to our faith. That's the next foundation wall.

*IF HE HAD VIRTUE TO GIVE TO THE PEOPLE, HE EXPECTS US TO HAVE VIRTUE TO GIVE TO THE PEOPLE.

THE.STATURE.OF.A.PERFECT.MAN_  JEFF.IN  V-2 N-18  SUNDAY_  62-1014M

  24-3    Now, first you must have faith. Faith alone won't do it. You've got... Peter said, "Then add virtue to your faith." You must have virtue in order to add it to your faith. Now, then... It might be the reason you don't have it, because many churches of today teach you don't have to have it, or the days of it's passed. They don't have to have it. Only thing you have to do is just join church. "Yeah, days has passed." Virtue, anyone knows what the word "virtue" means (See?), and we must have it.

If virtue went from Him to heal the woman that was sick, He's expecting the same virtue in His church, because He was our Example. And if He had virtue to give to the people, He expects us to have virtue to give to the people. And what is virtue? "Virtue" is "strength, power." Some of them don't even believe in power of God. They say, "That--that--that's passed. Only thing you have to do is just put your name on the book. Be sprinkled or poured, or baptized, or whatevermore, and that's all you have to do."

But Peter said here, "Add virtue."

   24-5    Now, Peter's talking about building a House of God (See?), the Temple of God, fixing it to a place. And after you have virtue you must have--after you have faith, you must have virtue with it. That's right. Have virtue for the whole world.

Eph 3:17  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

Eph 3:18  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

Eph 3:19  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Eph 3:20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Eph 3:21  Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
