  E-31    So remember, don't go by reasoning. You be sure that you're right. And there's a way of doing that, and that's accepting Jesus Christ and being borned again of the Spirit of God, when your entire soul testifies the Word of God is right. And stay with it and believe every Word, 'cause your spirit bears record with His Spirit then. And the thing... If... Here it is, get it. "If you love the world or the things of the world, the love of God's not even in you," says the Bible.

  E-36    Elijah, no wonder he was anointed... And a very prominent thing, people know it when you're anointed with the Holy Spirit. They might in their heart, or in their--in reasoning, say, "Oh, there, that guy is crazy. Oh, I--I..." But down in their heart they admire you (That's right.), down in their heart.

They might fuss with you, 'cause they're trying to agree with their reasonings; but down in their hearts they admire, unless their soul's so seared till they have nothing but reasonings. For if you're a real Christian, living a true life, and living the Word and God's with you, everybody will admire it, if his soul's still in touch with God. Amen. That's the reason I think fussing about denominations is uncalled for. Sure it is.

  E-38    The woman, she realized that Elijah was a servant of God. And when they would come by that way she'd always trying to do him a little favor, try to be kind to him.

And if there's anything that we ought to be, is kind to one another. When you see a brother or sister in fault, don't never--don't never breathe it to nobody. Keep it to yourself and pray for that person. Be kind to them. And if the Spirit of God is in you, then you will be kind to one another. Jesus said, "I come to do Thy will, Father."

And we are about the Master's business as He was about the Father's business. And the same Spirit that He had to begin the works of the Father and to finish the atonement, to make a way that we could carry the message, if that Spirit's in you, you'll have that same attitude towards people: trying to do what you can to help them, no matter who they are or where they are. You'll try to help people. Amen. That's kinda strong, but that's truth. That's right. It... Rather, friends, it's the time has come where we're nearing the end. And something's got to be done.

Notice. We got to have rapturing faith right away now. I believe it. And after tomorrow night I want you to reason about it when I speak on the second coming and see how close you think it is.

  E-42    …..And the same thing will take place someday for those (Here it is.), those who are prepared and waiting for the coming of the Lord. He will be along someday, so you better have a little place in here. Make it ready now. For that's the only thing that's a going with Him. This other--our houses, our homes, our land, our popularity, our flesh, our clothes, everything we'll drop and leave here on the earth. But just this that's on the inside will go with Him. Get it ready; prepare it now. Don't be deceived.

I've stood by the side of too many dying people that thought they were right and found out they were wrong at the end. So take a solemn warning before He gets here. Have a place prepared for Him.

I wonder if Christ would come to our hearts tonight, if He'd find it with everything of the world gone, that He might fulfill where it's "Come unto Me all ye that heavy--heavy laden. And take My yoke upon you; learn of Me; I'm meek and lowly: and you'll find rest," resting with Christ, what a wonderful thing.

  194      As we quietly now... Do you realize that each one of us in here is got to leave here, leave this world? Do you know that a man that is born of a woman is of a few days and full of trouble? Did you know that because that we're born of that tree from the Garden of Eden, of death, that we've got to die? We're the fruit of our mother's womb, and we have to die, we have to separate this life. Young or old, it makes no difference. If the oldest man or woman in here lives through the night, she'll outlive or he'll outlive many ten-, fifteen-year-old children? Hundreds of them will die across the world before morning, of children. So all that matters, is, what are you doing right now?

  195      This may be your last opportunity. Young or old, you're able to get to church. Don't leave one thing undone. Be deeply and sincere. Lay every sin and everything aside. Look straight in the face of God and ask the question, "Lord, do I please You? What else could I do, Lord Jesus? I'll never have the opportunity no more, after this life is over, to serve You. This is the only time I have. Lord God, only let me know what You want to do! If I should go do this or I should do that, I'd gladly do it."

196    Do we--do we think that sincerely? Does the little fellows think that? Does the middle aged think that? Does the old people think that? Does the teen age think that? We got to go, and how do you know that we all won't be gone before morning? We don't know it. You say, "That worries me." It shouldn't! Frankly, it should make you most happy to know that you're leaving this old pesthouse.

 

25-0808A_IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE

Psa 27:1  A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 

Psa 27:2  When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. 

Psa 27:3  Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. 

Psa 27:4  One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. 

Psa 27:5  For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

It is in the midst of a time of great trouble that Jesus comes. And with His coming there is a resurrection. Many are to come forth out of the dust and rise with those who are alive but waiting for His return. And these will be given crowns. Why? Because they are Sons of God. They are kings with Him. They are reigning with Him. That is what the crown signifies--reigning and ruling with the Great King, Himself. That is the promise to all those who suffer with Him here on earth--all those who endured patiently knowing that God, the Just Judge would reward them. They who gave up all for Him and committed all to Him will sit down in His throne and share in His glorious kingdom.

Oh, we have a word for us all at this time. It is hold fast-- persevere. Don't give up. Put on the whole armour of God--use every weapon He has given us--use every gift at our disposal and look ahead with joy, because we are going to be crowned by Him Who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

  E-18    Elijah, I always thought of him as a great, big man, tall, maybe skinny, and we see that he was a fearless man when the Spirit of God was upon him. He did not worry about what anyone thought about him or what the world had to say as long as the Spirit of God was on him.

And you know, I--I kinda believe that's just about the attitude of the church now, or any time, or anybody. Sickness, nothing bothers you as long as the Spirit of God is near and you know it. Let a person be so, ever so sick and let the Holy Spirit come into the room and anoint that person, you'll see a changed person in a few moments.

 84    Then if Christ was in us today, He'd do the same things He did when he was here on earth. If the Lord Jesus is arisen from the dead today, and lives among us, and said, "The same things that I do, you'll do also, for I'll be with you to the end of the world," then there's only one way to prove whether He's raised from the dead; that is, when the Church that believes that, Christ will make Hisself known to that Church by His same power of His resurrection. It's got to be, friends.

  85    This is either the Word of God or It's a deceiving Book. That's right. It's either right or It's wrong. And It's either all right or all wrong. Every word is inspired or none of them is inspired. I want to believe it.

Paul said, "I never come to you preaching with enticing words and wisdom of men; for if I did, then your faith would be built upon wisdom of men. But I come to you, preaching the Gospel of the power of God, the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: that your faith would be steadfast." Paul never come with some seminary experience to polish around, and take out, and add to. He said, "I come knowing only one thing: Christ crucified. I only come knowing one thing, preaching to you the power of the resurrection, that Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." And in Galatians 1:8, he said, "If an angel preached anything else, let him be accursed unto you." That's right.

 

25-0801A_THE GOD WHO IS RICH IN MERCY

Eph 2:4  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

291    You notice, these--these Cherubims that John saw here must've been interested in keeping the Tree of Life, so they must be interested in human beings. Or read Genesis, getting back to Genesis again; They kept the Tree of Life, guarded it, the Way of Life, the Way of Life. How is the Way? Jesus said, "I am that Way. I am that Bread that come from God out of heaven. If a man eats this Bread, he'll live forever." Now, there is a way back to that Tree of Life. You get it?

Now, at this, I want to show now and make this sure, it's an altar. Now, this must've been an altar at the garden of Eden. I tell you why. Do you remember both Cain and Abel come up here to worship? So that showed that God's altar was moved and set here at the garden of Eden, and the only way back to Eden is by the altar. Here you are again (See?), back to Eden through the altar. And they were to keep that way there, guard it, that they couldn't get back there until this altar was covered with blood.

(O God, can't people see it?) See, nothing but the Blood. There has to be an atonement, a mercy seat there; this altar of judgment must become a mercy seat; and when this altar, if the Blood is lifted, there'll stand on that judgment day the fire of God's wrath to guard that Tree again. Only one thing will enter into this gate to Eden again, will be through the Blood of Jesus Christ. You see it?

  328    Now, we're living in another age. Glory. Oh, I love this age. Don't you? Now, God has a mercy seat today to be guarded. You believe that? Where's the mercy seat found? In the heart of man. Where did it come in the heart of man? At the day of Pentecost when the Holy Ghost (which is God) come into human hearts. Is that right? Now, let's mark this down here, and get ready to draw it if you want to. Pentecost, P-e-n-t; I'll put: Pentecost. This is the mercy seat, the Holy Ghost. Put in here...     98-1  {202}    Remember in the Old Testament? As long as the blood was off the mercy seat, it was judgment, but as long as the blood was on there, there was mercy. But when the Lamb walked away, that did it.

Note, "the throne," He set on the throne. He wasn't no more back down in the candlesticks now, on earth. The rapture had done come. He was in glory, setting on His throne. I want you to notice on down, we'll find even in the 5th chapter; it was not the throne of mercy. It wasn't a throne of mercy any more; it was the throne of judgment. It wasn't a throne of grace. It's a throne of judgment because fire and lightning and thunders issued forth from it; no more; mercy's over, the church age was finished. "He that's filthy is filthy still; he that's righteous is righteous still; he that's holy is holy still," no more a throne of mercy.

  169    Tonight, the Blood lays on that throne and it's a mercy seat for every sinner that's seeking mercy. But on that day, it won't be a mercy seat then; it'll be a judgment seat with a angry God setting there. "Where... If the righteous is scarcely saved, where will the sinner and ungodly appear?" Even when He comes in the clouds of His glory, the mountains will try to find a place to hide. Where are we going to stay then?

1105-Q-348    348. Brother Branham, some say mercy is over and no one can be saved. Now, is this true? (I'm glad I got this one.) We watch and pray--we watch the prayer lines, and it seems some are still finding mercy. Now, that's the first question, you got two.

"Is mercy over?" Don't never think that. See? Just keep right on doing everything you can until you're taken away. See?

"We notice in the prayer line some's finds mercy." Sure. Mercy's--the doors are open. See? I think where you got this--this thought might lay between... See, I don't have time to give each one of these Scriptures their right place (You see?), each one of these things their right place. They... In the prayer line you find mercy, certainly.

If I knowed Jesus was coming this afternoon, I'd be doing just the thing I'm doing right now (See?), just continuing right on. Mercy is always open. See?

  1105-201    And now, where I think you get it, is about the finishing of the Seven Church Ages and the Seven Seals being loosed. See? The Seven Seals, it's manifested what takes place has--what has took place. The seventh church age, we're at the end of the seventh church age. When I say the end, that doesn't mean it's this very hour, this very minute. You remember, the Bible said, back in the times of--of the Lord Jesus, Paul said, "For the time is at hand." Do you realize how long that was in God's time? That was yesterday. My time, it's been two thousand years. See? The time is at hand. See? What God calls at hand is not what we call at hand. See?

So just keep on believing, keep on praying, keep on... God's still got mercy open; just keep flowing into it as fast as you can. God will do the stopping when it's time to stop. See?

E-33    Then when Jesus... About the time that God was going to do something... Before God does anything He always sends mercy before judgment. He always sends warning. And when man won't heed the warning, there's only one thing left, that's judgment. That's right. "If you die in your sins, where I am you cannot come." God sends preachers and everything and gives warning, sends His Spirit and warns the people.

Now, before He sent Jesus, He sent a warning to the people to make ready His coming. And may I stop here just a minute to say this with a deepest of sincerity: I believe the things that you're seeing taking place today across the world, is a warning: Jesus is coming.

…..Let the pressure come on brother, it'll push you to God. You don't have to wonder whether you're a Methodist or Baptist; just start praying; God will take care the rest of it. You just start tak... Just pray, get close to God.

E-31    …..So that begin with Him, and then He went out through capital punishment. He come in by the way of a stable door, and went out through capital punishment. That's the way the world received the Lord Jesus Christ.

But just before His--His birth, God always makes a preparation for things. Don't you believe that? I want you to listen close. I believe today with all my heart... Now, this is just Brother Branham speaking. You see? I believe that the things that you see are taking place now, is a preparation. God is preparing something just before a climax. God always warns the world, and then if they won't--will not receive warning, then there's only one thing left; that's judgment.

Noah warned the world, and they would not receive it. And all through the age, God's always warned. He sends mercy, and if they spurn mercy, there's nothing else left but judgment. But the merciful Father will send mercy first.

  E-32    Now, this time just before the coming of the Lord Jesus they had men... The church had got down to a place till it was very few that was looking for it, just unconcerned about like they are today. Just... But God always has had a remnant of people who believed him.

E-20    …..God always makes a preparation. Before He does anything, He always gives ample time, much warning, and then those who spurn that love, of warning, there's nothing left but judgment. They must receive judgment.

Before God destroyed the antediluvian world in the days of Noah, He sent a voice of warning and warned the people to flee from the wrath that was to come. And the warning, the voice of warning was so contrary to the church setup of that day, until the people laughed him to scorn and thought he was a crazy man; for he--he spoke of something that was impossible as far as man was concerned for it to happen. Lord said He was going to rain water down out of the skies, and it had never rained, not even dew fall, until that time. But yet he said He was going to do it.

And here's where he based his--his text, where he based his thought and his faith was in, because God said He was going to do it. That's a good reason. When God says He's going to do anything, just believe it; because He's going to do it.

  E-21    If God come down in this building tonight and said, "It's going to rain tomorrow," well, if I went everywhere, I'd take my umbrella. It'd be easy for me to take umbrella if the sun was shining ever so bright, 'cause I know it was going to rain. And when God says anything, He's going to do it, and you can just depend...

If He says, "Don't plant any crops this year, there won't--there won't be anything raised," you'd never see me putting any seed in the ground; 'cause it'd be easy for me to believe that God said so. And what God says, it's easy for me to believe that He'll do it. That is today, on the ministry.

E-16    Moses took God's provided way when they were down there in Egypt. How they going to get out? It... God kept hardening Pharaoh's heart. But He said, "Now, I'm going to make a way of escape, because I'm going to send death over the land."

Say, listen, here's something striking. Watch, plague after plague after plague, but the last plague fell was death, just before the deliverance.

Notice it. How striking it is today. Jesus said there'll be--perilous times shall come, men's hearts would fail; how He said they'd be distress between the nations, sea a roaring, tidal waves that's never been heard of before, bursting forth in the seas. How that in all these things, signs would be coming to pass. Just like it was in the days of Noah, it would be again. How marvelous.

But remember, the last plague that fell was death. And the last thing... God has give us warning after warning, warning after warning. Now, the last thing that's come is death, spiritual death. The churches are dying spiritually. That's right, friend.

E-17    We talk about the revival in America; we haven't got any revival. We've got a lot of church joining, but we haven't got any revival.

One of the famous evangelists, not long ago, where had claimed thirty thousand in six weeks (or twenty thousand, I believe it was.), about six weeks after that, couldn't find twenty people. The reason of it is this, friend, is because they just have the people just to make a confession, just stand up and set down. That's good. That's all right, as far as you go.

But, brother, there's a deeper experience than that. You've got to get that person to where the Holy Spirit takes control of that life by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. That's God's provided way.

  E-18    God's provided way was the only thing that floated. Your popularity won't last during that day. It won't stand in that day. I don't care what you got. God hasn't got any shortcuts. You come by the cross, born again, filled with the Holy Ghost, or you're gone. You're lost. No shortcuts, you got to come God's way.

What if I started home tonight and said, "Let's see now, the beeline would be right like this." I'd get stuck in mud. They've provided a highway. I've got to take the mark and follow it.

*THOSE WILD ANIMALS HEARD THE SOUND AND TOOK THE WARNING OF GOD BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND WENT TO SAFETY…..EVERYTHING THAT'S NOT IN THE BODY OF CHRIST WILL BE LEFT HERE.

E-36    I can just imagine... Let's look at this just a moment. God was preparing, Noah's preaching. And the first thing you know, why one day there come a thunder.

I hear someone say, "Oh, a blast went off somewhere."

But a--a cloud begin to rise. Now, I can see the great big Polly Parrot setting out there, looking over to the mother Polly Parrot and say, "Mother, that's what Noah said." I can see the little monkey drop the cone there and say, "Come on, Mammy, we're headed for the ark." The old camel eat and say, "Come on, let's go." Two by two they went into the ark led by the Holy Spirit. It goes to show that man hasn't got the gumption of a wild animal sometimes. That's right. Those wild animals heard the sound and took the warning of God by the Holy Spirit, and went to safety.

And today man hears the sound of the coming of the Son of God and rejects and refuses to hear it. Amen. You know that's the truth. But God preparing... Seems ridiculous.

I can hear someone say, "Well, if it does rain, I'll get on me a big poplar log and ride." But the big poplar log sunk. And so will every poplar log sink when Jesus Christ returns. Everything that's not in the Body of Christ will be left here. "As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the coming of the Son of man."

  E-37    Jesus never asked this, "Will I find righteousness? Will I find people that's living good?" Goodness and righteousness is what-what... Jesus said, "Will I find faith when I return? Will I find..."

Somebody, oh they say, "I got faith."

Well, faith without works is dead. "Will I find somebody who will stand at My Word and say, 'Every Word's right.' I'm not scared whether this one says so, or that says so, or nothing. I believe in God, and I'm accepting It, and standing right there on It." That's the thing. God is preparing a Church today to be saved just as He did in the days of Noah and that ark. And the Body of Christ today is that ark.

Why, you say, "We all believe that."

  E-30    But I tell you, there was such a pull till even the animal creation knew that something was wrong. I can see the old mother bird setting up there, and the father bird just a singing away. That first clap of lightning, the first time that signs and wonders begin to happen, I can see father bird say, "Mother dear, come on, let's get right straight to the ark, because that's exactly what Noah said was going to happen. That's the Spirit of God moving in us, let's go to the ark."

I can see the old mother camel out there eating on the side of the hill, and the father camel over here. When the first bolt of lightning went through the sky and the signs and wonders begin to appear, I can hear father camel say to mother camel, "Come on, that's it. Something's tugging on the inside of here, something's moving me; I've got to get into the ark." I tell you; God had ordained that they'd come into the ark.

*I BELIEVE THAT EVERY MAN OR WOMAN THAT'S ORDAINED OF GOD TO HEAR THE VOICE OF GOD, HEARS THAT TUG, THEY SHOVE TO THE ARK AS FAST AS THEY CAN GO, GET INTO SAFETY…

  E-31    And I believe that today when the signs and wonders are appearing everywhere of the coming of the Son of God, I believe that every man or woman that's ordained of God to hear the voice of God, hears that tug, they shove to the ark as fast as they can go, get into safety; for God's provided way for man to escape. That's right. You see signs appearing, wonders appearing, mysterious things a happening, sure, flying saucers through the air and everything else. Jesus said, "There'd be signs in the heaven above and in the earth below, pillars of fire and vapors of smoke; it shall come to pass before the great and terrible day of the Lord shall come."

He spoke all these things, the sea a roaring, tidal waves breaking, and everything, man's hearts failing. Greatest time of heart trouble we've ever had. Fear, perplex of times, distress between the nations... Oh, my. How the prophet said, "That horseless carriages here that race in the broad ways, and seem like torches and run like lightning." Everything that was spoke of, we're looking in the face of it today.

  E-32    What is it? It's God's warning to you people, "Prepare to meet God." Get ready.

"Why should I prepare to meet God, Brother Branham?" Brother, you prepare for a wedding; you prepare for anything else. When you see these things coming, you prepare to meet God. Every time you see a gray hair in your head, that means you better prepare to meet God. Every time you pass an undertaker's establishment, that means, prepare to get ready to meet God. Every time a baby's born, remember, prepare to meet God. Every time a funeral procession passes, prepare to meet God. Every time you hear the Gospel as a warning, prepare to meet God.

God has a way of escape; get into Jesus Christ now, where you're safe. Each one of those animals went right in, two by two, into the ark. God always makes a way for those who are really wanting to escape the wrath of God.

  E-33    That doesn't show they're sinners, not at all. Sometimes God does permit sickness to come. But if you know in your heart like Job did, that you were clean and clear before God... Job had some comforters to come too, and set with their backs turned to him for seven days, accusing him to be a secret sinner. [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.]

"Thou speakest like a foolish woman. The Lord gave, and the Lord taken away, blessed be the Name of the Lord." Brother, he had... He knowed one thing, that God was the alternative; God was all he had to hold onto. So "Blessed be the name of the Lord." Said, "I come into this world naked; I'll go out naked, but blessed be the Name of the Lord."

A man in that condition, a man that's willing to hold on to God's Word, God's under obligation to send him something. God's under obligation to take him to it.

12    What if the apostles would have said, now, after nine days, "We believe that we got It (See?); let's just accept It by faith and go ahead with our work." See, it never would've worked out. They waited there until they knew that something happened. See? And that's what's the trouble of us is today; we don't stay long enough. Well, that's the reason afterwards we can just live any kind of a life, do anything, don't bother us, because we don't stay there long enough. Today we're in; tomorrow we're out, and this way and that way. If we stay long enough till you get in and close the door behind you, you're going to stay there then. You're sealed until the day of your redemption. I'm so glad of that.

E-45    The darkest hour that little family had ever seen, then Jesus come by. Maybe you went to every doctor in the city. This may be your darkest hour. But Jesus has come by. Maybe it's the darkest hour you ever seen, or you ever seen, you, or you. Maybe the doctor's given you up. But Jesus comes along just in the darkest of hour.

It was the darkest hour the Hebrew children, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had ever seen. They walked right into a fiery furnace. And right in the darkest of hour, then Jesus came along. That's just like Him, isn't it? In the darkest of hour...
